Having problems trying to install Liberty gb - Droid X General

I sbf from ota gb to froyo and installed Liberty 2.0.1. I found out when I got home that they made a newer Liberty for GB. So I downloaded the file v.8, and have the 2 gb leak files Blur_Version.2.3.340.MB810.Verizon.en.Us-Part1 and part 2. When I go into bootstrap recovery with the droid 2 bootstrapper, then try to install the .zip file for the first file, it gives me this error...
assert failed: apply-patch-check("system/app/AccountAndSyncSettings.apk", "504e6ba37cdafbfa0c4e4abcc33c85823feb49b2", "e4460022c15f112cdfeed63856bcc24632fcfbe5")
E: Error in /sdcard/Blur_Version.2.3.340.MB810.Verizon.en.Us-Part1.zip
(status 7)
Installation aborted
Anyone know wtf this means?! I did a system wipe, but that didn't help. If I exit out of bootstrap recovery, it will let me restart my phone fine. It gives me this error before anything else. I was able to install this version of GB last night just fine...
Thanks!!!

I thought about that, but I installed it night before last just fine until I realized I needed froyo to be able to install 2.0.1. I wish I would have known before that there was a Liberty GB.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1126554

Thank you. I'll try that gb file and see if I have any luck. I do have to say that this Froyo version of Liberty is pretty damn amazing! I wish I would have tried it 6 months ago when I got this phone. It's so much faster than stock!

Unless you are determined to jump the LGB bandwaggon, I would stay on 2.0.1, its still faster and smoother than gingerbread. I would hold out till 1.0 comes out
Just MHO

Thanks. I guess I'll do that. I really love 2.0.1. It's super smooth and fast. It's really sad that to get a DX that works great, you have to break the rules and root it. A stock DX is slow and sluggish and full of bugs, even with GB. Without all of the bloatware, it runs like a dream!

Ya, Liberty really set the bar high with 2.0.1
The features in LGB are amazing, but its still lacks in total smoothness and stable speed. my launcher has to reload all the time but its still amazing, and im hoping the smoothness in 2.0.1 shows with LGB 1
And the rom themes in 2.0.1 are really nice! whereas LGB is still lacking in that department.
Soon enough though its going to blow 2.0.1 out of the water!

Ok Ive been Searching and trying to see videos on what is the best Rom to Use I want a fast phone stable. with not so many issues .. .. be able to use Tethering is important then camera usb charge with computer also e mails , so whats the best to use ?? is there any list or poll where i can see how roms rate ?? thanks ??
I had the same question for a few days. Digging around here and other forums, I decided
to go with Rubix. It's very performance based. Haven't had any problem with it. I
installed 1.8.9 about 20 days ago and updated to 1.9.0 on Sunday. No complaints.
that sounds good es rubix blurless .. and where did you get the intructions to intall it ..

I prefer Team Black Hats TranQuility 3.6 Rom. It allows you to add whatever blur features you want straight from the TranQ toolbox. Very fast and very stable.

I just got my droid x and have the latest update 2.2.1 Installed... I love blur but hate the bloated ware that's installed.... what's the best blur rom out? And what is blur 3.0 im hearing about

Stay Stock ROM. Root, overclock to about 1200. Enjoy a superfast phone that everything works on, nice and smooth, no chokes, no worries.
Can u point me to a stock rooted rom please....
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Just use z4root to root your phone yourself. You don't need to install a pre-rooted rom.
I was the same way, I liked some of the Blur apps (without the sms I dont think you can resize video and send an mms, I like the shortcut contact icons) so I run Apex which is great. Runs smooth and fast. you can reinstall any of the removed blur apps by just running the apk in the removed apps zip file he has or by using the terminal emulator which is not the difficult to use once you read how to, so def try apex's rom (1.3.1)
http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/d...x-1-3-0-droid-x-running-running-fast-can.html
On an aside...I tried overclocking and personally (after I clocked to 1.2 or something my phone went into constant reboots and was a PITA to somehow drop it down to 1ghz before it would freeze and reboot, but i didnt notice a huge difference while at 1.1) id just try the roms first...

to clear this up...rooting is a process that allows you to do "things" like install other roms and run some programs...same a sunblood...z4root is the one i use. Then you can try another rom and whatnot
I think he means just root & overclock if you like the blur. You can remove the boat easily after you root ( be sure to make a back up before you start modifying in case something goes wrong or you need to get back stock for an update). You can use Root explorer to rename the apps you don't want or titanium backup to freeze or delete them ( after you make a backup). Rubix blurry is a great custom rom, tranquility lets you add what blur you want back in.

Blur 3.0 is for the D2 (Droid 2) only right now. And I believe it's only a 2.2 ROM and not a 2.2.1 like our DX's. An updated Blur *might* land on the DX but since the D2 Blur update is on an older kernel, they would have to rework it for our device with a newer kernel...more time/effort/money possibly.

Liberty 2.0 is now Released

It is available through the donate version of Liberty Toolbox on the market! Support your ROM developers, it's only $5. I am installing it now. I will report back with all the awesomeness that has been having people froth at the mouth lol. Nom nom nom
Liberty 2.0 will be released for the masses in a couple days on the forums. They are calling this some what of a beta stage. Either way, I don't think they would release something that would need to be tested for a beta stage for $5 LOL.
Remember, you have to SBF if you are on the Gingerbread leak. If you are not on the Gingerbread leak or any Gingerbread ROM, a simple whipe data/cache will work. This has been confirmed by the developers themselves.
Edit:
My Quadrant score is 1388 on clean installed Liberty 2.0 running 1.0Ghz. Overclocked to 1.2Ghz, which is what I normally run, it's 1629. AT 1.3Ghz, I get 1724.
Edit #2: Liberty 2.0.1 has been released and you can download 2.0 for free on droidforums. Also, in the Liberty Toolbox (donate version) Liberty Gingerbread is available for download!
So is 2.0 gingerbread or still froyo?
It is froyo
Has anyone else installed this yet? I want some others to wiegh in before I give my opinions about the ROM.
Yea, My first impression is that it's a lot like 1.5, in fact at a glance you can't tell the difference. I'm at work and have not got to play with it a lot yet though.

You will need to SBF back to Froyo 2.3.340 yes.
I am not yet impressed with 2.0. I mean, yes it's snappy and quick but I don't see what the hype was all about. It is stripped down and apps open quickly but, there isn't a whole lot of change from 1.5
I think this is the best it will get. Unless you theme 2.0 or any other Liberty version, it's plain as plain can be. If your looking for speed and willing to do a lot of the work your self as far as theming and improving the ui look, I was kinda of let down by 2.0. Everyone praises how great it is...am I missing something here, lol?
I liked 1.5, but it had a couple bugs. I am hoping those bugs will be gone completely in 2.0. I was also hoping 2.0 would bring something new and cool to the table, but I really don't see it. I tried a couple other roms, and I thought liberty was faster than any of the others I tried. To early to tell if the bugs are fixed in 2.0.
I am getting a force close when I try to open liberty settings in 2.0. Other than that no real negatives yet.
For anyone looking I just found the settings force close fix on twitter.
Force close in liberty settings fix: download toolbox > access liberty settings by pressing menu> settings in the toolbox.

Let me retract my previous statements lol. Battery life is amaaaazing so far! I themed 2.0 and man-o-man....2.0 is running quite fast! There isn't a single issue for me. I installed the two Liberty Tool Boxes from the Market and that stopped the FCs when opening the Liberty settings. Other then that, holly molly is alls I have to say!
This is now a true 5 star ROM, all the way! Loading this to me gf's DX!! Locked bootloaders are a thing of the past once you really get this ROM going.
This doesnt seem better than rubix? seems like it comes with more crap I dont need.

It's easy to remove the bloat from Liberty. Take the time to read the OP before you look a gift horse in the mouth. Jerk.

Were you running Froyo or Gingerbread? Did you wipe data/Cache before or after installing installing Liberty 2.0?
I used the wipe data/cache in the install que in the new Liberty Toolbox.

[Q] Liberty 2.0.1 to GB or not to GB ; )

Hello all,
My first post here, I'm checking out friend's phones that have GB running and really like the way things look and feel. Also seems to have more options or functionality over 2.2... I was wondering what the most efficient way to go from Liberty 2.0.1 over to GB would be? I really haven't wanted to change form 2.0.1 since i've had it basically the speed and function is nice as is... Is there a good reason to go to GB from Liberty and and how? Appreciate the help!
Cheers
I say GB.
I believe that you can get a GB Liberty ROM from the donate Liberty Toolbox.
Sorry I can't help you out any further.

Well, I say you do yourself a favor and upgrade to rooted GB! If you like Liberty so much, you can buy the Liberty Toolbox and get the GB Liberty ROM (and support the dev at the same time), that way you can have both. The Liberty ROM is being updated regularly because technically it's not out of "nightly" status yet, but it is VERY stable and works great. The cleanest way in my opinion to get from where you are to rooted official GB, is to SBF back to stock froyo, and then use the 2 part GB install (I'll link instructions to both). Here's how to sbf http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0jrXqqiepI. After you do that, follow these instructions using the files located here (use method two which is listed after the line that says "Patched update.zip (not signed)" in bold) http://www.mydroidworld.com/forums/...-5-596-release-thread-something-everyone.html. Once you are done with these steps, you can get the Liberty Toolbox and open it. Hit the "ROM Manager" tab, then "Nightlies" tab, and click on the latest Liberty Gingerbread rom (currently v0.8) and it will guide you from there. Enjoy!
Thanks!
@rruready, @Lofi Goosh-
Really appreciate the info! Super awesome I am gonna try doing it now- Thank you for the messages, hope your days are great and have a good weekend!
I'll post my results here when I get things set up-
Cheers!

If your looking to get a lot of different options, go to cyanogenmod. The only thing not working on it is the camera and gps, but it is way worth it. just look up a video on youtube of cyanogenmod 7
CM7 is what I'm running and there are definitely more bugs than just the camera (which has a workaround) and the GPS (which there is a fix for); however, I'm still using it because even with all the issues, it's still rocking my world.
CM7 for the Droid X (CM4DX) can be found here:
http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php?389-ROM-BETA-CyanogenMod-7-for-the-Droid-X
@ Maltmix, you may just want to try both Liberty GB and CM4DX as it really all depends on user preference.
Thanks for the great links and advise everyone! I was able to find an alternative to RDSLite for you. The instructions indicate easy use... the definite plus side is that you can burn these ISO's or put them on a flash drive to SBF from any machine.

Gingerbread Camera
I have Rooted Gingerbread on my X now, went to the Liberty 0.8GB Nightly, and all was well.. I was prompted to update or modify if i wanted via Liberty, and did that, but upon recommended reboot, i got stuck in a bootloop..
Lots of time and patience later, somehow finally got into recovery and re-flashed GB..
Everything is back on my phone, but the stock camera isn't the updated one that froyo and GB have, it's somehow reverted to the earlier not so good camera..
I was wondering if there is a way to update the camera to the most current google camera?
Thank you guys and gals so much for the assistance, I hope to be able to help other people someday too!
Thanks LG! I should try cm7dx, too really like it then?

Help on g-lite!

Ok I just flashed glite last night and everything is working fine except swype...I reinstalled swype off a backup and when I try to use the keyboard it instantly force closes. I even tried a different apk. Any ideas? I'm lost I like glite but if I can't get swype working ill probably go back to ota gb rooted. Also how the hell to I access the oc deamon on glite?
Have you tried fixing permissions? Also, the OC Daemon can be accessed through the Virtuous OC apk. It's somewhere in the forums >.<
Ok ill look for it. And yea I tried fixing permission, but that ran literally all night I canceled it when I woke up 8 hours later cuz I think it was just looping.

so I tried getting the beta from swype but the installer just gives me a parsing error. This is really frustrating. Anyways priority number one is swype, if I can't get that working I'm flashing my nandroid backup. All I really wanted was OC and possibly better battery life. Oh well any help?

Have not personally used G-Lite but Ive heard good things about it, Is it only with G-Lite that your battery runs hot? Sounds to me there is a problem with your phone/battery and that is causing the freezing,G-Lite is not overclocked by default so how did you get the OC deamon installed?I would try reflashing G-Lite and leave the OC out of it and see if that helps
Actually i did try that, and from my understanding it comes overclocked already to 1 ghz fresh from flashing. In either case i tried turning it up and down with setcpu, leaving the oc out, and pretty much everything i can think of to no avail. Anyways i re flashed my backup so I'm good right now but I also heard great things, but oh well guess it just didn't work out for me. Plus getting swype to work was impossible! lol i tried several different methods and had no luck so I just gave up I really wanted overclock, but I dont want to compromise swype or the reliability of the stock rom I'm running right now.
maybe when a 1.0.4 comes out? Hows xboarder mod compared to the stock ota pre-rooted?
You can try meXdroidRom! Its really fast and butter smooth, and you can choose to have the stock Android theme installed if you want.
Also comes with Swype built in too!
Sent from my HTC Desire Z using XDA App
Sign up to get the beta at http://beta.swype.com the old installers will give you the parsing error, or try it while connected to a more reliable connection like wifi.
You will need to uninstall swype that you currently have on the device, but it will work fine.
I will install the gamut of ROM's every once in awhile, but glite keeps pulling me back because of the battery life.
I did try the website and it was a nogo used wifi too and tried like 5 times oh well. I really want it to work
I just really need my phone working for work boo...anyways so any other rock solid roms out there basically stock launcher and theme?

The Virtuous OC Daemon is included in Glite 1.0.3. Edit the files in /system/etc/virtuous_oc manually, or use the OC Beater app that was linked previously. Swype is also built into the ROM; however, it automatically uninstalls itself if you're installing Glite and aren't in the US (by design).
If you delete all traces of Swype (use Titanium Backup) then install the version from the Swype website, it will work just fine.
Glite is a VERY solid ROM, and you'd be hard-pressed to find something with better battery life. A 1.0.4 version should eventually be made available that merges in Tmo/HTC's latest 2.3.4 base.
Hope that helps.

I superwiped, and am living in the us and it still didn't install swype. I did get the rom off their official site so maybe it was that. The md5 checked out hmm maybe I'll give it another go. I enabled stock launcher and theme. So all good there.
I really want the updated version though...lol when!? Jk
Well reinstalled it today and wiped 3 times with superwipe and recovery wipe plus the roms autowipe. Got swype working finally I'm in the process of restoring apps. I know restoring system data is trouble but would restoring things like my wallpaper, bookmarks etc also cause problems I really. Don't wwant to setup my homescreens again! Lol
