It seems like my tablet is coming apart on the bottom near the USB input. Anyone else having this issue? Doesn't seem to affect performance just an annouance.
Mine doesn't look like it's coming apart, but i can press my thumbnail into the groove and it will separate slightly. Doesn't seem to do that on the other side.

Take it back, it's clearly defective and you shouldn't have to put up with that on such an expensive purchase.

Well best of luck and I WILL be keeping up with this !!!
Subscribing lol
holy crap, already? Subscribed...
would love it if you could check to see if you see the nand chip (probably a square flat pc, soldered on one of the boards) and if it sez "SEM04G" or "SEM02G" on it
that would resolve the issue on internal memory
also if you can take a shot of what is serving as a spring on the Z hinge -
tks in advance and definitely subscribed
Wow, OK.

not necessarily - in fact I believe there has to be a spring employed - take your phone, hold it so either end is facing straight down (not one of the long edges down) -
then open the screen all the way, start to bring it back like you're closing it, and about 1/3rd of the way from full open, a spring brings it across the center point and nearly to the 1/3rd from fully closed position. No gravity in effect there -
probably isn't much of a spring, but it doesn't need much - a flat strip of plastic that the end of the hinge rubs against and bows out as the screen travels toward the center of it's open/close arc. at the center of that arc would be the max point of bow.
there's another way to do it, but with the limitation in depth, that's how i suspect their doing it - i could be wrong on the 'how' part, but there is a spring capturing energy from the screen as you open it - as the above demo proves
Well, if we can get proof that it's not a 4GB chip like T-Mobile's claiming, they won't be able to refuse returns/exchanges.

Pretty sure the design is based on pendulum swing.
Salute for this astonishing attempt
One hinge is easy the other is not. The one up with the copper strip (which must be pealed to reveal another screw) is a *****. The mobo is very thin. Will try again tomorrow after I have fun upgrading vCenter servers at work.

Sorry, can you clarify if you are throwing your phone on the ground in an effort to fix this? If so, stop. Seriously, don't do it.

I agree with this but to me it looks like maybe small pieces of broken plastic or glass between the lens.. the only way to remove this would be to open the phone and clean it out, I wouldn't recommend doing this yourself though.. maybe try to contact your local HTC repair centre and see if they would be able to do this for you.
@ronalgps: sounds like you have maybe dislodged the camera or broken the connection in some way from the fall.. as I said above try to contact your local HTC repair centre and see if they can fix this for you.

like I said.. sounds like something is in between the lens so depending on how much you move the phone maybe they move out of place for a while.
So if you guys saw my review of the Samsung galaxy tab 10.1 you know that one of the features that I would like to see on the TF is haptic feedback. It's a very smart idea. I had it on my galaxy tab 7" too and I really miss it.
I took apart my TF in hopes of finding the proper mounting spot for the haptic feedback mechanism. I included a picture of the motor. So not knowing anything about circuits, the best I could do is provide pictures of all the logic boards in hope that someone can point me in the right direction. Obviously this will require some soldering but that's not a big issue for me (unless it's too small). Mounting the vibrator isn't the issue. The issue I an having is WHERE can I mount it so that it actually functions when I tap the screen or use the on-screen keyboard. Where can I tap into? Please look at the pictures and let me know if you have an ideas. I don't mind being the guinea pig.

If more picture are needed then let me know. Picture were taken with my thunderbolts 8mp camera so hopefully they are good enough.

Nowhere. If it wasn't designed for it, I can pretty much guarantee you that there's not a connection that conveniently sits there waiting to attach it to.
Thanks for the teardown pics, though.

Eh, the question was answered. The Transformer doesn't really have any room for a motor. Not how it's built -- After all, it's made to be thin and small.
I wonder if any of those USB vibrators would work with the ports on the keyboard dock?
You very nearly had me Googling for a USB vibrator .... nearly!

The iPad didn't come with a camera yet it had the perfect spot for one. The Samsung vibrant didn't come with a camera but it was easy to snap one in. Just cuz a feature didn't make the final cut doesn't mean it wasnt initial designed to handle it- they probably removed it to safe money and bring the cost down.
The question isn't about room. There is plenty of room. Obviously if samung can fit a small motor inside then the galaxy tab (which is nearly half the size of the TF) then one in the TF is not an issue.
Anyway, ill consider this topic dead. Keep talking about women and vibrators

Is anyone's screen slightly raised up a bit near the volume and power buttons? Like maybe a few mm or less? This is my 2nd replacement, which also has this issue. I'm not sure if I should RMA again if others will end up like this. Is it normal, I would like to hear from others who have the 6P? If it won't fall off over time, I think I can live with it lol

Considering my first unit was like this, I doubt the next one will be much dramatically better. I can live with it, but I am worried that it might get worse over time.
