It's a shame you can't add -no stock img's for recovery anymore, but the defaults are:
3.1
no working sdcard
OK well I get your point that it's terrible it's taken this long but Moto have announced 3.1 and SD fix are coming soon.
When is soon though?

I am excited too. I just flashed back to DI18, and have my phone on my desk...I am checking it like every 5-10 mins lol.
What should I do ?
What should I do ?
If I have rooted and have customed rom ???
Can I still update without going back to 2.1 ???
Wow. There are a few people in here that haven't bothered to check the 2.2.1 OTA Staus thread or The Froyo OTA and all you need to know thread.

Oh, I see that the Sprint admin posted that.
Hopefully that is a typo and he meant 9AM. A couple people have already gotten the update.
I guess you go to about phone and update firmware and if the firmware is ready it will give it to you?
Personally I am doubting that the rumors of anyone getting the update already are true. I can't imagine that with as many people who are watching and waiting for this that nobody who is on any of these forums has gotten anything yet.
I have been sitting here toggling back and forth between forums thinking just that and then I saw the 9pm time and it all made sense.

Once an update is ready on Googles servers, your device will be notified no differently than VZW customers. VZW is just providing info about it since the devices run on their network.
You'll probably see something similar shortly on Motos site.

There will be a prompt on your device when the update is ready for you.
Chances are there will be a version in the dev threads very shortly after someone gets it.
I've never owned an android device, Xoom aside, that rooting wasn't frowned upon. So I am not sure how the update will effect unlocked/rooted users.
good **** thanx
The updwtr will make no difference. Were not relying on an exploit here we have full. Nand access via oem unlock. At worst it'll reinstall system and you just root again.

Strange to hear that it is slow as colleagues from 7500 forum are really excited with the speed of ICS update (and I believe that firmwares should be almost the same). Have you done full wipe?
Anyone else get this?
I'm one OTA behind, the incremental one that came in about a month ago never installed on my tab.
Thinking of going back to bone stock in order to OTA up to ICS and get the necessary files over to Pershoot but not going to do that if this OTA isn't really rolling out yet.

Yeah, about that--first boot left it somewhat sluggish when scrolling through homescreens & widgets, launching TouchWiz apps and responding to touches. But subsequent reboots seemed to fix that. Browsing in Google Chrome is a VAST improvement over the stock browser in 3.2.

I had checked with Pershoot on saturday and he hadn't heard from jake . . based on jake's past postings I chalk this up to someone being close to Samsung or Verizon development who's unable to share specifics but wanting to leak out a hint of info. Basically confirmation we'll get an update but still no ETA. I for one appreciate the heads up and will continue to wait it out as patiently as I can. Would love to be wrong though, and to find out that he is in fact able to send files off to pershoot. That would be fantastic.

Here's the article:
Motorola Brings Android Oreo to the Moto Z, Z2 Play, G5, G5S and More in Australia and New Zealand
Excellent, I hope that some users can share the zip, or something similar to install the update on other update channels, as they did with the G4 Plus when it received 7.0

Needs to be more independent reports before we can trust it.

Nope no Oreo. I'm from Australia. I think I actually prefer nougat. I have a Nokia 8 on oreo 8.1 and it's smooth and all but that's running a s835. This Moto g5 plus feels pretty smooth (apart from heavy live wallpapers and games) for a s625. And I like nougats overall look
