I have a problem with speaker. I tried several ROMs but the problem stayed. The high tones are pitching and "screaming".
Can this be a modem related issue, and can it be fixed?
In addition the problem with pull down menu which wont go up still hangs
After installing one of the Nightly builds in portrait the pulldown menu dont seems to respond in the lower part of the screen.
When in Landscape, everything is fine.
After that I installed a couple of new ROMs but this bug was never fixed with new ROM.
Now on Clockworkmod and Zte_Blade Droid 2.3.4

My dad's G2 after the gingerbread upgrade started to act dumb, now the home/menu/back/search buttons dont work at all, I did factory reset, cache cleaning, erased sd card and nothing! I have been looking on google for solutions and nothing, but I have found some people having the same issue after update
same here
mine stoped responding
all four capacitive front buttons are dead
I'm having the same issue, except my phone was already rooted and running CM 7.0 without any issues to report. I have barely been using my G2 lately because I have an iPhone 4S as well for work, and it gets much more attention these days. I just noticed today that none of the aforementioned buttons work at all any more, even after reboots. Tried reinstalling, upgrading to CM 7.1, even tried MIUI's latest to see if it was some software glitch, still nothing. It just seems so weird given nothing else is wrong with the touch screen at all.
I've done some searching as well and haven't been able to find any solutions for this issue. Anyone have any updates? Is this simply a hardware issue?
mine was doing that with the tiamat kernel
hey for those that have this problem and are using cm7 try using zdunes patcher to get the tablet buttons
I flashed the stock ICS rom with CF root kernel the day they came out and everything went fine. However, there is something strange that happened to me twice so far. At random times and while the phone was locked (lockscreen) when I tried to unlock it and use it the screen goes crazy and it becomes blurry with numbers and lines and colors blending like crazy (reminds me of the matrix film with the numbers running down). This happened to me twice and only with the ICS rom and it goes away with a hard reset.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Hard reset?? on ICS?? if im not mistaken thats factory reset??
Switch Off

Switch Off CRT Animation, in custom rom it is built-in, no idea for stock though.
Yes. I've experienced this too. Just two times in about two weeks, nothing to worry about, though. Pressed the on/off button and the glitch went away. Seems to be a problem with the graphic driver. Or maybe just a Touchwiz launcher problem on ICS, don't really know.
I'm on a unrooted ICS (updated via Kies) Note.

Same thing happened to me once while browsing on the default browser and rotated screen from portrait to landscape : colored lines salad, not responding to middle button or touch buttons. After turning screen off then on everything was fine again.
Stock LPY rooted, flashed with Mobile Odin Pro.
Same happened to me. Default unrooted ICS, Kies-updated.
So it appears that this occurs whether someone has rooted their device or not. Hopefully Samsung will publish a stable ICS built to end this barrage of issues with the new Firmware experienced by many. It feels like we are Beta testers on this device.
I have tried several rom/kernel combinations on two Nexus 7's and noticed that while doing normal internet surfing or using basic applications that the screen will black out for second then come back on and resume where it was. I noticed some posts on this in the android development sections, yet no one seems to have a fix. Is this a software thing or a hardware thing?
I noticed this when I installed CM10 based PA, so I guess it's a ROM issue.
Its the surfaceflinger issue. They did something recently to it and im guessing dont realize its a bug.. but let me link you the fix it will work on any ROM.
surfaceflinger-fix.zip Flash in recovery and enjoy.
hello fellow xda-ers
I recently updated to the latest and stable CM10.1 (after using M2,M3, RC3 and RC5) and noticed that my home button stops working after a while. I'm not sure when it started but I think it was with the RC.
I did a search but it didn't yield anything particularly relevant. Is that a known problem?
I just reinstalled everything after resetting all data and it still happening.
thanks in advance for your input,
n
edit: before someone mentions it, I read this thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2340170 where the user indicates that re-flashing everything and restoring his apps using TB fixed the problem. That's exactly what I did but the problem persists unfortunately.
edit2: the problem seems to be limited to when the app drawer is opened. Home works fine with apps
same thing is happening to me. i was running cm since i bought the phone in February. Decided to flask Franco and now I'm getting this weird touch screen problems. The bottom row where the home button is located will become unresponsive. I decided to go into developer settings and enable "show touches". My phone is sometimes touches without my physical input.
Not sure if kernel related or if my touchscreen coincidentally has given out. I'm gonna try flashing stock kernel and see if that fixes things

I have the same problem on
Franco M3 and CM10.1 stable, just I'm not sure if it started when I flashed CM stable or Franco M3. Home button doesn't work with app draw open and also it doesn't swap from one homescreen to the default.
However if I got to settings>Launcher>Homescreen>Default screen and change it to another screen then back again the home button works properly but after a few days it stops again.
edit: its as if it just forgets what screen is supposed to be default
Last weekend for the second time flashed Quarx's CM 10.2 Nightly from CM 10-2ndboot. Here's my report:
1) Experienced the "unfortunately android keyboard has stopped" problem after updating. Didn't know how to solve it, so I had to flash SBF and still had this issue. After numerous times of reflashing finally got this problem gone. So I guess it's my flashing problem (?).
2) 720P Recording isn't working, although this is th default present for the camera app.
3) I wonder if anyone else noticed it: texts in the SMS app is thincker yet blur tha the previous roms (CM10 or earlier). Actually it's hard to read.
4) Also, the touch buttons' lightness is no longer auto-adjusted - either 100% light or off. Don't know if this is a univeral Jelly Bean issue or only occurs for Defy.
5) Last but not least: how can I disable the animation effects while switching the home screens?
Except from the above, all other functions worked fine. But in the end I flashed back to my previous choice - the stable CM10-2nd boot builds due to all those small but iritating issues.
Maybe they will all be solved in KitKat?

1. Usually this is a wrong gapps issue.
2. 720p rec might not be working due to green lens Defy.
3. No, it looks the same.
4. Yes, i've noticed this too, but it's not a major issue.
5. I think there is an option in Trebuchet settings/use a different launcher.

1) You need to install the correct gapps from TJKV (unfortunately i can't post links)
2) It's working for me (Defy+).
3) It's perfect in my Defy+, not blurry.
4) It's true, nothing to say.
5) Go to Settings>Developers option>Drawing and turn Animation off in this itens: Window animation scale, Transition animation scale and Animator duration sacel.
