I know the phone comes with two games pre installed, how can I remove them? I've downloaded an uninstaller app from the market, but it won't let me remove them. Help please?

You would have to root your phone. They are pre-installed software much like TMobile app pack, Stocks, etc.
Be cautious of actually removing apps, unless of course you are planning on flashing custom roms.
I used titanium backup to "freeze" apps. It removes them from the application tray, but keeps them installed so you can still receive OTA updates
Hope I helped

Does "freeze" via Titanium do basically the same thing as the method using the "pm disable..." command, or are there notable pros and cons to each method?

I'm only after installing CyanogenMod and I'm really happy with it but I have two problems.
1) The Android Market is currently not there? I tried to download an APK file, but how do I install it if I can't download an app to do that?
2) I did a backup with nandroid before I installed the ROM, if I restore the backup I made. Does this remove the ROM? I want all my apps back etc. Is there anyway I can make this so it doesn't remove the ROM but instead restores the essential things I backed up?
Thanks
You need to download the gapps file and install then you will have Google apps and market

Second above post. Legally CM is not allowed to include the gapps n the build. I believe they even received a cease and disist order for having gapps standard on the roms.

Yeah, I read that on the internet so I'll try that. Is that why there is no YouTube app etc.? Thanks

If you want to restore all your apps use titanium backup.

I have my Desire Z with S-OFF using ClockworkMod and I tried to use the Titanium at to remove the Bell bloatware. Uninstalling doesn't work because it's part of the system image. So I tried the force remove app with removes it from the system and says will restart the phone twice.
It goes and restarts but it stops at the ClockworkMod bootloader screen. Is there a way around this or a different way to remove the apps? Anyone else run into this problem? I don't really want to go through the whole unbranding thing...
Click menu and go into batch mode and scroll to bottom where u fibd user and system apps...thats how i removed mine

I just retried doing the regular uninstall instead of the force remove again and it seems to have worked. I haven't restarted my phone yet (with fastboot off) but the apps are gone from the app drawer and they didn't do that last time I tried it.
I have the same issue, it appears that the ClockworkMod interferes with the rebooting of Titanium Backup to delete the items. I would bet that if you do a restart the apps will be back on the phone.
I was wondering how to get my apps I previously downloaded on another ROM to automatically restore with a newly installed ROM? My phone is flashed to cricket so I don't know if that has anything to do with it...Sorry for the dumb question....Thanks in advance

Google sync downloads them all. I use adw launcher that allows you to back up app placement on you home screens. Makes it real easy to resetup everything when I flash to a new rom.

Did you also download the free version? Pro download is only the registration key! You need to install both.

No because in order to do a full backup you need R/W Access to the /system and /Data folders
See above you don't have to have root to read only to write.
most of the apps you will back up won't need write access check it out on the market or try it yourself

AFAIK You need root to read from /system and /data/data/ but maybe im wrong. i know for a fact that you need root to even read /system. go check with a file explorer that dosent need root
your right with what your say but for backup you won't need access you don't need to back up system apps anyway.

How to install Titanium backup pro on xperia play
1. Download and install Busyox after rooting
2. Download and install titanium backup
3. Download Pro Version key and install
4. Enable usb debugging (may not be neccessary works on my play without)
5. load program and enjoy
From what I understand it is the process that filters apps that don't work for your phone. However, I've ran carat and it says I need to restart or kill it to obtain 5 hours of battery life. Can I disable it or what can I do? I am running stock rom, not rooted, completely stock. Thanks so much!

Don't know if you're still having this issue a month later.
Based on what you read, you can just disable it. You don't need a filter installer or a method of filter apps for your device. When you attempt to install apps for your device, the play store will let you know before installing that the app is compatible with your device.

Hi guys, are you sure that is the case? That the market app will check? I know it scans for malicious apps now in 2017/18, but what if you install an app on beta from dev's web site?? Durant the Filter Installer then kick in???
Cheers
