Did you move the applications to the SD card? This happens to me, if the application was moved into SD card, it just disappear whenever I restart the phone.

No, no it's a problem or bug, is the way Move to SD works. Apps which have widgets can't be moved to SD

A little camera problem

Ok this is going to sound really stupid but hear me out I'm POSITIVE I didn't delete the videos off my phone.
So yesterday I was out with some friends just chilling and I took some pretty funny videos of some of my friends. To share them with my friends I decided I was gonna upload them to youtube, but I couldnt do it directly from my phone for some reason. So I decided to email both video files via gmail to myself then upload them later on the computer. I check a couple hours later and the message is still sending, because of the amount of memory both videos were I assume, so I decided to give up and just find them on the sd card then move them to my pc. So I delete the message that was sending with the attached files since I wasnt going to go about it that way anymore, but then I go back and look through my phone and notice I cant find the videos. By attaching them to my gmail did I move them off the SD card?
I don't know about your main problem but in order to send pics/videos your carriers mobile data must be on, it will not work if only WiFi is enabled.

Sorry I knew it was too confusing. The uploading wasn't the main problem, my main question is if by me attaching those video files to my email then deleting them while they were still in the sending process, did I basically just delete those files off my sd card too??
It shouldn't have deleted the videos, not sure how that could have happened.

I have a problem with the gallery app too!! Looking closely one of the random camera videos, it has a screenshot from a different video I did delete. How is this possible.. I may have deleted the two videos by accident because of this. Is there any sort of trashcan?

Have you tried using a program to locate the deleted files and "undelete" them?

You can "undelete" from SDCARD with 3rd party applications, I have done long time ago. But I am not sure you can do it since android writes/modifies sdcard too much.

Settings ->Sync -> you @ Gmail -> Clear check picasa...
I know you're asking about Picasa sync issues, I don't know if they are saved on your sdcard but this may help:
Drop a .nomedia file in a folder and all media files become invisible to the gallery..
A .nomedia file is just an empty text file saved with no name and the extension .nomedia
You can make the file yourself, or just copy one of the many that are already on your card and paste the copy in whatever folder you want hidden from the gallery.
There was a bug last year that caused previously indexed media to be deleted if they were subsequently hidden. I'm pretty certain it's been fixed but you might want to test on a file you don't mind losing before you wipe out your entire porn collection
edit: I'm running CM7rc0 and it appears the bug has been fixed. It's an old bug, I would guess late versions of 2.2 are fixed also. I just tried this on some junk files, rebooted and they are still on my card but not in my gallery

Where did my files go !?!?!?!

Ok so I just bought the evo shift from sprint and its been working great. I have over 500 songs and lots of pictures et cetera and I've been playing them all the time. This morning however I tried to play some music and it says music not found. Same thing with pics and vids. Apps saved on the card are fine. If I use astro and select a pic or mp3 it will open and play. Just not from any music players or photo viewers. Any ideas?
Edit: also a new development. I forgot to mention that I have clockwork mod recovery installed. And it won't let me turn my phone off. I power off and it automatically boots to recovery. Quite irritating.
Also I should probably mention that I am running my shift stock. No custom roms. Only thing I've done is root it using amoamares gui root method and the only root app I have is cache cleaner ng.
1. Not sure about your music.
2. That is a known issue with the recovery.
Ah I see I well I guess ill try getting rid of the recovery and go from there.

You might try copying them to your computer, making a new music folder on the sd card and moving them back.
Try moving your pics to the download folder and see if they show up.
What device are you coming from?

You don't have .nomedia files in those folders do you? Just throwing out possibilities.

After a little file snooping I discovered a .nomedia file on the root of my SD card ;p problem solved lol . Thanks for the help. Also in regards to my other problem - the forced recovery menu - anybody know if there is another safe recovery I can use?

stop music samples showing in google music

ok yeah so as title says im using a large amount of music samples for music creating apps on my nexus 7, now when i go to google music all the samples show up as tracks, ive moved the "samples" folder outside of "music" but still they show.
anyone know how i can set THAT folder of samples not to appear in google music?
Create a new blank file in the folder you want to be ignored by Google's media scanner named .nomedia I believe. I may have the exact name incorrect...

Either in a file explorer or with the device connected to the computer, navigate to the folder that contains the files you don't want it to see. Then create a blank file (with no file extension) and simply call it .nomedia

You rebooted, right? You might have to wipe the app's data also, because this only prevents it from finding it when it scans for new files. Or perhaps it just doesn't work with Play.
