So i just wiped my phone again. Used bootstrapper to wipe(factory reset) & deleted all the cache as well..
But i previously had liberty 1.5 ROM installed. & Whenever i turn on my phone it still says liberty after i wiped it. & i tried flashing it back to stock & it says fail.
Any way to fix this?
If you can get back into clockwork...
Use maderstock

Or SBF.

Use this...or search Sbf tutorials for the droid x there are like 203948023498 tutorials.

Is there anyway to reboot recovery on the GingerAle ROM? Just installed it on a friends DX and she isnt a fan so I wanted to revert her back to liberty. Any thoughts on how I can do this would help Bootstrapper isnt letting me reboot to recovery and when i try to manually reboot recovery pushing the search button does nothing once im on the android with ! screen. any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Are you trying DX or D2 Bootstrapper? Most Ginger builds require D2.
Using the DX bootstrap. I wanted to ask for any other thoughts before trying the D2 one. Will give it a shot today and report back
So d2 bootstrap allowed me to get back into recovery but after flashing liberty 1.5 it hangs on the liberty bootscreen. Anyone able to give me any help on this problem? Doing this for a friend and realizing why I will NEVER buy a locked down phone.
You can't go from a GB rom to a Froyo rom, you'll need to SBF back to 2.3.340, then go to LB 1.5. However, if you didn't, you can try wiping data/cache again, but I'm fairly certain a SBF is required to go back from GB.
I just did this. Cause I was trying to go back to Liberty to recover some of my data via Titanium. Was coming from gingerale too
SBF Back to absolute stock.
Itll probably bootloop. Pull battery and hold home and turn on. Then do a data reset and cache wipe.
After that reboot into stock droid x rom. Then download bootstrap
Then you can bootstrap back to liberty.
If you have questions hit me up. My phone literally just finished doing this. I thought i was screwed cause it was boot looping. But i'm good now.

The problem is that you flashed a froyo rom after coming from a gb rom and you probably didn't sbf. If you want to go gb to froyo, you MUST sbf back to stock froyo first. If you're not sure how to do this, there are tons of "how to" threads on here.

Thanks a lot guys. I figures an sbf would be required. I flashed gingerale 2.0 and she seems happy with it. Gonna investigate this sbf more. Coming from HTC and Samsung phones Motorola is a whole new world lol.
The SBF process is easy dude. At first glance it seems really complicated but there's really nothing to it. There's even youtube videos if you feel a little uneasy.
Hi all, yes, I'm a noob..
Trying to help a friend that screwed up his phone.. DX, had Froyo 2.2.1. and 2.3.340, was rooted with z4root, Koush Bootstrap, and Liberty 1.5. Did a wiped cache, factory reset, removed Bootstrap, and unrooted. Now the phone just boot loops with the Liberty logo (apparently forgot to change it back first) and Droid eye. I can go into the stock system recovery, wipe cache and wipe data/factory set, which I have done several times however it still boot loops and my pc still does not see the device, nor does RSDlite v4.8 with motohelper 2.0.49 driver 5.0.0, followed the sbf guide by maderschramm but still no luck seeing my handset. When I put an update.zip file on the sdcard and try to apply it I get E:signature verification failed Installation aborted. My eyes are strained from reading so many forums and trying to figure this out on my own to no avail, would appreciate any feedback.
Use the linux sbf tool here, its always worked for me

STAYFROSTY777 THANK YOU!!!!!! I was hesitant to try it since I couldn't get my pc to recognize the device but the Linux method worked!!!!!!!! Detected the DX right away and went to work! Wiped data, wiped cache, and rebooted to a brand new DX!!! Thanks again!

So, I flashed CM7 to my droid 2 following the instructions in the Cyanogenmod Wiki. When I rebooted my phone it got stuck on the Motorola "M" logo and won't do anything. I tried holding X and the power button to boot into recovery and it goes to the android guy with the ! in the triangle but then I can't get it to do anything after that. Hitting the search button on the keyboard does nothing. How do I fix this?
This happened to me after trying to install miui roms. My only option was to do a sbf factory restore using rsdlite. I found a video tutorial on youtube. Just do a youtube search for droid2 factory sbf restore you should find it easily. Your gonna need 3 seperate files all available from the website in the video links.

Nuts. I was afraid it was going to be something like that. I will see if I can find the video on youtube. Thanks for your help!
Stock recovery doesnt seem to work on Gingerbread, which is definitely not a good thing.
Before I got into the whole SBF restore using RSD Lite I did finally find a way to get into recovery. After holding the X and Power buttons to get to the little android guy I then discovered on another forum that you could hit both volume buttons as the same time and that finally did get me into recovery. Unfortunately, that did not do me any good. I tried wiping data and cache again and rebooting but didn't help. I then tried re-installing CM7 from there but it keeps aborting the install. I can't find my backup either although I have a feeling it would just abort like the CM7 install did. It appears to be the stock recovery as opposed to Bootstrap recovery. So, it looks like I am back to trying the SBF thing with RSD Lite. I will update this evening when I have a chance to try it.
Once you have all the files restoring with rsd lite takes literally no more than 15 minute. Its a pretty simple process. Go to this website droid2hacks.com and look for the unroot unbrick tutorial. It worked for me no problem and has links to all the correct files you will need.
Thanks so much guys for your help. I was able to SBF back to Froyo and then used this guide (http://www.droidforums.net/forum/cy...rbread-rom-cm4d2-gb-now-ready-prime-time.html) to get CM7 installed. Everything seems to be working now! Droid 2 is definitely not the easiest phone to get a ROM installed on, but at least it's pretty easy to SBF and try again.
I am in need of some help with my Droid 2 that I rooted and flashed. Everything was going smoothly up until I flashed the rom and now i am stuck at the Motorola M and in a boot loop. I have pulled the battery and tried to re-install and still nothing. I re-installed to sbf and tried the whole process over multiple times and still nothing. I have watched many how to videos even though this is my 4th time rooting a phone i know they are all different, and i seem to be doing all the right steps and no matter what i do im stuck at the Motorla Logo. Please help!
What are you flashing it from? Froyo? GB?
Sent from my DROID2 using xda premium
I've tried both medthods...Froyo originally. So I tried OTA to GB and then flash it...that didnt work either. What is the last sbf for the droid 2 anyway?
You should be on OTA GB when flashing it.
Check your MD5, lots of people seem to be having problems getting it to match.
Look at my thread on the Droid 2 Global section.. do steps 9-11 only.

If you're flashing Liberty you can try using Rom Manager. Otherwise after you install GB and root, install Bootstrapper, run it's installation tab then recovery. Once in recovery wipe cache, wipe data, then select zip from sd and install.
Make sure you have the proper version of Liberty for your phone.
Hi, I am also having the same issue
I had Liberty 2.0 v2.0.1 and wiped data and installed from SD, stuck at splash screen
I pulled the battery and tried 2 more times, still same issue
Then I wiped the cached, wiped data and installed from SD and I'm still stuck at the splash screen, any help is greatly appreciated!
1) Try wiping davlik cache as well
2) Make sure you have the version of Liberty designed for your handset. It shouldn't flash anyway if it's the wrong one, but anything is possible.
Are you guys using Rom Manager or Bootstrapper by the way? Just wondering.
Also, if you're coming from a Rom already on there and you mess up you can use Clockwork to restore your last saved system image.
I got this phone from eBay as "stuck in M" and thought I might give it a try to SBF it back to stock. So I tried SBFing to 4.5.605 and it works great but after the first reboot, it boots straight to stock recovery.
I read some threads online and some mention to wipe data/cache. I do that and reboot and it still keeps going back to recovery no matter what. I have complete access to the phone with RSD Lite but I cannot get it to boot to the OS. It just keeps booting back to stock recovery.
I would really appreciate some help here. It would be great if I can get this phone working again. Am I doing something wrong? Something specific about the Droid X I'm not aware of?

sounds like its bricked it is possible that your sbf file is slightly corrupted or its the wrong one altogether try redownloading the sbf file or try .602 sbf dont reboot it if you can help it root it and put a different rom on it may just solve your trouble the linux method of sbf is more sound look into that instead of rsdlite if you have to use rsdlite make sure its is the newest leaked version of the program. Always make sure the program completes to the end and it says passed. pull the battery afterwards and do a factory restore hard reset should be good to go
