Anyone have a new version that has been fixed for atrix?
(I have phone only so its hard to search, but I did try)

I assume it doesn't work any better than the previous version since nothing really has changed for tegra.
Dear WiredPirate,
That file has the same problems as the earlier one. However it did recommend a show to me that I will just have to watch on my xbox.
It does still have the same issues as the previous version but atleast it does work. Not great but for a truck driver like me it comes in handy sometimes.
P.S. Thanks for posting the new version.

Well in order to get the previous version you had to get the apk, most likely was the modified apk.

Works good for stand up. Don't need to see it anyway

I can't post links, but on droid-life there's a post about netflix, and in the picture is a droid x2 playing a video without the green bar or the discoloration. So it would appear tegra may not be the culprit.
Had to uninstall/reinstall as it kept prompting for the update.
Did the update and unfortunately it still has the green bar and washed out colours. I believe it's more than just the resolution and has something to do with the Tegra 2 as others have suspected. Booo!!
It's not tegra 2, as it works just fine on other tegra 2 devices. It's the video decoders on the Atrix are not supported.
READ: NOT. SUPPORTED.
This is not Motorola's fault. This is not AT&T's fault. Be patient and wait for the required updates.
Also, there's already a discussion thread on netflix in the themes and apps forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14176110
Plenty of info there.
There's video of an Atrix running Gingerbread on briefmobile.com, the update also fixed the netflix issue as there's no green bar or badly displayed colors. So it's probably just a matter of waiting for AT&T to push out GB to our phones.

I've waited two months already, what's a few more weeks now? June, July, whatever. But I did see that video, too, and it made me a little happier inside.

If only the bootloader could be bypassed we'd have ice cream on day 2.

With the Gingerbeard kernel not changing version. It may not required a full bootloader unlock to get Gingerbeard up and going.

how will us with wifi only get this?
Any update is good news at this point I think. I wonder if there is any harm in updating, ie will it remove the ability to root and what not? I wish they would provide more details on what exactly the patch does. Also, it clearly says on the Verizon network, what about those not on it and are only on wifi?

MY droid always popped up updates even when I was only on wifi. I imagine we'll all get it or someone will post the update.zip anyway.
I'm curious if the Tegra 2 versions of flash (10.1) floating around will have something to interact with, and start functioning. They have with everything else. As soon as I get the OTA (no 3G), I have a folder full of them in my Dropbox.

Glad to see an update but there is nothing listed to get excited about except a possible problem with the upcoming daylight savings time switch. Who cares about the flash update since it does not actually include it. But this will be a good test run to see how the updates are sent out and applied.

You can force a check by rebooting. Not the best method, but it works.
Why do unlocked xooms need to get relocked?
I understand why you need to be on stock boot.img but i don't understand why you need to have the device relocked to get the update.
It makes no sense.

According to the system update tab this didn't happen in 3 reboots since the announcement. Still last check at 5:20. Really want to see if any of the 10.1 Tegra versions work after this. I've been frantic to have Flash lately (PlayOn/Netflix).

It might have a minimum time between checkins. Mine said 9:20am, then showed current time for last checkin when I rebooted.
So would it be fair to say that those of us who have rooted should wait until this update is released to see if in fact we really do need to revert back to stock/locked condition? Because I'd really be pissed if we had to lose all of the data on our Xooms just for this update, when very few of us have actually changed anything with the boot.img, etc. I mean back when I first rooted my N1 but before I flashed custom ROMs, I never had to wipe back to stock to receive OTA updates, so why would that be the case here??
According to the announcement, the Nexus S (which is a Galaxy S with a curved screen, NFC, and GB) is supported for streaming, even though it's supposed to only be available for Snapdragons, and not yet for Hummingbird.
Anyone manage to snag the APK yet? It won't let me install from the Market, even though even Google thinks I'm running a Nexus S (when in reality, it's just a Fascinate with CM7).

Using that version of the app just gives you a message saying the phone is unsupported for streaming. Would changing the ID of the device in the build.prop or something similar be enough to fool Netflix?

I downloaded it on my Nexus and transfered the apk to my i500 but when I installed it it gave me the "unsupported device" error.

If I can get my hands on the build.prop from either the Nexus S on AT&T or the Nexus S 4G, then I might be able to figure out the pertinent tweaks to make the Fascinate appear as either of those to the app when it tries to stream.
If it runs and streams on the NS, then the purported hardware limitation that was supposed to be there doesn't exist, and they're implementing the device lockout entirely in software. This means it will be easy to hack around, and probably be able to do so cleanly without hammering any important settings for the phone.
Edit: The Incredible (and presumably, by extension, the Thunderbolt) is supported, so it's not a carrier lockout, either. This tells me that it's only software, which is heartening.

Ok, so I was in the virus kingdom rom thread and seen this asked a couple of times.
I found this info on another site, I'll past the link in a few but here are the instructions...
So how’s it done? Well, the instructions are actually fairly straightforward, and come courtesy of tipster/redditor natemckn:
Root is required. Make a Nandroid backup! (I accidentally deleted by build.prop file and bootlooped my phone)
Download ES File Explorer (Or any other root file editor)
In ES File Explorer, go into Setting > Root Settings and enable both check boxes
Navigate to /system/ and copy/paste build.prop to /sdcard/ (just in case)
Open & edit /system/build.prop
Change the following lines to make your phone think it is a HTC G2:
ro.product.model=HTC Vision
ro.product.brand=tmobile
ro.product.name=vision
ro.product.device=vision
ro.product.board=vision
ro.product.manufacturer=HTC
Reboot the phone
Install the netflix apk (if you haven’t already)
Enjoy
Update: Apparently you don’t need to do the lines that are crossed out in Step 6 – only the product model and manufacturer need to be changed.Also, it appears that this is hit-or-miss at the moment. Works for some, partially (but not really) for others.
Heres the link,, if its not clickable its because I'm doing this from my phone, so copy and paste.

Afaik, our cm7 builds are missing a lot of codecs... this could be part of your video problems.

* The Netflix app runs on these phones:
1. HTC Incredible with Android 2.2
2. HTC Nexus One with Android 2.2, 2.3
3. HTC Evo 4G with Android 2.2
4. HTC G2 with Android 2.2
5. Samsung Nexus S with Android 2.3.
Thank you for repeating the information that we already know.
We're aware of the devices it works on, we're trying to make our devices masquerade as one of those in an attempt to get streaming working.
Not much luck so far. Time to work now. Might hack on it some more tonight.
The apk running around here doesn't work, either. At least not on 2.2.
Ok, so I said I was going to quit, but it's just too juicy.
Here's what I've found:
Work on Nexus S with GB. The NS is identical to the rest of the Galaxy S line from a hardware standpoint (with the exception of the NFC and curved screen, which have nothing to do with things). The only difference between them is the software.
Some more digging revealed that the key difference in a device working or not working is the Stagefright media framework, which is supposed to be the stock setup in 2.2, but OEMs mostly felt like they needed to hack it out in favor of their own stuff.
So... To get this working on the Fascinate, we need one of the following:
1. A CM7/AOSP GB build with working video codecs (we're almost there on that point)
2. A CM6/AOSP FroYo build with Stagefright media framework in place.
3. A custom ROM with the Stagefright framework hacked in.

4. A Samsung GB leak. Don't laugh -- now that i9000 GB is final, it's already official for the GSM Tab, and the Epic has a leak (now two) as well. US Galaxy S models running Touchwiz GB have run Netflix with no problem.

hopefully someone can get there hands on the APK and see if they can get it working on the Xoom

yeah its not going to happen as this Netflix specifically works with Qualcomm snapdragon chipsets for its drm and probably decoding to. It has been cracked to get working on other snapdragon phones but no Tegra 2 device works with it. You'll just have to wait.
That apk that disabled the device check indeed does work on the tegra 2 chipset on my droid X2 so you would think it would be possible on the xoom as well some how. I tried that same apk on the xoom but get the error message that it isn't supported on this device. Has to be possible I'd think though.
My TF had a firmware update over the weekend and NetFlix does show up in the Market now and I was able to download it. However, it still wont stream the content. I am not sure why or what causes the Market to allow access to a Tegra2 device but it is there...

Here is a netflix apk that works just fine on my wifi Xoom, I think this one was orinigally a modded version for the Dell Streak 7 (Terga chipset) and it just happens to work on the Xoom as well. I tested it on a 3g tether, ( it was grainy but what do you expect at 250k?) and on high speed broadband where it performed really well.

But why would we need a modded version now that the official apk runs great on the Xoom? I downloaded the official version from the post here in the Xoom forum under Xoom Themes and Apps http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1177955 and it works great. Hell I even installed it on my x10 and it works on that too.
By the way, I tested this apk on my xoom tethered to my x10 and was watching Speed Grapher with a crystal clear image. Pretty speedy load time too with no buffering.
Just read on phandroid and decided to download it on my rooted atrix and it played but with a green line. This was from the market. Any1 else with the same issue?

you should read the other 100 threads before asking this again, its a known issue its not optimized for the atrix on 2.2 unlock your bootloader and flash 2.3.4 if it will work fine then
Concur with last post. Netflix works great on HKTW 2.3.4! Just make sure you still have streaming on your account after the new price change.
Nice! I have been using it since I UL'd and using 2.3.4. Works great. I still just checked it on the Market and downloaded it so I can get the updates and such.
I tried it and still had the green line and ghosting as well. I am on 1.83. I did some reading and it had looked like it was still the old 1.2 version in the market. My thought is it should work with 1.83 as I'm guessing they haven't gotten the GB update yet to test the Atrix with. Or did they just assume and not test?
On a side note, after uninstalling Neflix my corporate exchange email couldn't connect to the server any longer. Could uninstalling Neflix have caused my issue or was it just a weird coincidence?

Yay! It works... but it looks like crap.
At least on my Atrix it looks like crap.
I own a Atrix (AT&T) as well as a Droid X (Verizon) and I have Netflix running (from the Market) on both phones. Side by side the video on the Droid X phone looks nice and sharp without blocky pixelation and it's only a 3G phone. But the same video on my Atrix which is supposed to be 4G takes forever to load a video and then when it finally plays the picture looks terrible with horrible pixelation to the point where I can barely make out what it is I am looking at.
I am running stock FroYo on the Atrix without any tweaks. What is the deal with this phone? Is it the phone or the network? The Atrix shows 3 bars at my house (whereas my Droid X shows 4 bars) so it looks like it's got a good signal to the tower but the network speed is really terrible.
I was so excited to get an Atrix (since I have a tablet that has a Tegra 2 chip in it as well and LOVE it) but after owning this phone for a week I have to say I am beginning to regret getting it.
I haven't tried using at&t data...I just use wick and it is excellent

Can't Wait
Awesome.... just keeps getting better and better!
It's not the phone; it's the network.
I've found out it's the AT&T network. When I posted my rant earlier I found by using the Speedtest.net android app I was only getting around 200kbps (yup, you're reading this right) downstream on my 4G Atrix. When I tried after 7 p.m. local time the speeds improved to between 1.2mbps to 3mbps. So, at the moment, the Netflix app is playing pretty smoothly on my Atrix.
This is my work phone (paid for by work) and I traded in my iPhone 4 for it because it's an android phone (friendly to rooting/customizing) and it's got the two things I've been waiting for in a new android phone (dual-core AND 4G). All in all I'm pretty happy with the phone (wish the screen was bigger) but really unhappy with AT&T's network.
My personal phone is a Droid X on Verizon Wireless which I've had since the midnight launch about a year ago and I've enjoy it rooted and on the Verizon's dependable network - I love this phone. But time moves on and they are about to release the Droid Bionic which is the first dual-core/4G phone on Verizon. I think it drops in a month and I'll be waiting in line to get it.
Hey guys,
I see Android Central is reporting the update pushing to the 4G Xoom's is infact ICS. Build looks to be IML77. I was wondering if anyone got it yet. Also if it was recieved were you rooted and unlocked.
I had a problem where my HLK75 build would not flash and i was not sure why. might have been a corrupted download or something.
In any case here is the Android Central Article. let me know if anyone has got it and if you are root.unlocked or not

Despite how that article reads, I don't think the ICS soak test is pushing to the LTE Xooms yet.

I've only seen those with WIFI only Xooms getting it. And even a link to the WIFI Xoom update has been posted... not 4G/LTE Xoom.
Interesting, will be watching this rather closely. Of course I just rooted and flashed the EOS ICS last night, lol! Oh well, so far I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I'm not as blown away by ICS as some of the others but some things are noticeably better (no more typing lag). Not sure I'd bother with the "official" ICS release since I want root and overclock capability.
I will also be watching rather close for it I'm in between zone and eos
