Cyanogen Doubts - Wildfire General

Ive rooted my wildfire, however I want to get a new Rom, although I have heard that the fonts blurry, is there any other stable roms, based on gingerbread that are better.

cyanogenmod is great for battery don't know why u say the fonts are blurry... :s
give it a go see if you like it?

Fonts are completely normal

Fonts are ok.
The problem is with gmaps and gtalk fonts.

I understood why people are complaining after I flashed the official 2.2.1 ROM for a short while while using AlphaRev X. Apparently, it uses some effect which is similar to ClearType in Windows system's, making it appear sharper (Or, darker actually). This was not there in official 2.1, and, obviously not there in CM7.
But really, its fully readable, I have had no issues at all, and, as already stated above, give it a try, and, if it doesn't suit you, switch!

Just to add to the party, I see no problems with the fonts, and working very smooth and fast on my handset.

the fonts are slightly blur when compared to the stock 2.2 htc sense rom.

Give what a try?

[Q] Iphone rom

Can someone make a rom similar to the iphone's ui any replies would be great thanks
Sure, I'll get right on that.
Sent from my Liberty using XDA App
SOMEONE can, but I doubt anyone will. If youre running CM6 you could probably make a theme or somthing... try checking in the regular android theme section.
Moved to general as not development
Yeah there's an iphone theme on cm6, its ugly though. Well. I dislike iphones so that's just my opinion.

China company already has, it's called MiUi. Not sure if it runs on the Aria though. There was a report that it was sending info back to China, so caveat emptor.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=789566
I've been using their MiUi web browser, which was released separately, and is actually pretty sweet:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=829027
A guy translated it to English, and the MiUi guys saw it, and are making an official English port.
Yes I know miui but someone has to port it

If your looking for fonts just check out the fontchanger thread in this section also get a good launcher witch ever one you chose spend the money and get the pro version they have more options also the gingerbread key board works great there is some good battery status and notification bar symbols floating around to go to show us your home screens to see what others are doing hope this helps!!! Oh almost forgot a set CPU and rom manger are a must sense you will be doing alot of back ups HAPPY FLASHING!!!!!!!

It is in the devolopment forum but here is the link. http://files.androidspin.com/downloa...5.1_signed.zip
And the reason you dont have the market with CM is you need to download and install Gapps.zip for all CM roms. They are not included.
Not really sure why everyone seems to swear by iced glacier on here (other than its been out Longest) but I personally enjoy the sense ROMs provided by evil and gorilla a lot. The look of true HTC sense is beautiful by itself, though there are a lot of ways to theme them to your own liking. Plus, you get your HTC widgets by default, as well as other awesome HTC services. Plus, if speed is your thing, both can be overclocked. Battery life is good in both.
Anyhow, that's my two cents. Everyone has theit own opinions on what ROMs are best, and that's mine.

I dont swear by Ice Glacier. It is a good rom, but the others you mentioned are very good also. It is really about what you like personally. That is the great thing about Android and a rooted phone. You can check them all out and then decide what you like. All of them can be themed and every one can be overclocked for speed. Including Ice Glacier.

I was not trying to say that the roms I mentioned were the only ones featuring those things, just that they did have those features for those interested in them. and yeah, i love being on a rooted android phone, its awesome how much I can do with it that I couldnt before. btw, was that you who created the gorilla button for Gr8s Desire HD port? Great work, bro

Favorite ROM

Sorry if this has Been posted but what's your favorite rom with all these new releases. Or what's the best rom to flash and why? I am so overwhelmed and hoping for some good answers thanks!
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
It may sound cliche but the best ROM is the one thats the best for you.
Flash away! Try them all out and see which you like. You'll generally find a lot of people on CM7, Gingervillain, and Virtuous. Those are the most popular. Just try them out and see which you like the best. People have different wants and needs from ROMs.
I personally use CM7 because it has all correctly assigned physical keyboard mapping, probably best battery life, the gingerbread screen off animation, cyanogen theme manager, and cyanogen settings. But flash away and try em all. Just make sure you have the right cmw.

[Q] To root or not to root

I'm not new to rooting, but since I'm on my 3rd mt4g in under a month (first one had a broken power button, second had dust under the screen, third one good soo far) I have been wondering weither I should root and flash a new rom or not, or just leave it stock if I have to warranty it again. And yes I know I can return to stock, it just seems like a hassle to keep doing it at the rate I have been going through bad ones. Thoughts?

Well I'd root and just keep pd15img.zip handy just in case you had to

I'm using royalginger 1.4.1 and it is great. Smooth and great battery life plus wifi calling works. Atleast I'm pretty sure it does lol. But if your someone who wants a larger group of themes and help I may go with cm7 both are gingerbread just cm7 is older and more broadly tested and themed. It all depends on what you want, gingerbread or sense. Also we (teamroyal) have a honeycomb Rom but its a pre alpha, no phone app and pretty sluggish but its great if you want to just play around for awhile.
Hope that helps
Nic

you can also try a miui build. very fast and eye candy.

I can definitely recommend CM7 HyperDroid if you want something dark, minimal and fast. It's also very stable and only needs a 150mb CWM partition.
I second UltimateDroid, it has awesome customization options.
I'm not a fan of sense, but I'd definitely give it a go. HD2 has 2.0, 2.1 and 3.0!
And you could even try MIUI ROMs aswell, they have some really interesting features. And they only need a small (120mb I think) CWM partition which is always good.
