Hello, Android device market with 3D "glasses free" display expands and everything
looks to indicate that continue to expand in the future, how to develop 3D native applications? I think the HTC EVO 3D comes with an integrated 3D game
"Spiderman", as I have seen in the reviews, and I imagine that there are more native 3D software for the Evo and for other devices like LG Optimus 3D and LG tablet 3D. There is information reference to program in this 3D native? Or the applications remain like always and is the screen itself that does the job of converting it to 3D? did we must wait for a future SDK that simplifies those?
Thank you very much, Greetings

Are you sure developing 3D in polaris implies only driver (software development) ? It isn't possible, that Polaris 3D is somehow limited by HW by purpose? I'm not saying it isn't capable of 3D, I'm saying if there is some HW tweaks to do before enabeling 3D driver. Like on my old MSI Geforce3 pro , If I moved 2 condenser elswhere in a specific location , the card was recognised by the OS, as Quadro , enabeling Quadro features in CAD, and performing about 20% faster, without owerclocking. Could be something similar on the polaris?
No, and no.
I won't ask you to read our development topic from the beginning to the end, but we started out with software 3D, using the Omnia dll.
After Nikmel came with another ddi.dll we experimented and came up with 3D graphics (which were WAY faster than the Omnia) but we had the issue of the screen rolling.
We straightened that out and now we have hardware 3D as it was supposed to be.
Mind you: It's still in BETA stage and we've not explored every aspect of the driver/hardware yet.
Thanx for fast reply, you are right , I won't read all that xx pages, becouse so few information had to filter within so many offtopic or "thanx" posts. That's why I opened a new thread. BTW, I really apriciate your presence here on the Polaris subforum...
Video playback (overlay, direct draw, gdi) depends on 3D or 2D driver? I read it somewhere it depends on 3D driver, but it's kinda confusing...
Would it be possible to make panels that are dedicated to certain apps like core player or morphgear which could then take advantage of the graphics via the new sdk? Would be a lot better if we could get some use out of the ati graphics...or would it not work like that. I tried searching on google but couldnt find much.

Afaik, hardware acceleration can only be achieved if the software developer gets the info they need from Qualcomm. Coreplayer is still working on it and morphgear.. don't count on it.
The panels won't be able to help here, you can have the panel itself accelerated, but not the app running inside.
hey Angelusz, sorry about not replying sooner mate!
This driver thing is a serious problem...if I knew how crippled the x1 was...I dont think i would have purchased it.
The new 3d game by sony is, lets be honset, ****e. I have more fun playing emulated games and these fancy 3d ones with zero playability. I just wish that we could make the x1 as good as it should be.
Is there word/hope that this could be fixed? Are there guys in other parts of xda working on a fix...which could also help us x1 users?
Some 3d performance increased can be achieved through installing other drivers (for instance the omnia's, diamond's, or better yet the Rhodium's.
2d.. I have no idea how to work that out though. It's a problem all MSMxxxx CPU's from Qualcomm have, including the diamond, touch pro and touch HD. I'm not sure about the Rhodium and Blue Topaz, but I'm guessing they're using the same chip as the X1 and touch HD.
Would it be possible for some clever guys(s) to make a driver from scratch? I noticed a post in offering a bounty for the first person to achieve the goal would get all the $$$. Cause I know that a lot of x1 owners (and prob other htc users) would all chip in for such a worthy cause.
...or should I just face facts that its never gonna happen
Thanks for replying to all my questions, im new to the ppc thing and still cant get my head round the fact that they have crippled our phone. Games on the iphone look upto psp standards!
Hi,
Just recently bought an HD2 as I could throw any video onto it without conversion and play it with CorePlayer.
Is there anyway to do this with the N1?
I used to have a Hero and the video capabilities were shocking!!!
wondering the same thing. would love to play some other video formats if i can. what do i need to download!
There is no coreplayer for android because android apps are not native -- they run in an interpreted Java VM (it doesn't even have a JIT). In fact, I personally classify Android as a dumbphone OS -- there have been dumbphones that can multitask J2ME apps for years, and if all of the JSRs are implemented, J2ME is a rather complete spec (it even has accelerated 3D, something that Google is just now getting around to). To me, the defining feature of a smartphone is the capability to run native apps ... so both Android and Blackberry are just really, really fancy dumbphones.
Granted, Google has released the "NDK" (native development kit), but the programmers behind coreplayer have declared the NDK to be a complete joke, and have stated that they will not be bringing coreplayer to android until Google more fully addresses the lack of a way to interact with the phone hardware on a lower level.
I love my Nexus One, but IMO this is one area where google really really dropped the ball. Windows Mobile, iPhone, S60, Maemo, and soon even web OS support native apps. Google needs to do two things:
1) Get its game together and offer real native app support
2) Offer APIs to hardware accelerate multimedia functions (I think they may have finally added 3D in 2.1)
... I'm sick of having apps on my 1GHz snapdragon that look like gameboy advance crapware.
If I'm wrong about any of this stuff, someone please let me know, but as far as I know this is the case.
Thanks for the in depth reply bradsh1.
So really, as I want a phone that will do ebooks, audiobooks, and videos, my HD2 is better than the Nexus One?
The only thing that bugs me about the HD2 is that the Sense UI can get a bit choppy at times with animations and I really like my devices to run smooth and fluidly.
Or maybe when bravo is out we can port the rom to N1 as brovo as support for Divx atleast.
Hi everyone,
Thanks for all your feedback from our earlier posts on the MantaMod driver release with dynamic texture replacement and unlocked free-camera capability.
Here's an update for the community that we've just released MantaMod v1.3 which features the ability to convert games to stereoscopic 3D. So if you have an Nvidia Shield, and will like to play Angry Birds or Dead Trigger on your 3D TV, in full stereoscopic 3D, you can now do so with the MantaMod driver.
As with other MantaMod features, there is no need to change the original game APK package at all, because MantaMod seamlessly handles all the 2D to 3D conversion at the graphics driver layer before drawing the images on screen.
If there's any particular game you'd like to try out in stereoscopic 3D, we'll be happy to support it, drop us a note to let us know.

Very interesting work!
I don't have much use for it, but I hope that you/your team will figure out lots of other cool things in the future! :good:
How about oculus support

We'll definitely be interested to do something with the Oculus Rift, but haven't had a chance to look into that possibility in detail so far.
Anyone know if the Oculus is going to be released running Android as a standalone device? Saw some news about that, though not definitive. If it is, it should be straightforward for us to get the MantaMod drivers running on it.

This is great cant wait to try it!
I love 3d movies, photos and gaming.
Will most games work in 3d or does it have to be supported by the driver?
Some games is like to see riptide 1 and 2, afterburner, maybe some emulators n64 or ps1(retroarch),FPse(psx), reicast(dreamcast) Doom GLES
Dead trigger gives me only yellow buggy screen.
Can you do more games in side by side mode? Or even emulators? This is great vor VR headsets like the dive!

I don't think PS1 emulators will work well in stereo 3D with the way the rendering works on the PS1.
There is no real z-depth like we know from most PC games.
This would work for the Google Cardboard right?
At Google I/O, they made a super-budget VR headset similar to the Dive, called Cardboard. This headset would work for MantaMod correct? And if so, which version of it, because I am confused as to how it would integrate with say Limelight for example. If this does work, with Limelight, with the Cardboard Dive-alternative, I'm going to suggest it to everybody I know. It would be great to see that happen. The Viiwok Deva HMD that looked pretty cool, was essentially a Dive headset too, but Cardboard is a real worthy addition to this mod if it works with any application.

where is be downloaded it has been taken off google market and aso no where on the net had links to the download as the links are all dead ?
hate it when good software is released and then it just disappears as though it never existed ?????
thanks

3D painting has fetched great advances in the designing era. Within a very short time and easy we can do a visual design by 3D painting.
Hello,
Personally I use SimplyColor3D
ssolidworks and fusion360
i am confused on what you mean by 3d painting?
if you mean 3d printing, I would argue prusa mini or mk3s+
if you mean 3d design and you are looking for the easiest tinkercad.com, onshape.com also has free accounts
fusion360 is advanced, it allows a non commercial free version that allows some editing but not all of the advanced options and a paid commercial version.
Freecad is a standalone cad software that is, free.
Creality ender 3 V2
I usually use the Blender tool
Blender is used a lot in the fields of animation, effects or photo editing in 3D.
