It appears the final update for Froyo from HTC is out! My buddy is downloading now. Check for HTC software update and it should download.
Nothing for me yet, I'm on froyo pre-release.
If this is true, the manual check while on the leaked 2.2 update did not work for an upgrade.
I just manually checked too... 326.656.6 is the version
84.34 mbs... 2 options.. download via wifi or 3g or wifi only
on stock 1.47
Yeah, I saw another forum say the same version number was downloading to their wife's phone.
Hopefully it's a slow rollout, or maybe us leak users will have to wait like the HTC twitter says. This might be the delay the other thread was talking about.
Download and post the file so it can be rooted and installed for us leak users

If you are on the pre-release (which I am as well), you will not see the final release available to update to. Per HTC's Twitter, it looks like they are working on something special for those who installed the pre-release. If you installed the rooted pre-release (such as I), simply go to a previous 1.47 ROM and check for the update there.
Yeah I figured as much.
All u people updating let me know how the camera is!
Downloading right now.
Update 1: Installing. Geez, this is taking forever.
Update 2: Installed. Testing out flash on Newgrounds. Runs a little slow on the site experience but the flash videos run smooth for me at least. I'd test out the camera but I never had a problem with it. Always ended up with decent photos. If there is one thing I can nag about the camera on the phone is that it doesn't focus on two people that are moving, meaning the person taking the picture and the person getting their picture taken, like my Cannon PowerShot does but I'm just nitpicking there.
Update 3: If I had to nitpick 1 more thing it would be that I would like to be able to wrap around to my next home screen when I'm on either side. Like go from furthest right screen to the furthest left screen by just swiping.
Yes, I'm downloading now!
Downloading now also. Been checking all day.

I'm guessing it won't work, otherwise htc wouldn't have put that twitter message up saying they're working on it.
But if you want to try, no one's stopping you =]

Everyone seems to report okay with it...but with drod2169 doing so much with 2.2.1 already I'm gonna stick with that. Also I am testing his new beta and ROM bootstraps automatically on every boot and more coolness to come so I will stick with rubiX focused for now
Is non-oem battery behavior any different???
With the FROYO update, the Droid X no longer recognized aftermarket batteries for whatever reason. Could someone who has flashed this update check and see if aftermarket batteries are recognized with it, or do we still get the '?' in the battery notification area?
Thanks
Not sure if I could live without LCD density at this point. I am gonna wait and watch developments.
so what all changes are in this? and what makes it worth jumping the ball?
If you want a changelog you will have to contact motorola. Otherwise it is supposedly just a faster build and random reboot issues fixed.
ok. well im guessing rubix would work as its same build set up? im tempted to put the leak in as it fixes some of the problems im having but not sure about not having an $BF full to revert back to, just incase i somehow f up on something. i can't afford to brick my only phone lol.
Will this work if I have Fission 2.1 installed? Or would it just delete my custom tom and bring me to a stock 2.2.1?

Okay I would say that this is probably the official OTA update that everyone is awaiting... The kernel is updated which is going to be the greatest advantage with this release...
Media Fix
Im pretty sure that the "sorry this player does not support..." has been fixed in this update... I use my DX as my primary mp3 player atleast 8 times a day and so that old bug would force me to restart 1 or 2 times daily... been running the new release for over 24 hours and I've yet to get the error (using it heavily and testing the music often aswell...)
Updated System Apps
The only thing ive noticed with these so far is a new Data usage widget built in to blur (now that we dont need unlimited data plans...)
Also the dialer now displays the most recent dialed or missed call just above the number keys...
Battery manager Fix
So the battery manager force close seems to have been fixed... I think this was an issue with the app and not the kernel... the reason i say this is because ive been checking to see that the battery stats non stop (maybe 100 times now) in different scenarios (fresh boot, fresh unplug, etc...) and i have only gotten one force close... I was running the 2.2 NexThemed Systems apk at this point... I imediately reinstalled the 2.2.1 setting apk and without needing to restart my phone the battery stats were fixed.
This issue then would not need u to flash the new release to fix for now... you can probably temporarily fix it on the old 2.2 kernel just by running the 2.2.1 app... (maybe people running the 2.2.1 fission can confirm this...
These are the big things i have noticed so far... I can not confirm the HDMI kernel fix though because i have not yet tested it and even when I was running the old kernel I seldom used the feature and When i did it never gave me any issues...
Hope this helps and I'd be very interested to hear about anything else people have noticed!
Does that update zip also do any kernal or radio updates?

working fine now. glad to have rubiX on the new leak
Any word on LCD Density working on that new Rubix?

I was very comfortable w/D1 but dX is a different ball game and I definitely cannot afford to Brick My new DX, All this "SBF" talk got me scurred...how do I verify what kind of bootloader i have (First verify that your bootloader is @ 30.04)? BTW I am new to DX and not new to android. Can someone also point me in the right direction to educate myself more w/SBF. I have to admit, I just don't know much (if anything) about it nor the purpose..

I assume it doesn't work any better than the previous version since nothing really has changed for tegra.
Dear WiredPirate,
That file has the same problems as the earlier one. However it did recommend a show to me that I will just have to watch on my xbox.
It does still have the same issues as the previous version but atleast it does work. Not great but for a truck driver like me it comes in handy sometimes.
P.S. Thanks for posting the new version.

I can't post links, but on droid-life there's a post about netflix, and in the picture is a droid x2 playing a video without the green bar or the discoloration. So it would appear tegra may not be the culprit.
Had to uninstall/reinstall as it kept prompting for the update.
Did the update and unfortunately it still has the green bar and washed out colours. I believe it's more than just the resolution and has something to do with the Tegra 2 as others have suspected. Booo!!
It's not tegra 2, as it works just fine on other tegra 2 devices. It's the video decoders on the Atrix are not supported.
READ: NOT. SUPPORTED.
This is not Motorola's fault. This is not AT&T's fault. Be patient and wait for the required updates.
Also, there's already a discussion thread on netflix in the themes and apps forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14176110
Plenty of info there.
There's video of an Atrix running Gingerbread on briefmobile.com, the update also fixed the netflix issue as there's no green bar or badly displayed colors. So it's probably just a matter of waiting for AT&T to push out GB to our phones.

With the Gingerbeard kernel not changing version. It may not required a full bootloader unlock to get Gingerbeard up and going.
Asus support have just told me that there will be a new firmware release on Friday.
The release "is expected to fix a couple of issues with 3.2 (apps related)."
I've asked if it fixes the compass calibration issue. Finger's crossed!
Let's hope it doesn't break root for the rest of us

Great news. Thanks!
Let's see if I get the OTA after removing CWM.
Regards.
Sounds great!
Wish the problems I got would also solved with this version.
TF101 bug list.
Firmware : official 3.2
Model: TF101 16GB
1. Static(photo) shifted to left by 2/3. The right side became black. No problem for live wallpapers.
2. Short cut on home screen became black. Widget content is also black. Became normal after reboot.
3. If apk calls YouTube apk. The screen became half dark but not freezed. But TF101 YouTube apk still work fine.
4. Sometimes got messed lines on screen lower part. Disappear after running other apk.

hopefully this will cure the dimming and apparent hang when you launch and reference an object with multiple viewers. Rotating the screen back and forth is getting a bit old.
You have to love the way Asus really stays on top of things with timely releases and bug fixes. It's why I bought an Asus instead of "that other brand".

I hope this too. I think they fixed some things while making 3G version firmware and it`s time to release them for the "regular" TF users. I hope they fix the browser because I spend 90% of my TF browsing. Hope it`s smooth and fix the rendering blocks on some sites.
I just rooted mine with Prime 1.7. It seems to be a bit laggy compared to the stock rom. How can I revert back to the stock, so that I could install this update when it comes out.
I wish they could fix the b70 thing so i can root my device!!

I bet there will be only one firmware for both models, WiFi only & 3G, because even the standard TF has a phone.apk.
Let's hope this time we'll see a real update. Last Friday they put 3.2 with release date 2011/08/12 on their website, but after I downloaded it to check, if it's really newer than the OTA relese, I found file date 2011/07/30 inside.
In my opinion the current release is a catastrophy, because of too many issues/bugs. That's why I refused to install it so far.
TF101 ftw!
OTA?
Is the upgrade OTA? Or will you need to do it manually?
Agreed, with the others who welcome the update, it has come pretty quickly. Making small incremental updates is the safest way to work, well done Asus.
I turned on the Iconia today at about 2:00 PM and I was greeted with then Update Available window. I downloaded the update and preformed the installation.
All went very very well and no hiccups. Typing this now on my A500 on HC 3.2.
For those interested, I'm in northern Virginia.
Build is:
ACER_A500_7.006.01_COM_GEN2
Been playing with it for a couple of hours now and so far it is all good.
Couple of things you notice right away is the touch screen operation seems to be much smoother. Mine also wakes up super fast from hibernation mode. You now get a little "SD Card Installed" icon in the notification bar when you boot up.

Got the update
I got my update today as well when I turned it on this morning. I'm in Northern Virginia as well. So far I like it. The browser seems a lot smother to me. I connected it to my laptop to see if I could see files on the external sd card. It showed up as an accessible drive, but none of the folders or files were displayed when I opened it up. I created a folder and it did show up in the file manager.
I was on stock 3.1, no root.
Received the OTA
I also received the OTA today as well. I'm just outside of Nashville, TN. I picked up my tab brand new about 3 months ago. Updated to the same build number as the op. No problems with 3.2 at all. Seems really stable and snappy. This tab has always been stock. Tried the newest build of Netflix for kicks, but no luck. Hopefully they will get it going soon without the need for root.

You can install Taboonay 2.1 or the near stock ROM from ezterry if you want a rooted ROM based on the 3.2 OTA update. They use a different boot loader. Not sure how long it will be before the developers figure out how to crack the new boot loader, so don't perform the update yet if you think you might want to root it or install a custom ROM.
Look in the deveopers thread if you want more information on the ROMS.
I would be Glad to answer any questions on either one. I have tried them both and they are great. I prefer Taboonay 2.1 because I get to chooce the Acer stock apps I want and skip the ones I don't
Tethering with 3.2
After updating to 3.2 are you still able to tether? I have read where some are having issues getting tethering to work after the update.
Updated to 3.2, lost root, but I was mainly worried about that for Titanium Backup.
I can still tether to my Bionic, but haven't tried connecting to an ad hoc wifi AP yet
