[Q] Warranty - Galaxy S II General

I have bought my sgs2 from samsung Romania. They say if i flash any other firmware beside the official one for Romania via Kies, i lose the warranty.
I can hardly help it to stay stock:|. I am looking to root, flash updates, customs roms.
My question is: Can i revert to the stock official XWKE2, unroot, etc just as out of the box, so that the phone can appear untweaked and have the warranty again ? Is there a way the guys at the service find out that the phone was flashed?
Thanks in advance for your answers!

how do i find a copy? from where can i download ?
on xda? i'll try a search

http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9100.htm
oh and btw,
if you flash a custom binary, it voids your warranty, even if you flash back to stock.
everytime you flash a custom binary, it notes how many times you flashed a custom binary.
if you would send your device back to your carrier, they can easily check if there was a custom binary flashed on your phone.
I would suggest, that you get an USB jig off ebay or somewhere else. with it, you can reset this counter, and you get your warranty back(price is around 8$).

Un Root

Hi I rooted my phone but now need to send it back so need to unroot it. From what I gather I just need to flash the firmware with Odin and it will be un rooted. When I do *#1234# on my hand set it says:
PDA:I9000XXJF4
PHONE: I9000XXJF3
CSC: I9000TMUJE6
Am I right that I just need to flash the PDA version?
So which firmware do i need to replace the original and unroot?
I9000XXJF4 or I9000XXJF3???
Thanks I'm desperate!

Hi,
My phone when it came, all the files were the JF3 version. It's weird that you have a different version to each of the components.
Your best bet is to download JF3 and install ALL the 3 components.
Really? So does anyone else have different ones for phone and PDA?
I was wondering if anyone has worked out how to Un-Root? Would a factory data reset do it?
I tried that and it dosent

Was wondering if this would work to un-root the phone. I have not rooted my handset yet as I am a bit apprehensive incase I am unable to un-root due to possible warranty issues that may arise.
I just checkec mine. It's all JF4. I bought it on 7 Jul.

Why is it going to warranty? If there is a hardware fault then at least in australia it would be criminal for them to refuse to repair it under the warranty. If you are in america then the rooting has just been declared a fair use under the new DMCA rules (your software, your choice).
If you have software issues tho then you might have some fun. Why not delete the superuser app and then leave it at that. I'd be amazed if rooting the phone in an official way isn't the first thing they do when they get it in at service.
Also the different versions are because of your provider. TMUJe6 would correspond with your provider (TMobile?) and JE6 just means that they released their APN and branding applications later than the phone build. IMHO this would be correct for your phone.

My previous Galaxy S was faulty so I flashed a different firmware to see if it was software related and the problems still existed so it was a faulty phone or something. T-Mobile replaced it with a brand new one even though the firmware and CSC files were different.
Oh and my previous one was JF3 for both PDA and Phone but current one is same as yours JF4 and JF3.

How to put my Note back to original state as my Note screen is faulty

I got my Note yesterday from a phone shop and my screen has loads of lines across it when dark colours are displayed...not happy! Its not damaged so its not my fault I only noticed last night and its been stressing me out.
I rooted the phone earlier and also I installed the ICS theme, can I get back to original state before I go to return the phone, help needed please! Thanks.
try settings, privacy, factory data reset. if that doesnt work, you may need to flash.
Reflash back with the stock regional ROM, Although I have no idea yet as to where to get the ROM.. last time I checked with Samfirmwares they dont have it yet.
Anyone know of another way to unroot, maybe by using the unrooting method?
Here is how I rooted, I used this guide in the following link http://knowmydroid.com/guide/root-samsung-galaxy-note
...so you know what method I used so that you can tell me the proper unroot solution, thanks.

The link came from wikipedia and is a Europe rom

How do I do that?...ring them up? I bought my phone from the Carphonewarehouse incase you have an idea of what rom it is
I have the update rom on my phone, all I need is either another rom or the stock theme to remove my current theme (ICS) so that they don't know I had root, then I can unroot my phone.
The phone will be unrooted in the process of flashing a stock ROM. Did you pull a nandroid when your phone was (almost) still stock? You could restore that against the theme. As for root/unroot, I did jot down my original version: XXKJ4. I find that ROM, I'll be fully stock again. Check the thread of the root solution you used, there might be instructions on how to unroot. Also there is a dedicated how-to-unroot-thread in the dev section.

I'm also interested in this.. I would like to root my phone, but I don't want to lose the warranty.
SAMMOBILE
Anyone in the UK who like me purchased their note from carphone warehouse, if you hop over to sammobile, you will find for the N7000, a nice stock rom listed for the note, and it is the carphone warehouse version..
I have it as backup to flash just in case it ever has to be reurned, but for the record, for those that did not know, As long as it has a rom that is stock for your region on it when you return it then its fine, Flashing or upgrading a stock regional rom does not affect your warranty, so dont worry about binary counters.
I think custom roms and kernels do affect warranty tho.
check this link to download and install as directed..

[Q] Another-CSC based ROM flashing can make problem?

Hello, I am using SM-N9005 32GB, Black.
First, I am sorry cause my English is not good.
I bought from internet shop this, when I ordered EU region product, but I just received XME(Malay).
I want to flash a ROM DBT(Germany) or other EU countries, but I am afraid to make any problem by flashing another CSC-based ROM. Can it make any problem(KNOX Warranty, Hard-brick or other problems...) by flashing another CSC-based ROM?
If it doesn't make problem, I will flash EU region ROM.
and, any requirements for change another-CSC based ROM(Rooting etc...)?
Please help me.
From what I have read (may not be 100% right!), changing CSC doesn't do anything to your phone eg, Trip KNOX etc, unless you flash a custom ROM, Root etc and does not brick. - As long as you are flashing Official Firmware of course.
You will get updates from a different region though, wait and see if someone more experienced posts just to be sure what I have said is 100% -

Thanks for your answer.
Now I already flashed British Unlocked(BTU) ROM, but I cannot change my CSC code XEM(Malay) to BTU.
I will search articles to change my csc code.
Thank you.
Have a look at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2461929 There is some CSC files there, but make sure you read and I'm sure if they're wrong there will be more recent one's posted further in the thread. Good luck.

Back to stock ROM

So I flashed the SuperStock ROM the other day. To get Samsung Pay working.. can I just flash a stock TMobile firmware (i have a tmo model) via ODIN and restore the phone back to stock ? I understand Knox will still be tripped once I flashed it. Will that prevent Samsung Pay to work ? Anybody do this before ? lol

Hi there! Nice to see you around... used your ROMs years ago on my HD2!
Well, regarding knox, as far as I could read so far, there is no way around it, except a dev has a something hidden and didn´t tell the community yet. Once tripped, there is no way back and samsung pay won´t work, unfortunately. I already tested by "unrooting" and flashing a stock rom through odin. It will state that the rom is official but KNOX = 1.

Switching official FW in Odin - will it void warranty?

Hello guys,
I have S8 version SF-G950F with Active CSC code XEH (Hungary). I want to switch to unbranded Czech version ETL. Can I do it using Odin without loosing warranty and changing Knox state?
I have asked in another forum and got no clear answer - some people said yes, some no
Thanks !
If u flash stock frimware with Odin without turning on OEM then your WARRANTY is STILL THERE but if u turn on oem or flash other funny things besides the stock firmware found on samsungs website (ull need to bear the slow speeds)then u will void your warranty.... so make sure to get your firmware with your correct region from HERE and if u know how to flash the stock rom do it or else follow tutorials on Youtube wish you luck
