Hey all, did not see this posted anywhere...if it was forgive and delete...voodoo for our beloved transformer...

Its based on 3.0.1 sources. Need asus to release new kernel source from the 3.0.1 update.

Ok the market app is out in the market. It sideloads the sound modules so it looks like it's good to go for all versions.

supercurio was working with clemsyn on obtaining the source that clemsyn used to make a custom kernel for 3.1. So no, we do not need to wait on ASUS to release the source. ASUS does need to release it though, it would make things easier. You could see supercurio working on trying to obtain it in his kernel thread.

anyone buy it yet? is it worth it? There's so many settings based on the screens in the market. Is there a guide to what does what?

Pretty much no settings for the Transformer. However it was like that when i first bought it for my Galaxy Tab, so rest assured that everything will come.

so does it make a big improvement?
Yes it makes a huge difference I have always used sc kernel on my galaxy s and the sound is phenomenal compared to stock, the recording presets also make a big difference, however the app does little on the tf for the moment but it wI'll come in time

Yes. Almost every Nexus S custom kernel includes Voodoo.
bought. Worth it for sure. Any chance of an equalizer being built in or are there other apps for it?

What android version is it based off? Or are they starting from scratch with an HC base? In which case, won't they need the source code?
Or is bonsai a modified stock rom?
i dont need a signature

According to there site they are starting from a stock w/root US-8.4.4.5. Not sure which kernel. I'll ask one of the devs. The two main devs are Randy_t and Mammon.

dang mammon responded pretty fast to my pm.
He said it would be a bonsai kernel with init.d support. But was not sure about OC yet.
Hope these guys get it together.. that would be cool.

Yup, can't wait to try it out. Mammon said he has a 60% speed and performance increase WITHOUT any overclocking of sorts.
I believe it, because my Epic FLIES with their roms. And to boot, gets amazing battery life.
Dear developers, I've decided to create a poll so people could vote.
I have been using Asus based Picasso rom, upgrading kernel from time to time. I'm still on 1.0.8 (Thor kernel) because IMHO its the best and most stable Tom around for my tablet.
I've tried xoom, galaxy, thrive and stock acer Rome but rolled back to this lovely Asus based one.
Moar = More
I chose "No" because in my opinion, Xoom is the best but I have not test the Thrive for the moment.
I'm still using the ROM mentioned above just because of browser sync, for example.

You do know you can inject the browser from your VP ROM into any other ROM before install correct?
I just went back to this rom after using xoom for a week, for me this is one Rom that I can live with whatever the issue is ( freezing when coming out of standby). M-Deejay said transformer will have its own Rom which is not under VP and it will be based on 3.2.
I actually loved the Asus based 1.0.8 and was torn between that and galaxy. I was rather annoyed when Asus base was dropped after 1.0.8. the Acer base 1.10 was very very quick and stable. When Asus based bombed out with unity v4 I just stuck with galaxy port. When Asus release 3.2 I am sure we will have another virtuous Picasso to play with. I did use Asus 1.0.8 with Thor beta 2 and yes it was electric. Still is and while awaiting galaxy update might use Asus base with Thor kernel again. Would be nice to see unity v9 for Asus base Picasso rom. Lol

I liked them for the fact you could use an asus based theme. Seeing as how themes are a bit lacking for our beloved acer, it's a nice option.

That's exactly what I'm talking about! Vote please, maybe some developers might pay some more attention to Asus based ROM.
Asus base was the first thing I flashed when I got my a500. Had a very good experience with it, before experimenting with other roms.

+1 For Asus rom!
Is ASUS based rom fully compatible with ACER material ?
I want to change rom because I have problem when I put my tablet (still in 3.0) in sleep mode and come back.

I don't have the update.zip saved anywhere unfortunately, because I deleted the image after flashing. I've got it installed and running though, also made a backup to roll back if I don't like any new rom.
Maybe you might PM mDj to send u a link.

True. I'm also using Thor's kernel 1.1: epic combo IMHO.
I'm glad somebody decided to do a poll like this. I'm hoping to get an Iconia in the next month or so, but I would really like a Transformer port and I can't seem to find one here. I've played with the Thrive, XOOM, and Galaxy, but I really like the elements included in the Transformer more (widgets, ice cube, and office app to name a few). Hopefully when I can finally get my hands on one, an option will present itself.

Moving to General.
PS: Every Q? thread should be posted in General.
Like, the title says...I wonder what will happen to the I/O tab. No updates to touchwiz, will we get 3.2? Or will it be forgotten very quickly?
I am thinking it is forgotten. Remember there were/are at most 5000 of them. A very small percentage, and more then likely a large percentage are rooted and running custom ROMs at this point anyway (mine is not because I wanted to watch Google movies on it, but that turned out to be an epic fail, but more on that in another thread).
Since we got it for free, I can't really blame them, but I can still be disappointed I guess.

So the I/O got 3.2? Was it with or without Touchwiz?
I wouldn't say it was free. How much were the tickets, $900?

Didn't they get Nexus S phones aswell? .
I don't think the 10.1 I/O versions will get touchwiz, usualy developers for android wants a pure android experience?
The GIO is a developer build - which means it is great for custom ROMs - i am running Task's 3.2 ROM on it and it smooooooth and much more responsive than before
Can someone please confirm that the I/O got 3.2 also?

3.2 update was only for Retail tabs. I/O didn't get anything till now except for the Google movies update.
Well it got from 3.0 to 3.1 and the goog movie update.
But what is strange is that as a dev.device it doesnt get the 3.2 first. forgotten maybe?

We got to 3.1 with movies and no Touchwiz. I wouldn't be surprised if ICS turned up.

Well, it's not really like this tablet is google's "Nexus", right?
Yea i wouldn't say it is a dev tablet seeing as the xoom was the first out with HC all the major updates went to that tablet first. I think of it as a limited edition.

Indeed, now when you say it. I'm 99% sure that I heard someone from androids dev. team saying in a interview (when the xoom was new and everything was developed) that the Xoom was the tab everyone was "keeping in mind" when coding HC.
Just check with OTA and KIES.....still nothing on the I/O tab

I know alot of people are working on ICS but since honeycomb is older wouldnt it be easy to make a port? Just wondering.
You should port it real quick, and let us know which version was easier

Considering how far along ICS is and that Honeycomb is inferior, no.

ICS is better
ICS runs very smoothly so there is no point in porting honeycomb
Also Honeycomb is not open sourced.
Honeycomb has been ASOP since they released the ICS source code....

As far as I know there hasn't been official confirmation by Acer to the public yet but yes, several "blogs" have claimed that Acer has confirmed to them that the A500 will get Jelly Bean eventually. Personally I don't see why it wouldn't unless they EOLed the A500 and even then it'd really be a burn for them not. Take it as a grain of salt until you see Acer throw something up on Facebook though....which they may or may not do since they've gotten crap every time they promised an update (and it came later than promised).
Acer South Africa replied to my email saying that the A500 will be getting Jelly Bean but they don't know when.

And again the A501 will be left in the cold...
Why, Oh Why, did I buy the flagship product from Acer (at the time)? Maybe I should have gone for a Sammy instead...
If JB is anything like ICS 4.0.3, then no thanks.
Best part about a500 receiving JB is possibility of XDA developers like Civato getting their hands on source code and tweaking it. If you haven't tried out his ICS Stryker ROM then flash it to see true potential of a500 hardware. I've been switching between that and CM10 JB ROM which is also very stable now. JB has serious potential especially once you include a kernel from ezterry or linuxsociety.

Acer Australia & NZ told me today on facebook that the A500 would not be getting Jelly Bean because the processor does not support it.
A complete lie, the Motorola Xoom has the same processor and they have Jelly Bean already.
Acer are lying assholes.
LOL, no need for JB specially for A500, A200 will do as well
