Found this over at the EVO forum. However, ##DATA# does nothing on my nexus. There should be however, same menu and access to edit these features. Anyone knows hot to get to them?
*#*#debug#*#* (*#*#33284#*#*)
You won't be able to change the WIMAX values though, they appear to be locked down.

Ever since flashing the rooted 2.2 update, I can't enter an MSL when I use a dialer code like ##DATA#. It recognizes the code and gives me the View / Edit choices, but when I select Edit, the keypad isn't active and I can't type in the MSL.
I know there was a different Froyo issue with non-Sense ROMs not recognizing the code in the first place, but that's not this.
I really need to put my tweaks back in for 4G, but can't. I won't get too worked up about this till I try it with the final build, whenever the rooted version of that hits.
Anybody else seeing this, or is it just me?

I have the unrooted version and have no issues. Did you tap on the input box? Sometimes you have to tap on the box to bring up the keyboard. If that doesn't work, press and hold menu. That's the keyboard shortcut in Android. Other than that, did you uninstall any built in apps? That could possibly cause a problem, depending on what you took off.
Got it!

Ah - got it.
The problem was, it was putting up a "helpful hint" that said something like "tap the Back-Arrow to close the keyboard". That little dialog had input focus, not the keypad. I had to click the X button on that to get focus to the keypad. It wasn't there in 2.1 so I wasn't used to having to dismiss it.
It doesn't show up now - I guess it was a 1-time hint.

Oh yeah, I remember that now. Totally wasn't paying attention when I did it Friday night to fix my 4G. Glad I could help.
Has anyone figured out where these default settings are located so we can get this stupid thing off of the dock bar?
lol tell me about it. Can't wait to get that damned thing off there. It will probably be doable but probably with a custom rom I'm guessing? Hopefully it can be done somehow for those that don't want to flash roms, etc. Good question though
I just wish I could find the file that sets that button. I've been tearing apart rosie and everything else that looks like its related and going through xml after xml. Just haven't found anything yet... Looks like all the standard sense stuff is there, it's just overridden by t-mobile's themes and their preset buttons.
I would love to see anything & everything relating to Faves removed from this phone.

ME TOO!
i changed the Genius button to short press = google search and long press = genius button.
now all i need is this freaking faves dock button.
its so USELESS!!
Just to start. Yes I have exhausted my search before asking. I am looking to improve call quality by switching to EVRC B. However using
Tried: **772
SPC code 000000
The bottom of the screen will have buttons that are directional like a d-pad.
Tried: Go into the Dialer and enter *#83786633 then press the Home key
Go back into the phone dialer and enter *#22745927
Now a box will come up asking for the SPC code. Enter 000000
Press the Hidden menu Enable radio button.
I am erasing the first entry before entering the second and im not pressing send..... the spc box never pops up for either
However I can get into testing and long shut down button enabled menus, however I can't get into gps testing (mine works fine) or others.
All I want is to switch to evrc b and volume controls to see if it helps. There has to be a difference between the verizon and telus code dialers.
Any help is much appreciated!, love the phone, but it should be a phone first everything else second not the other way around.
Phone is a telus fascinate, not rooted.
no one on telus?
Are you on 2.2? I noticed that on 2.2 some of the "secret codes" don't seem to work and just give you a blank screen. However try installing SGS Tools. The dev pulled the app from the market because he doesn't have time to fix all the bugs, but the secret codes when launched from this app work for on my phone. You can get the last version on this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=775154
I am on 2.2, I can access some codes but not all I can never get the spc box to pop up but let me try this! I was starting to get frustrated.
non rooted I must add
Well, unless im missing something there is no vocoder option. I have been able to get into most this stuff using codes but not vocoder
I had an old Samsung Instinct (thank God I switched) and had messed with some of my settings to get video streaming working better. With the Evo 4G, I've noticed that the same options appear to be available, dailing ##DATA# brings up options to either view or (if you know your MSL) edit data options. I've also seen that ##RTN# brings up what appears to be phone statistics, like lifetime data send/receive, lifetime phone calls/time, activation date, stuff like that.
I don't know what all there is to do with these settings besides maybe a couple tweaks, but has anyone messed around to see what all there is with these?
I have only tested on the Sprint N3 so far, I will test on the T-Mo version later.
In the past, Note 2, S4, etc., I was able to enable the ICS-style soft key by using the qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 trick. When I apply that on the N3, the System UI crashes constantly.
Is there a way around this? Is this a situation where the System UI is missing the icons or something else? I would very much like to have the soft keys back...
Thanks.
Edit: It has become clear that I will need to edit SystemUI to add the missing parts to get this to work. Please see post 5 below.

I am curious as to why you would want the soft keys back when the hardware buttons work with the s-pen and you should be able to reprogram the function of the hardware button if you have root.

Preference. The hardware Home key is mechanical and the "feel" is different. I like having the consistent touch experience of the on-screen soft keys. I especially miss the ICS customizable soft keys where I was able to customize the location and menu, but that is another story.
In my N2s, I turn off the backlight to the hardware keys and used the on screen soft keys. Worked well for me.
Oh yea, the soft key/NavBar also provides a dedicated button for switching between apps that the hardware doesn't.
I found that the S4 needed its SystemUI edited to enable the NavBar. At the very least, the images are missing. I believe the same goes for the N3. See this post:
[GUIDE][MOD] Enable navigation bar 4.2.2
I can use some help on porting the edits to N3. Anyone?
I've been looking for a solution for a long time now and now finally, I found it!
Thanks! Let me know how it works out for you
Did anyone get this working?
Could someone provide the SystemUI.apk?
Shameless bump. I've read the guides but it's all a little over my head. I really want soft keys, its the last piece of the puzzle to get the phone that way I want it to be. Anyone willing to help out?
