Haptic Feedback Mod? - Eee Pad Transformer General

So if you guys saw my review of the Samsung galaxy tab 10.1 you know that one of the features that I would like to see on the TF is haptic feedback. It's a very smart idea. I had it on my galaxy tab 7" too and I really miss it.
I took apart my TF in hopes of finding the proper mounting spot for the haptic feedback mechanism. I included a picture of the motor. So not knowing anything about circuits, the best I could do is provide pictures of all the logic boards in hope that someone can point me in the right direction. Obviously this will require some soldering but that's not a big issue for me (unless it's too small). Mounting the vibrator isn't the issue. The issue I an having is WHERE can I mount it so that it actually functions when I tap the screen or use the on-screen keyboard. Where can I tap into? Please look at the pictures and let me know if you have an ideas. I don't mind being the guinea pig.

If more picture are needed then let me know. Picture were taken with my thunderbolts 8mp camera so hopefully they are good enough.

Nowhere. If it wasn't designed for it, I can pretty much guarantee you that there's not a connection that conveniently sits there waiting to attach it to.
Thanks for the teardown pics, though.

Eh, the question was answered. The Transformer doesn't really have any room for a motor. Not how it's built -- After all, it's made to be thin and small.
I wonder if any of those USB vibrators would work with the ports on the keyboard dock?

You very nearly had me Googling for a USB vibrator .... nearly!

The iPad didn't come with a camera yet it had the perfect spot for one. The Samsung vibrant didn't come with a camera but it was easy to snap one in. Just cuz a feature didn't make the final cut doesn't mean it wasnt initial designed to handle it- they probably removed it to safe money and bring the cost down.
The question isn't about room. There is plenty of room. Obviously if samung can fit a small motor inside then the galaxy tab (which is nearly half the size of the TF) then one in the TF is not an issue.
Anyway, ill consider this topic dead. Keep talking about women and vibrators

you can checkout this DIY Haptic method I came up with back in my G-Tab days. Might work with the ASUS. Worked really well with my G-Tab.

Official Docks for Defy?

Anyone tried putting a magnet next to the back of their Defy?
I have this leather case for an old XDA I used to have, which has a magnet built in to clasp the strap closed.
When I put the defy in, it came up with a multimedia dock interface!
Also, putting the magnet at another point puts it into the car windscreen dock interface.
I looked on the Motorola website for the accessories, but they list the milestone multimedia/windscreen docks under the Defy accessories.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Milestone's usb port is in the wrong place to fit?
Yes, the milestone won't fit. I'm waiting for a desk-stand, too

Problem is, it'll switch into car mode every time you use that...
magnet polarity
Turn the polarity of magnet!
If you put the magnet same place like in the car mount (behind of the menu button), but with reversed polarity. The phone runs the media home instead of car home.
I understand that's how it works.
Thing is, how easy is to to get to the magnet?
Are you likely to end up ruining or breaking the dock whilst trying to remove and reinsert it?
If you don't want the magnet to work, can't you put the phone in upside down? Most of my apps work fine inverted. I realize that puts the usb on top...
I just bought a cheap mount from China on eBay now. No magnet

Note 10.1 car Install (video)

So i bought me a Galaxy Note 10.1 to go into my car and it works out nice.. This is my main headunit/Radio and wanted to let everyone see it..
Sorry it was dark when i finshed so i might upload a daytime video soon..

What'd you do to mount it?
You've got that big of a flat area that you can velcro in your car? Never seen that before. Here's my two car dashboards... I could never do this. I've been thinking about it though and I'd love to be able to mount my Note 10.1, but I'd have to get one of those arm things. Here's the dash of my daily driver, an 09 GTI.

Yep, I'm pretty certain that this setup would be illegal in the UK for the same reasons. If you couldn't dismantle it there and then when you got stopped, they might impound the vehicle.
See Section 109 of the Road Traffic Construction and Use Regulations
It can be removed and i also don't ride with the display on and if i do its only to change a song or to use navigation. At night i reduce the brightness so it wont be so noticeable since the screen is so bright..

Is outdoor visibility - real issue or no?

Can anyone comment on this topic? Reviews on sites seem to really knock the outdoor visibility with these watches so I just wanted some opinions from some real users. It seems reviews continue to knock these devices but a lot of individual reviews from users on sites seem to praise the device and people just seem real happy with them. What's your guys take on this? I'm going to be picking up the Gear Live but it seems both have this issue.
Also for any Gear users, feel free to chime in about the charging method. That seems to be talked about a lot as well but sometimes you never know with these official review sites. I value actual users opinions more.

All the reviews that state the watch face is hard to see outside are stupid. It's obviously hard to see when the screen is dimmed, but as soon as you tilt your wrist and the screen turn on you can see it perfectly even in the brightest sunlight.
Yeah I figured a lot of them over exaggerate that topic. I mean my phone is hard to see in direct sunlight. These types of screens will always be difficult.

It's not bad, but of course it's not the same as if it was cloudy out. There is no phone where the visibility isn't slightly decreased in the direct sun. But we can still see the phone to use most importantly. But regardless, that is good to know about the gear live. I really want this watch. How do you feel about the charger port? Everyone keeps saying wait for the 360, but you know what, its August 1st and no announcement has been made. I'm tired of waiting and want to join in on the fun.
I honestly have no problem wit my S5 in direct bright as hell sunlight... But I love it personally. Got a messaging app for wear and now I barely use my phone for texting haha. Charging is painless IMO, I don't get the big deal people have with it.

I find performance in the rain to be more of an issue.
While trying to track my rides with Strava the rain often closes the app, swipes away cards and generally plays hell with the watch.
There are a couple of screen lock apps but then you can't actually unlock the screen with wet fingers.

How would a screen protector help? Water is simply highly conductive so that's why the watch goes all crazy. Only way to avoid it is to keep it dry or at least make sure there is no water connecting the touch screen with your skin

It was just a suggestion. Some screen protectors actually decrease the sensitivity of the screen. We Dont notice it really but maybe it would help prevent a couple rain drops from messing with the screen. Doesn't matter though lol. Not sure how in the future they can correct this besides your suggestions.

Theres a few phones that are actually designed for you to be able to use underwater. When they recognize water they change the input method from capacitive to pressure I doubt anyone is going to do that on the watch though. And about the screen protectors: If they lower the sensitivity you will run into problems when it's not raining xD

Plus at night when my watch is displaying the time, I just want the time to light up. Don't like the idea that the whole screen still lights up. But I still want to try the G watch. That sucks, my nearby Best Buys all have plenty in stock (last I looked a few days ago). Why not just order one from the website? The only real reason I went with the G Watch is because of the magnetic charger...much, much better than the Live's. I do wish it had an OLED display though. But this is just supposed to hold me over to the moto360, provided it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

I find that it is TOO sensitive when it's enabled using a glass protector. But without it enabled, it's not sensitive enough. Sigh. Wish they'd let us calibrate it.
P.s. I'm using a zagg glass curve elite ATM on both my S9 and S9+ and same issue. Just purchased some T-Max (generic Whitestone rip off at less than half the price of a Whitestone) so will see how those go.
Haha I guess it is one step to a better future. Where do you find it too sensitive? Is it at the curve areas?

Lol ok I guess a LOCA based tempered glass like InvisShield True Fit may be suitable for you then in this case
