BT, GPS & USB Tethering Working with CM7 Nightly & Radio - Wildfire General

As the thread suggests, after resetting & switching to nighty #106 those things that weren't working now are.
Before this the
+GPS didnt work (that was fixed by latest radio flash though not rom)
+Bluetooth didnt work (no discovery tection by either device)
+Usb Tethering didntwork (would enable then disable immediately)
as for wifi, i think it worked b4 too.

[Q] Wireless-N driver unstable when connect to Win7 AP/connectify?

After i flashed HCDR.Kernel v4.1, the connection drop randomly when my wildfire try connect to Win7 Access Point(Connectify).
However, issue seems to be gone if i revert back to HCDR.Kernel V3.
I wonder if anyone facing same problem. Is there a way to fix this with V4.1 kernel?
Try v4.2. Although that has the issue of the clock speeds being set at 19 - 768 by default. But, if it boots for you, you can use SetCPU or something to change the clock speeds back to normal.
4.2 changed the Wi Fi Driver over 4.1, so, it should fix the issue.
If it still doesn't, some member modified the kernel so that it is stable and with the new Wi Fi driver. That thread should be there somewhere in the Wildfire Android Development Forum.
unfortunately, kernel v4.2 won't work on DK custom for wifi. kernel v3 is unstable even it booted, wildfire reboot occasionally even if cpu set at 518max.
I found the mod kernel with fixing wifi sleep (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=967746). Yet no luck. Reverting back to original kernel atm.
seems like it is the compatible problem with my connectify host on wifi N mode.
It works fine after it flashed the homemade kernel from HCDR source with N mode disable.
Another issue is the connection drop, should be due wifi sleep issue. It goes away after i use wifi fixer.

Workaround for CM7 wifi issues

So yesterday, after having CM7 loaded for about 2 weeks, my wifi stops working.. After doing a bit of research I discover its a common problem, so I try the various solutions including changing the number of channels and both upgrading & downgrading my radio image, but nothing works.. Somewhere along the line I lost my ClockWorkMod recovery image & being the newbie that I am I decided to go back to the start & follow the process that I initially used to root (the one at unlockr.com), but at the last step, instead of installing the rootedupdate.zip file I decided to try my luck with installing CM7 again, & lo & behold it worked, wifi's working again...
not really sure which step of the root process fixed the issue but if I had to guess I'd say the correct radio image was flashed, maybe someone could properly identify the correct solution...?
My adb logcat session shows that its trying to connect to some network that is unavailable and fails. ı tried to remove the 2nd , 3rd offline networks and it started working.
thanks very much deleting the saved networks worked!! wifi back on

Indeed it works...but only for the first time. As soon as you disable WiFi and enable it once again, the problem is back. So you will have to delete the saved networks one by one, each time you want to connect and in the end you will have no more saved networks left (like me). Now the only "workaround" is to enter the network details every time I want to connect.
Is there still ni working solution for this?
still no WLAN
Having to choose the lesser evil between:
no GPS under CM 7.1 or
no WLAN under CM 7.0.3 I chose the latter.
The antenna works, tethering too, the signal is detected, but logging into a WLAN fails, it keeps scanning over and over. Deleting other networks didn't work.
Any hint?
BTW, I tried 7.2 nightlies... since Market (aka g-Play) is missing there is no real use so far.
Apart from that - CM rules!
I am using both of them right now and it is okay.
Sometimes I won't get any GPS fix and I have to switch it off and on again (or restart the phone in the worst case) to have signal.
CM 7.1 with latest radio (7.13.35.13).

Using cm7.2 last nightly and every thing works just fine! Give it a try!

Don't know if this will help, but I had wifi issues and GPS issues, but flashed new radio
7.08.35.21 and flashed CM7.2.0 RC1 (KANG) unofficial ROM and everything has been sweet since. GPS quick to lock and no wifi issues at all....
give it a try

The radio should be the difference here as it seems that CM > 7.1 don't have GPS bugs anymore.
Update your radio version to newest (7.13.35.13). Everything work fine in CM7.2 for me.
I know it s been a bit but thanks for the info helped alot deleting the random networks while out and about after deleting 3 wifi runs great

Tethering not working

Hi guys,
i'm running cyanogen 7.0.2 on my desire Z and i have a problem : it is impossible for me to do wireless tether. I remember that it was working on my DZ with the original ROM (htc).
Here are the details :
when i try to use the tether in parameters => wireless networks =>acces point , both wifi and usb shows "error" without more details.
when i try to use "wireless tether for root users", the log contains :
activating wifi interface : failed
setting ad-hoc mode : failed
setting essid : failed
setting channel : failed
enabling nat rules : done
enabling ip forward : done
tethering now running : done
I already tried to flash differents kernel and differents radio, but it is still the same ...
any ideas ?
ps : sorry for mistakes.
I am on CM7 Stable, running wi-fi tethering using it on my second phone and my laptop, seems no problems at all. Getting a decent speed of 3M up.
You may want to try reflashing your device, start from scratch, might solve your problem.
Just a note, I had a similar issue before I flashed CM7 on my G2 with different ROM. As soon as Stable was released, flashed it by wiping my phone completely, and here I am... no problems as am typing...
So a full wype of my current cyanogen, and reflash the 7.0.2 may resolve the problem ? i'ell give it a try.
i tried a full wipe, format system and all stuff. It doesn't work. When i try to use stock wifi tether, i have an error on my computer (limited connection), and when i try with wireless teher, same errors as first post... :/
Up !
Still the same problem .... i tried to reflash again, no change. any ideas ?
Here is a little update : after reflashing and restoring a nandroid backup, it looks like that the usb tether works a bit. i can go on google, but after ... it's very slow and i get timeout errors.
The wifi tether still don't work.
are you currently being throttled for excessive data usage? that's the only time i have the problems you're listing with the wifi-hotspot
I have the same problem. It's not the cm7 rom because I've had the same thing happen on different roms. Its not throttling thats bs. I'm still doing research I'm gonna figure it out, any help would greatly help though lol.

CF-ROOT XXJVQ XXJVP bluetooth activation problem

Hi!
Some users (like me) are experiencing BT activation problems with CF-Root kernel on stock xxjvp and xxjvq roms.
Some discussion is happening at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108#. Unfortunately, I cannot post there because I am a newbie and that is a developers thread.
My millage:
* Stock XXJVP + CF-Root + Default Tweaks. BT activation did not work sometimes. Sometimes it worked after a reboot, sometimes it did not.
* Stock XXJVQ + CF-Root + No Tweaks. BT worked at the beginning. No Tweaks looked like a solution like mentioned in the above thread.
* Stock XXJVQ + CF-Root + No Tweaks + ext4.
* Stock XXJVQ + CF-Root + Default Tweaks + ext4.
BT not working. I put wifi off. After a reboot, BT is working again but only if BT is activated before activating wifi for the first time. Afterwords, Wifi and BT can be set on/off without problem.
Conclusions:
* CF-Root may break/interfere with BT activation.
* Disabling all tweaks is no a final solution. May be it is not relevant.
* Disabling wifi before a reboot may be a solution. Needs more test by other users.
* It seems the problem happens when wifi is activated before BT after a reboot.
Please, report you millage.
Hey I have the same problem the bluetooth has a mind of its own it works sometimes and then stops working! Sometimes the reboot does help, but just tried your suggestion of rebooting with wifi turned off and that did the trivk, but time will tell if it stops working or not.
on CF-ROOT XXJVO

Disabling wifi before restarts works for me.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
I experienced the same for XXJVO, XXJVP, and XXJVQ. It clearly seems to be a problem of the CF-Root kernel and maybe the tweaks.
Has anyone contacted the guy releasing CF-Root to investigate this problem?
I did some searching in the CF-Root thread.
There seem to be two possible solutions:
1. After reboot: always turn on BT once before turning on Wifi
2. Disable kernel scheduler in tweaks app
That worked for me.
Same problema here, bluetooth activation not works for me.
A posible fix could be in next CF-Root version:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16103016&postcount=2561
so this issue is common, but does not necessarily affect all users that applied this method of rooting?
the same thing to me, but with the Juwe's Smart Edition 5.0 (XXJVP), and the same solution, just turn the BT first after a reboot. I tryed the last version of Juwe's Smart Edition 5.2 (XXJVQ) and doesn't have a problem with BT... but i came back to J.S.E 5.0.... both have the Semaphore kernel.
I used to use CF-Root and i didn't have problems with BT on early versions.
Regards
PD:Sorry by my English
Hi, it's seem that i got luck...
Stock JVQ + CF ROOT+ EXT4 i just turn on bluetooth and wi-fi, bluetooth work fine (i tryed to send a jpg, work) then turn off bt e wifi, turn on again, same as before send image, work fine
last, turn off bt e wi-fi, turn on, make visibile e send a jpg from other phone to galaxy work fine
so?
sure to have a STOCK JVQ ?
does anybody have a solution for this problem?
mine also has the bluetooth problem and wifi can't be stopped (you disable it and after few seconds it back on)
I've used CF-Root-XX_UNK_JVQ-v3.7-CWM3RFS

No WiFi - Mac is lost ?!?

I have a rooted Stock Rom (Magisk). After an update I did have problems with WiFi. First I was not able to connect to new stations (only after reboot). Now even that is not working - no Wifi at all. I can enable it, but scan doesn't found anything.
Anyone can help me get it working (without a full wipe of each and everything)?
Probably only access to S5e is via ADB.
Wifi module itself seems to work, I can create a hotspot. So other way around it works. Weird.
