Sensation is horrible - Vibrant General

Ive tested my dads sensation and it was very good the first few days. After about a week or so it lagged and became unresponsive. Whdn I ever I tried to flick the screen for tye corossal tye screen didnt move it all, it sometimes just moves a little and goes back. The lockscreen ring becomes unresponsive. When I pick it up it bounces back down. I know this a vibrant, but I just had to say it.

The phone is pretty good, but after a week it slows down and becomes unresponsive drastically. There are barely a few third party apps installed on it.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App

Ive just tried to use the phone app and after I type in a number it took a while for the screen to respond to it.

I ve had absolutely no problems with it at all.. I did learn to turn fastboot off because if you dont, when you power down your phone, its like its in hibernate instead of actually turning off. I think this is the majority of peoples problem with this phone.

I guess you should root and install custom ROM then use it for a week.

cmon, is it really that bad after a week with those specs? i know its the first batch of phones and all. maybe a simple reboot may help once in awhile but i can't imagine all the phones being unresponsive after minimal use.

No problems here either ;-)

No problems with my Sensation.
No problems with my Sensation. It is super fast. You may want to try turning off fast boot and rebooting the phone. I've had it since day 1 that has been available and has been super fast ever since. No lag whatsoever.

HTC ranting
me and one of my friends were on HTC's facebook page blasting them and on they responded to our ranting.

Correct. Turned off fastboot and the system started behaving the way it should. I've had mine since Friday and don't regret it one bit. I think this thread is not titled correctly. I love my Vibrant, but i'm liking the Sensation even more. The Sensation isn't a huge jump performance wise from the Vibrant, but it overall feels more powerful. It doesn't get bogged down, and browsing on it feels nice and solid. I'd buy it again.

Hows the size difference compared to the Vibrant? Meaning is it a huge difference in size or just minor. Haven't had a chance to lay with one and wonder if its too big.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App

I had both side by side same size, sensation is thicker but it is round and you don't feel the thickness it feels better in hand than vibrant I hate screen on sennsation colors are washed compared to vibrant and vibrant is lighter and a lot cheaper too.

Lol, the last thing you want to do is to compare any non-SAMOLED screen to a SAMOLED. I miss the vibrants screen (not pixel density), but by itself the sensation does have a nice screen. It's black aren't as black, and it's viewing angles are the best but it's still good.

I liked the sensation when I played with it. That sense3.0 or whatever looked pretty cool and I'm not really a sense kinda guy.

Not really. It's just some people don't mind it and others do. Nobody's hinge is as sturdy as a Droid or G1. It's not designed to be that way.

Coming from a BB 9700, the phone is just great. The market kills BB's, this phone is way faster stock. Thought at first the move to the G2 was going to be a little overwhelming, and to think 3 weeks later I would gather the balls to permroot it and run a custom rom is fascinating. This device is the coolest thing I've got my little grubby paws on to date.

I don't mind either layout.
But I am extremely annoyed that there is more than one layouts. Google should force the manufacturers to standardize it so its the same on all android devices. I switch between 3 android devices frequently and its annoying as hell.
One of my devices is a dell streak, which doesn't even use the right amount of buttons, the right icons, or the correct placement of any of the buttons. Going from a HTC phone to a Moto Phone to a Dell Steak makes me press the wrong buttons quite a bit.
I've been waiting for this thing for a long time. it looks so sexy.

I agree about the concern regarding the lack of developer support. We know the tremendous level of support the Evo 3d is receiving. Based on track record, the 3d will be running 25 different versions of custom Roms based off Ice Cream Sandwich before the Epic Touch gets it's first.

Have you grown used to the Note's size?

I have...lol Doesn't really seem like such a HUGE phone anymore. Just seems normal....lol The only time it seems huge again is when i pick up other peoples phones. My wife's Vibrant seems small now.....and the other day i picked up a iphone and damn near cried....lol The last time the Note's size amazed me was the first time i booted up GTA 3...lol I honestly NEVER see myself going back to a smaller screen i can tell you that. I'm so used to it that now when people freak out when they see it....it's almost annoying/old.....i'm like get over it...this should be the standard...lol
I'm used to it now more or less. Only had it for 3 days now.
Its awesome for gaming. Just the weight and size. And the screen is gorgeous as we all know. I can even use it one handed amazingly to write all kinds of text input. So yeah I'm used to it. I've got medium to small hands by the way. Have not touched my nexus or transformer ever since I got it.
I showed it to a few people at work today and they were all shocked...lol.

Just feels about right
It took me quite a long time to get use to my Galaxy Note to be honest. Probably a couple of weeks, but I am quite a small person with small hands. Now, I kind of forget it's huge, but people's responses remind me. Some have found it odd, others seemed quite interested. It's funny because people were always saying how huge my HTC Desire HD was and now that seems tiny in comparison. I admit initially I had some regret but now I'm really getting use to my Galaxy Note, although I do miss being able to use a phone with one hand

It's the ideal device for prompting "That's what she said!" opportunities.
Had my Samsung Galaxy Note for a full day now and I'm still getting use to size. The only problems I'm having with is one-handed use as well typing in landscape mode. I noticed I had to slow down my typing, so there wouldn't be any typos. Hopefully I adapt or find an app that gives me a smaller keyboard, so I don't have to reach as far to hit the letters.
Another thing I should be getting use to is having random strangers ask me what is that thing? Is it a phone or is it a tablet? IT'S BOTH! That's how I respond.
Other than that, I love the big screen size! Great experience.

Samsung Conquer 4G (opinions)

So this has nothing to do with the epic, but I was told I was getting a brand new conquer 4G as a gift. I tried finding its forums to see what's up with the phone but it seems likeit doesn't have its own section(or I can't find it)? So I just wanted to know what you guys thought about that phone? Would it be easy to root it and make it better or is it already a great phone stock?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
i have a friend that has one. He loves it, its not rooted or anything so dont have a clue about development for it. he likes it but of course he is jealous of my phone because of how badass it is...
My lady's sister has that phone. There isn't much development for it, and no official section for it on xda last I checked. There is some basic rooting info for it in general I found once. There is also another site you can find with google dedicated to only that device. As of a few months ago there were one or two roms for it.

Its size seems pretty nice to carry and have with me so I'm looking forward to getting it. And I found a way to root it, its actually the same way I rooted my epic on froyo. But I couldn't find no roms or anything for it.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Coming from a tech perspective, I never see them come in for repairs though they may be indicative of little we sell of them, it's still a great little phone, probably one of the best for your money in terms of an entry level phone. Budget level android phones have come a long way, and the Conquer is a great example of that.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
So one more question. What would you perfer the conquer or original evo?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
My son had one until it went through the washing machine. Great budget phone in my opinion. The lower screen resolution compared to my Epic was the only noticeable difference, that and it was running a more vanilla flavored Gingerbread without TouchWiz.

I've heard the "Beats" audio, it's mostly enhanced bass and tweaked treble. Was not extremely impressed.
As for my new GSIII, I like it. Came from a flashed GSI. The improvement is alot more than coming from an older laptop to a state of the art one...
Yeah, I rooted it a few hours after getting it.
I came from the Aria, so the difference is pretty significant. I will say that I think the screen is ever so slightly too large. I think 4.3-4.5 inch displays are the perfect size.

Happy, mostly... Wish I wouldn't have had the evo to play with first, grr... That camera knocks this one's dingle in the dirt, the display is much nicer, and the devs are killing that thing, lol, I'm sitting here with my rooted phone and thumb up my arse wishing I knew how to dev cause we have not one Damn Rom... On the other hand I do like playing with Samsung as it's a tad different than HTC. It feels maybe a little better than evo in my hands, in a strange way, the phone feels a little cheaper so I'm not as worried to use it like it's intended. This thing gets hot and has performance issues and hopefully all my "issues" are all software related... It does have removable battery which is huge for me as I like to keep a few extra batteries charged and ready to go, HATE to be tethered to a wall. The sound on this thing is really loud and clean, really appreciate that... The digitizer is a bit spastic at times but that might just need tweaked as well... It does have 2GB's of ram:-~ lol, I don't know any Sammy devs either, did they all go to evo??? Lol, Need to flash something, going through withdrawals:-o I also don't have any of the display having the black spots or weird colors so maybe I got lucky for once... Ramble, ramble...

I have an evo lte too and it's screen + camera is beautiful. I just got my s3 in today and I'm sure they will be more devs when everyone is actually able to get the s3. I mean I pre-ordered mine on the 7th and it didn't even come until today with all the shortages.
Give it time, the devs will come here =)
