Anyone get an International Roaming text message from AT&T - Atrix 4G General

Hey there, quick question for everyone...
I'm just sitting here in my office working when out of the blue I get a text message from AT&T stating "AT&T Free Msg: Your phone is now enabled to dial & roam internationally. Details & rates at att.com/global. See att.com/wirelesstraveltips for iPhone travel tips."
I haven't accessed my AT&T accound for over 2 weeks and when I did I didn't change any features, so I have no idea why I'd be receiving this. Did anyone else get this?

UK T Mobile phone in Orlando - GSM OK??

I have a UK T Mobile Vario, and am taking it with me on my Orlando holiday in a couple of weeks time. I am really wanting to use it to send / receive quick emails.
The plan is to connect to my email, pull down the mail headers and then disconnect. With the mail items I want to read, I go back online and pull the full message down.
I want to drop quick mail messages to friends and family back home, and give certain updates to people on items I have been asked to buy, make sure they are OK with prices etc etc.
There appears to be various mobile cariers in Florida, and am not sure which my phone will connect to when I turn it on, but I know how to manually select a network.
The question is this, the villa is in the Indian Ridge development in Kissimmee, so should I select a specific carrier to get data features, or will any of the available ones allow it?
Vario is Triband so USA is not a problem.
You may be better ringing Tmobile UK and asking them which carrier is cheaper for roaming data in the area you will be travelling to. If you add international option to your account before you go ?3quid or thereabouts, you can get cheaper roaming. It may be cheaper buying a sim in the US and connecting on the local sim.
Maybe our American forum users could suggest the cheapest PAYG options. including data.
I had no coverage problems with tmobile around Orlando earlier this year.
If all else fails, most of the hotels in the area seem to have free, open WiFi
and plenty of parking ;-)
i lived in orlando with t-mobile, and never had any problems with coverage

[Q] How to recieve texts on T-Mobile Prepaid...?

I've recently unlocked my Atrix 4G, talked to AT&T support and they easily gave me a code free, and I am on rooted stock gingerbread.
I just ported my number over to the $30 100mins talk/unlimited text/data T-mobile prepaid plan. I can send texts and the other party gets them, but I cannot see any calls texts anyone sends me unless its a media message, such as a picture.
I've tried multiple APN edits, searching for hours on this forum and others, none of them seem to change anything.
I can call other people, but they can't call me. If they call me, it rings for about 30 secs then goes to voicemail.
What am I missing here? Anyone else on the T-mobile prepaid plans using Atrix 4g?

"Unlocked" Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 to Tmobile switch - cannot send text messages

"Unlocked" Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 to Tmobile switch - cannot send text messages
Please! HELP!!
I switched from Verizon to Tmobile and my stupid phone updated to Lollipop 5.0.1 and now I can't send text messages without calling Tmobile and having them send a signal to reprovision my phone EVERY time after it reboots (which I have to do EVERY day now that bluetooth sucks so hard and randomly stops all the time in Lollipop).
Before I accidentally hit the button to update, my phone would show my Verizon voicemails waiting in the notification area and say "No Service" until I called my voicemail and let it disconnect, to which effect it would seem to go to no signal to nothing to HSDPA to plus to 4G LTE and BAM! I'd be on Tmobile able to send texts and all (before which I could NOT send texts, but COULD receive them (IIRC), and make phone calls (WITHOUT dial tones being accepted (which seemed to be fixed in Lollipop by selecting long press tones in the phone settings), and I COULD browse the web, etc.).
NOW, that little workaround does NOT work anymore and I have to call Tblowbile to send that magical signal to my phone (which doesn't seem to take all the time for all people for some reason).
I DO have the APN entered correctly (as stated on their website) and setting the phone to and from global to global/lte/gsm and selecting tmobile as the mobile network in the settings does NOT work.
I GUARANTEE it is that stupid GRAYED OUT Verizon APN that I CANNOT remove that is causing ALL these problems (given the nature of the phone post-reboot on KitKat).
PLEASE, tell me how to delete that stupid VZW APN or how to downgrade to KitKat or of another workaround other than having to call the deceptive, bait and switch company that is Tmobile EVERY time!
I'M DESPERATE!
PLEASE, HELP!
You can't. The bootloader is locked on Verizon, which prevents root. They've also apparently blocked access to the APNs in firmware.
Your options? Head to the XDA Verizon S4 forums and check out their various guides.
P.S. T-Mobile is not pulling a bait and switch here. They are providing you with service, which is what you paid for. They have no control over the OTA function of the device. Unless you have proof that T-Mobile is baiting and switching, your comment is slanderous/libelous.

Google Hangouts Roaming and How to see network information when Roaming?

I'm roaming in the Caribbean with the nexus 6p. I get data, but i can't send text messages. I do get text messages from people but whether i try to reply or send a new message, it always fails. Does anyone know what the issue is? E-mail works fine, as does Facebook messenger.
Also, how can i tell the quality of my connection or if its 2g/3g/4g when roaming. All i see is a network bar with a small r next to it, not the usual 3g/4g/LTE icons etc. Is there a particular setting for this?
Lastly, i have wifi calling enabled but i have no idea if its connected and working or not. Is there any way to tell when its activated and when its not so i don't incur roaming fees when calling home?

Moto g5 Plus Verizon issues

Hello. Moto g5 plus unlocked 32 gb from amazon, no prime ads. Unlocked bootloader, custom Validus 8.1 rom and TWRP recovery. Was previously with Redpocket Mobile, switched to Verizon prepaid ($40/month plan) and received my 4g LTE sim card yesterday and have been having nothing but problems since then.
TO start, the sim took a long time to register my number, and "program" itself as Verizon called it, this is because I finally figured out even though Verizon claims excellent coverage in my area (49783 U.S) I currently have barely any service, so that's why it took forever to register/port my number over.
SO now I can hardly even send a text with the stupid thing, it's resting on 1 bar and then usually disconnects frequently and says "no service." When I go into town I get 3/4 bars of 3g , not 4g LTE. I was curious as to why this happens, so I spoke to a friend who has Verizon in my area and he said it's a deadzone for verizon where I live, but that he gets 4g LTE everywhere else in the city.
Does anyone here have a Moto g5 plus US version (no indian/foreign versions) PURCHASED in the US and on the Verizon network? Also, my friend is on postpaid network, not prepaid, not sure if that makes a difference. IF anyone's with Verizon here can someone confirm it's compatible? It shows up on my Verizon account as XT1687. I got this plan for the extra data and rollover/hotspot capabilities that redpocket DIDN'T have, but if I can barely even send a text message at home what's the point? I have been on the phone with Verizon for hours and they claim my phone is compatible but that they "cannot guarantee coverage on phones not purchased from them" or something like that. Does having a custom ROM affect coverage in any way?
Couple more symptoms to help you guys diagnose my issue: In settings > about this phone > sim status, when I click mobile network status it usually "refreshes" so if it had listed one bar previously, I tap on it and it will say "no service" which to me indicates tapping on it updates it, and that the phone is constantly losing signal. Also, I keep getting messages about leaving service and roaming, though roaming is turned off.
What I'm most intrigued about is I can make calls from anywhere in the house unless the phone says "no signal" so even if the phone is on one bar and listing x1 for service or 3g, a call will come in or go through fine, but MESSAGES WILL NOT SEND. In android messages, it says "tap to send again." Which is weird because if a call could go through certainly a simple sms would?! I still have yet to test service in the heart of the little city I live in, I've only been outside of my house and in, so I haven't extensively tested different areas yet, so I'm not giving up yet!
Finally, what APN should I use? It's set to "straight talk verizon" right now, but there's a bunch listed. Perhaps other Moto g5 plus users could confirm which one they use? I suppose it sets itself by default...
thanks for looking through and please answer my questions! I need more competent help than Verizon can offer.
