Our development team who has been assigned to the vibrant seem to have stalled out on interest in porting CM over to our beloved vibrant. I wonder if Samsung will actually release 2.2 before the developers.
Just curious if anyone knows why its moving along so slowly.
I was really hoping to see more fanfare over the vibrant being such a fabulous piece of hardware.
And with that being said.... those who live to rip someone to shreds for talking such blasphemy.... lemme have it.

If you offer to bankroll their efforts, they might be able to allocate more of their time to Vibrant development.
It's moving slowly since the Cyan devs are still working on the MT3GS. All the supplies (I think) are in place since Wes (The Cyan developer for this phone) got a phone to work on.

I am just being patient and know that it will be all worth it when it does eventually gets ported over.

Samsung said "End of September" which really mean "at the earliest." I have little doubt the CM6 team will have a ROM out long before then.

^^ this is correct, once the slide is done we should see some progress :]
in all honesty, if i was them i would wait. Do all the prep work that is necessary and just wait for Samsung to release the 2.2 source to mod from, it would make it that much easier and more compatible.
I say that fully expecting Samsung not to change anything and that means leaving root/clockwork being super easy to implement. Now should that change, then the prep work is done, just have to get cooking
Wes is a fabulous dev. (kicked him some funds back in the G1 dev days.
I think he should toss that slide to the. Curb and work on a real phone.

Plus one on this. The phones got awesome specs to work with. I wish I knew how..lol but ill still try and be patient ...
I could have sworn the evo had roms after a month.. were no where near close to that time frame....
I still don't think Wes should of called that if he got extra donation money for his "laptop" he would purchase a Vibrant and dev for it if he wasn't going to be doing it right away. Since that did kind of help people who has a Vibrant donate for his laptop. I'm glad that there are other talents out there coming into the Vibrant community though.
Saw bbuchacher, justanotherdev, eugene coming along. Hopefully everything will fall into pieces in the upcoming month. And yeah I don't even think myTouch Slide is even popular at all, so iono. Not trying to be impatient or "cry" about it but just speaking justification point of view. Just my 2 cents.
I think most of you guys need to just chill out. Im no where close to being a dev and almost every mod I did on my G1 i've flashed, if you're in the same boat, then definitely need to stop questioning developemnt. If you read closer, or really followed the updates from the other threads, devs and twitter updates you'd see that there is more going on.
Now I can be completely wrong with this, but here is what im getting out of what the current status of Vibrant development is:
-The MTS is currently "first in line" to be caught up to CM6
-The MTS was/is having problems running CM6 being "stable", even with the phone still being manufactured by HTC and Cyanogen working along with side with the devs assigned to it
-Eugene, JAC and others have started to breakdown and develop the Vibrant
-JAC has been asked to merge his work to Github....
Make your conclusions... Donate... Start deving... Shut up... Remember no dev owes you anything.
EDIT: Donation- an act or instance of presenting something as a gift, grant, or contribution... usually not tied to any personal gain.
I keep seeing the "Don't worry when CM6 hits it will be amazing. Don't worry when CM6 comes it will fix the problem."
HTC and Samsung are very different animals. Devs have come and gone as well.
Motorola
HTC
Samsung
You tell me why its going to take so long or be a bit slower? It takes time and there simply has to be a lot of interest from the dev and the users.
I'm just kicking back watching and hoping for the best.

Took me over 2 months for Dell to build a laptop actually, I'm never buying from Dell again.
Still saying, there was a forum thread on the Development forum saying to donate to Wes to get the Vibrant and all that. Kind of a deceiving, im not impatient whatsoever.
Wes still has access to a computer, I believe and is coding for the Slide so it's not like he doesn't have a computer.
I understand that it would look bad on his part if he bailed on the Slide like that. There could of been better outcomes if a developer who was primarily dedicated to porting CM6 to the Vibrant from the very beginning rather than as a secondary objective.
wesgarner and Scepterr are the developers assigned to the Samsung Galaxy S.
I just donated $25. Donate and lets get this phone off the ground.
Thanks for the donations Wes has his Vibrant coming and soon his laptop. Great Job!!

There are a few already in the development forum. Not sure if any of them are "Teamdouche" but none the less they are devs. JAC already said "I'll be moving my stuff to Github upon request" and "As long as I'm credited for my work you can use it."
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!!
what a bunch of cry babies don't worry the Vibrant's turn will come, its definitely a good platform worth doing **** to, a few little things here and there are messed up with the phone but its nothing that hasn't already been addressed.
just be patient, you have to remember that its not like it used to be. Its not just the G1 anymore its a **** load of Android phones with their own issues and with a bunch of cry baby owners just like you lol
the day XDA goes away is the day all of you guys will pull all your hair out. the phones been out for a couple weeks and to be honest i dont think the Galaxy S line sold as well as a lot of other high end devices (EVO,Droid X) so of course devs are gonna go where the masses are.
You think we have it bad? go look at the Captivate section of XDA, they dont have ****, no cases, no roms and out of the Galaxy S line we actually have a decent amount of little morphs and fixes to get us by for now. Be patient dont give up
if you built it they will come
we'l c wut happens lol
I am by no means complaining and am not at all a developer. just a happy android user and rom flasher I just came from MT3G.
I know the Vibrant is new, but with a Galaxy being released on all 4 major carriers, I am honestly surprised a bunch of developers have not jumped all over the Vibrant and Captivate that are out with the 2 others expected soon...I mean this is basically the first time that I know of that virtually the same phone is being released on all 4 US carriers! it seems like a developers dream. are the US galaxy's just still too new?
Going along with that, when Dev start making Roms for US Galaxys, will basically all the same Roms easily run on all 4 US Galaxy variants? basically will they just need some very minor tweaking bc the same hardware? (except for qwerty version)? or will there have to be major modding with the same rom between the different US variants? (if very little tweaking is needed, that is why it seems to me that the US galaxy S versions would be so appealing to dev's)
Lastly, even though ive not rooted mine yet, (mt3g was rooted for the past year), I am looking forward to CM6 like everyone else. But it seems thats mostly what I have seen talked about is CM6. no doubt that the CM team are at the top of the game, but what about developers bringing other Roms too, for example Sense? I am just wondering why most seem to just talk about wanting CM6 when there are tons of other developers and other Roms (coming from my experience with g1/mt3g)?
I know this was a long post, but these topics have been on my mind lately. what do you guys think to any of my thoughts/questions posted above?
The phones haven't even been out a month, give it time. They're drastically different from the HTC setup that most devs are used to, so there is a steep learning curve that needs to be tackled. Also the devs have more then one phone on their plate. They should focus on what they started first before taking on another project, so I expect them to get the slide where it needs to be before starting on the galaxy s.

Guys, we have a custom kernel. That was a huge step. There is significant progress here. JACs kernel is on rev2. We have other good devs outside of the main CM team looking at things as well. Give them some time, this is a whole new way of doing things, they are having to learn how Samsung does stuff. I honestly think we will see a custom AOSP 2.2 before Samsung releases their custom one.
Being a previous samsung owner (behold 2) I don't think that the first galaxy s line will get it. Why??? Cause samsung is already in the process of making a second galaxy s line. Just like in the armed forces how they send out the army first(vibrant, epic, captivate) then the navy, then air forces. Well that's what samsung is doing. If you think I'm just spitting out bull check out the new galaxy s phone sprint is about to get. It is keyboard less and is coming out months after the epic 4g. Why would they need 2 galaxy s phones when they already have 1 with a keyboard and an evo???
I truly think we are gonna get froyo in october but nothing after that. I'm not mad though I'm just gonna get a g2 but this is crazy how phone companies operate these days all due to android fragmentation.

Meh, the dev scene should be fully up and running by that point. Personally at that point I couldn't care less if Samsung doesn't update.
They've already proven that they don't give a **** about their appearance in the world (really, you ship a broken phone to four carriers in the US and to ~30 other countries around the world and expect anyone to take you seriously), so let them continue to shoot themselves in the foot.

Good for you. And again, like everyone else, thank you so much for sharing your personal shopping preferences with us. Without well thought out, logical, factual, and rational statements such as yours the world would be a much worse place to live in. I am sure I speak for everyone here in thanking you for letting us know where you stand and that your presence will truly be missed in the Vibrant community.
We hope you will enjoy your new bug-free,super awesome, no problems at all G2 that is sure to have Honeycomb as soon as it is available as well.

And a HUGE boo hoo back at the 4 crybabies above this post.
Samsung is building a reputation of not supporting their products after the sale.
This is something the community needs to be kept aware of so other people don't make the mistake of buying their hardware with its good looking specs.
I'm fed up with companies releasing product (or more like the product escaping) before it is finished as well.
And as a final comment to the 4 whiners above, if you don't like this thread no one forced you to read it. Do something productive and contribute to the community, even if it is just a warning to future buyers not to buy from a given company instead of trying to tear down what someone else is doing.
I'm starting to think it was a mistake even registering an account on this forum, Lol.
There are way too many fanbois.

Nothing wrong with wanting Gingerbread, and expecting it, if the hardware supports it.
Samsung should manage its product support better. Way better.
Hey guys,
I'm feeling rather enterprising at the moment. The question is, what would it take to get a clean/stock/aosp version of Gingerbread up and running for the Verizon Fascinate? Could an XPrize style reward work? If so how much would it need to be? $1000? less? A LOT MORE? Thoughts? PLEASE ANYBODY, THOUGHTS? I need replys from devs and non-devs... If there is enough interest we could easily setup a prize fund and have it auto-refund people if the prize was not attained within a given time frame...anybody?
/Andrew
UPDATE 1: I'm totally gonna set this up! See my latest post (pg.4) for more details and new questions.
UPDATE 2:
(1) Money is the strongest motivating force that we can use.
(2) Refunds will be available should you change your mind about supporting the XPRIZE.
(3) Waiting for an official release is futile. They are MONTHS behind on a Froyo release, and we will all likely have new phones with HoneyComb before we get gingerbread through official channels.
(4) The CDMA radio is understandable the biggest obstacle, money should at least get people to work more aggressively to fix this or pursue a leak.
(5) beg, borrow, steal, i want a true google experience with the ability to RULE THE AIR, on verizon.
"Can you hear me now?"
come on guys, i can tell this is getting a few views, just add a quick reply and say, that you think this a good or bad idea...please
Sounds appealing, but I don't think this is the ideal phone developers would want to spend time on. I'm using this phone simply as a bridge to the Nexus S.
i can understand the nexus S appeal, but i imagine there are many people who wouldn't want to leave Verizon. In fact i ditched my iphone not only because Steve Jobs is a prick, but more importantly because Verizon has a much better network...

Oh, and it looks like you may not even have a Sansung Fascinate...on verizon...which is the phone i am posting about. Most of the Galaxy S variants are GSM/HSPA phones, the fascinate is a CDMA/EVDO phone and seems to be not benefit as much from the development on the other variants because of its different modem/radio. This is why i think we (verizon facinate owners) need to put some incentives out there...
I like the idea, just not sure how viable it actually is.

Would gladly donate a few bucks for that sweet Gingerbread..
It's a nice idea but I don't think it'll go. We don't even have a working port of 2.2 yet, nor AOSP of 2.2 running on this device... Would I like to see some gingerbread goodness? Why heck yes, but do I think it's possible...? Nope. Best just to wait for OTA release and modify it I say...
...Yes I know with samsungs history we wont see that until android 5.1 but that's besides the point!
I would gladly donate sounds like a good idea if we can make it happen
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Good idea sure
Although I have not done any really really heavy dev work for the platform, I think this is more a question on feasibility. Would I kick in for it sure, breaking totally free of the VZW\Samsung cycle would be great. However without some support or "leaks" making everything work would be a monumental task. At least if I understand the methodology.
i'd give at least $30 towards this..
I'm not going to say its not possible....but more like its not probable. It might get some money hungry devs on the fascinate though (ultimatedroid), so it cant be too bad. Well talk is cheap as they say.... So start the xPrize and see what happens...the worse thing that could happen is probably nothing gets done.
And i apologize right now in advance.... but this doesnt belong in this forum.... lol... i had to. im sorry.
Being a dev, I have to say its more trouble than its worth.
First we'd have to hack up at LEAST the .32 kernel and get froyo running. Without the froyo kernel source, its more of a pain than anything. Getting the system running to be compatible is no where near as hard as Getting the kernel.. That's something different.
I don't know what would be involved in making something like this happen, but I'd throw $50 at it.
Considering we don't have a fully working build of AOSP 2.1, I can't see this happening. Maybe if there is better source released for 2.2 when it gets here it will be easier, but I feel like if that happens, then devs would work on it anyway.
I don't think people realize that we've had aosp froyo all along. What we don't have is our driver specific kernel. We'll have gingerbread the day it becomes available but that doesn't mean anything as we won't have kernel again at the release.
@op you want us build up from the ground like we did with milestone? NONE of us will go through that hell again ever. $1000? haha that amount is nothing considering what we would put in if we were to build it up from the ground again.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
i have seen a prize work
a little history
my first smart phone was the VZ 6900 aka the HTC vogue
a windows mobile 6 phone that never had an "official" Rom or Kernel for android and yet the dev were able to not only build a fully working android 2.2 including getting all drivers to work, and as we speak those same vogue dev are now working on 2.3 builds, mind you i am not a dev and but i know this took a lot of work but a prize is what got the team moving and i would give $20 or more if we could get this going
So among poll responders most non-dev USERS would be willing to contribute some money towards this. Good news, but with only two responders claiming to be developers it's hard to say whether we could really get the interest of developers...perhaps i should PM some people? who are the big shot developers in these parts?
For those not familiar - #NeverAgain Round 1 - May have brought you Froyo.
I was about to press "Submit New Thread" on the Official #NeverAgain Round 2 thread... but consulted those I consider wiser than me and was told to hold off.
At this point, I think I need to know how the community feels.
The reasons I felt strongly for now being a good time:
GB patches security holes (big for me), I want GB Source (CM7 w/ GPS) and I think Samsung would be hurting/listening if we REALLY DID NOT BUY THE TAB 10.1.
So, If #NeverAgain would work, it would take a COMMUNITY (BIG TIME) EFFORT, and it would take NOT buying the Tab 10.1. And telling people not to buy it. That was the whole intent before, we vowed to not buy their products based on lack of support.
A BIG reason to hold off on NeverAgain....
it honestly may not be Samsung to blame. WTF is going on with T-Mobile? Is the merger to blame?
This movement honesty may be better suited against/in addition towards T-Mobile.
It's in your hands.. you decide how we should handle it.
I just ask that you be respectful, think about it, and do not troll.
DO NOT JUST SAY YES WITHOUT CONSIDERING THE FUTURE.
EDIT: I posted the below comment after reading some posts...
Also.... I have thick skin. You are not going to hurt my feelings. I assure you, my only intention is to try and help this community.
Some thoughts from reading the comments:
Again, I'm not saying it's right, but it could help.
I felt like we should address it as a community, so the majority is on board. A movement doesn't work if it's not supported. By addressing it, having rational thought, we all win and are better off for it.
Sounds like the majority agree it's not right, or the right time. Good. Now the community needs to decide, what is next?
Wait? Question T Mobile? Assume we're the red headed step child of the Galaxy variants?
If not this... What?

...Larry King?
^ not a thread for jokes.
Certain developers
I'm not sure I see what the Tab has to do with this? Honestly, they're pumping out so many new devices at this point I have trouble believing that they'd even care. I mean how many Vibrant owners are even left, I wonder.
Personally, I've already decided against another Samsung device since the first, and original fiasco. Not to mention the whole GPS thing. It's just not OK with me that I purchased a defective product and neither T-Mobile or Samsung seems to care. In fact it was like pulling teeth just getting a replacement device when something completely unrelated went wrong. This, of course, is T-Mobile's fault, but nevertheless it's BS. At this point T-Mobile will be lucky if I stay with them, especially with the Death Star lurking to buy them out. Ugh. I left ATT for greener pastures, dammit.
So, anyway, my point is I'm still riding the original NeverAgain train. Do whatever, I'm down to ***** and complain some more.
This should be a #NeverAgainTMobile thread. There are a bunch of leaks for other devices on other carriers and internationally, the SGS has GB in many countries.
Id hold off a bit to #NeverAgain Samsung. They gave devs some SGS2's and used open source drivers, etc.
They aren't the problem. Carriers are the problem.

Def agreeing with this, #NeverAgain round two. I recently switched away from my Vibrant because of the lack of updates and support from Samsung. Its almost like we have to file a class action in order to get an update.
To top things off, they are continuing their "forced upgrade" mentality by releasing 2.3 for the SGS4G but nothing for the Vibrant, even though there is very little difference between them (its slightly different but minor).
Even worse, they think that because they gave ONE CM developer a SGSII that they have made up for all the mistakes they have made w/ previous devices, and publicized it like it was the second coming. What about the hundreds of developers that were working on SGS devices before the CM team wanted anything to do with Galaxy S devices (TeamHacksung needed to make an entirely seperate git for their port of CM).
Personally, I am done with Samsung, but I have a bunch of friends and family that are using Samsung Android devices that shouldn't get left behind
So.... #NeverAgain

They gave ONE developer a SGSII, and ignored everyone else. Also, a leak is not a official update, and doesnt make it to the majority of users. They need to officially update via KIES or an OTA. Lastly, TMobile just updated the SGS4G to 2.3.3, so the issue is still almost entirely Samsung's IMO. None of the US variants have an official release, and considering the phone is not even a year old, thats pathetic.
We haven't gotten ANYTHING from TMO or Samsung.
"but we got GPS" that leak was for Vibrant4G we're just lucky it worked for us.
Definitely. [insert french accent here] We're the resistance!
I think something needs to be said. EVERY other SGS device has Gingerbread except us. WHY? I think we deserve to know why we aren't being supported. Whether it's because of the merger or something else entirely.
Well I'll get flack for this, but I say no!
I mean, they gave in for Froyo, but lets face it. When we buy our Phones, don't go into the sell for what they might do or get.. but for what they can do at the time of sell...
the other reason, Samsung has shown support to the Dev's in recent events & starting another campaign to me is like spitting in there eye.. You also have to remember TMO Dropped the Vibrant for the Vibrant 4G, so any support / updates are carrier dependent but samsung might update it... who knows....
Just my 2 cents & not worth much, just give them a bit more time.

I think they still sell the vibrant. regardless I see no harm from giving then some pressure. why not try to squeeze at least one more update out of them?
Im with CallipH but im also with Eugene, its kind of weird that they started on updates for every other device except the Vibrant, but maybe their doing there work in order. Like i think the Epic 4G was the first phone to see a leak, now the Captivate, most likely it'll be the Fascinate next then us Last. I see it as "Better Late Than Never". It'd be cool if it was early like with FROYO but we just have to hope we get it and if we don't get GINGERBREAD the obvious reason is the Galaxy S 4G. Thats the only possible and reasonable reason. But all we can do is wait and see. Patience is the Key.

The leaks were not leaked by Samsung for you. They were leaked by Samfirware.com. They are NOT meant for public release. I don't know why everyone is saying other phones have Gingerbread... because they don't. Only the I9000 has Gingerbread.
I do not think Never again is the right format, Maybe a better format is "We are the loyal and you want to keep us that way heralding Samsung as the Phone of Phones"
I think this may be a better tact and if they do not respond Then go the #neveragain......attack..........

Yeah i knew before they even released the Galaxy S 4G leak what was going down. I didn't know that there was no builds yet for the Vibrant. But its weird that no one has started building Gingy for the Vibe yet, I think a lot of people know that these aren't official or even released by Samsung but by Samfirmware, I suppose their suspicious of why the Vibrant don't even have a build yet when we were the first to see FROYO. Or was it the Captivate? I don't remember but we were 1st or 2nd.
I think the real problem with #NeverAgain is that Samsung makes some really great devices. The Tab 10.1 and the SGS II are the best tablet and phone, respectively. Saying that I won't buy them when they blow the competition out of the water is tough.

The leaks were not leaked by Samsung for you. They were leaked by Samfirware.com. They are NOT meant for public release. I don't know why everyone is saying other phones have Gingerbread... because they don't. Only the I9000 has Gingerbread.

Great point, but would they start development to abandon it half way? They will at least get it at some point, where as we have no evidence that they've even started for us. I'm all in for neveragain.

Principles. You need them.
I was thinking the same thing with the neveragain round 2, I say just wait a little bit longer, maybe till the beginning of next month and then do it, there is nothing to lose, they need to put pressure on t-mobile since I'm sure its all t-mobile's fault due to all these new phones coming out.
but instead of ssaying we won't buy a galaxy tab 10.1 just say anything samsung branded

Serious question on serious time. Why the hell doesn't samsung wanna help us port CM7 to our epic's or anything for that matter? they give a CM7 team dev a SGSII but wont let us port CM7? our freakin epic's are gonna be end of the line not to long from now. it's been what 2years+ for this phone?
</rant>
by all means whats going on?!?! where like the ONLY phone who doesn't have these things. (MIUI,CM7, True AOSP, Ext...)

Perhaps official GB will help answer this question. Most Dev's have pointed out they're awaiting source to continue Development on these ROM's and/or ports. If we dnt move forward in development once official GB drops, along with source, then that's when we should really panic IMO. I feel you tho, our phones are top of the line but with such things lacking, it really makes it frustrating for us to believe as such.

Why WOULD Samsung want to help us extend the lives of our phones? Can you answer that? They want to make money. They have probably the nicest Android phone for at least the next 6 months hitting market this summer and all indications are that it will supported fully by developers. Why would they shoot themselves in the foot and give 10 million Galaxy S owners a reason NOT to upgrade to their latest and greatest superphone?

Thank you for the obvious statement. I wish I was as smart as you.
As to your rhetorical question, by helping there BUYERS and FANS, they become far more reputable by doing so. it seems pretty obvious that they wanted CM7 ported for one reason. which we should know already.
I think Samsung missed the chance to be more open. They draaaaaagggged their feet with froyo, completely bungling the whole ordeal, and squandered a HUGE chance with the HTC locked bootloader fiasco. If they had gotten a release out (even a semi-borked one or leaked build with source) that the community could have rallied around, it would have been much easier to take advantage of HTC dabbling in locked bootloaders. Instead they dropped the ball. Now HTC has felt the backlash and recovered. They might lose a few customers at launch on the Evo 3D but they will get them back when/if they update it to be more open.
Samsung earned a lot of respect from me by releasing the source before EB13 was actually rolled out, so that I was running a custom overclocked ROM before my friends with un-rooted Epics had froyo. But it was very very close to too little, too late, and past the point of squandered opportunity.
That said, I still think the Evo 3D is a gimmick phone, and will be taking a wait and see approach for the next 6-8 months.

I feel you frustration my friend. I don't have the answer for you. What I do know is that apparently Samsung has learned from their mistakes with the Epic and have addressed them with the GSII devices. However, why they don't "fix" the mistakes made with the Epic is a mystery to me.
The only advice I can offer is that as frustrating as it is to have our investment not properly supported it is just a phone in the end. I have recently realized just how stressful this whole phone thing is anymore. Perhaps once CM7 is ported to the GSII it will help pave the way to get it on our Epic's. I don't know as I'm not well versed in CM7.
Sorry if this doesn't help but if you have a specific question, I will relay it to SamsungJohn when I speak with him next.
@-ptfmedic actually it's the reason why i'm ranting. I've never used CM7 before!
So ptf your getting a SGSII? if money allows it?

At some point that would be the goal. WAY better investment the the Evo, at least IMO. The frustrating part is that the Epic has SO much life left and people are moving on. Freakin Best Buy is clearencing the Nexus 4G already. It's $49.00 and I don't even know what to say to that.

Are you sure it's not just a sale?
In any case Best Buy can't push mobile phones the way the actual carriers can.. I've heard the Nexus S 4G is one of Sprint's best selling phones, no not the best but one of.
Let's face it how many of us go to Best Buy when it's time for a new phone...
On a side note... don't let the Nexus S fool you. I drank the Nexus kool-aid, and it's pretty much the most fantastic Android experience I've ever had.
Once you go Nexus you might not ever want anything but the next Nexus... I know that's what happened to me, and I originally bought it thinking I would sell it after checking it out and make a quick dollar (was able to get it 200 off contract). Activated it for a few days and the tune changed entirely It's got it's quirks (no sd?! no 720p?!) but it really is very very good.
am i missing a huge story here? is samsung harassing the ppl who are working on porting cm to the epic?
or are you suggesting that samsung should take their own time to port it over, breaking countless agreements with sprint.

To develope stuff like cm7 for any phone. You need the hardware drivers. Its the stuff that tells us how the core parts work and operate.

It's not in Samsung's interests to do any more to aid the development community than to release source code (which they are already obligated to do, they just do it sooner than they have to). We are not a large enough minority to hurt their bottom line while being the most expensive since we are most likely to brick our phones somehow and lie our way to a free replacement.
Samsung has engineers that are educated and gets 200 grand a year.
You, "developers", just copy machine. They don't care about you, you are a themer, hacker, and modifier. Many people in the CyanogenMod and Linux kernel team have a degree in computer science/software engineering.. if you are asking for help, you are clearly not a developer..

I don't believe they're asking for help w/ porting CM7, I believe they're wondering why Samsung won't be more cooperative and open with source code and drivers so the 'developers' can work.
And, for the record, I don't disagree with your statement, I'm just clarifying.
the only help samsung can give at this point is to release a GB source!
