Yeah that's weird but that app is actually useful though.
Got the same email, but my work area has little 3G coverage and usually roaming. Tried videochat when it first came out and kept dropping off calls. If the coverage was better in my area I'd prolly use this more often.

I agree, despite the name I use tikl all the time. One of the most used / longest used apps on my phone. It great that it works on all android and iphones no matter what the network. The developer is constantly improving it also. Not sure why there is not pay/donate/adfree version.

Sorry, but this isn't BS. The alert wasn't for the video file, but for a trojan downloaded by the site.
Just a little Google effort would answer your "wtf is VIPRE" ?, but that's ok, here's a link:

If they follow through I'd buy one, always wanted a tablet that wasn't a Tab or an iPad. Having two markets isn't that ridiculous. Isn't there a way for people with rooted phones/jailbroken iPhones that can install the other's market on them?

What makes you say RIMs OS is horrible? The new QNX based OS looks great. It's funny that you are a WebOS fan, and wouldn't be interested in the PlayBook. They are extremely similar in terms of UI.
I've only read great things about their new OS. If you have some articles saying otherwise, I'd be very interested to see it.

This is the guy that was working on hdmi out here, before the mods banned him for asking for cash. Also, teamwin isn't working on their own version, they took the release from Sam, added their own tweaks and released under their group. kinda slimey IMO.
I've been playing with his releases and they're quite good, best i've seen yet. The only complaint i have is you have to flash his modified kernel to get it working and i'm too content with my current kernel.

where did you get the .apk for Oovoo? I've used it for years and always found it better than Skype but couldn't find it for the Xoom. All my family uses Oovoo so I would love to be able to chat with them on the go with this thing.

If any lag it's going to be on the carrier side of it. [Say, when you use 2GB the first two days on Tmobile and go to Edge speeds or the same with Verizon]

Depending, obviously, but was more of a joke than anything. I'm pretty pumped for this though. I know some people are going to be bummed about it being a personal music locker essentially - for the forseeable future - but being able to put up a ton of music is what I really want.

I downloaded the music app from the market just now. It's the same music app that leaked on here a couple weeks ago. I also signed up for my beta pass. I am patiently waiting just like I did for the google voice pass.

Does anyone know if there is FLAC support? If not Subsonic still wins (I was hoping to be able to turn off that subsonic server!)

Word from Google IO is that Google Music will delete user MP3s, if the copyright holder has a legitimate claim against their music being on the server. And it will use the same backend tech to do so as YouTube.
For end users, this means that album/song leaks and pirated music will not be tolerated. And though it seems like it will be difficult to distinguish what's pirated and what's not, Google will probably use that same analysis tech they use for playlists to verify you have the right to upload that track to Google Music (spectral analysis and/or watermarks could expose rips from different sources). And that means if you've happened to download a leak or any unauthorized rip from the internet, then uploaded it to Google Music, it could be taken down.
And not that Google is wrong for doing so, but that will kill the appeal of Google Music for some people out there. [Google IO]
