So 2.1 finally came out for Alaska Carriers ACS and AK Digitel/GCI.
I have already rooted my phone using the pre-release sprint ruu and have been enjoying app2sd and oc. But I really would like to have mms, is there a way to push the mms info from the official ruu to my phone? MMS is more important to me then having app2sd and oc. I am pretty sure I won't be able to root my phone if I go to the official 2.1.
I am still new and I was just wondering if that would even be possible. And if it is how I can go about to trying it.
I too am in AK, and on acs. Not worried about mmsc just yet. Release isn't even a day old. Be patient co-padawan learner the force is strong with us . No really we have people on our network working on that cuz they want it to and have tools and know how that you an me don't seeeee? We need to be patient, its gonna happen.

There's something I saw around here that extracts the rom.zip from the update. Use that and flash the rom.zip in recovery. Then, flash Jus10o's build of Toast's kernel, and voila! MMS, Overclock, and root.
Here is ACS mmsc server:
I haven't gotten this working yet though.
here is acs radio update as a signed zip that i made:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=351840&d=1277837589
and here is ACS rom.zip (renamed for users putting on sd to update a stock phone)
the rom.zip contains a recovery img and radio updates, when flashed from recovery will it ignore these?

I don't think it will ignore them. Pretty sure it needs rebuilt, rooted and SU added before things we are used to work right. Personally still awaiting the 2.1 RUU from my carrier (Appalachian Wireless) before I dive in and try all this out for myself. I could be wrong but I wouldn't just go and flash it.
Alright guys, no promises but I've been wanting to start dev'ing for the Hero.
Give me a list of what you want, and I'll see what I can whip together.
btw, the update for "acs" and "gci" are the same update file, exactly the same number of bytes! also digging through it there are images for several lower 48 carriers, so i think its the same update for ALL non sprint carriers. when i did an apn backup from a phone with the RUU applied i got 38 different values!
as far as what to see from a rom based off this release? deodexed and SU with a overclock kernel should be good. really anything else can be added in after install to suit tastes.
So I followed this tutorial to get try and get mms working on my phone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5252563&postcount=72
I was able to send one mms so far but the person that receives it gets 9071111111 as the phone number.. Anyone know how to fix this?
It also looks like I am unable to receive any mms messages
who is your carrier? What ROM are you using? I'm on ACS and have tried the mmsc settings with Zen, Buufed and the sprint deodexed rom all with no success at all with sending, at least yours is going through.
I have been unable to receive mms messages on my hero since the day I bought it, long before rooting. You can try a *228 option 2 update and see if that fixes it, can try calling your carrier about it (just don't bring the phone into them, only over the air stuff) I haven't cared enough to do much about receiving since I cant send.

I am under GCI/Ak Digitel, I am currently using Zen. I did finally receive an mms 4 hours later but I had to go to the website to view it.
I also have been getting horrible signal since the 2.1 update came out. My girlfriend has the same problem and she actually did the official update.
I also used mmsc server "http://mmsc.akdt.dataonair.net/" mmsport "6672" in my settings
digitel is always horrible signal they may have done a PRL update at the same time as their 2.1 update and perhaps they messed up the list? is your prl version the same as hers?

that's odd that it went down in version number. Do you have your original prl from when you rooted? try restoring that prl and see if it helps. I've only worked on ACS phones so I don't have a copy of digitel's prl to offer you.

I actually lost the original prl I had when my harddrive died on my old xp computer.
Have you tried *228 option 2 like ipfreelytech suggested to get prl update, I don't know crap about AK/digitel and don't mean to butt in on you guys. I had to go back to a sense Rom and use that same guide which worked very well to get mms in/out working.

My phone is rooted running Darchdroid v2.7(I just switched to it)

Do you have a friend with a stock phone running new update on your carrier that you could qpst a new prl backup from?

Milestone SBF on Droid X
I have a rooted Droid X that I flashed to alltel's network, however certian things like 3G and MMS were not working so I thought I would try to flash the alltel SBF to the phone and it worked! Kinda...it just isn't booting...I think it just needs to be wiped and SBF flashed again but I'm not sure. Either way now I'm stuck with a phone that I can't boot. Any ideas?
I figured it out...just needed to get into recovery by booting with home button and pressing the search button and wiping...after that I did another wipe and now everything is working perfectly, I think...still have to check the MMS but 3G is working like a champ!
just wanted to leave some important info concerning "STANDALONE GPS"
on my MB810`s i am not activated and have the BLUE TRIANGLE in notification bar with my stock OTA FROYO 2.2.340 or my OTA GB 4.5.596 on both my DX`s
you can not get STANDALONE GPS working if you have VZW and no activation!!!
i flashed to this alltel SBF from above and i have STANDALONE GPS and alot less bloatware from verizon
so we are running android 2.2.1....
is there no GB for this MB809?
i know this is an old thread but i know google tends to lead people to this thread so i needed to post. found out today alltel updated their activation number and therfor or atleast in my area this sbf will not let my activate my phone due to the built in old one. if anyone has any solutions please post it even if this thread is old. im also active in the droidxforums i know many people are eventually going to run into this problem as well.
thanks

what change? what the new way?
No, there hasn't been a Gingerbread release for the Milestone X that the regional carriers use. Hopefully it'll come.
So what's a guy supposed to do to get a DroidX to work on Alltel?
Just flash the Alltel SBF and everything will work just fine. Make sure you don't try to SBF back to 2.2 once you get the 2.3.5 update or it will brick your phone.
Anyone know is there is a Verizon software version that will also leave a brick if you try to SBF to Alltel? I have an X that someone wants me to flash but i'm scared to screw their phone up. It has the 2.3.3 version.

Hello everyone.
I have an original HTC Wildfire and I had done to root, OC, put a series of ROM (WildPuzzle, DK, etc..) And now I brought it to the STOCK ROM.
Too bad that any ROM go to install, and even with the STOCK ROM, there is to send / receive MMS!
I tried everything, even downloading the application "APN Italians" from Market, but ... nothing ...!!!
I do not know what to do, I always "Network general error".
I state that before he started doing various flash ROM, etc.., MMS worked fine!
Who can help me, or simply those who have flashed several ROMs but send / receive MMS working?!?
Thank you.
Ciao...

Mmm... Service Center Number is only for SMS, not for MMS, I think.
However, it seems there is a problem with X AlphaRev causing non-functioning send / receive MMS.
Someone AlphaRev X installed and was able to send / receive MMS?
I succeed with alpharevx but on cm7-rc1 rom, but i had to downgrade radio from newest to one version older...when i find out wich one i will tell you...
And after getting tired of all experimenting, I instaled original ruu, installed s-on again hboot 1.0001, and installed ruu again, and reset phone to default state and mms was workibg like it should...
So either cm7 with older radio, or stock rom...
Hope it helps, I will write youbdown wich radio I flashed on cm7

"installed s-on again hboot 1.0001"... how do I do?
Do you have a LINK with the explanation?
There is the risk of brik the phone?!?
HELP...
To downgrade from AlpharevX hboot to 1.01.0001 follow this instruction it is great:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1160251
1. install wildfire ruu from shipped roms
2. do the guide from link above
3. again install ruu when you downgraded and you're done
after this you have stock rome, with proper setup wizzard at the beginning, all the HTC wallpapers, MMS and internet APN's for your provider (hey... for telenor Serbia it's there no matter what rom i installed stock or kitchen) nad everything works flawlessly also if you follow step by step instruction there is so small possibility to brick your phone that it is not considerable....
I must tell you that me or member who put this guide are not responsible for any damage you do to your phone, so READ CAREFULLY
Cheers

My current setup is as follows:
BUZZ PVT SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.01.1002
MICROP-0622
TOUCH PANEL-SYN3KY_01
RADIO-3.35.20.10
Nov 17 2010,12:08:53
Why should I go from HBOOT hboot 1.01.0001 to 01.06.1002-?
Even if my boot screen shows the S-OFF want to say that in reality are not in S-OFF?!?
I did not understand ...
The problem may be due to the fact that I used AlpharevX when my boot are HBOOT-6.01.1002?!?
Does anyone else understands what this man is talking about??? Sorry mate but i dont quite understand what are you talking about... guide I show to you is how to revert from s-off to s-on, by reverting from alpharevx hboot to stock hboot... also told you that if you whant mms on cm7 you should downgrade radio (be carful there, brick possible if you do something wrong so read carefully instructions) from 3.35.20.20.10 version to one lower... that did trick for me...
I hope that you find solution quick...

You went in 6.01.1002 Hboot when you used Alpharev x to became S-off. They're telling you to go back to 1.01.0001 Hboot that probably was your Hboot before S-off. Pay attention to the numbers.

without problems - alpharevx s-off, cm-7.1.0-rc1 - but only when connection is set to 3g/2g - only 2g has limited support in Poland (play), with this setting (2g) i'm unable sent/receive mms-es
Has anybody solved MMS problems without going back to the old stock ROMS? i mean, we rooted our phone and flashed CM7 or any other ROMs in the first place because we do not want to be tied down, we want to be free. Why go back to that which confines us? We should overcome this minor bump and not surrender.
So, I have a rooted HTC wildfire running on CM7.1.0.1-buzz,
radio 13.55.55.24H_3.35.20.10, s-off of course.
I initially had GPS problems after completing installation but after reflashing a newer radio version, I was able to correct this problem. I am not sure but I think radio also controls the way your phone communicate with your local network, not sure though, and I am at my wits end here trying to find the thread that tackles MMS problems for our device.
Anyway, I hope that there is someone out there who has solved this particular problem and that they post it here. I will still try to solve this problem by myself by reflashing an older radio version or tweaking some network settings, btw, I am using GO SMS as my messenger. I tried using messenger supplied by CM7 but still no success.
If I will be able to solve this problem, rest assured, I will post it here immediately.
So, what do you say guys, let's help each other, please
mms
i had a lot of issuse with this so i thought id input how i solved it. to start off with it i am on o2 uk, and after i switched to cyanogenmod my mms stopped working, now ive heard that some carriers need 2 apn connections to use the internet and mms but o2 only needs one. so i went to their shop and i got the settings and the expert in the shop said that htc wildfires can have issues getting mms to work and sometimes need there ports and proxys set up and stuff. so i tried it with all the right settings but still no joy. but, i deleted all of my apn settings,(there were lots, like 9 or something) so i had none left and then i only inserted the one from the 02 guys and it worked! so it may be you need the right ports and proxy settings, or it might just be that cyanogenmod has an issue with too many apn`s saved. again, just how i got it going ao i hope this helps

Did you SBF to .604 via RSD Lite?
If so, that's what killed your data.
To fix it, SBF to .621 using RSD Lite, then follow this guide:
