[Q] Unroot - Wildfire General

Ok, I didn't want to start a thread but I have search for three hours and tried numerous things and i'm confused.
I need an IDIOTS guide to unrooting my phone.
I did a nandriod backup and I have my Standard ROM, I had clockwork but that is gone.
All I want now is the Root gone so I have a standard HTC Wildfire back
I am on Vodafone, UK.
Any help appreciated, i've searched through all the guides downloaded loads of stuff and tried flashing it and it all fails, there seems to be many ways this might work but I can't get passed half of the steps.
If someone could please give me a hand it would be much appreciated.

1.) Create a Gold Card. Follow this guide: http://android.modaco.com/content/general-discussion/305672/creating-a-goldcard/.
2.) Download a RUU that fits your demands and make sure it starts with 2.xx from here: http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Buzz. I recommend you to download this one: http://shipped-roms.com/download.php?category=android&model=Buzz&file=RUU_Buzz_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2_22_405_1_Radio_13_55_55_24H_3_35_20_10_release_160191_signed.exe because that one is indicated WWE, so it should work world wide.
3.) Install it on your phone using PC. (The file you downloaded should be .exe so you just have to plug your phone to PC in charge only mode and start the .exe you downloaded).
4.) Follow the steps provided by the application.
5.) Wait for it to install. Done.
The file you download must start with 2.xx because that is Froyo (Android 2.2) and that will overwrite your Hboot and remove the root access.
Hit thanks if I helped you.

I think if you do a nand backup before rooting, just restore it with clockworld

I am right now looking at the gold card and I need a spare micro SD? Can this be done on the standard phone SD or does it need to be on the micro SD?
Also if I just found the newer version of android and kept the root and flashed the updated rom onto my phone, i know it would still be rooted but it'd be like a normal phone again.. right?

Pulling my hair out now.
This is so frustrating.
I cant download a .zip to the phone as it aborts and I can't flash the standard RUU because I don't have a gold card thing?
I don't know whether or not its safe to use my phone SD card or do I need a new one?
Surely theres a simple way around this! I.e Download and flashing the standard rom to the phone and it just working? I am on the standard ROM now with root, I am happy to have the root I just want the updated firmware!

What happened to your Clockworkmod Recovery? You might want to get that back, because it is the only way you can then install Zip files. Can you provide more details? Is your Wildfire S-OFF? Are you on Android 2.1?
Refer Part 5 of the 1st post of this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1029318
The Safe Flash ZIPs of all Froyo RUU's is what you should be looking at. They are the untouched stock Froyo ROM, with only the bootloader and radio removed. But, you'll obviously need Clockworkmod Recovery to run it.

I don't know, how would I find out? I recovered back to december when my phone didn't have clockworkmod. It was just rooted.
So do I need to reflash the clockworkmod onto my phone? Or is there a way of getting it back?
What is S-OFF? (Sorry..) and yeah, I think it's 2.1.
So once I get clockworkmod and run a RUU with a stock rom on it, It will be gone of the clockworkmod rom? And the root? or just the rom?
Thanks!

Interesting how you have root without Clockworkmod. AFAIK, its not possible. Do you see a Superuser Icon on your App Drawer?
If you are still on 2.1, to get back Clockworkmod, you will have to use Unrevoked. Guide here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824396
Also, if your ultimate goal is removing Clockworkmod and Root and getting official 2.2.1, dont bother with getting Clockworkmod. Just make a Goldcard and flash the RUU then. Yes, flashing an RUU will remove root and Clockworkmod. Also, Goldcards can be any SDCard, including the one included with the phone. But, before using it as a Goldcard, make sure to take a backup because it will have to be formattted.

Tbh, my overall goal was just to get rid of the ROM as it was buggy, and got worse and worse to the extent I couldn't take or watch videos, crashed a lot, etc. etc. Wouldn't download from the market half the time
I'm happy to just leave it rooted, I just want the easiest option to getting the latest update and having the phone "normal" again
I will try what you have said in the first option, if not i'll use my SD card and get cracking

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788776
Can I use that to get unrevoked?
I still have the root, is that clockworkmod? As in, I hold down the volume down key and get the menu, I just don't know what to do with it.. Does that help?

Yes, I would recommend that as well. Simply clockworkmod and root will not affect or detract from the stock experience of your phone at all. Also, it will leave the door open for future modifications and customization, if the need arises.
EDIT: Yes you can use that guide as well. Same thing really. Clockworkmod and Root are two different things. Clockworkmod is a Custom Recovery (When you hold down Vol Down and Power Button, Navigate to RECOVERY using the Volume Key, and Press the Power Button on the RECOVERY word. If Clockworkmod opens, you have it. If it doesn't , and you get an image of an Android with a Red Triangle, you haven't got it).
Root is simply the presence of the Superuser binary, and can be determined by the fact if you have a "Superuser" icon in your main app drawer.

Rooting Mytouch3g 32b(t-mobile/voda) Without goldcard

Guide To rooting mytouch 3g 32b (Even if you have 1.6 update)
Propz to:Amon_RA, andreev2001, Cyanogen, and any one else sources I used
Ok after Searching the forums and finding all types of ways to root a Mytouch and having some/no luck I decided
to created a thread that goes into complete detail(or try to at least) about each step that is guaranteed to work if done correctly.
READ
This guide does not require a goldcard or adb . I am also not responsible for bricked/broken phones. Now since that's out of the way happy rooting!!
IF your phone is currently running 1.5(cupcake) already then skip to step 3
1.First of all we can't really do anything with 1.6 so we must downgrade to 1.5 by downloading this sappimg.nph and installing it
2.Once downloaded put it on your sdcard and reboot and go into hboot mode (Hold END+VOLUME DOWN). Preform the update
3.Once update is COMPLETLY finished and it asks you to reboot. Do so, then load your phone up fully and download this apk here (flashrecovery.apk) then run it.
Skip these steps and go to step 4 if you know how to install a apk
3a.to install this apk you have to enable the install unkown source in your settings. To do this hit menu >Settings>Applications>Unkown Soruces(check this).
3b. After this go to the market and download a app called "Astro" (the description should mention somthing about file manager) or you could use another apk installer but I prefer this one.
4. After installing the apk run it and click on “backup recovery image” let it do what it does then click on “Flash Cyanogen Recovery 1.4″.
5.Once that is done you want to download the SPL by clicking here, then put it on your sdcard. After that download any ROM(If you dont know what a ROM is search, I cant tell you everything ) of your choice and rename it "update.zip" without quotes then place it in your sdcard
6.Reboot your g1 and hold down the "HOME" key and it should bring up the flash image recovery screen. Choose apply any zip from sd and then choose "update.Engineering-SPL-HBOOT-1.33.2005-signed.zip". It finishes almost immediately with message saying successfully flashed(if it doesn't you prolly ate to much chicken ).
7. Then after it is installed select the restart option and then load into fastboot mode (Hold "BACK" arrow key while its restarting). Once fastboot is loaded the SPL info should say HBOOT-1.33.2005 (SAPP30000). If it does congrats almost there!!!!! If it doesn't, you did somthing wrong and you need to retrace you're steps.
8.Exit fastboot by hitting the "GREEN" button and before the phone boots up hold the "HOME" button and then go to "apply sdcard:update.zip". Let it install and VOL LA you installed your ROM. Preform a reboot and you will now have a rooted phone with a custom ROM
1) thanks for posting, ive tried to follow other instructions over the past few days to no avail
2) any chance of hosting the sappimg.nph file somehwere else? I cant access rapidshare from my phone. I would greatly appreciate it.
OMG SOOO EASY!!!! Mods should sticky this as the new root / rom upload process
I was running android 1.6 on tmobil mytouch 3g with perfected spl 1.33.2006

Thanks for posting - much appreciated. Can I ask what the benefit of changing the SPL is? Is this required?
My concern is regarding warranty - if I flash a new SPL, it is my understanding that I will not be able to flash my current one back, and hence return the phone to stock if the need arises.

Yes, it is required. You cannot root with the MT3G SPL, so you need to change the SPL.

You can flash it back to the original SPL. You would then be unrooted. Look at Amon_RA's original rooting process with Gold Card. At the bottom, he gives directions on how to return your phone to the unrooted state in case you need to do that.
Thanks, I thought with one-click-root, once you'd got the recovery rom flashed, you were done - that you had root and could flash what you liked.
For the record, I'm Voda 32B, but have perfected SPL .0007.
[EDIT] Yes, that thread has a file to return to stock, but only for MT3G, which is why I am hesitant to flash a new SPL to my device.
I've still seen in lots of places mind, that suggest this process works without the flashing of a new SPL. Such as: http://www.ryebrye.com/blog/2009/08/16/android-rooting-in-1-click-in-progress/
[EDIT]
What happened to the ability to format and
and put partitions from the recovery? I just got another Mytouch and rooted it and no ability to put the partions from the recovery mode? I think I had version 1.2 and now I have 1.4

I have rooted my myTouch3G with the 1-click method (twice actually, needed to take it to the store), and I have the perfected SPL 1.33.2006.
The main issue with this SPL is that it does not allow you to use fastboot. As far as I know, this has nothing to do with root access.
Can confirm that I've performed the OP's procedure but *without* flashing a new SPL, and everything is working fine.
Now running CyanogenMod 4.2.2 w/ CM Recovery 1.4.
Does anyone have the link to the partitions recovery? I tried to put the Hero recovery on and it does not want to come on and I still show the Cyanogenmod v1.4 +jf....someone help
Also in the top it has Andriod system recovery (2)? I did it twice, how do i take one off?

Questions about rooting htc magic

Hi, I've recently bought a HTC Magic and since then I've been reading into how to root my phone. Before I start I would like to know if it's possible on my phone.
Details:
HTC Magic Vodafone Uk (32B)
Hboot: 1.33.0007
Firmware version: 1.5
Build: CRC24
I've read from a thread in another section of this forum
that it would be impossible because of 1.33.0007 being a perfect spl BUT my phone is running the firmware version 1.5, with a CRC24 build. Would this mean I will be able to root my phone or not?
Also I've been reading up on how you either have cupcake or donut. My version is 1.5 so would that mean I have cupcake?
I'm worried that I might brick my phone so would prefer to use the one click tutorial at theunlockr (would add link but I can't) which is for htc magic running on cupcake.
Would it work?
Sorry for all my questions and I probably will end up asking more
Thanks if anyone can answer these for me!
You should be able to root using the relentless rooter or by following the guide on the unlockr. You are lucky you are running cupcake and don't need to downgrade
I think you are only really at risk when you flash radio and spl. Using the unlockr's stuff shouldn't be too bad. But read eveerything a bajillion times incase
same boat
Hey bunnybag
Was in the same boat as you until yesterday.
Also had a perfect SPL (0010) on a 32A.
I was also reading up a lot wrt getting a new ROM on my phone, and was also afraid of bricking it...
The gold-card method seemed quite involved, and that QMAT application doesn't exist anymore, and the newer version of it, does not run in XP or Vista...
Yesterday, I used the one click method from theunlockr, and after a few mistakes, it worked! Now I have a shiny CyanogenMod running with a 1.6 donut
It seems with the one click method -that you do not need to change the radio or SPL (which I guess are the most dangerous flashes to attempt)
Quicky summary of what I did, and where I deviated:
1) Read the one click method from theunlocker, and some of the comments at the bottom. Also - very importantly - watch the YouTube video at the top of the one click method page a few times!!
2) Downloaded the FlashRec apk (follow link on the one click method's page)
3) Installed FlashRec (the latest version of FlashRec looks slightly different to the one in the YouTube video but functions the same)
4) Did a backup of the existing recovery image via FlashRec. After the backup, you can copy the backed up .img to your PC...
5) Copied the latest Amon RA recovery image (v1.5.2) onto the SD card. Make sure you get the right one... there is a different one for 32A/32B... [Deviation from the one click method- which uses an older version of the RA recovery image]
6) Attempted to flash the new RA recovery via FlashRec. Here is where I struck a problem - the thing just stalled - for a good 10mins - and said 'do not interrupt' :|
I hooked up the USB cable, and from the command prompt ran: adb catlog
From here, scrolling up, I could see that FlashRec gave some message of invalid recovery image... Bit of a bummer - I checked the CRCs of the recovery image after copying it to the SD, and also tripple-checked the filename I typed into FlashRec! In the one click method page, they also warn about inadvertently adding spaces to the end of the filename when you type it in. I also checked for that.
I attempted it once more as follows:
-Rebooted phone
-Deleted the RA recovery .img from the SD
-Re-copied it onto the SD, and this time renamed it to something easy: ra.img
-Checked the CRC
-Ran FlashRec, and specified the path as: sdcard/ra.img
-Flash succeeded! maybe FlashRec can't handle very long file names?
7) After the recovery was flashed, I booted into recovery mode (HOME & POWER). Seems like the Amon RA recovery image takes slightly longer to boot that the stock recovery... so - don't crap yourself if it takes a few seconds. This is also a good point to stop, and watch the second video from theunclockr on how to load a new ROM...
8) After verifying that the new recovery image was working I booted back into Android, and I copied my ROM's files onto the SD. I used the Cyanogen Mod. The Cyanogen wiki has a page on how to load it for a 32A and also 32B.
Basically, you need the latest stable cyanogen mod, an Android 1.6 "defanged" ROM (link available on the Cyanogen wiki), and a new kernel. The kernel is 32A/32B specific, so get the right one.
9) With the 3 files on the SD, I booted back into the new RA recovery I just flashed.
10) Did a Nandroid backup
11) Did a wipe/factory reset [Deviation from theunlockr method: I did not format my SD card, or partition it into Ext & Swap. I prefer not to have a Swap partition on the SD, nor do I think I'll need to swap any apps out to the SD card... I think the 32A has enough space... you can read further about it in the xda-developers wiki, under page: HTC_Sapphire_Hacking_2]
12) Still in RA recovery, I applied (in order) a) the defanged 1.6 ROM, b) the Cyanogen mod, c) the new 32A kernel
13) Flashing it takes a while - there is a progress bar...
14) Reboot after all 3 were flashed. The first reboot takes a looong time... couple of minutes... don't worry, or try to reboot again... just give it time.
15) Once inside - tested everything: GPS, Wifi, Phone, Market, G-sensor, Gtalk, Gmail.
16) It might be worth while to note that once the phone is booted, and you've entered your SIM PIN, and the Android desktop is displayed, it can still take a few seconds - 4 or 5 I guess, before you are able to interact (swipe desktop left/right). Give it time to settle down, and all is well
//TODO: still need to flash a new splash-image...
Good luck - post back here with your results!

Ah, I tried using the unlockr's method and failed at flashrec. The unlockr kept saying that the reason was because I was already on Donuts but that is not true. I ended up using the relentless rooter software (looking back, his method is basically an automation of the original method).
Maybe you should post this also in the unlockr so that people who have "backup failed" messages know what to do?
Thanks for the info. It will be very helpful for other members trying to use the unlockr method.
Thanks for the post guys.
@bogo_mips: Great advice and I'll more than likely use this along with the unlockr one click tutorial.
Oh and there's one thing I'm worried about. My phone has somehow automatically downloaded the 1.6 upgrade and it keeps asking me to install it. Anyone know of a way to delete it so that it won't upgrade?
I'm worried that it might install if I turn my phone off.
@bunnybag: that 1.6 download sounds like a problem... if it takes, you'll no longer be able to do to the one-click method...
Check around the forum for advice. I'd guess - since the download would have had to happen in user-space, that the downloaded file might be sitting on the SD card or possibly the phone's flash. Get that Linda Filemanager app from the market and poke around... I guess if you could find the file, and delete / rename it - you could avert an install?
Alternativley, I'm guessing that if you can attempt the one-click method, that you'll have a new recovery image before you power down your phone, so - I think that will keep you safe...
@visitador02: according to the FlashRec page, there are 1.5 cupcakes out there which have been patched, so - FlashRec can't work on them... maybe that is what happened to you...

[GUIDE] Installing RUU's

mod: If this should be in DHD General, please move it
At the moment, sometimes current RUUs (ROM Update Utility) do not flash from the latest RUU exe - many times it will not recognise the Desire HD.
If you are having this problem, this is how to flash the latest stock RUU.
The latest RUU at the time of writing is 1.32.405.6.
You can download the RUUs from xmoo's thread or from mousey_'s site.
note: This is mainly for stock phones, for vendor-derived ones (e.g Vodafone DHDs in Australia) you will also need a goldcard.
Common Steps
Download the latest RUU (1.32.405.6).
Run it as administrator.
Tick the 'I understand the caution indicated above...' box, and click next.
At this point do not go any further.
Navigate to C:\Users\Ivo\AppData\Local\Temp (Replace my username with yours; AppData is a hidden folder)
You should see one or two folders like this:
{719CE201-7B12-4A13-9AF6-8F359FE69C7B}
Go into the one with dotnetinstaller.exe in it.
Open up the next folder.
Copy rom.zip into another folder (outside of temp).
At this point just Cancel and quit out of the ROM Update Utility.
A) Install through PC
Download and install HTC Sync 3.0 and restart.
Download the 1.15.405.1 Test RUU. It is the only one currently known to find the Android DHD.
Start it the same way as before, get to the
1. Connect the Smartphone to the USB Cable.
step. (but no further)
Again, go to the AppData local temp directory (same as above), and find the folder with dotnetinstaller.exe and inside that, rom.zip
You want to delete the rom.zip (which is the 1.15 version) and replace it with (copy back) the 1.32 rom.zip you copied out earler.
DO NOT UPDATE WITH 1.15 ROM, IT IS NOT DESIGNED FOR RETAIL DHDs.
Now click through the next buttons.
The 1.15 Utility should now be set to update with the 1.32 rom. You will see the version number of the rom at the final step.
Click update and watch the magic happen
B) or Install through Phone
With the rom.zip you copied out earlier, rename it PD98IMG.zip
Copy this onto the root of your microSD card through some means (disk drive, ftp, wireless).
Restart your phone and boot into the bootloader by holding power and volume down at the same time as it restarts.
It should go into the bootloader, take a fair while to check the zip on the sd card, and then ask you if you want to flash it.
Say yes!
Hope this can help some people for whom the 1.32 RUUs aren't working for them
Thanks for putting up this post! I was about to request one last night.
Now if only there could be a similar guide to flashing custom ROMs
To force unroot, I could reinstall RUU 1.32.405.6 from Win7 without problems, a bit longer than updating/reinstalling a WinMo 6.5.x rom (my former HD2), but it went through...
Thanks Ivolol this worked a treat
Appreciate your guide and efforts.
I am running Win 7 64. folowed 1.15 method now running latest 1.32.405.6

Weird; I tested a couple of RUUs (not as many as xmoo did) and all of them couldn't connect to my phone (whereas 1.15 could).
It'd be interesting to find out what the factors are that cause this. ATM the guide above is what to do if someone finds themselves in the same situation (the current ROMs won't find the phone).

+1 here, went through the normal RUU process fine just for ****s and giggles. I've extracted the ROM.zip though in case it's needed for future use.
sorry for the noob question..just had my DHD for the last 5 days. I come from galaxy S, and in there whenever we flash a rom all the data gets wiped out.
is it true also when we flash a RUU??

I haven't got complete knowledge of the entire subject yet, but:
a RUU will completely wipe all user settings / apps. Won't do anything to the sd card though.
An update.zip is akin to an OTA update, it does not wipe user settings.
Flashing with a stock RUU will mean that you can still get OTA updates.
I've tried using the phone method and unable to flash successful. I believe you need a valid GoldCard to use this method.
Can you confirm if the GoldCard is required for doing it with the phone method?
In addition, once the unit (especially our Voda branded one) is flashed with the latest ROM, OTA may not run properly which will result in disabled functionality (as recorded in this thread: forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1575514, wifi stopped working). Theory said you'll need a GoldCard to get OTA to work properly (from another thread in XDA).
Thanks.
Great Guide thank you very much. Now i know to flash back to stock now if something gose wrong as iam a noob to android it took some time to work it out even tho it is a simple guide now i wanna know after getting perm root how do i flash a custom rom ? do i need clockwork mod?

There is a big reason I decided to buy my DHD outright and not through Vodafone
I'm pretty sure that Vodafone's OTAs will be different from HTC's. In order to get OTAs from Vodafone you will need their image on it.
Also with vodafone's ROM installed, I wouldn't think it would accept HTC's vanilla ROM/RUU without going through the entire root process (it would only accept Vodafone signed ROMs). So in order to get onto HTC's ROMs I would think you need to follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=841076 before the phone will let you run a HTC RUU on it.
I haven't explored goldcards as I personally have no use for one, but you might also need one by the sounds of it for the Vodafone ROM to let you replace it. (edit: yes it looks like you need one to officially flash from a Vendor ROM to a generic one.)
So this guide is mainly for people with vanilla HTC phones. Although someone has posted a stock rooted Vodafone ROM on the phones so you might be able to use the same techniques outlined here with that.

clockwork mod is useful but not entirely necessary. You might be able to use this guide's method to flash a custom ROM onto it (haven't tried yet), but otherwise I think what you need is a recovery img that will let you upload custom/unsigned ROMs onto it. And also S-OFF I imagine.
ok so i have S-OFF and clockwork mod recovery...
if i have the rom.zip and rename it to PD98IMG.zip and run bootloader.
i shouldnt have any problems flashing this rom??
BTW am using Aus branded Vodafone HDH.
also..IF i flash this rom..would i loose S-Off and clockwork recovery mod??
would flashing this allow me to gain OTA???

If you flash a stock RUU rom.zip then you will loose all custom apps, data, s-off, recovery, etc. It puts it to factory settings. If you are in the business of flashing ROMs then I wouldn't worry about OTA because the developers here will integrate HTC updates as they come out, if they come out
However yes I think if you flashed a stock RUU then you will be able to get OTA. You might still need a goldcard, I'm not exactly sure.

{719CE201-7B12-4A13-9AF6-8F359FE69C7B}

Yeah. I got a goldcard inside of my phone but the bootloader doesn't recognize the P98IMG on my sdcard even though its there for sure. No idea how to fix this

It's a kingston 8 gb class 4, but thanks for the tipp, I'll try another.
Yep, it was the sdcard xD. It's updating as I type
Carnt I just use the updater on the pc with the Rom? I have tried the method and I don't see a Rom file just a data1 file which is a ear file. I really would like stock ROM on my device
edit: i just used the exe and it installed perfect, so now it should be stock with no root, and sn

An RUU is an exe which contains the stock 'firmware' from HTC to flash to your device. Basically it will do a full factory reset of your device. It won't wipe your sdcard but it will overwrite everything else.
it didnt asked me for anything on option B) or Install through Phone. i didnt get the option to flash it.

Backuping before changing system to 2.3.3

Hi there,
Im new with Wildfire, so I want to change my system to 2.3.3. But before that I would like to make a backup to not loose everything on my phone in the system 2.2.1. Can U please give me a link how can I do that?
Thx.
When your phone is rooted, install clockworkmod recovery. You can there make a nandroid backup of your current ROM (which you can later restore in case something goes wrong).
Apps can be backupped by a program called titanium backup, but again requires root (but works very well!)
Link for s-off and root in case you have not done this yet: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1145035
Thx for the link but as I see there All procedures were done under WINDOWS 7, 32-bit. And me I have win 7 64bit, should not be a problem?
No, the procedure remains the same.
I have indeed done everything on windows7 64bit and am succesfully running CM7
Is the wifi working on this 2.3.3?
you are probably talking about installing a custom ROM right? Then if wifi works depends on which custom ROM you are installing, and there is probably a thread about each custom rom in the dev section, so you can check there
Yes but Im a little bit confuse here. U gave me a link and there I read that CM7 is stable. But what should I do before install it?
I know that first I need to back up my phone and my old 2.2.1 android.
Please tell me what should I do first? step by step. I will apreciate so much. And in this CM7 is everything working fine? I mean wifi - blutooth etc?
Thx
The general steps:
S-off or root your phone (most easy is S-off with the alpharevx tool right now, root is easy then)
Flash clockworkmod recovery
Acess clockworkmod recovery by holding volume down when the phone is off and pressing the power button once
Make nandroid backup with clockworkmod recovery
Wipe cache, dalvik cache, reset to factory settings (in clockworkmod recovery)
Put the .zip file for the custom ROM on your sd card (root of the sd card)
Flash the ROM using clockworkmod recovery
Install google apps (market, youtube, ...) the same way you flashed your ROM. You can do this step afterwards though if you like
Reboot into your new ROM
The details should be in the thread I linked to. I did it myself using another thread (something called "after alpharevx...") but I have looked for it and I cannot find it back anymore sorry... But look at the one I linked to above, I'm sure it holds all the info needed
The first time took a few hours for me aswel and some reflashing because i got bootloops (no worries, you can fix that, the phone will not be bricked ! ), but afterwards it's all very easy
And I'm not sure if everything works perfect. There is a common problem with the GPS which can be solved by reflashing the radio. Wifi works, bluetooth I have no idea as I have never used it yet... I read there are problems but I don't know if there are problems in the current stable version... But trust me, the hours you put in it the first time, and the few flaws there still are are totally worth the result I cannot believe I have been on stock ROM more than a year before finally flashing custom ROMs...
So let me show U what my phone shown when I reboot it by using the volume DOWN and the power:

So do I need the Revolutionary to S-OFF it? because I dont need to downgrade my version anymore right?
Right. Go to AlphaRev.nl/x/
Download there the tool to making phone s-off and root it after that.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA Premium App
I want also to know when do I need to format my SD Card to FAT32? I just read somewhere that I need to format it in order to make a nandroid or something like that??
And please tell me also what is the difference between sense ROM and CM7 ?? I want to be sure to do the right thing because I dont want to destroy my treasure xD.
So after S-Offing my phone I need to root it and then format my SD Card?? Please tell me the step I need to do.
Thx.
No one helps?
Just read the guide!! EVERYTHING is stated there. Your SDCard should be FAT32 already before you start it.
To get an idea of CM7, read a review somewhere of the Nexus S, and most importantly ,check the software review of it. That is, in a nutshell, what CM7 is. Also, the official site should tell you a bit about it:
http://www.cyanogenmod.com/
Sense ROM is what you see at the moment on your Wildfire. All apps, like the camera, dialer, contacts, messages etc. are different in AOSP ROMs like CM7 and Sense ROMs like the stock one.
Dude but I dont need a goldcard but S-OFFing my phone. I have the HBOOT 1.01.0001 already so as I read the goldcard is for the ones who want to downgrade their HBOOT.
So tell me how do I format my sdcard and make a partition for it? I need to format before S-OFFing? So where will be my backup (nandroid?) and where do I put my new and old ROM?
Its quite a little bit confuse for me so can U put me on the right path and help me?

Just go through this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1029318
No, you need not do anything with your SDcard, if getting S-OFF is all you need.
I'll post the outline for you:
- Download Revolutionary
- Run it, it will S-OFF your phone
- After S-OFF'ing it, it will ask you whether you want to install a Custom Recovery. Select YES.
- This will install Clockworkmod 4.0.1.4
That's it. Once Clockworkmod is installed, you can then take a nandroid backup and then flash custom ROMs. You can read this post for all details for taking Nandroid backups and flashing custom stuff:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8926457&postcount=4
Hope this clears up your doubts
Ok, but if I need to put my new ROM in order to have CM7 in my phone do I need to format my sdcard before do nandroid?
How about the partition of my sdcard? What can U suggest for me? Thx
No. Not necessary. Flashing a ROM is independent of the contents of the SDCard. You can take a Nandroid also without formatting or doing anything to your SDCard, as long as you have sufficient space. (1 Nandroid backup is ~300-350MB)
SDCard partitioning can be done after you S-OFF and root your phone. Then, install an app called ROM Manager, you will have an option within it to partition your SDCard. But, here, make sure you backup your SDCard before partitioning because partitioning will automatically format it.
Ok is ROM manager is an independent program? where can I get it? from android market? or I will get it automaticly after s-offing my device?
Karthus said:

- Yes, it is an independent program.
- No, you will not automatically get it after S-OFF
- Yes, it's available on the market (Both free and premium)
- If you decide to install CM7 ROM after S-OFF and installing a Custom recovery, it includes it by default.
Just to get one thing out of the way - We are referring to create an EXT partition on the SDCard after S-OFF'ing/rooting to enable Apps2SD. Not a FAT32 or any other partition.

[Guide] Stuck in Hboot Read This

After seeing this issue quite a few times this past week I thought I make a tutorial on how to possibly fix this. If any of you see any errors or any way to improve this guide please let me know and ill include it and or adjust accordingly
Note-Make sure you have plenty of battery. You don’t want your phone dying in the middle of flashing a PD98IMG
If you are stuck in Hboot and have S-On go straight to flashing Stock Rom section or Alternate method at the end
Do not rename or unzip-Leave as is
Recovery: http://min.us/mbaD8QTK4A
WWE Stock Rom (Sense 3.0): http://min.us/mIc6tkSGg
NOTE- The Stock Rom is for a Desire DHD. If you have an Inspire 4g or Telus DHD do not use the file. Use one of these instead
Inspire 4g pre-rooted Stock Rom: http://db.tt/DCU3oW39 (only use if you have S-off)
Inspire 4g stock Rom: http://min.us/mblzL6b6vL
Telus DHD Stock Rom: http://min.us/mTqXM8fTY
Reinstalling Recovery
If you have Eng S-Off and feel comfortable with adb you can flash a recovery that way. Go to Reinstalling Recovery using adb
For whatever reason you have wiped your custom recovery (My guess is you did a factory reset, thus erasing it). Personally i would try this first as one can go straight to a custom rom. If you don't want a custom rom feel free to go to the flashing stock rom section.
1)Back up anything you don’t want deleted from your sd card
2)Plug in sd card into computer through an adapter of some kind or another phone
3)Reformat the Sd Card to Fat32 – Do a full reformat not a quick
4)Once reformat is complete place the file downloaded from the first link on the sd card
5)Eject the sd card from computer and insert into phone
6)Power off phone by pulling the battery
7)Reinsert the battery
8)Boot into bootloader by pressing volume down and power button
9)It will scan for the file press volume up to accept update
10)It will ask you to reboot- but it will still be stuck which is normal
11)If everything is going to plan you now have access to recovery. So now we need to flash a rom. Skip down to the flashing rom section if you don’t know how to. If flashing the recovery didn't work continue to the next section
Reinstalling Recovery With No Card Reader
Note: Eng S-OFF is not needed for this method
1) Download recovery above and place it in your fastboot directory
2) Boot into Hboot
3) Connect your phone to your PC
4) Select fastboot
5) Open up command prompt and CD to your Fastboot directory
6) Run the command fastboot erase cache
7) After the OK run fastboot oem rebootRUU
8) You'll see a new screen with HTC logo and a progress bar. here you need to run fastboot flash zip PD98IMG.zip
9) Once it completes (should say ok,finished, or complete) run fastboot reboot bootloader
10) Go into Recovery and flash a rom
Reinstalling Recovery Using ADB and Fastboot
Note: you need to have Eng s-off with this method.
You can use the recovery img that is found above or one of your choosing(newer cwr or 4ext recovery)
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot
Flashing a Stock Rom
Note-If you are S-off I suggest flashing a pre-rooted stock rom, as there is no need to re-root.
1)If coming from previous section plug in sd card and delete old file then Jump to step 5
2)Back up anything you don’t want deleted from your sd card
3)Plug in sd card into computer through an adapter of some kind or another phone
4)Reformat the Sd Card to Fat32 – Do a full reformat not a quick
5)Once reformat is complete place the file downloaded from the second link(stock rom) on the sd card
6)Eject the sd card from computer and insert into phone
7)Power off phone by pulling the battery
8)Reinsert the battery
9)Boot into bootloader by pressing volume down and power button
10)It will scan for the file press volume up to accept update
11)If everything is going to plan you now should have a fully working phone
12)At this point you are un-rooted so if you want re-root I recommend using the ace hack kit. (unless you used a pre-rooted rom then no need to use hack kit)
NOTE- IF EITHER FLASHING THE STOCK ROM OR RECOVERY PD98 FILES HAS NOT WORKED REPEAT PROCEDURE WITH A DIFFERENT SD CARD
Flashing rom
1)So we were able to re-flash a custom recovery. Connect sd card to computer and delete the PD98img file
2)Download the rom of your choice and any super wipe zips if your rom needs it
3)Place file on sd card eject and reinsert onto phone
4)Boot in bootloader.( An alternate is using adb to boot into recovery)
5)This time it will scan and not find any files. After it scans scroll down and select recovery.
6)You should now be in CWR. Do a full wipe (wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache-found in advanced I think
a.If recommended by your rom uses a super wipe zip. Simply choose install from sd card in CWR and select the super wipe zip
7)Now flash the rom by selecting install from sd card and choosing rom
Alternate- Flashing of a RUU
This is for those that don’t have access to an adapter to place files with. This should work whether your S-on or S-Off
RUU’s: http://www.filefactory.com/f/efa28fefafc4af9c/
1)Download your RUU from above
2)Boot into Hboot
3)Connect your phone to your PC
4)Select fastboot
5)Run the RUU program

One doesn't have to unroot if they don't want to flash the recovery through hboot. One can place a rooted version of the stock rom on the SD card as a pd98img zip and boot into hboot. Once flashed, just go to the market and install rom manager and flash recovery from there. At this point, one is rooted stock and free to flash a custom rom at any time. This saves from the need to reroot the device. Of course this is provided one already has s-off when the problem hit.

tmobile help please
Please can anybody download t mobile ota update ? i need to flash the update zip file to my t mobile dhd because i have installed tmobile ruu and my phone wont boot it is stuck in t mobile boot loop i have no root and my hboot says
ACE PVT SHIP S-OFF RL.
I have an unbranded dhd but i dont know if i can install tmobile ruu on to it to download the tmobile ota update myself.. i have done this with my htc bravo's
one was virgin and the other was unbranded i was able to s-off the unbranded bravo using revolutionay.io and install virgin ruu on it and downloaded the ota zip file but didnt install it and copied it to my virgin bravo and installed the update can i do this with dhd ace ?
if you have supercid on the unbranded you can do that, though i dont think the ota will get you out of the bootloop. When you installed the tmo RUU it does take about 15 min to do its thing. did you give it enough time?
You could reflashing the Tmo ruu, but since your soff i would personally use the WWE version
Sorry Guys looking for some extra help, I was flashing a radio on GB and something went wrong... I am running a custom rom and am rooted with ENG s-off.
when I start i get a black scree for about 10-15 minutes, then I get a white screen with HTC on it and it vibrates for a good 5 minutes, then it goes to a white HTC screen with quietly good (or something similar) and eventually the phone will start.
I had ext4 CWM installed on it originally but I do not get any recovery options either in HTC or CWM.
I've tried using the instructions here with adb a recovery image to no avail.
The phone is currently 2.3.5 with HTC sense it was Android Revolution HD 6.3.2 by mike 1986.

The phone is currently 2.3.5 with HTC sense it was Android Revolution HD 6.3.2 by mike 1986.

Hello! I have a Desire HD that is stuck at the Hboot, no recovery or anything.
I managed to flash some ROMs, either through Hboot or RUU but even then, the phone stays stuck at Hboot.
I tried many official ROMs and RUUs. The ones that can be flashed succesfully are the main zip from this thread (WWE Stock Rom) and the two Sense 3.0 WWE RUUs.
The update process seems to proceed fine, but at the end, when I reboot the device, it gives me 7 vibrations at the white HTC screen, then the screen goes black and stays stuck for ever (or at least for 2 hours).
I do not know much about the device, only that it had a custom rom and one day this happened.
If you have any suggestions or ideas, I'd be glad to hear. Even some generic (short) answers will do if you have any idea at all.
HTC service says that because of the custom software, the phone isn't anymore under warranty and they need to replace the motherboard.
