Did any one tried to watch something?
Has anyone? Yes almost daily I watch stuff on Megavideo and just as of last night it was fine.

I do not have a tablet yet :-( But yesterday I have made my choice - transformer instead of Galaxy Tab 10.1.
Since there is no Natflix app for us yet I am wondering if it will be possible to watch stuff on megavideao (I have heard about it few days ago).
I have never used it... on PC as well - can you tell me how, what do I need?
Thanks!
First heard about tonight and checked it out, works great, just got done watching Easy A, only thing that sux is the sound is so quiet on the already quiet speakers but I used volume+ to help that while watching.
megavideo works but i seem to be having problems with HD movies as they are too jerky

First, the transformer is amaing! second I dont go to Megavidoe directly but through other sites that find my videos for me. To watch you dont need anything but flash. There is nothing special that youneed other than flash, just go through your browser. There are ways to be able to us it unlimited without having to pay.

There is a Flash lite plugin that came with the phone, however it will not work for 10.1. Your just going to have to wait until 2.2 comes out, should be end of september.
You have to use a computer. Full flash only exists for 2.2 and higher. Our phone's CPU is powerfull enough, particularly if they use GPU as well. And I think it was determined we have the correct CPU family to use the existing Flash in the Market once we get 2.2. You could try Eugene's leaked and hacked 2.2 in the dev forum, but I read there were some problems with it. Other than that, we're waiting on Samsung, or maybe CM6. Sounds like the CM guys need drivers from Samsung though.
There's also a browser replacement... Skyfire? That's supposed to make Flash video work. The reviews I read say it's a bit crashy though. And we do have Flash Lite pre-installed, but I'm thinking you already tried that.
Seems like a pain to try and do online classes on a phone, don't you have to write stuff down and do things? or is online school just watching videos.

I can watch videos or read the text book. Really useful as I have a heavy course load and uses wasted time, I.e. car rides, waiting, or to just have it on hand all the time.

You could look into getting a small netbook. The Asus eee PC's are cheap and perfect for what you describe.
+1 for the Asus eee netbooks. I carry one with me every day while I'm driving for work.
Before anyone asks, no I don't look at it while I'm driving.

The skyfire route didn't solve the issue. A blank window pops up when I try to access the e-book.
I'll just wait I few months for flash support instead of spending a few hundred on a netbook that is probably worse than my phone.

Even if you got foyo it will still be a pain to do it on a phone. Maybe you should get a tablet since you refuse to use a pc.
Ok. So the media hub is out. Looks like you can rent and/or own movies depending on title. The renting is 2.99. I've found own for 9.99 and 12.99. I'm a little worried about paying DVD prices (or somewhat less for some titles) and not getting the DVD, or getting the ability to transfer to another viewing device, ie. dvd, computer. Anyone know what the lowdown is on transfers, etc? I know I've had a hard time trying to find a movie that I can actually put on this phone via dvd ripping from my own dvd library (if that's even legal) or for download from any legal source online. At least the media hub has that going for it.
Anyone know if there are other avenues to actually use the awesome power of this device to watch movies in my palm? Is Media Hub better than?
Ps. I think it is funny that Forrest Gump is listed as comedy. Nice job classifying that one guys.

Nope, just Vibrant as far as I can tell.
Does it bill to your Sprint bill or is there separate payment information?
probably have to stop by the store so they can take a melon baller to your seat cushion.
I'm not really sure how the payment works. I exchanged my phone today due to the back button issue. Now I haven't received the new update yet.
Media hub payments
Ok. So I broke down and bought the latest star trek. Basically, you enter your credit card information into Media Hub the app stores it there (actually, I think it stores it on Samsung's server). I don't think there are any alternatives. Now, based on the current download rate and percentage, I should be able to watch it sometime next week.

3G? 4G? Wifi? On 4G, the previews always played for me instantly. Even the 2 and a half minute trailers.
I watched a few previews over 4g. I have to admit the video quality was excellent and playback smooth. This might be good for an occasional rental, but once netflix comes out for Android they can kiss this goodbye.

download speed and AllShare
Well it looks like there is no AllShare support. Can't push this thing to my TV (actually PS3) for viewing. The movie doesn't show up in the AllShare list. I'm not surprised I guess, just disappointed. My guess is that the movie is not being stored in any meaningful format so AllShare couldn't read it if it wanted to. Of course, there could be a way around or some setting I'm missing. I don't think it's a setting at this point though. Media Hub has no settings anywhere that I can find.
The video quality is pretty awesome, no skips, studders, sloops, woops, or whillips. The sounds wasn't *bad*. It's a decent movie viewing experience - even for a big screen action blockbuster. Would be awesome during a long flight, or similar, without having to drag along extra electronics.
However, combined with there currently being no mini-usb to hdmi cable means no support to watch Media Hub movies on a bigger screen. Looks like I'm back to looking for another solution to watching movies on my phone. 12 bucks isn't really a good investment vs. the actual DVD/Blueray (3 dollars more on Amazon). If I was wealthier, maybe. I think this means I won't be using Media Hub, except for the one movie I already paid for.
About the download speed:
I didn't bother trying to watch it before the download was finished so I don't know if that is possible. I think it was a 1-2 hour download but I didn't keep track, maybe I could have started it sooner. Not to bad I guess (over wifi). I couldn't imagine doing this over 3g...definitely an overnight thing.
Wow! So far my first initial impressions with the Streak unlocked is very good! I never played with an Android phone, but this one is blowing me away with what it can do compared to my iPhone 4. I love how much control I get with this device. For the first couple of hours, I was getting error messages when browsing sites about server redirects and also noticed the screen was never auto rotating on 2.2. I found the Dell package update and now I am loving the browser and the rotation works perfectly! So far I downloaded the Dolphin HD and Firefox Browser, but prefer the Dolphin. I also synced my iTunes library and photos using Double Twist. I bought some games - Fruit Ninja, psx4droid and snesnoid. I only tried psx4droid which runs very well. I read a few online comics using flash and played some music listening from it's very loud rear speaker. I really like it. I am still trying to figure out how to add words to Swype, but eventually will figure it out. All I need to do now is find a good podcast player that does the 2x speed like my iPhone and somehow get Netflix playing on it and the phone/tablet will be perfect. I love how portable it is compared to my wife's iPad. I can actually fit it easily in my pocket and use it for real web browsing and book reading on the Kindle app! Does anyone think buying a magazine subscription on Zinio is worth it?
I think this is the post your talking about I pulled my build prop from my phone and it didint have the suggested value thou heres the link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11268565&postcount=1201

Performance Fix. I am running 318 with the performance fix and it works well for me.
Installing any of Steve's ROM's requires that you flash a replacement recovery, see this guide at streakdroid.com.
So I updated with the rooted 3.1 and it's awesome, but when I got into the market, there's just the apps and books tabs but no movies tab. Anyone else have the movies tab yet or is this coming from the OTA and not the leaked one?
i think movies only works with a 3g xoom so far, the wifi xoom and tf may come latter

They must be blocking it from non rooted devices too, because I have no Movie tab in my market after upgrading to 3.1. However, I do have one on my pc on the Web based marketplace.
I'm not rooted and I can't see the movies either after 3.1
It's not available on all honeycomb devices yet, but I'm sure we'll find out more when we can have in in the coming weeks

Stupidity Either that, or it's a ploy by the carriers to push people into overages and ever more expensive data plans, they can't do that if you're only using WiFi.

Just got my A500 via Staples mail order. Using the stock browser, I tried to catch up on my Falling Skies via XfinityTV with no success. Instead of a show, I got a message to install Microsoft Silverlight plug-in.
One of the reasons I got a tab is to be able to watch shows online when I'm stuck waiting for family at rehearsals, etc. I already have an e-reader and a video player, so this is the gap I need to cover.
Is this possible? Do I need a different browser? Or am I outta luck?
Thanks in advance.
UPDATE: In case anybody else is interested in this, Comcast "thinks" that the Xfinity android app will be updated to allow actual tv episode watching in a couple of months. Apple took precedence and they will eventually finish working on it for Android. Meanwhile, their app is good for controlling your DVR remotely, which is useless for me, which is why I tried to watch through the browser. Which is why I ended up posting here.
As far as I know there isn't any silverlight support for android yet. There was a project called moonlight that was supposedly going to bring silverlight to android but I did not hear anything new about it for the past 6 months, so I assume it is dead.

To whom? It's hardly Acers or Google's fault that these sites decided to use a Windows only technology for their media streaming.
HBOGo on A500 works.
And given that HBOGo app streams video in H.264, the stream from the website is higher quality.
I am using Dolphin Browser
Did you install the app (from where, I don't see it in market) or do you just navigate to hbo dot com via browser? Thanks.

Almost. If you're on honeycomb 3.1, you need to go into your browser's settings and set the viewing mode to "desktop." If you're still on 3.0, you will need to set your browser to debug mode to enable desktop UA string.
Though really, you will want to watch on 3.1 because supposedly it gets better video performance with Flash.
And if some of the online shows require real player how do you watch that since
the extension is .smil and android real player can't open that to play.
Trying to run hbogo on stock browser along with dolphin opera and Firefox all a nogo has laggy video audio is great but picture very slow running 3.2 stock rom but these sites only run when in desktop mode tablet mode not an option any have a working apk version to install and see if we can get it working or some good setting for the browser
