God I love game of thrones.

The app does not work yet. For now just download a secondary browser like say dolphin hd or dolphin mini. Set the homepage as www.hbogo.com and set plug ins to always on. Just use that browser for hbo go. It worked great on my xoom. And yeah game of thrones is awesome.
Skyfire
I too was looking for HBO Go but its not available for our device. I even tried downloading the apk and installing it. This worked and the app opened but as soon as it opened it spit out a dialog box saying it wasnt available for my device. I used Skyfire browser and just set it to be viewed as a desktop and was able to get on. And yes Game of Thrones is awesome! But now we have to wait until spring of 2012 for the next season!
Been awhile. Anyone have any luck getting HBO GO to work on Google IO Tab? I can't get HBO GO to work in browser either.
App doesn't work for me, but I use the browser to access it.

Hi,
is it possible to access this site (in free mode) and listen to streams while doing other stuff, can it play in the background?
http://grooveshark.com
TinyShark might do the job. I haven't tested it on my transformer tho.
Could you try it?
Can't it be just accessed like the website? Maybe with hacked flash..., like hulu?
Can anyone try?
Streaming music using it now. The app could be better but it works fine

What happens when you try to access it via browser?
As for the website it doesnt seem to load correctly but that could be down to Prime 1.4, the Overlocking or the fact I'm connecting via the work network.

Your flash... is it official or alternate ver?
Official 10.3
If you go to mobile.grooveshark.com it prompts you to download a grooveshark.apk which isnt on the market. Downloading and trying now.

Thanks Mate!
BTW: do u know if sites like bbc and BBC iPlayer, ITV, 4oD and TV Catchup work OK?
Hmmm the grooveshark app doesnt want to install and checking the site it looks like the official app want a subscription anyway so its tinyshark or nothing for me (as the website not loading might be my build... need someone else to confirm).
iPlayer and the other sites seem to work but haven't tried them all. Does grooveshark use java or HTML5 or something other than standard flash I wonder?
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
Also just FYI TinyShark works fine in the background (it runs in notifications bar)
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
I suppose someone with hacked flash and (if it still the case) browser setup as DESKTOP would need to try.
I also found these as app it self has been take off the market:
http://androinica.com/2011/04/grooveshark-android-app-open-letter/
http://androinica.com/2010/04/tips-how-to-install-android-beta-apps-and-apk-files/
I have mine set to desktop and it does attempt to load the page but you just get a white box where the player should be, no region errors or whatlike.
I'm not sure why the official grooveshark app won't install, android has this annoying thing of when installing a package putting a nice green tick next to "install did not install" and nothing else.

Thanks again.
Grooveshark installed fine in my TF, running 1.4 prime.
It's also a lot better than Slacker; as slacker will not let you cache more than one device at a time....GS let's you do whatever you want....
The web version is a bit klunky...and the tablet version isn't optimized and so it doesn't look as good as it could but it works fine.
Thanks for the info.
I am in the middle of uploading stuff to Google Music so there will be alwyas something to listen to
GrooveShark will never work on the Android browser the way you are expecting. Use TinyShark or fork over the money for the official GrooveShark app.
Just a note, the Grooveshark application is not working for the Atrix. Support will credit you for time too.

Grooveshark is HTML5, not Flash.

In another thread someone mentioned that they were able to play the videos by browsing to the website.
I tried that in the stock browser and the video started playing. It looked nice and smooth and HD. After about 2-3 mins, the framerate dropped to like 3 frames per second and the video become unwatchable. I couldnt figure out a way to fix it, so I gave up.
This is a deal breaker for me considering how awesome HBO Go is. Any rooted devices/custom roms got it running?

Works perfectly in the Dolphin browser.

this is debatable. Not everyone has been having the same success as you. I have tried a couple different browsers and the video starts out smooth, then after a few minutes the frames drop and it's unwatchable.
Haven't been able to figure out why, since I have plenty of RAM available.
Contact HBO. They have to make it work.
It's only a matter of time until this app has GTab 10.1 support. Email the developer. I did. And I'm having success watching it through Dolphin HD

I swore I tried Dolphin also and it didnt work. Maybe it's one of those "your mileage may vary" things.
So the wife has been asking for a solution on watching videos hulu.com on the tablet, but afaik it doesn't work on any current browser. After putting my mad Google skill to work, found a paid app for $.99 called Flash Video Browser (buy it on Amazon cause Google market will show not compatible) which does the job.
http://www.amazon.com/Daniel-Lockard-Flash-Video-Browser/dp/B006IHK9PK
I even tried it on my Nook Color and it works there too.
Check out civatos hulu flash installer....not positive but I think it will work with any rom and it installs hulu app so you don't have to use a browser......you could also flash his rom flexstriker along with above and watch hulu from stock browser.......if you wanna stay stock skyfire works if you set it to desktop and its free
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
Tried Civato's ROM with hulu flash, movies work fine but for tv shows, it just die out after the commercial. Beside, I needed a solution that will work on multiple tablets and this app seems to fit the need.
There is a apk floating around that works you just install it sorry I need to find it again so if someone finds it post URL please
Anywho it works well watched terra nova no problems works with all android devices!

downloading that hulu apk, thanks a ton for that! also, TC, its not quite as extensive as hulu plus but you could always go for crackle. its on the market, its free, and its actually quite good with a decent library (although small compared to netflix and hulu) but its full episodes and movies for free as long as you can live with the occasional commercial.

I must be lucky, I used the backup off my nexus s and its works great restored to the tblet

To get hulu to work on my rooted iconia, I took the " /data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib/libflashplayer.so" and opened it in a hex editor on my computer. Where I found "AND" followed by a version number I replaced it with "WIN". I then put the modified file back on the tablet in a different directory. I use script manager to run a script that replaces the existing file with the modified file whenever I start the tablet. I also changed the UA string for the browsers I am using to use "desktop". For the stock browser, you type "about:debug" to getting the settings that allow you to so.
I found information about doing this on other forums. Script for copying is below. You need to set execute permissions on libflashplayer.so after you put it back on the tablet. I used Es file manager in root mode to get access to everything.
cp /data/flashhack/libflashplayer.so /data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib/libflashplayer.so

Is this the standard, "Use Flash + web browser" way?
The actual Amazon Video app would be sweet. I've been digging through old threads going back to the original Fire trying to get this going on my N7 this weekend. Video quality aside, it would be nice to get everything going so you can download videos to device. For, hypothetically, loading "A Charlie Brown Christmas" or somesuch for the flight home next week.
Anyhow, so far I understand this may be a pipe dream. But if anyone has any more recent tips on Amazon Video + Nexus, please hit me up. So far the farthest I can get is registering my N7 as a device (shows up in Amazon even), seeing my account and videos, but then FC upon clicking on any vids.
One more try, then... *starts digging through newest KFHD dump*

New Amazon Instant Video App
Today Amazon Instant Video arrived to the Google Play Store. Unfortunately, it is only compatible with Google TV. Considering it can run on those, which are essentially android, why not try to find a way to get it to run on our phones and tablets. Considering the screen-shots they have on the Play link, it could be used on our devices. There has to be a way, maybe by editing the build.prop, to get Google Play to think that your phone or tablet is actually a Google TV. I tried a few things but could not manage to get it to work, but I'm sure someone with more experience could figure this one out.
Update: I recently saw that there is a Google Play version for Google TV on the Play Store so maybe that could help if we could get that running on a device.

We have a thread going over on the Kindle HD forum, and I've been trying to get this download by using a build.prop change. From what I can find online its only compatible with new LG TVs, the 47G2 and 55G2. And from a youtube review of one of these TVs the device name was "LG Google TV" so I tried a build.prop with manufacturer "lge" (since thats what they use on other devices IIRC) and device name "LG Google TV". Yet it still showed as incompatible.
If we could just get a copy of this apk, maybe it will work. Still don't know why Amazon can't release a native Android app. The apk from the OG Kindle Fire works on GB but FCs on ICS and JB. The apk from the 2nd gen Kindle Fire HD FCs on everything.
FWIW here is teh list of compatible devices.

"compatible" how? browser + flash, or the video app?
I'm trying this method with MarketHelper, along with RootCloak module when needed ... in order to use an amazon app, not a browser.

Sent from my SM-G900T using XDA Free mobile app
I'm assuming you meant Amazon Prime Video? As of now there is no Android app for it aside from GTV app (which only works on select TVs). There's one for Kindle tablets and Fire Phone, but no other Android devices have access to it. In fact, you can rip APK off the Kindle Fire or Fire Phone and sideload it on any Android phone, but they won't work and force close on any device other than Kindle. As of now, your only option to watch Amazon Prime Video on Android is to use browser that supports Flash, such as Dolphin Browser.
Amazon recently did mention that they may come up with an app for other Android devices soon, but that hasn't happened yet, and I doubt it will any time soon, so I'd say browser is your best bet.
Okay, apparently it seems the app recently got released. Here's the link to it.

Amazon Instant Video should already be available on Roku. What model of Roku do you have? Depending on the model, your other option is to use screen mirroring, so long as you have supporting media streaming device.

It could be because its international variant. They're very picky about that kind of things. You could try an app called Market Helper. It's an app that helps your device disguise as some other device so you can download "incompatible" apps from Play Store. It requires root access, but if you're interested, try the link below.
http://goo.gl/GYz7z0
If that doesn't work, well, I guess you could simply download the APK, and side load it. I did that on my Nexus 7, and it does work perfectly(it shows as incompatible on Play Store). Once you have the Amazon app, you can download Instant Video app from Amazon appstore right from Amazon app. They don't seem to check for compatibility on Instant Video app, so you should have no problem with that. It's kinda interesting as even though they say the tablets are "not supported" the app seems to adapt to tablet screen, changing UI element to fit the bigger screen. Anyways, below is the link to the APK I ripped off my phone. Enjoy

Thanks! Trying the Market Helper (and ROM Toolbox) first...
Also if you have botbrew, can't you technically install Flash w/ Firefox and watch? Never tried it since it seems overkill, but would it work in theory?
