I flashed the stock ICS rom with CF root kernel the day they came out and everything went fine. However, there is something strange that happened to me twice so far. At random times and while the phone was locked (lockscreen) when I tried to unlock it and use it the screen goes crazy and it becomes blurry with numbers and lines and colors blending like crazy (reminds me of the matrix film with the numbers running down). This happened to me twice and only with the ICS rom and it goes away with a hard reset.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Hard reset?? on ICS?? if im not mistaken thats factory reset??
Switch Off

Switch Off CRT Animation, in custom rom it is built-in, no idea for stock though.
Yes. I've experienced this too. Just two times in about two weeks, nothing to worry about, though. Pressed the on/off button and the glitch went away. Seems to be a problem with the graphic driver. Or maybe just a Touchwiz launcher problem on ICS, don't really know.
I'm on a unrooted ICS (updated via Kies) Note.
G
Same thing happened to me once while browsing on the default browser and rotated screen from portrait to landscape : colored lines salad, not responding to middle button or touch buttons. After turning screen off then on everything was fine again.
Stock LPY rooted, flashed with Mobile Odin Pro.
Same happened to me. Default unrooted ICS, Kies-updated.
So it appears that this occurs whether someone has rooted their device or not. Hopefully Samsung will publish a stable ICS built to end this barrage of issues with the new Firmware experienced by many. It feels like we are Beta testers on this device.

My dad's G2 after the gingerbread upgrade started to act dumb, now the home/menu/back/search buttons dont work at all, I did factory reset, cache cleaning, erased sd card and nothing! I have been looking on google for solutions and nothing, but I have found some people having the same issue after update
same here
mine stoped responding
all four capacitive front buttons are dead
I'm having the same issue, except my phone was already rooted and running CM 7.0 without any issues to report. I have barely been using my G2 lately because I have an iPhone 4S as well for work, and it gets much more attention these days. I just noticed today that none of the aforementioned buttons work at all any more, even after reboots. Tried reinstalling, upgrading to CM 7.1, even tried MIUI's latest to see if it was some software glitch, still nothing. It just seems so weird given nothing else is wrong with the touch screen at all.
I've done some searching as well and haven't been able to find any solutions for this issue. Anyone have any updates? Is this simply a hardware issue?
mine was doing that with the tiamat kernel
hey for those that have this problem and are using cm7 try using zdunes patcher to get the tablet buttons
Anyone else had any graphic glitching?
i was using inparisv4 i have been getting the odd little graphical glitch,
At first its just a small; a flash here and there, but recently the entire screen has be glitching for about 30 seconds at a time (Full on like a no signal telly)
Searched in the forum, and a few people had the prob when flashing the touchwiz interface. they solved it by flashing to samsung ota and then back again.
I tried that i thought it was fixed but a noticed small glitches just once.
Anybody know whats causing it?
I am really freaked
Screen Glitching
I had a new "re-furbed" tab that within the first 30min of use exhibited this. Then the screen went dark and it never booted again. I believe that this is hardware related, and from what I could tell from my research, it happens on stock as well as rooted tabs. I sent mine back to get another "new" one, and hope that I do not have this problem again as the tab is exactly what I was looking for.
Hello
I have been having some problems with the main camera on the A500. It has different tints to it. Sometimes the picture seems to be divided in 4 and all 4 squares have a different hue to them. Restoring to factory settings seem to take care of it for a while. Initially I thought it was "skype" that messed it up, but it is not.
I just restarted the tablet and the camera is giving me a yellow tint, with a clear horizontal stripe about 3/4 inch wide through the middle.
The tab has stock 3.2 on it.
I was wondering if anyone has experienced similar problems and if there was a solution to the problem.
Thank you
Well, I would think the problem seems to be some app/apps you have installed. Based on when you do a factory reset, it goes away.
I would just do another factory reset. Then verify it went away. Run it for a couple of days WITHOUT installing any apps. This will probably rule out a hardware issue.
Then install apps, 1 at a time. Use the camera, and look for issues.
Thanx. I will give that a try.
I traced it back to Swift Key X keyboard for tablets. How is that even possible?
Also yahoo messenger is another one that ruins the camera. As soon as I install any of those apps and reboot, the camera is back to normal.
Does anyone out there use either of those apps?

So, everything is ok?
Rule #1,
Stay away from apps meant for phones.
Yes, they "may" have tested it it on "1" tablet, then gave it a clean bill of health. Maybe.

I thought it would be ok. But after restarting a few times, the camera colors are off. I'm going to root and install a custom 3.2 to make sure it is not the hardware.
Spasiba for all your help )
any news about this problems.
it seems that my iconia has the same problem- i never noticed it because i dont use the rear camera.
i sold it it today and the guy who bought has described something like what you folks are talking about
the strange thing is that i had done a clean boot before i sold it, and the buyer hasnt installed anything on it yet.
im waiting to hear back from him after he tries another clean boot.
anyone else have any ideas ?
I'm having the same problem. I don't use it much, but the camera was ok before. When I tried using it this weekend, it showed colored translucent squares on the sides. It is not a config problem, as there are no effects turned on. The front camera works 100%. I will post a sample when I get home.
If I change the "whites" config to Incandescent, it kind of solves the problem. Sometimes, the squares appear, but not for most the time.
I believe this is not a harware issue, unless that whites configuration is made with hardware (highly doubt it). I don't have Swift key, or Yahoo messenger, or any other apps that use the camera (other than Skype, but it was already installed when the camera worked).
Did anybody find a fix to this? It seems it is only a problem on stock 3.2.
Edit: not an exclusive 3.2 stock issue, it appears that custom roms have this problem as well.
I have the same issue after ICS ota upgrade...
Any ideas?
I haven't had the issue since the ICS upgrade. Only tested once or twice, but it is working properly.
What I did to partially fix it was changing the White Balance to "Incandescent".
So my A500 had a problem with random keys registering. If on the home screen, apps in a certain region would launch randomly (using the stock launcher). If in apps, keys in a similar area would register on their own, initiating whatever the corresponding actions were. If watching a video, the screen would randomly resize during playback.
After having the system lock-up and needing to reload a stock HC 3.01 ROM, the key-presses stopped. After loading a rooted HC 3.21 again (which isn't the same root I had initially), I noticed the random keypresses started again. I'm now running stock again and no random keypresses for at least an hour. Played several videos while I searched for something similar on the boards.
So 2 different rooting processes produce random keypresses, and rolling back to stock twice gets rid of it. Has anyone seen this before? I'm considering re-rooting all the way up to ICS or JB, but I'd like to know if I should expect that behavior again.
Can you tell us what recovery you are running?

Can you tell us the recovery you are running? Personally I never had the issue but maybe someone can figure out what is going on if you tell us which recovery/rom is doing it.
The first time my recovery was jacked up and unusable, i guess i had the half-root but no unlocked bootloader so nothing would install. The second time was CWM as installed by Acer Recovery tool. It was the later version of CWM, don't remember the exact number. The initial half-root was months ago
If it helps, i used the rooted EUU the second time i rooted which started with TWRP and was updated to CWM after the fact. Being stock again, its on the stock recovery. I can look up the EUU filename once I get home tonight; it's on my home computer.
EDIT: Poked around a little cause I knew I got the 2nd root EUU here on XDA, here's the link for the process I followed over this past weekend:

I've encountered the same issue, but I also replaced my touch screen so I attributed it to something I did. It is extremely annoying. I've not tried to reset back to stock is or another rom. Maybe it's work a shot. I'm using the v8 unlocked bootloader and thors latest cwm.
Over the last few days I've had problems with extreme lag on my I9505, and several cases where the screen is completely unresponsive. Pressing the hard buttons (power/home) generally gets a response, but tapping on the screen doesn't. Only a cold reboot fixes it. What's the best way of diagnosing this?
I'm running Phoenix ROM v7.3 (which is based on stock Android 4.3).
