Hi,
i'm using Typhoon NAND Android on my HD2, but i'd like to test Phone7 as well.
Is it possible to install WP7 on SD card without killing android on nand?
No we can't.
But WP7 on Nand & Android on Sd yes !
Maybe you can save Nand Android Configuration in order to put it in Android on SD no?
I'm hesitant to say "No". What I'll say is "not yet". Never say "Never" in an XDA forum!

I was wondering if it would be possible to either Boot Windows Phone 7 through MAGLDR from the SD Card like you can Android by maybe partitioning the SD Card so it cn have it's own space?
Or a more realistic option which would be to have a NAND ROM that includes both Android and WP7 installed to the NAND and partition the SD card for storage? This second option I believe could be possible if the NAND is partitioned correctly to allow them both to run and then you could select them in the MAGLDR!
I would like some dev feedback on this as I would try building a ROM myself but I don't know the workings of the partitioning system in MAGLDR well enough to try!
Thanks in Advance for any help!

I've seen that but what I want is to boot Android and WP7 from NAND NOT run android from the SD Card like that guy done because that makes android run slow and I want android as my primary OS!

I run Android from SD as my primairy OS, WP7 is on NAND just to play with and test it. I tried Android on NAND, but to me it wasn't noticably faster then when running from SD.

Snap I'm using sd build of Android from magldr and it runs fine even boots ok, there might be a little lag when doing something the first time but other than that its great

Well the thing is I like to use a fully fledged Desire HD ROM and it's stupidly slow from the SD card... my current build is squashfs'd so only takes up about 200mb for the actual OS and I'm sure WP7 could be fitted in the rest of the space and like I'm doing now I can use EXT4 on the sd for data! Now what's needed is if someone can build a hybrid ROM!

Hi, anyone can share how to u do this ? is it through the method that uses 2 sd cards during the formatting stage ?
Btw, what if i dont mind swapping sd cards for diff os ? Can this be done and how ? I tried to insert another sd card which I previously use for my android sd build, tried the sd boot , it gave an error of sd kernel . anyone can advise ?
Thanks !!
I'm wondering that if I have 2 sd cards, can I use Android and Windows phone 7 OS on each card respectively?
If I could, I would buy one more sd card for android.
Actually, I the most like Windows Phone 7 OS among Android, WP7, Meego and WM6.5.
Could anybody tell me about it pls?
The short answer is no.
You can run Android from your SD card and still have a Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM on your phone.
You can have an Android ROM flashed to your phone (NAND).
You can have WP7 flashed to your phone (NAND).
You cannot have two NAND builds flashed at the same time (e.g. Android and NAND).
Therefore the best you can do right now is to have either:
WinMo 6.5 AND Android, or
Android NAND, or
WP7
Your solution... buy another HD2
Yes, you can have WP7 on nand and attached with one sd card, and then use a different SD card to run android from. Android will not be on nand, but you can run it from sd with magldr. Thats what I'm doing so I have a lot of space for each os... I have my 16gb card for WP7, and my 32gb card I have several android builds working. Working great for me now! You have to make some changes to the init.rc file in most android builds to make them work, but there are a few that work as is. There's a couple stickied threads in the HD2 Android SD Development section.
Also, you can partition your SD card so you can have WP7 and android using the same card. Instructions also in the sd dev section.

You forgot WP7 AND Android from SD
Quite correct, sorry.
I currently have a dual-boot system with WP7 on NAND and several Android ROM's on SD. Even though the storage for all SD ROM's is the same (for example, you take a picture in one and it's visible in the gallery of another), there is absolutely no file sharing between my NAND OS and my SD OS's.
Well, I am now planning to get rid of WP7 and I want to have an Android ROM on NAND and one or more Android ROM's on SD and I want the same thing: to partition my SD card in a way that the NAND build only sees, say, 3GB of my 8GB card and the SD builds see the other 5GB.
Is this possible? How can I achieve this?
well i guess we can do everything with our hd2 ...but not something like this ... once u install android in nand it's the only os in ur phone ...and u can run another rom only if u delete the one before

What? No, that's not correct. Using MAGLDR, you can have a NAND Android ROM and as many Android ROM's as you want on SD. That's not what I'm asking.

Hey
Sorry for this stupid questions but after this lots of "hd2 Wp7 Rom" posts i must ask..
Since a few of months i have a htc hd2 with magldr and i used as wph wp7.5 (7740) and as boot from sd card a android rom. Is it now possilbe to boot andoid as nand and Windows phone 7.5 from a sd card? Because for me sounds a rom that i can install this only on a sd card as second bootsystem after android.
Thanks so far

sorry its not possible
only possible is dualboot with android on microSD
okay thanks
Is it possible? I could only find threads about 6.5 from nand and android from sd, but i was thinking it should be possible to fit both to nand, and then use data2sd to send android apps and data to sd card, and install all wm apps to the sd card as well.

Yes you can dual boot WP7 and Android, but on WP7 can be inn NAND. You have to run Android from SD card. This is the only way you can dual boot both OS's. Also you can not use apps to SD with WP7 like you can with Android. For one thing WP7 does not support removable storage at all, and two WP7 actually uses the SD card in the HD2 for the internal storage.
i know i can run wp7 and android -___- i am talking about running windows mobile 6.5 and android, both on nand, you must have misread my post

Sorry about that I did miss read it, actually when I read it last night your thread was right under a thread asking about dual booting WP7 and Android plus I had been up all night working on a bootanimation, must have been seeing double lol.....
Anyway though the answer is still the same pretty much. You can run Win Mo from NAND and boot Android from SD card. You can either do it the old fashion way by using the file explorer to open CLCAD and HARET, or you can install a dual boot app in Win Mo to do it with just. Do some googl searching and you will find several apps for this. Just so you know though you can only boot one OS from NAND no matter what OS that is.
