[Q] Differences between several MIUI ROMs - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

hi guys!
lately i tried several MIUI roms that can be found around, from: ladyboo, langthang, jan willem and boyppc until recent differend with ladyboo
no matter how i tried, i am not able to find the differences between those roms
i ask you guys, with more knowledge then me to try to pinpoint for me some differences between those roms, other then theme used by each of those great chefs.
disclaimer: this is not a versus thread or which rom is better.

Hi,
It looks to me that you are an experienced member. According to your sig "ROM: Depending on the week day" you could maybe do us all a favor and try out the various ROMS and report back and let us know your findings.

as i said in the first post, i DO try a rom almost every day. but i can't identify the differences between roms i mentioned. that's why i asked for somebody with more skills
that sig came from windows mobile days, but it is still actual

im also a flash aholic ive tested almost all the miui roms. i dont notice much of a difference but i have noticed with jan willem rom is that everything works including the system update app i also think its slightly smoother than the rest.

The differences between these roms are little to none, so it all comes down to which theme you prefer. Personally I would grab the original MIUI from their english website, and then update every friday via MIUI ROM Download, which is included in the rom. Remember the english pack.
But eventually you will get annoyed by the MIUI launcher and install another on top of MIUI. And if you do that, you might as well install HyperDroid GBX V12 or NexusHD2, 'cause they're smoother and faster.

thanks for the thread, that's what is annoying me too. SO many roms but most of them don't have difference, and SO many roms just being tweaked so much that there is no real working stock rom anymore XD

There will always be a stock rom.. The great thing about all this is that everyone is making their own version. You can just select which one you like and install it. That makes it so choosable. The one is adding some extra apps/themes, the other is tweaking it to be amazing fast. Now you can choose between all those ROM's which best suits your requirements.

as i said i am not interested in theme differences because one can always change the theme to one he likes best, no matter what rom is using
about speed - the 3 roms i mentioned looks the same to me and device mark gives similar results for all 3 of them
and no, i don't want to install hyperdroid or nexus roms because miui are smooth enough and i can't see the speed difference (maybe in quadrant but that's useless).
and, for the moment, miui appeals me more then other releases.
so, no one can find, let's say, 10 different things between these 3 roms?

as no one respond, can we conclude there is no real differences?

how to make my tp2 run faster after install a custom room ?

hello, please please anybody can help me to make my tp2 perform much more faster? everytime i do the soft reset, the memory only 40%, but after few minutes its auto raise up to 77-83%. My phone starts run really really slow, that's making me feel bad and weird. is That because of the new room i installed ? or i did something wrong ? , Please anybody have a software or something to make my phone run faster ? .
It's touch pro 2 from tmobile, running energy room.
if there is no way , is there anyway can i install a stock room from tmobile? i really want the stock room back ..... it's seem runing a little bit faster than the new room i installed .......
Thank You in advance.
Hi billdang21,
I have flashed quite a few ROMs including several of the Energy ROMs by NRG. I have noticed different performance on my phone with each ROM I installed. There are several variations of the Energy ROMs and they all seem to have a very polished interface with nice icons as well as some of the latest versions of TouchFLO/Manila. However, NRG does state that some of his ROMs containing the latest Manila are unstable and to "expect many bugs". I suggest that you try flashing some of his other ROMs to see if they work better for you. Additionally, there are other chefs and ROMs out there and each one is unique and will have different features, applications and performance. You may need to flash several different ROMs before you find one that works for you. I really like the look and feel of the Energy ROM but I am currently using At0mAng's Fusion ROM because it was the most stable for me and gave a good balance between OEM look/feel and performs well. I think you should try flashing several different ROMs before going back to the stock ROM, but if you still want to re-install the T-Mobile ROM, you can find it here:

Custom ROM Questions

I have had my HD2 for a month now. Been running the stock 1.48 ROM with all the tweaks and fixes from XDA. Everything works great. The newer 1.66 ROM has just been released in my country (I'm in South Africa, things are a bit behind here), and i was thinking of either flashing the stock or a custom ROM.
I've read on these forums from a fair number of people who claim that cooked ROMS are inherently unstable and suffer from random freezes.
Is there any truth to this. I was running Sakajati's Hyperdragon ROMS on my old Kasier, and they were 100% stable.
Or is the instability a result of multiple ROM flashes without using the MTTY process?
Thanks for your help.
I'd say run the stock 1.66 ROM and see how you get on, it might be fine with a few tweaks. After that, look into custom ROMs if you feel you need one
Hi Eddy.
Thanks for the reply.
I'll give the stock 1.66 a go.
was thinking of changing the original rom
which custom rom should i go for need advice

it really depends on your needs and deires... the only thing you can do is look through the various ROMs and then choose one that suits you or that you like... if its not what you want then change it...
I have been looking at a lot of ROMS, have not tried any yet.
I think i will probably go with Laurentius Ultimate power. I like the fact that his ROM includes a Radio, and he also does a lot of beta testing before releasing a ROM.
I've just flashed stock 1.66, will try that for a while. Then go the cooked route.
Duttys HG series are very good, using it at the moment (WinMo 6.5-style as I hate the new new buttons) - link is in my sig for those interested
from my personal experience i can tell you the best custom roms are faster, more stable and also have extra features that make them more fun compared to stock. but for this to happen you need to be careful with your flashing method.there is an excellent thread in the 1st page of the ROM development forum which i recommend you study thoroughly before attempting your first custom flash. also, remember to always flash a stock ROM in between 2 customs (or use mtty) and always hard reset the phone after the 1st boot. roms are also radio sensitive so you might also have to flash different radios to obtain the best combination. perhaps it sounds a little complicated but it's not really and definetely worth to try.
cheers mate and have fun!

If u r looking for stable rom, try 6.5 rom, not 6.5.x.
6.5.x roms is more finger friendly but contain more bugs than 6.5
Try Miri's rom or Xanny's rom. I used both and satisfied with both
Hi Antaed.
Thanks for reply. I've read all the HSPL and flashing posts. Not too worried about the process.
I agree with what you say, on my tytnII, custom ROM was much faster.
Good to hear you're not have stability problems with the custom ROMS for HD2

glad to help mate. i'm not a flash addict (just yet ) so i tried only roms from the notorious chefs - dutty, laurentius, xannytech, energy, etc. i wasn't disappointed by any of them, all are very good but each is different in its own way. my favorite is artemis (from sternas) because i find it closest to my needs - leo only packages, close to stock, essential addons and of course great, great performance. i recommend you try a few yourself so you can decide which is best for you.

[Q] Which WM6.5 Rom most stabil & best ?

Hello,
I want to ask which one WM6.5 Rom most stabil & best ?
Because i want to upgrade from WM6.1 to WM6.5
How to make 2 OS (operating system) in my PDA.
I want to use WM6.5 & Android?
How to install use 2 OS.
There is no best ROM. If you ask 5 people, you get 5 different answers.
If you don't understand the basic tasks needed, you better leave flashing to someone else...
The only way for you: READ THE STICKY POSTS and the FAQs in the WIKI.
There is a specific reason they were written: Noobs like you.
Mods: Please lock this noob/nonsense thread
This one!
I have used different ROM's. I have used Dutty's, Miri's, Energy ROMS. Both WM 6.5 builds 21..., 23..., 28...
But I wanted speed and much memory left.
So the ROM I am using now, as you can see in my signature, is the best for me.
After a soft reset, there is 150 MB RAM memory. With Energy ROM 23... I only had 70 MB RAM.
The battery goes for days and I am a heavy user.
This is a very clean ROM without Manila, so you have to install everything yourself.
Glad to be of help...
in the touch hd rom development section you will find a variety of roms by different chefs and every one of those tries to make a rom, that is fast and stable and most of all, to their taste of style and features. rom threads are marked as [ROM| or [RELEASE| and for most, you will find the release date, rom language and version and manila version in the thread's title, which will give you a brief idea, which roms are not for you, e.g. if you want an english rom, ignore the NLD and PTG roms. and have a look at the screenshots in the threads to find one style, you could live with every day. there is no point in flashing a rom that is fast, stable and has a lot of features, when it is hideous and you can't stand looking at it.
in the end you will find maybe 3 roms, you like and you can simply give them a try. remember to back up your pim data, with pimbackup or outlook or ms myphone, because flashing requires a hard reset and you will lose all information stored on the phone. and a word of advice:
you will not find a rom that is as fast or even faster than the stock rom, they are all slow, but they give you more features and more eye candy, which kinda makes it worth a try.
by the way, i am using cloudy's v0.6 wm6.1 with sense 2.5, with a good sense version, the wm behind it does not really matter.
for instructions on how to flash a rom, have a look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505377
for android as a 2nd OS, have a look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=732362
i also recommended cloudy rom, flash the latest version since it release till now, few week past, never hang even on heavy use.
Think this thread has been kept open long enough. Everyone has different tastes, like & dislikes so the perfect rom does not exist. You've been given a few pointers above

I flashed to Lite'ning Rom v5.1 and...

when I make or receive phone calls the person on the other end says I sound like I am under water or in a tin can lol
anyone else experience this?
if yes how can I fix it?
thanks
Litening Rom sucks. It has too many bugs and glitches. Use 1.5 verison of Litening Rom - it most stable. Or use the other much better roms like CyanogenMod (some features not working for now) or CriskeloRom (everything works fine in this rom).
oh i didnt realise lightening rom was that bad ...
you sure CriskeloRom is better? any particular version you recommend? i take it thats the CriskeloRom is the best of the lot then at the moment?
thanks for your help
Each on their own. While one is saying Litening ROM is bad others will say it's their favorite, so it's pretty useless to ask other than using by yourself. See these threads,

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1223402&highlight=Best+ROM
Regards.
Litening ROM is the best of the number of bugs and glitches. I try versions after 1.5 and they were all terribly unstable and unusable.
Try latest CriskeloROM, I dont find any problems in it. And it has normal stock android lockscreen, what is needed for me.
in the faq for the CriskeloRom it states:
when flashing from another ROM you need to
flash back to a HK3 stock rom and ensure you have CF root
where do i find both of these?
please help
thanks
p.s. i found the problem with the sounding like underwater or in a tin room, it happens because the fone is too far from your mouth
Try MIUI, it's the best rom on android IMO in terms of user experience and interface. Most other roms have good function but got undermined by android interface or ugly color scheme.

[Q] Hard decision to chose android for my hd2

Hi all,
First im sorry for my english
I have HTC HD2 EU version and everybody know windows sucks ;p I decided to change OS to android. And Im little confused, so many roms and distribution.
Please help me chose one or two
I want install NAND version.
Please give me your favorite! I want see the best with sense and without (clean+modes)
Thanks !
Jack
May be this is not you are asking for Sense but I recommend NDT ROM.... I'm also newbie and try several ROM. I'm using NDT MIUI ROM right now. I like the way they organize the theme. Just IMO
NDT
I would second the NDT MIUI rom. It is very stable, clean and fast. MIUI also has some nice themes. I would stay away from most of the sense 3.0 threads if you are looking to use wifi hotpsot and the camera as they are not real stable
The Cm7 roms are pretty stable to. Once you get Magldr you can backup and try a few till you find one you like
as stated before. if you want to enjoy your phone in all its ways, stay away from the new sense 3 roms. I was also the Sense guy, untill i tried miui. For me this the way my phone should work. Miui has ton of features its fast, its stable (Systeminfo shows almost 300 hours without reboots) and very versatile. Read the miui bible, cos there are features (usefull ones) there, which most users have never heard about. If you like theming etc. miui is the way to go. Everyday new themes which are applied by a click, no editing of apks needed. I seriously cant imagine go back to another rom, that would be a major downgrade for me.
the rom i use is JW miui from jan-willem3. jan knows what he is doing, so i recommend this highly
