I downloaded the Amazon app of the day to my phone.
When I tried to do the same thing with my TF...Amazon said my device wasn't compatible...
How do i find this app in my phone to drop box it to my TF? I tried looking in System/app and downloads and download...and couldn't find it.
Side load it, its an app not optimized for Honeycomb, but it will probably still load.

Ahhh...thanks
Well, Im stumped again.
I downloaded the app on my phone but how do I get it to my TF? The appstore won't let me.
I think that I'm down to a manual transfer.... I don't know.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
Might be a dumb question to answer your dumb question but is your phone rooted? If you were able to install it to the phone, would using titanium backup work to copy the program off so you can restore it on the TF?
I just downloaded from the amazon app on my android phone, went on to the TF amazon app. Located my app via menu and the app should be rdy to download. No compatibility notice. Likewise, you can download from your PC, it'll say not compatible. Just go back into the TF amazon app and repeat.

I'm guessing you're talking about Peggle?
Buy it from amazon's website/phone.
Then open the Amazon app on your Transformer
press menu
select My apps
then in the list of apps, click install. It'll install and play fine even though it's not really supported (the tablet).
Ahh..thank you...I didn't think about the "my apps" part of it...that's great....I'll check it this morning

Does anyone know if it's possible to link the android/google market with the Amazon appstore or visa versa.

I know that, but when I go to update my application is there no way of the android market knowing that I've downloaded application from another source. They both basically have the same applications
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Why would one update an app bought from the other? If you are buying from both you must have both market apps on your device, right? So together all your apps are being updated.
Don't really see the issue here.

Try to install the app from Amazon and then use Titanium Backup's "Market Doctor", it might work
Nah that won't work for paid apps. It'll show as installed in the Market, but if you try and update via the Market you'll be prompted to pay.

Exactly. I tried this with setcpu apk installed. But was prompted to pay before I could get the update.
Sent from my Xoom using XDA App
did you then have a problem whereby market was always prompting for an update for an app you had bought via amazon? if so, how do you stop market banging on about an app you cant update?
Use Titanium Backup to break the market link.

whats the app to remove market restrictions? I'm in Aus and can't find the amazon app store
I believe at the moment you need sideloading, which I got by rooting with GingerBlur and then GreyBlur.

Run superoneclick enable market apps. Or do it manually using root explorer

So much easier just to get sideload wondermachine and sideload amazon app store and when you download the program, you will get the security error.
Then plug up your atrix to your PC, grab the file and transfer it to your PC. Then run sideload wonder and it will put it on your atrix.
Been doing this daily and takes about 30 seconds to complete the whole process...

Much easier to just install right from the Amazon app itself. Don't need a PC.

not talking about the amazon app...but when youdownload from the amazon market, it wont install...thus the sideloadwonder machine makes that part easy.

You can sideload without rooting also...as I stated above.

Anyone tried to install Peggle from the amazon app store today? I keep trying and it tells me my device is not compatible and it won’t let me download it. Has anybody got this to work yet? I’m going to try a few more things when I get home today and see if that works. Maybe spoof Amazon into thinking it’s a different phone?
Posted too soon. Figured it out.
posting the solution would be helfpul to others
Lol, yea sorry . I just logged in on the PC to the app store, clicked on the peggle app and clicked get the app, or whatever. Then went back to the phone and looked in "my apps", and it was there ready to download. Worked like a charm! The game runs fine on the phone as well. You will have to be on wifi to download it though, luckily we have wifi here at work.

Doesn't work if you're [cough] outside the USA as it can tell location from your browser
I got it 'by other means' and it's running sweet on my Streak. It's strange as I can get this working but I still cant get PvZ to run.

This worked for me, too. It said "unsupported" but when I looked at the AmazonStore app on my phone, it had a big blue button labeled INSTALL next to Peggle. Clicked and done.
Peggle works great on the streak. No issues.
I bought it in the PC store, too, but it doesn't show up under my apps. Could it be that the new version of the amazon store app only shows "supported apps"?
Could be. I think the newest update changed that.
If I put ICS on my Kindle, how do I get 4.0 specific apps on there? Right now I use my android phone that runs 2.3 to access the play store, then I backup and install on the fire.
I dont think my ZTE99 phone can run ICS but if it can, will Google Play recognize this and allow me to download ICS apps?
what apps are u referring to?

If you put ICS on your Kindle, you'd need to flash the Google Apps which will give you the Play Store. So you wouldn't have to deal with the backing up mess.
Google won't let you download apps designed for ICS on older OS versions. Nor will it let you install them.

Yeah I know. I thought there was a work-around or some sort of app repository that no one discusses in the open.
Why use some shady repository when you can get it from the play store?
I use this sometimes. Not sure if it is considered shady or not. Only found out about it in order to get google maps onto my stock fire.

If you install CM9, then you can just download anything from the Play store as your device will be treated just like a standard Android tablet.

I know im a bit late for the party, but i use this site ( http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Latest_Version/Google_Apps) to install the playstore. It has a list of the different cyanogenmods and which gapps is best for it. Just download, then install with twrp. Reboot and download whatever you want from the playstore. Some apps say that you cant install them, do to you device and others because of your location. I dont know how to fix the local one. But with your device, check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cssyIE4maZY
Of course he is talking about getting games to run, but its the same with accessing apps on the market.

That is because a lot of those apps use frameworks/APIs that are no longer in ICS.
Hello, I just flashed my new Nook touch last night. Everything went well. Except for one thing. Whilst I am waiting on the Play Store to decide it will work I would like to use the Amazon app store to download some apps. When I click get app I receive the following error. As you can see I have no idea what it's trying to tell me. The text in the error box must be white or something. I have the box checked for allowed from 3rd party. I guess I could just wait a while longer until the Play Store decides to work.... Any thoughts?

Did you un-check and re-check the install non-market apps check box? This seems to be necessary for some reason. I believe it is checked by default but in order to work, you need to un-check and then re-check it.
Yes I did. Thanks for the thoughts though. I wish I knew what the error message was. I can't read it. Drives me crazy. Lol.
