remap keyboard dock buttons - Galaxy Tab 10.1 General

This is just a thought to anyone who might know anything about the dock:
Perhaps we can find a way to remap the mail button to go to gmail instead of the email program. And also, perhaps find a way to stop the standrd on screen keyboard from popping up when the tab is docked?\
Thanks

Use Hardware key to Show Notification Message

Is there a way to map a hardware button to display the Notification popup (New Mail, Voice Mail, Reminder) while in another application? I know you can go back to the Today screen and use the left Smart Button, but I would prefer to do it without leaving that screen.
I currently use SmartsKey and AEButton to remay my buttons all over the place, but from what I can tell neither of them can do this.
Any thoughts?

[Q] HTC 'Phone Pad' Keyboard

Hello
The QWERTY keyboard has a 'minimise' button to make the keyboard dissappear. The 'Phone Pad' does not... anyone know why, and whether there's any way of acheiving the same result...?
Thanks
When I used to use the HTC_IME mod keyboard on my hero, it didn't have the button to get rid of the keyboard either, but you could use the back key to get rid of it. Maybe this will work?
I have it on my phone ?
Where is it you don`t have it ?
I've used 3 different types of keyboards and finally settled on SlideIT and holding the "Menu" button usually minimizes the keyboard.
Press the back arrow key to minimise the phone keypad
Spock with the 'back' button is that, in some apps (such as Android Market), it takes you back to the previous page rather than just minimizing the keyboard. A small but annoying fault...
I like the Phone Keypad but it doesn't always offer T9. I don't understand why it's available in Messaging but not in the browser. I don't get it.

[Q] Keyboard on longpress menu key

Hi all,
I really miss the keyboard popup from a longpress on the menu key from Android v1.6.
Anyone found a way to implement this on the 2.2?
Its a big help when using things like emulators that want a keyboard.
that would be interesting to know... especially when searching for songs i'd appreciate to have this function
yeah I've searched everywhere for a solution to this problem and I'm really surprised at the lack of interest in this. If you are in an app that needs a text input but doesnt display a text field, then there's no way of opening the keyboard! And I cant seem to find any way to map a keypress to keyboard either, there seem to be lots of examples of how to map key presses to apps, or search, but not the keyboard.
Phones with physical keyboards have a definite advantage here.

Touchy Track Pad on the Dock?

Several times I've had the ring cursor suddenly appear, highlight text, then it gets deleted as i'm in the middle of typing. anyone else had this happen? i'm assuming that my thumb is just close to the trackpad? Any way to adjust the sensitivity on this thing? I regularly use the dock as a mini laptop and do work on it, so this is very frustrating - especiallly in email where there is no undo function.
TIA

You can disable the touchpad by pressing the 4th button from the left in the shortkey row.
To improve your user experience of the TF+dock, I strongly urge you to learn all those shortcuts.
