Where can I find samsung kies for mac - Galaxy Tab 10.1 General

I searched all of the threads and followed the links to Samsung website but cant find the download link for Samsung kies. Can anyone send me a link or the dmg file?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App

Does not work with the 10.1 tab. VERY, VERY frustrating that I can not sync this with my mac!! Might be returning it if they don't have a fix really soon!

Samsung doesn't offer it yet for Mac. Try using file explorer to sync wirelessly. I find it works rather well

Samsung had a Mac compatible version up on the 9th, but for some reason it is no longer available... I would think it should be back up soon
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App

I didn't save the DMG file for the most recent version of Kies for Ma that allows file transfer. The version I have is 1.0.0.11062_22 and it is fast and easy - similar to file explorer on PC.
I'm sure if you run a search you can find it on the internets.

Found this on the samsung UK site.. will try it a little later

tab 10.1 not syncing with Mac
I also find it very frustrating that it is not syncing with Macs.

nvm, doesn't seem to recognize on Snow Leopard

http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobilesoftwaremanual/mobilesoftwaremanual.do?page=MOBILE.SOFTWARE.MANUAL
Doesn't work with honeycomb though

We will need to spam samsung help desk.

Looks like it's back up again. Grab it before they decide to take this one down:
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/GT-P7510MAVXAB

whats with the non liability disclaimer just to download a stupid file transfer. Zip that shouldve been available at launch

Yesterday Samsung launched Kies for Mac. Not sure if it works.
You can find it at www samsung com/us/support/downloads/GT-P7510MAVXAB#tab3 (sorry but it can't post links)
Good luck!

[Q] Tab not connecting to newest version of Kies

Hello.
I just updated Kies to version 1.5.3.10103_102, and the Tabs firmware is JJ3. This seems to be a problem, cause the previous version of Kies connected to the tab with out problems - but not this one. My phone (Galaxy S) is able to connect to the newest version, so I assume it's narrowed down to a problem between the tabs firmware version and the Kies version. Searches done in this forum gave no results as far as I could see, but I doubt no one else has experienced this?
Is there a known fix? And what is the newest official firmware released through Kies for the Galaxy Tab? I couldn't get an upgrade when I tried, but experience tells me I wouldn't get it anyways since i didn't run the latest version of Kies. I live in Norway, if it makes any difference.
I'm very sorry if I missed a similar thread,
Thanks alot in advance for any help/input.
Edit: I should add that I actually tried connecting the tab to an older version of Kies on another computer, wich worked. When I updated this computer as well, it wouldn't connect. Just to make sure that this was actually a Kies problem.
I had the same issue, had to reboot the galaxy tab after updating Kies and it then worked ok.
On the same firmware as you also JJ3, and been looking around for best firmware to update. A lot of discussions on JMD, JMC and JMA but all appear to be based around ATT and T-Mobile devices, so I am a little cautious to do anything myself yet.
p.s. Also on same Kies as you, reports already on latest firmware
A reboot doesn't seem to fix it here, unfortunatly Wonder why Samsung sticks to Kies, must be the worst piece of software I have ever been "forced" to use, and that includes Itunes
But if JJ3 is the newest firmware (I could have sworn someone was writing about a version called JJ7?) I can just wait and see what happens.
Personally I'm also sceptical of flashing any unofficial firmware as of now, doesn't seem to be all that safe? Just to afraid to end up with a 7" brick
Jj3 is the latest for xeu tabs

Same frustrating problem
I'm having problems getting Kies to find my Galaxy Tab too. Mine is a SPH-P100 (Sprint). Kies either says it can't connect, and to reconnect in "PC Studio mode" (which I can't find ANYWHERE, or it hangs at "CONNECTING DEVICE please wait" to no avail... I've tried booting into DL mode, and into recovery, and NADA... Please advise?
I was thinking I was gonna' root and flash Roto, but I dunno now... I can't even get a software that's MEANT for the Tab to work...lol
same as previous poster
I have same symptoms, can anyone point me in the right direction ?
I think I got it...
OK, just to clarify, I'm on a Sprint Galaxy Tab, SCH-P100...
After reading a TON of different forum's posts with no help at all, I started playing around with some settings, and after tapping and tapping, I MAY (I repeat) MAY have figured it out.
It seems as though all you need to do is set your Tab to USB debugging selected before you plug it into your machine to try and get Kies to read it.
Settings~> Applications~>Developement~>Select USB debugging
Plug your Tab in, and see what happens!
My result was a bit dissapointing, as it FINALLY connected, but says I have no updates available...lol Don't know if there's another setting that needs some tap action, but at least it's now connected, right?
Best wishes for at LEAST a connection between Kies and your Tab!

Galaxy GT-P1000 & flash sites

I have recently purchased a galaxy gt-p1000 tab and im having trouble using the tinychat.com website.
Colleagues of mine are able to access this website using stock browser on their HTC devices with the flash update installed.
AFAIK firefox on android does not yet support flash, so is there any way i can get this site to function?
What if one was to acquire the browser .apk from a HTC android device, would this install on a gt-p1000 tab?
Regards.
hey man, you should be able to browse any flash sites using the stock browser, you can check with www.motogp.com or something like cnn.com that uses flash, if those work it maybe a problem with that particular flash app you're trying to run.
let me know how it goes.

Sounds like you have an official (and old) firmware, try updating with a new custom one. Another thing could be using Opera Mobile, but if the issue is the firmware, flash is going to be slow anyway.

Netflix now works*** 3.1

So after seeing that the transformer got netflix i went and tried the solution with out any changes.
*I take no credit for these files or figuring this out. I was just the lucky guy who decided to flash this first
1. Download both files
2. Install the netflix apk
3. Reboot Recovery
4. Install GT10.1Netflix_patch.zip via CWM
5. Reboot System
6. Enjoy
*************************
What the patch is doing is renaming the libnvomx.so in the /system/lib/ to a .bak
Then placeing then new one into /system/lib/
If there are any problems then you can use the libnvomx.so.bak so go back to default.
The libnvomx.so file is from a Xoom. Which does seem to work for our devices
*************************
So there it is folks... if you like it and it works well for you just tap the "Thanks" button for me
Pardon my ignorance, but how is this any different than just installing the APK file from yesterday? Who was this not working for (ie - what rom?)
Really no need to go through that much trouble. See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1177969
The difference is that this should work with the Netflix updates to the app. So that you will not have to wait for a modded apk every time
What is in this patch file exactly?
Netflix up and running
I installed Netflix on my SGT today. Works perfectly. Didn't realize how many TV shows they offer (besides movies). For two bucks a week, it's worth it.
Does anyone know how to get this to work on the tab outside the US?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Thanks a bunch. Once I updated to UX I'd been having issues with my old .apk not working. Great! Now if I can finally get wifi tether working I'll be a happy "tabber".
Is there a problem that you are having?
Also is netflix in your country?
Should this fix my 12001 error I keep getting? The patched 1.3 does not work for me. I keep getting the same error.
I'm not sure about anyone else, but I've had the stock APK running just fine on HC 3.1 since I got my tablet last week.
I'm not rooted or anything, running nothing but the latest ROM update from Samsung, which is 3.1 of Honeycomb and I installed the offical APK of Netflix 1.3 and it has worked just fine, other than a lack of having video in correct HD settings.
I know this will take care of the 12001 error issue.. As for the HD issue. It did help me and a few others. I haven't had many people say anything about it. But that if you would like to try as well that would help me see if i can do anything about it, (if there is an issue).
The patch.zip simply renames the former file to a .bak just in case of any negative issues
Okay. So I have the stock apk installed and it runs well. My only issue is that I don't get full hd. Has this update fixed the hd issue for anyone?
Also, if/when Netflix launches official support for the GT is there any way to undo this? (if necessary)
Be aware that the "stock" apk is not working on the LTE version. It will open but gives an unable to communicate with server error.

You have to get a account from Strong Vpn.
I am paying 7,5 usd a month.
When you have the account from Strong , setup your device to use a vpn, and all your traffic will go thru that vpn. The ip address of the vpn will be an us one, and and netflix will allow you to sign in.

As soon as there's a posting of a positive way to root I'd be glad to try as rooting this thing is also a different process.

Thats part of the beauty of this... its takes the original libnvomx.so file and renames it libnvomx.so.bak and then places the new file there. so that when the Offical app comes out you can simply revert back.. when that comes out i will add another zip to revert back to make it simple on everyone...
I am looking into the HD problem as we speak....

[CLOSED] [Q] rooting samsung s3

I have downloaded every android driver in the hopes of rooting my samsung s3 the one from Samsung, the Intel one and another one, however whenever I search for it with the browsing button on my Acer it doesn't recognize it. I followed the directions from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1875914 and I have re-downloaded the samsung verizon drivers hoping that will work but I am starting to get desperate. I really want to root it but my stupid computer isn't recognizing the usb drivers.

Trully Easiest Way to Root Galaxy 2 7.0 w/Android, Jellbean

Seriously, I am as new to Tablets as you can get. I can hold my own ground when building, overclocking, cooling, etc a Desktop PC but I found the Tablets to be incredibly different or at least, in my opinion, they are.
After trying/downloading/installing Soooo many different software that claimed there method was "one-Click simple" and went on to explain the steps in a direct or indirect fashion, I would find that this did not apply to the Galaxy 2 7.0 Tablets, or Jellybean O/S, or was only good if you held your mouth just right and bit your tongue :silly:
What I'm saying is that they didn't work for one reason or another and I can assure you that I followed their instructions to the letter or at least as far as I could before I ran into something that they did not address and that apparently did not exist in their device.
This is particularly true when it comes to the Samsung Galaxy 2, 7.0 tablet because Samsung has two very different tablets out there with that name! Actually one has the additional word "Plus" in the title but the good folks who were lending their knowledge of how to root didn't, and often don't, specify that they're tablet was the ”Plus” version.
So to be clear; I'm speaking about the Samsung Galaxy 2 7.0 Tablet, (GT-P3100 or to be more specific, GT-P3113, or even more so, GT-P3113TS), that’s distributed in the USA and DOES NOT have "Plus" in the title. It runs about $200.00. This will very likely work for several other tablets or phones but I have NO idea which and can therefore only guarantee that it works for the Tablet I specified.
In the instructions below, I believe the writer, Abdullah Saad, is using a Galaxy 2 tablet version that is distributed in Europe. That would explain why his "step 4" regarding holding down several buttons at a certain point in the process is different than the way you would do that same operation with a USA distributed Tablet.
The Step 4 he wrote was: "...Download Mode by pressing and holding down the Volume Down and Home buttons while pressing the Power button. A screen will come up; press Volume Down Volume UP key to continue to enter Download Mode."
So I changed those few words to what it would be for the USA distributed version. I pointed this out to Abullah when I sent him a big thank you, (and a few bucks to his PayPal account for the help).
The link to this instruction is: I was prevented from posting this link by the 'XDA website management'
Please be sure to follow his instructions EXACTLY as he listed with the exceptions that I edited in step4 as I spoke about earlier.
Abdullah Saad’s Root Procedure:
If you have not already updated your Galaxy Tab 2 P3100 to UBDMA2 Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Official firmware, you can do so using our guide. And following is how you can root your Galaxy Tab 2 P3100 running UBDMA2 Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Official firmware.

Guide to Root UBDMA2 Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean on Galaxy Tab 2 P3100
1. Extract CF-Auto-Root-p4notewifiww-p4notewifixx-gtn8010.zip to get a file with .tar extension in extracted folder.
2. Extract Odin zip file and you will get Odin3 v3.07.exe.
3. Power off your tablet. Wait 5-6 seconds to confirm complete switch off.
4. Now, put the Galaxy Tab 2 P3100 tablet in Download Mode by pressing and holding down the Volume Down and the Power button. A screen will come up; press Volume UP key to continue to enter Download Mode.
5. Now run Odin3 v3.07.exe (see Step 2) as an Administrator because Admin rights are required to complete the process smoothly.
6. Now connect your Galaxy Tab 2 P3100 with your PC using USB cable. A message will appear under Odin’s message box in the bottom left saying “Added!!”. If you don’t get it, then try another USB port. If that too doesn’t work, then reinstall the USB driver. If you successfully see the “Added!!” message in Odin, you are good to go. Also, check for COM port with a number in Yellow to make sure that you have successfully added your device.
7. Select these files in Odin at respective button:
o Click the PDA Button, and select the CF-Auto-Root-p4notewifiww-p4notewifixx-gtn8010.tar.md5 file.
o In Odin window, make sure Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checkboxes are selected.
o Double check everything. Hit the START button to begin the flashing process.
o Once the flashing process is completed, the tablet will reboot automatically and you will see a PASS message in the top-left-most box. You can now unplug the USB cable to disconnect your device from computer.
Your Galaxy Tab 2 P3100 running UBDMA2 Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware is now rooted. If there are any issues, feel free to post in the comments section for our staff to take a look at it.
I’m sure this will help someone because when it comes to Tablets, if it could get through to me, it can get through to anybody. lol

Seriously, I've tried that one and also at least three others but they always addressed a different device in their examples. But I'd follow the steps anyway and get the responses as they would describe only to have it not work. There turned out to be several good reasons for the failures but one example was Z4's Odin download which was not updated and that apparently was why that one didn't work. But it's done and behind me. If people have that tablet, (Sammy G 2 7.0), and follow the above directions, I can't see how they'll miss.

Oh, I see. Yes, I agree about the post location. I really thought I was where I was supposed to be. Now I need to go back and look over the ENTIRE list of threads and their pertinent locations when I get a chance.
To the administration, feel free to cut this post or move it or whatever, I know that posts that are started in the wrong location begin to make the site 'muddy' so I totally understand. I'll re-post once I figure out where everything is and I'm positive of where it needs to be.
