Thanks in advance
Anyone had any luck with netflix

ok apparently netflix needs to update its software to be compatible with the processor in the TF. theyre progressively going through and updating for android device compatibility
I heard that its a terga 2 issue, its a DRM issue
I think we just need to be patient about this.

Not a tegra 2 issue. Works with Gtablet running cyanogen 7.3. Might be a tegra 2 plus honeycomb issue.
Thanks everyone for their reply. So with netflix we have to play the waiting game, sucks! and what about oovoo?

Because I have a Gtablet, which has tegra 2 processors which has been running netflix for over a month. It is using the Cyanogen mod firmware, which is based on Android 2.3, which is gingerbread, not honeycomb. Thus, it seems that there are people (me, myself and I) who have it working with tegra 2 on gingerbread, but not honeycomb. Thus, tegra 2 plus honeycomb = no go. Now, it might just be honeycomb = no go, but is most certainly is not tegra 2 = no go.
oh okaay understand you now, so its just a waiting game, and what do you think about oovoo? would it be the same as netflix a waiting game?
Have you emailed oovoo? I met the devs during SXSW and I made a few suggestions and they were added in an update over the next week.

Is this en-route to get Honeycomb? anyone ever ask the eLocity Support?
Edit: I managed to e-mail them since the support offices were closed. I'll post the response when I receive it.
Official answer you can find at their site...

Q: Can the A7 be upgraded to Honeycomb 3.0?
Due to hardware issues, it is not expected that the operating system of the A7 can be upgraded to Honeycomb.

Maybe on the next generation of them that they are working on. I don't see it being all to successful on the current model.
When do the next models come out, and will they still be 299?
Not sure when they come out. Hell, i still cant find a pre-order for the a10 that was suposedly going to be available for pre-order on the 15th.
Price is definitely going up though. I think there was some pricing covered in a thread on here a couple days ago.

I dont think so, the a7 has all it takes to run HC. If the nook can so can we, multi touch
shouldnt be the decideing factor for not haveing HC on or A7. At least we have a one touch option.

It might be capable of handling Honeycomb 3.0, hopefully the devs can make the upgrade for Elocity A7. They did say it will be upgradable on A10, so cross your fingers and hope A7 gets one either to ginerbread or honeycomb.

It seems as though Netflix is now working on Honeycomb tablets but not on our trusty Transformer, I can confirm Netflix will not stream on the Transformer, could this be because of the recent Asus firmware update? Thoughts ? Link Below (Lets us know if anyone gets it working)

I've tested it and can verify that it does not work on the Transformer also. The app installs, you can open the app, log in to your account, browse movies even, but no video playback; it gives an error.

Does anyone know what that error means? As that something on the device causing it or is it Netflix reading that its not a approved device and throwing an error

Not sure who told you it works on Xoom but I own a Xoom and Netflix doesn't even show up in the Market so I can tell you it DOES NOT work on a stock Xoom runnng Android 3.2. I'm sure it works on a hacked ROM but it will even run on a hacked Viewsonic GTablet...

Unlikely. More likely they're returning us to the status quo by putting out an update to remove the (didn't really work anyway) support for the Transformer (and maybe other models).
So just an FYI, I checked my Market on my Viewsonic GTab and Netflix is there! I downloaded it and I am watching movies right now streaming from Netflix! OMG, the GTab is Android Froyo 2.2! It is a Tegra2 chip but I would never have figured it would work on this legacy tablet before my latest and greatest Transformer and Xoom. LOL

I'm in no rush. Netflix is pissing me off lately. First their crazy price hikes and now they're playing God to which devices can access their services.

Just read the same post... YES!!! Finally! ...the earlier apk for rooted TF101s with patch was awesome for sure, but it's great we're finally getting some official love (and support).
Yes, I also own a Xoom running 3.2 and you can sideload the Netflix app on it and it works fine. I am waiting for it to show up in the Market though so I can get the automatic Netflix updates as opposed to the sideloaded version that you must manually update. Hopefully, the TF will get this working in 3.2... Keeping my fingers crossed...

That requires root and the installation of a patch. I have no time for such things (including messing around with unrooting when then next TF update comes), and so having an official Netflix app will be most welcome.
http://eee.asus.com/en/eeepad/transformer/specification
Theyre claiming Netflix(us only) on their site, so possibly after 3.2
Keeping my fingers crossed. I've held out on rooting this far. Love my transformer and honestly can live without netflix on it, but it would surely be a plus to have it added.

For me it adds an extra component to the transformer that other tablets already have. At this point android is playing catchup to Ipad. (well..everyone is)
They all are, but android has a good chance to get there, but they need to add what competitors offer and then add their own extra spice.
Personally, i have netflix enabled in all my tvs at home, but would love to have it on my TF for road trips. If i stay on a hotel, tether off the phone in the car..it just adds more thrills to an already good device.

It's odd, because it has the same price as the other high end tablet and it was the most popular as i said i considered it a NEXUS tablet, and it will probably not be the second one to receive ICS either, that will be the asus transformer
It's crap because not only wa the xoom branded as a GED ...
... not only did the Android team happily blog that ICS compiles for Xoom right out the gate with no tweaks ...
... not only did team EOS get leaked Chinese drivers to make everything work ...
... Motorola _still_ couldn't be bothered to get the update out in time.
Seriously they lined themselves up to have almost zero work on this port ... and they still blew it.
i also bought the xoom thinking it would be treated differently as it was the first "google tab" i have yet to see any special favoritism towards this device.

test..................
What a shocker Motorola borked an update, I guess they are too busy putting out 3 new phones and tablets every week to be bothered to do updates if google doesn't fix them they are done
I paid more for this thing when other tablets were out just so I didn't have to wait for updates...... Guess I was wrong
For the record the "test" wifi users signed up for last week still has not been released
Or maybe they don't want to look like dicks because Google bought them. Maybe Google want everyone to see that Motorola isn't its bff..... or its just the same old Motorola doing what they do best...nothing. you know what will put a cherry on top? Locking the boot loader.
From the sound of things for the soak test Wifi users were signing up for, Google is in control of the update, which makes sense, since it is a GED after all. It may not be Motorola's choice/decision.

After all, Nvidia can not do so much Tegra2 Rom,.
Rom rely on manufacturers.
Although someone in front of Xoom can not be ported to mobile phones.
But imagine, if Nvidia gave up Tegra2 why there Xoom ICS and 3.0 kernel?
