I must be wrong, but every time I see someone in this forum, I assume he is a guy. I must be wrong. Are there any girls here?

I've been checking out XDA since way back when I first got my FUZE. So much great info here. I rooted my FUZE and was very happy with the results. Now I'm enjoying the EVO. It's nice to see that there's at least 1 other girl on here! LOL.
My gf has a Evo too (She switched from a iPhone) and she is in love with Android and loves having her phone as she says "hacked" but we know as rooted. She doesn't know about XDA though, I just install the cool stuff for her

My ex couldn't even figure out my iPhone, yet somehow my 62 year old mom figured out how to use her evo and start texting, too!

There are some woman here. Not sure how many though. My wife has my old hero and is eying my evo for when I grab the next best thing in a few months.

I don't believe that hacking phones is a "girly" thing to do. or is it? I do wonder about some of you guys though.....
Just like you wouldn't really expect alot of girls to be drag racing. There are a few. And these girls are one of a kind.
I don't mean to stereo-type any women here....but it has been my seeing that most women prefer more of a girly like life sytle.... very rarely have I ever met a women who care about how fast a phone is.. how many gigahertz it has, how much RAM or the difference in kernels or software let alone all the technical b.s. we throw in between. But it is nice to see them around. For example... I serve the country in uniform, and while yes they are here in uniform. They don't much care for technical details of there job. They just show up and do what is asked of them. Nothing more. And again while most are wrapped up with clubs and fashion and what have you there is a small handful of them that do surprise us.... glad to see at least there are surprises here.

Thankfully Samsung is handling this ad and not Sprint. Not as good as the Vibrant ad (Avatar helped) but it will certainly garner attention that's desperately needed.
That commercial is awesome, it makes me want the Epic and Halo: Reach more. Both are gonna be Epic!
I think the commercial was stupid, but not any worse than other phone commercials.
Starts out with intense Halo action cut scene, *but wait* its actually video thats being played on a cellphone!
Don't really say anything about the phone itself other than the s.amoled screen. Nothing mysterious like the Verizon Droid commercials that leaves a lingering sense of curiosity.
More like they are saying "look at this awesome game coming out, now look at this awesome phone!"

I agree. I thought the commercial was kinda dumb and I doubt anyone will buy the phone based on that.
Looking back ... Samsung/ Sprint let this phone get steam rolled by the Evo ....
just wasn't right .... then i think we all remember the whole Froyo wait they promised it a month after release but ended up taking a few months well.... then we said "oo they took so long with Froyo ... they're sure to release GB soon" ... Lol look where are we now -_-

I had an Evo, I couldn't get past the compromises HTC made on hardware and build quality, as well as laggy interface issues.
Now with the Epic, I don't have to make those compromises, everything's like butter and it feels solid, no screen separation issues here.
I have both, the Epic grows on me more and more everyday. And by the end of this week, it'll be my daily driver. Gonna activate it and use my Evo as an MP3 player.

To be honest... when I pick up my EVO now, it feels like an old piece of junk. And you can make it look however you want. Just load in another launcher.

I personally cant wait to see how developement goes for the Epic. My EVO is flying at the moment thanks to the great developers on XDA. Hopefully beofre too long my Epic will be the same, if not better! We shall see

Shouldn't we have lots of development already done on this thing? I mean, it came out Tuesday folks. You expect me to sit on my butt idly waiting till next week or something? If I've gotta wait till October, I'm canning this thing and going back to my Palm III.

Haters lol, I own both of them read the post. I let my wife use the epic. All I asked is where is the development. And yes WOMEN like themes. And flowers. And romance but I guess that is gay 2. All I was stating is that the development for the evo was like bammm and still is. Whereas the epic is like blahhhh. Even the threads barely move. I'll go check over at sdx. The difference is night and day. Our screens really do pwn the Evo's.
Development is kinda' now because the Evo was barely released a few months ago then the Epic came out.
If the Evo had been released a few short months after the Nexus One was released, development for the Evo would be on par with development for the Epic at this time. Hypothetically speaking.

naww but really the epic has been out for 4 days now and we've made great strides so far. The hero took about 4 weeks to get root and another 2 weeks to get its first rom. We have good devs that re willing to sacrifice their phones to try to bring these things here. So its no problem for me to wait patiently!

Well ladies and gentleman I did the unthinkable. I was going to hold out for the galaxy s2 but I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the EVO3D. I just want to say thanks to devs, trolls, mods, friends, cool kids, baby mama's and daddies, all the people who accepted the GB OTA especially the one guy who keeps making accounts asking for root, people who helped me, people I helped, people who annoy me, people that love team win, people that despise team win, people that create pointless threads like this one, and anyone else I left out that made these evo forums awesome!!! See you on the other side.....

@dased yeah i couldnt wait lol and @matty i hate sense also but the speed of the phone makes 3.0 awesome. I cant espress enough how much i really hate these camera buttons on the phone I could have really done with out them. Im amazed how cool the 3d technology is man I talked **** about 3D but boy is it cool. Missing my kickstand as we speak......

The camera button bothers you only because you aren't used to it. After you get used to it, if you use the camera, you're gonna love it.
I didn't know you ever had a kickstand to begin with....zing!
The fact that on the evo 3d the charging port/ hdmi port is one in same makes it a no go. At least with evo 4g you can stream Netflix, HBO go and other internet streaming sites while still charging the phone makes it a plus. That phone will be 99 bucks after Christmas.

Being a over the road trucker must truck stops have free high speed wifi. I have a 387 peterbuilt truck with a 32 inch flat screen mounted so streaming movies saves a ton on entertainment. They want 26.99 for a new release DVD... No way.... So for me the evo 4g is where I will be parked for a while and if I do upgrade I will still keep the phone for that purpose ... I think there will be much better phones offered in 2012.

The cool thing with me is that by the time I upgrade in January, the devs will have rocked the 3D and the S2 so I can just step in, "root the *****" and start playing, like i did with the Evo.
Hell, they may have a root for the Evo 2.3.3 by then, too! lol

Same here. I cannot stand Sense. I actually played with an EVO 3D, and comparing it to my rooted, fully decked-out AOSP running phone, honestly it wasn't much faster either.
I'm sure it will be blazing once root is achieved and it has proper support, but my LauncherPro was certainly faster than Sense 3.0, apps loaded about the same speed, the browser pinch to zoom was almost exactly the same.
I'm sure for flash videos and graphics-heavy games it would certainly make a difference, but aside from that, a rooted EVO 4G easily matches the speed of a stock EVO 3D.
