Rooted, gingerbreaded, can't remove sprint bloat - EVO 4G General

Get gang, I apologize if this is mentioned elsewhere but I can't find the search on tapatalk.
Ok, just installed the newest rooted version of the gingerbread update. I also have superbox and root installer installed. I went to delete NOVA and BLOCKBUSTER and NASCAR but I can't they don't show in the uninstall programs. I had removed them previously in Froyo. What gives?
Cyphered out on my EVO while I'm out and about.

Try titanium back up to remove them.

New gvoice app...

Just hit the market.
Sent from my Warm twopointtwo EVO.
Will check it out
Using my HTC Evo phone which I'm using Xda app to post
Tried installing it 5 times and it keeps give me the "update unsuccessful" message.
Same here. I'm sure they'll figure it out soon.
You probably have to uninstall old one via titanium backup and reinstall. This happens sometimes when some apps are baked in a rom, and uninstallable using normal uninstallation. I had to do it with my google search, and google map.
Uninstall both with titanium backup, reboot, then reinstall via market.
Just installed fine for me. I am on CM6.
Sent from EVO.
Mine installed fine over the old one. Stock Rooted
I just updated mine over my old version on fresh 3.3

I had to uninstall mine from the /system/app directory in order for it to install
Installed fine for me over the last version on Myn's Warm 2.2. Seems to be much snappier, unlike that last version which was complete crap, slower than snot and crashed like no other. Haha.
Installed, but I don't see anything real special about it.
Uninstalled it then tried to add the updated version and it still wouldn't install. Hmm
Swyped from my EVO
Reboot after uninstall then install

Ghost in the machine (phone)

I resently deleted an App from my phone, but the market still keeps trying to update it. It just sits there saying "downloading" but never does. If I try to cancel the download, the market app crashes. Is there some way to clear this? I have tried going through Root Explorer to locate were this may be stuck, but so far haven't had any luck.
Rooted Droid2 OC'd to 1.3Ghz still on 2.2 w/stock ROM
Thanks,
Scott
Which app was it? I had this problem with pandora but it went away when I switched roms.

It was called Wtfsimfd or "what the f**know should I make for dinner" I just installed it for laughs. But it seems to have cleared up now. I just finished installing the new already rooted and Deodexed.zip sbf for 2.3.2 and that fixed it.
Thanks.

I actually am experiencing this problem currently. I downloaded and installed a sleep sounds app, had it for a couple days, then uninstalled it successfully. But then I go into the market into my downloads the app is in there with a progress bar that just says installing. Its been about a month now and no matter what I do it won't go away. Rooted d2 stock rom no oc. Any suggestions?

My problem app cleared up when I did the 2.3.2 update.
Here's the link to the file and the instructions. I used the deodexed version and it worked perfectly.

Removing games

I know the phone comes with two games pre installed, how can I remove them? I've downloaded an uninstaller app from the market, but it won't let me remove them. Help please?
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
You would have to root your phone. They are pre-installed software much like TMobile app pack, Stocks, etc.
Be cautious of actually removing apps, unless of course you are planning on flashing custom roms.
I used titanium backup to "freeze" apps. It removes them from the application tray, but keeps them installed so you can still receive OTA updates
Hope I helped

Does "freeze" via Titanium do basically the same thing as the method using the "pm disable..." command, or are there notable pros and cons to each method?

Restore protected apps?

I bought photosafe and video safe licenses and always would just redownload and access my files no problem, but on stock dk28 the licenses don't appear in the market and I'm stuck with the trial versions which won't let me hide any photos/vids
But on DI18 and I think bonsai rom, they were in the market place. Also on my friends optimus on metro pcs
So my question is, if I ODIN back to di18 and download em, how would I bring them up to froyo with me?

There is a thread in the development section that teaches how to fix this. I believe shabbypenguin is the author.

I just went and scrolled down and down and down and couldn't find it. I wish the search function worked :/ I remember something along the lines of the market not recognizing our phones on froyo, so we need a n1 signed market.apk to get protected apps on froyo or something like that
If I restore data from di18, what will happen? I never just restore data
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
I wouldn't recommend restoring data from di18 to a froyo rom. There's a couple lines in your build.prop that need to be edited in order for protected apps to show in the market on stock dk28. I'm not at my pc right now so I can't help find the thread.

Its ok you actually helped out a lot more than you know! I'll search for it tomorrow on my computer. Thanks!

You can also use astro file manager to backup any market applications ad restore them when you switch roms
