Hi folks!!
If i connect my X8 with my router NetGear DGN1000, the device connects and disconnects continuosly from the LAN.
If i connect my X8 with a router of a hotel (NetGear: lan with free access), i haven't issues.
May you help me to set the device's settings or my router?
Nobody?

Try without any encryption. I mean disable WEP or WPA/WPA2 encryption on your router and check if it's working!
Good luck!

Hi all,
I am ony my stock rom, rooted. I am using WPA2 in securing my home wifi connection and my laptops and desktops can connect to it without any problem but when i try to connect to the wifi network through my phone,it connects at first and drops after 5 or 10 seconds.
I tried using a manual connection setting(entering ip address, dns etc manually),but still it drops after some seconds. This happens only for WPA2 secured wifi, but if I use WPA as security it works fine on my mobile but the wifi connection on my laptop and desktop drop intermittently. I setup the router's wireless to work on a single channel so that if there is any interference it wont reset the interface. Everything works fine if there is no wireless security.
Can anyone provide a solution for this.
Thanks and regards,
Bobby Thomas.
im using WPA2 no problems what rom are you using?

For me too wifi work with WPA2
But do you agreed connexion between your box and your phone ?

It might be a problem with the /data/misc/wifi/ folder. If that is the problem, wiping the data partition should fix it.

Hi,
I actually was able to connect it to the router but it only connects for 5 or 10 seconds. Are sure that you can connect to your router using WPA2 , ie, using WPA with AES encryption(not TKIP which is just WPA). Have anyone tried connecting to a network with WPA AES encryption? Most of the WPA 2 routers are backward compatible ,ie, even if you select the WPA2 and enter the password the clients will negotiate accordingly, but I have configured my router as a WPA2 with AES encryption explicitly.
When I checked the data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf I can see my home network and psk key with along with other WPA1 hotspot lists.
It would be also nice if anyone could provide steps to wipe data/misc/wifi/ data.
Thanks and regards,
Bobby.
Wiping the data partition will also delete the .../wifi folder, but you could also replace the WPA_supplicant.conf file with a clean one or carefully delete the contents of the WPA_supplicant.conf file.

Anyone managed to connect successfully to Giganews vpn? phone says connected but not!
VPN is connecting but not working on my note. No one on this site seems to have a solution or answer. So I assume is must me a samsung issue. Crazy they would but a function on a phone that doesn't work.
Giganews vpn l2tp works 100% for me on rocket's rom.
I also tried openvpn, it connects, but my location always remain my own country, so I dun think openvpn is really working...
l2tp works. PPTP is connecting but no traffic is going the connection

The big answer would be - ICS. this should solve most of the networking issues.

Hi, i tried to connect my n10 to my adhoc wifi created with windows 7. But the nexus does not recognize it.
The netsh wlan stuff to create an adhoc wifi connection is not working for me, the only way to get a working adhoc connection is creating a network bridge between 2 wifi adapters in W7.
So I guess the only solution is replacing the wpa_supplicant file in my nexus. Does anyone have that file modified to connect to adhoc wlan?
Or are there any other solutions?
Thanks
come on! I need a solution ?

wpa_supplicant deals with WPA encryption not wireless connections. Its likely something else that is needed. If your manually connecting to the AP try using a dhcp server or static IP.

I just bought the Galaxy Y and it can't seem to detect my wifi connection at home. Now, it has been like this before with my friend's Y, so it must be my wifi router's setting. (The Y is able to detect other wifi networks around the neighborhood).
So my question is can someone help me to configure my router? For example, do you guys use PPPoE or PPPoA, security mode WEP or WPA etc? I have tried changing the settings one by one but still can't find my wifi network.
Right now these are my connections
PPPoE
Wireless Channel 11
Wireless mode b,g & n
Qos On
WPA2-PSK
Change the network security to
Wpa-** + wpa-***
**-the names usualy differ in routers but u will have one which provides 2 security forms at once...
Change channel to automatic
Make sure ur correct connection login details are entered!
Try this out and tell me what was the result u got

hi guys,
so i bought my Lg g2 yesterday and i can't connect to my wifi network, the phone says obtaining ip address over and over again. i searched the internet and found that is a very common problem. it has something to do with my router so i installed a firmware update. the router (dlink dwl 700ap) is borrowed from our cable company and is already quite old (the newest firmware dated from 2008). since updating didn't work, tried to change every possile setting in the router menu, also didn't work. (i came across a setting saying dchp disabled(by default), tried changing it to enable but some devivces could not connect anymore). i tried some apps from google play but non of them changed anything. i also tried to use static but i could not acces the web (i think the static setting were coorect since i copied them from my "ipconfig" in windows, wath i found weird is that the ip adress of the router said 195.168.0.50 while the ip on my computer said 85.XXXXXXXX.). so i factory resetted my G2, didn't work.
i can connect with every device to my router (s3, ipod touch, lumia 720, iphone 5s) and i can connect my lg g2 to every other network.
so should i return my lg g2, call my cable network or ?
can anyone help me ?
thanks a lot, i really appreciate it
ps sorry for my bad enlish
Turning on dchp will try to auto assign ips so make sure all devices are set to auto or reserve the ip at the router level if you wish some to be static.
As for static ip settings. Make sure the ip you're trying to get the phone isn't assigned.
Default gateway (from the information you've given) 192.168.0.1
Subnet mask is 255.255.255.0

thanks for the quick reply! i used the ip adress of the router (192.168.0.50) and your default gateway and still can't connect the web.
as for dhcp, i really don't understand how dhcp is disable as a default on my router and still every single device can connect and us the internet at the same time

Anyone else got the same problem ?
Can you connect to the hotspot on another phone?
Might be a stupid suggestion but since you asked, the password on your G2 could be wrong for your router :/

Yeo! Hmm I would say it's a problem with the router, esp since you can connect to other WiFi networks from your phone. Have you tried resetting the router itself? Drastic but I can offer no advice from the settings standpoint

yes did a reset, no change. Are you sure it is the router because i never had any problem with it.
I cannot be *sure* of anything but if your phone can connect to other devices perfectly well then the most obvious source of error is the router
You mentioned that toggling dhcp on breaks the connection for other devices - does it fix the connection for your g2?
I took a look at my router settings for static IP address and I have no idea how to set up static addresses haha.. (Not sure how your other devices connect if dhcp is off as I know next to nothing about networking)

i had that problem "obtaining ip address" when i use MAC filter, which allow only registered MAC address connect to the router. i registered my LG g2 MAC address to the router and the problem gone.
hi guys
i found the problem
it happens just when you disable auto update in "settings>general>about phone>update center>software update>check automatically"
