Hi peeps,
I've been wondering why the lack of posts [i know there has been an older iplayer thread] for the 'now working' BBCi Player on the Xperia?
Anyway, the BBCi Player now works in Opera flawlessly over Wifi with default browser settings.
Try it.
this has already been discussed in detail
that must make you very angry, my apologese
It doesn't work on my Opera, which is the default installation. Streaming Media is still launched instead of the video playing in the browser.

Same here, the quality is really ****, it opens streaming media and the video is very low res in a tiny box in the middle of the screen. Any ideas?

Mine doesn't even do that. Streaming Media fails to connect to anything.
Mine opens up streaming media which works over O2's gprs (which breaks their T&Cs and blows the unlimited (200mb ) download limit, but won't connect over wifi.
All I get is "server or data time out; tap play to reconnect".
I've using jack's ROM, has anyone got any other experience using other ROMs?
ITV Player
Has anyone tried the ITV player yet, its like copy of BBCiplayer, but the clips you download not stream and some you have to pay for.
I only got this working today, I'd managed to uninstall the default Opera and the Beta is not supported by iplayer.
The video isn't great, but it works and is watchable. As it's not officially supported yet, I'm hoping the quality will improve soon.
I suprised at the lack of interest too though!
The X1 is semi-supported. They announced it in the blogs, but not on the actual site.
The quality of the files is pretty poor, but then I've had my phone buffer up a few times when watching a few shows, so thats only going to get worse when they up the quality.
@Mark, I'm sure the ITV version uses Silverlight, WM11 and DRM (unless you are on about a special mobile version) which didn't work last time I tried, but then there is nothing on ITV that I would want to watch.
compared my x1 against the iphone using iplayer, watched top gear on both and the iphone blew my x1 out if the weeds! why? is the file the same on both as the quality on the iphone very very good and very smooth.
The files are completly different between the iPhone/iTouch and the X1/N96
iPhone: H.264 483 x 272 400 kbps
X1: H.264 320 x 176 128 kbps
Unfortunatly the iPhone version only works (streamed) on the iPhone, due to a small bug which the beeb spotted and exploited.
What was this bug?
Have a read of this: http://beebhack.wikia.com/wiki/IPhone_H.264_version
bbciplayer is not even worth watching at that quality on the x1, i think its time for me to swap my x1 for an iphone, iphone seems to get much better software support.
Been wasting another day testing the iPlayer stuff.
Ideally I would love to get the iPhone version streamed into CorePlayer, but I'm still no closer.
However some test results:
X1 streamed version - plays in HTC Streamed Media - 320 x 176 128 kbps, very poor quality. Fine for spoken word programmes, any action is a big no no.
Portable Download - plays in Windows Media Player - 320 x 176 475 kbps, quality is better, but res is still small. Also requires a DRM license to be downloaded to the phone. File itself can only be downloaded from the PC as the iPlayer site keeps redirecting me to the mobile version.
MP4 iPlayer Downloader - plays in CorePlayer - 483 x 272 400 kbps, quality is the best available. At present this must be downloaded on the PC first. Have tried getting the Ruby files to run on the mobile but with no luck. Should be possible for someone to port this into a WM app to download the file straight to the phone, however even on my PC a 10 mins Doctor Who Confidential took 2.5 minutes, so expect times of at least 10 minutes for a normal 30 min show if straight to mobile.
Can anyone get 5 live as one of the radio stations on Xperia?
I get all the other stations but not the one I want - 5 live.
Please help..
There is a chance it won't work whilst the Football is on due to licensing issues, although they normally play a message instead of stopping the stream from working.

The only is it worked on my Diamond only a week ago. I just brought the xperia and it doesn't work on it.
Thanks for replying!
Just loaded the iPlayer page, both Five Live and Five Live Extra are missing due to the football. I have the streams bookmarked in CorePlayer and they announce that they can't broadcast the current show.
Will be the same on all phones and even your PC.

Can't help you exactly on what you are looking for but maybe you should give a try to:
- Neon player (check H&D section). The player is really good, and very well optimized.
- S2P by A_C (also check H&D section). It's a spin-off of itouch player.
Take a look at this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=523505
unfortenally it doesn't support wma
I've just gotten the Xperia Play 4G, am able to remote play media with my ps3, but I'm unable to register my phone to my ps3 to get full remote play capabilities, I like the phone and if im looking for ways to make this possible

Things needed:
1. An android phone having a Micro-HDMI or MHL capability. ( I used my old Sony ericsson Xperia Neo V for this)
2. (Optional) Older androids don't have much RAM to receive casts and play them without much stutter. So i would suggest you to remove most bloatwares including Google Apps (Google play services sucks a lot of RAM so i had to do this)
3. Install this application from playstore [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cloudsiva.kx.cast&hl=en]
(Disclaimer: I have not linked this application for any commercial purpose or any other intention to compromise your devices. I suggest this application because it doesn't display any ads and it just works as i wished)
4. Connect your android phone to your Home Wi-Fi and plug your phone to your TV with the Micro-HDMI or MHL cable. You can also plug the usb cable to your phone and TV so it gets charged while you use the device
5. Since this app uses DLNA you need a few more steps for casting videos. Install this app from the playstore to your other phone (not the one connected to the TV) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aesoftware.tubio&hl=en. So that you can select the android as TV from the menu. It is normally displayed as KXcast(your phone model, MT11i in my case)
6. So as we had done every steps, now go to Youtube app in your phone (not the one connected to the TV) and click on share button above the video select Tubio app. Select your old android phone as TV and click play. It will show connecting to service please wait for a few seconds and then would play in your TV through your old Android device
Phone Model Used:
Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V
Accessories Needed:
Two android phones - One to receive (Plugged to the TV) and other to send, Micro-HDMI to HDMI or MHL cable, USB Cable (Optional)
Apps tested:
Youtube, Youtube gaming
Local videos:
Nero streaming player (Select the videos you want and play to the DLNA/Airplay enabled device you don't need Tubio for this. I have used Tubio only to play from youtube or other apps)
Please note: This is my first thread in XDA. Do inform me if i have violated any norms. All apps suggested above are not for any commercial purpose. The copyrights are owned by respective developers and i have not posted them for any commercial reason. The apps are suggested because they have less ads and are easy to use (Tubio has ads and HD is available only in Premium version). Post your doubts or suggestions
Credits:
XDA for helping me to learn things outside my primary interest
Sony Ericsson for creating this wonderful phone which is serving me for nearly 5 years
Respected Application developers of above suggested apps.
You can also use the app KXcast to receive Videos or Music from your Windows 10 Device. Click cast to device and select KXcast (Phone Model option) to play media files. Media playback depends upon the processing power of the receiving device. My phone is powered by a single core processor. So the Maximum resolution to restricted to 1280x720 and also only supported Media formats will play.

Wow... No one even decided to say that they've used up all the codes (-_-)...
Anyways, I tried your free version on my Nexus 5 and it works pretty well! It does drain the battery a lot more than I thought it would though.
Anything with a 3d environment background is a drain on the phone battery (overheats it too)
I personally use vr players with no background or 3d surroundings. All you need is the video screen.
Hello sir,Expried codes..please share new...
Did you make this with Unity3d?
If so, could you add this https://github.com/m-tukiok/UnityPluginDisplay4k to it, please? Even if you have to make it into a different version of the app.
I'm willing to pay for the pro version and make a donation if you do!
I'd love to have a native 4k VR player for my XZp that doesn't require messing with adb.
VU showing video that is mismatched positionally on right and left eye
hey fam.i am using a tecno camon cx air and i am having an issue in that the video on the right is not exactly the same in positioning/mismatch as the video on the other eye causing some blur and uncomfy viewing experience.what can i do?i am using VU pro latest versionconfused:
check out my twitter @Kay_e_veemusic i will show you a screenshot of my screen, i can't post a link here since i am new..will appreciate your help
It's a shame the codes are expired this deserves five stars for sure! I have a couple of feature requests:
Please add the ability to play network videos! It is essential that I can launch videos to VU Cinema from a file manager (total commander in this case) the same as any other video player. It would also be nice to be able to browse network videos from within the app.
Bluetooth controls need to be refined. Please add the ability to either map the controller or add basic seek and volume controls to the D pad. Sometimes it is easier to tap forward a couple times to relocate my place in a movie than try to navigate the very inaccurate seat bar. The only app I have seen tackle VR controls well (and I've tried them all) is VR Theater by coach games. If you were to merge the graphics from VR Cinema with similar gamepad controls to VR theater it would be the perfect app!!!
Please continue development it's really great! ?
[Just purchased, well worth it]
On one plus 5, After the update 5.0.4 it has stopped working.video screen is blank while pictures can be seen.kindly help on it.
