as of current Clockwork is our best option. I wish Amon_ra made one but it's not possible as of current.

I know right?
I like Amon_ra better, I hope they make it work soon

I would donate if this happened

I think Amon_ra's recovery was a lot more intuitive.

ROM Manager and the Epic 4G

ok i'm a little confused about the role, if any, the rom manager plays with the epic 4G... if we are supposed to 3 finger into Recovery to nandroid and run zip files/flash roms, and we cannot use the rom manager for rom updates, what good does it do us?

Once kernels are CWM 3.0.2.5 compatible it will be more useful. You will be able to reboot into recovery through Rom Manager, and possibly update roms all through it. Also CM7. Once its done.
but until then should i just delete it from my epic? is there ANY use to it for us right now?

I've seen others say they've used it to fix permissions, which CAN solve some issues. But it's just a shortcut, you can do that from CWM. So its not NEEDED. I personally don't use it.

that is my understanding , too ...... until then though it is not of much use to us
It will boot to 3.0.2.x without errors, but you will get errors if you try to use any functions. Better to give Sprint the 3 finger salute. ;-)

Clockworkmod touch

I have a registered version of the ROM manager. One of the options clockworkmod touch is available.
Can I install the cwm touch version without breaking the x10i.

No dude, rom manager doesn't support Xperia devices.. Which means it won't work. Check out Doomkernel, it has touch recovery

Clockworkmod recovery is a temporary recovery.

If you want it permanent you should flash a kernel that has it. Like hells fusion or Savie
