Petition: ZenExp Rev8 to be Re-opened

Ok, I've been waiting for this rom to be released and finding out that it was canned due to lack of interest. If enough votes we can get this rom reopened and released. This rom needs to be released so it can break the monotony of the Gingerbread and Honeycomb roms thats out there. ZenExp rev 7 was beautiful and I can't even imagine how Rev 8 would look like.
Please vote to have this roms released. Thank you.
P.S. I don't know no other way to state my vote, maybe by typing "please release"

Yes! I was on this for a year, and I had to finally move on -- one of the saddest days of my life. I would love to see Rev8!

Yea I'll vote even though Im on a Dinc now. I still have my Eris laying around enjoying its retired life. Could have made a poll to go with your thread.

This was one of my favorite roms. I use xtrSENSE now. The froyo and gingerbread roms are alright. I just don't really care for them. The sense based roms run so much smoother on my phone. I would love to see this reopened. I would definitely rock it.

Excellent people, keep it coming. We need to let MAK know that we love his work. GB is great but there are too many roms that look the same. I use now GSB and go back and forth with xtrSense/xtrRom. I would love to see this released. It'll be my everyday rom.
If this comes out I wouldn't get another phone. All these phones coming out with different UI and downloadable 3d ui's that the Eris can't handle. But if this comes out I'll be more than satified.

Hm, maybe I'm missing something, but I'm not sure I see whats so appealing about that UI. Hopefully this doesn't sound like I'm trying to rag on your idea, I'm not, trust me.

Its not my work, but somebody elses. Its simple and different from all those Gingerbread roms (they are all so plain). At least this rom has some themes that are appealing.
You may look on this thread on the 5th page for the zenexp rev7 to get an idea and some more info. but its the same screen shots I posted.

I had a feeling it was for people to create their own. I just noticed that with all the CM7 themes. they look awesome.

In the event that anyone else is in the same boat, I thought I'd share my experience with the Acer Iconia tablet in conjunction with my CM7 Evo. In a word: awesomefulness.
There's no wifi at work (don't judge), so I've pressed my Evo's wifi hotspot capability into action, and I really couldn't be happier. I'll probably die of some sort of radiation poisoning, but I'm good with that. Using Touchdown for Exchange and Docs to Go, I have an ideal manager's tool.
I took a road trip to Arkansas this weekend (from the DFW area), and used the same setup while in the car (I rode in the back seat). Couldn't have worked better or smoother, really.
I've also rooted the Acer, which makes life all that much better.
I share because I care. Props to the CM7 team for turning out such a great product.

How much does it run? I've heard great things about it so far! I want to get an android tablet but I can't decide which one I want. Right now I have an ipad 1 but I would be much happier with android.

I don't know about the Acer but my mom has a zoom. It badass all the way. I'd almost kill for one but it depends on who the target would be lol

Just like there are many tablets, there are many ROMs. The OP is simply sharing his experience with the combination of CM7 and the Acer Iconia.

it was three pics...and no shes the same, i was advised by a friend of mine to stop trolls to simply remove the pics altogether so people like you stop trolling every post i make, it works most of the time, that's why i haven't changed it back...

The over hype of the cm team....? They are referenced the most due to their size of development and everyone knows what they are. Can you tell me of any other phone os that has the reach that the cm team has and conducts its self with all their code being out there and releases nightly builds like Linux distros wtf man.....oh yeah where's your nexus your "agent" guarenteed last week lol

I didn't start this thread to bash or praise any one particular ROM over the other. I'm using CM7 on my Evo with my Acer Iconia ($449 for the 16GB model). The Acer has a USB port, so you can actually charge the phone battery from the Acer battery while the phone provides the Wifi hotspot. I just thought it was cool. YMMV.

Why do u want to downgrade your HD2 to an operating system made for dummies???

iOS is a closed its not like android in the way that the source code is available for the world to see... And iphones are all alike to each other besides suttle changes and has notthing in common with hd2 hardware... So even if the source code was leaked it would be nearly inpossible to correct all the bugs and incompatibilty that would rise and APPLES legal hammer would sue everybody

Some dude, without searching, asks if we can port iOS, then a some dude will give the very hilarious and completely original joke of "why would you downgrade your HD2 like that..." and be very proud that he has successfully executed humor.
Then someone takes the time to write a legitimate post with a full explanation on why it cannot be done even though the OP will never read it since he never bothered searching in the first place.
Then someone like me points out the worthlessness of the thread and most of the responses in it.
Then a couple more people will argue as to why iOS is better/worse than Android is better/worse than WP7 and the thread either gets closed or finally dies out.

My name is "Jack" and I am a flasher.
It started out innocently, and I only flashed with a small group of like-minded individuals. But soon, my desire to flash grew into a compulsive and uncontrollable need to seek "the next big thrill" in my flashing indulgences.
I always wiped before flashing, so I at least had some interest in hygiene. But now I don't even care about that! I seldom wipe before "doing the deed" anymore. I know it's reckless and maybe even dangerous but....damn it's exciting!
Now, it seems, I find myself flashing nearly every day, and I do it in places I never would have dreamed...at work, in my car, at restaurants. I fear that soon I will be caught in the act, but that is part of what is so thrilling. I can imagine a co-worker walking in and exclaiming: "what are you doing!"
I know it's wrong and that my behavior could get me into trouble...but I can't stop!
Please help....somebody....anybody!!!!!!

thanks to all of the great people who put there time into these roms so people with addictions like me have something to flash I would also like to thank all the people who put time into the CM7 themes and all the extras that I have used over the past several flashes(to many names to name so I give one big thanks)

Try the 5/30 AOSP its just amazing. Never been so snappy.

I just downloaded the 5/30 last night (and flashed it- but I didn't feel like doing the market fix or changing my mtd partitions), then flashed Mild Salsa 2. I then proceeded to nandroid back to Mild Salsa-JM and play around with that and do a logcat, and then nandroided back to my AOSP/CM7 5/16 (which is my daily).
I flash alone. I flash in front of my kids...and sometimes my wife. I miss calls because of flashing. I know I could quit if I wanted to. I feel sorry for you guys that don't have that kind of will power just to stop. In fact, I'm going to leave this same rom on all day.
Oh wait...Mild Salsa 3. I guess I picked the wrong week to quit flashing roms (yes, and "Airplane" reference.

I have been Flashing so much that my best friend has a T-Mobile Samsung Vibrant which I will say is a pretty nice Phone .... not so nice coverage in our area where I was getting download speeds with sprint close to 1.5 he barely gets dial up speeds .... but on to my story he decided it was time to flash a ROM and knowing how addicted I was he said here you can bust my phones "Cherry" well me being the flasher that I am said .... "hey how hard can it be" well its not like my Hero (which I am so use to flashing) .... well his Vibrant has a new look and feel
I am sorry My HTC HERO it wont happen again till I get either the Nexus or HTC 3D and even then I will keep you just so I have something to flash .....

I have at least 2 nandroids for every rom I have and it equals out to about 38 nandroids..... lol

My desktop was so covered with zip folders it was a little out of control, took me an hour to go through everything and figure out what was what.

Funniest **** I've Read Up Here In A Long Time!!! Lmao....

Wheres Zidzhu? Well............

Everybody has been wondering where Z has gone or been well I think I might have an incling where he might be. Well not where but what he is doing. Look at this post by Z:Z's post about MT and Unlocked Bootloader and that my friends is where I think he is. I personally feel the reason he has not been around for a while is because he is trying to get these things sorted for us. Like he said, we would not be able to change codes for the MT unless we have a cracked or unlocked bootloader. Well now we have the unlocked bootloader and he has all of a sudden dissapeared. Don't you think that is a bit unusual of Z to do something like that as the bootloader is unlocked. Well its obvious, he is now doing the things that couldn't be done when the bootloader was locked and I have this really strong feeling he is gunna come back with a grand opening of something like, "Full multi-touch for x10, 100% Legit" Like he likes to say hehe. Just maybe that is what he is doing. I hope I am right.
What do you guys think?

I have all the respect for your position, but I think that if he wish to tell us what he is doing, he would told us. And if he is doing say, full MT, 16M colors or a brand new 16-Core CPU emulator app, he has all the right doing it privately and surprise us when he wants it!

He forgot his XDA password.

Like everytime when he dissapeared, he is going to surprise us. Do you remember first FreeX10 Froyo ROM? He dissapeared for a month and then he came with working camera fix

you posted something like this every time when people come out with idea. its not wrong to try. this is developers forum...idea is always welcome for phone improvement. let give dev time to figure it out. Z found MT driver might be 1st step to do it. who knows...Z always come with full of surprise.

You know, this isn't his job. Just because he hasn't been here for a month doesn't mean he has to be working on something. Sure, if he is, that's great, but don't come here expecting him to release something..that's unfair for him.
All devs have lives out of doing this. They do this in their free time. They're human beings like you and me. You can't expect them to be on this site and make something new every week.

One thing that really annoys me is when people say he has left when no one knows if he has also I think he will come back as he hasnt said goodbye or anything like. He does this all the time. He dont need to give eta so why that mean he has left. Remember last time he was goin to leave he said and because everyone helped him keep up what he enjoys he stayed. He is coming back and if not I hope he is enjoying a nice cold beer relaxing with his other half
