[Q] how to restore contacts and messages

when i was having 2.1 i did backup and restore of all contacts and messeges..
when i installed custom 2.3, no backup and restore app is there.. how can i get my contacts back??? help...

yes, i have did this... and working nice..

i installed the app.. but after opening it says app locked and can be used on sony ericsson phones only... now what???

I think it only works on 2.2 firmwares, but i'm not sure.. :/

contacts and texts restored.

What the heck? It says it supports only SE phones???!!!
Wow, my SE phone is not SE anymore? I have installed Custom ROM 2.3.3 HACKDROID

for contact simple export - import will work. from contacts menu export your contacts. it will create a .vcf file in sd card. take a backup in your pc. install new rom & then import those contacts in the new rom. its the best & simple process

Does NOT work on racht's Floyo 0.15.

Unlock Secret Menu on Sony Ericsson Xperia X8

Access hidden testing menu on your Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 (E15). This secret service menu allows you to check if your Xperia phone is network locked. Moreover you can check if your phone is permanently blocked or you still can type your unique unlock code!
Just type secret sequence:

on lock screen of your phone.

Maybe it only works with SE Stock Rom.. Maybe, i don't know, it's my guess xD

its working, just lock the screen, and then press the keys.

Don't work on 2.2 or 2.3 because this rom not are Sony Ericsson ROM's

Only stock ROM.

Going back to stock room, just to see the secret menu..... No, I don't think so.

It's servicemenu.apk on stock ROM. However, it probably depends on some other files too because it can't be installed/run on custom ROMs.

Hi I've just purchased new comp with Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. I have used it to flash basebands and roms but when I go to root this option is greyed out, I am using the latest flashtool. Can anyone help please.

I Need HELP!!!
I think I am in a bootloop or may be i am possibly using the wrong term.
I tried installing on of the custom roms found here on XDA for Xperia X8 but i guess i did something wrong in btw now phone come on by itself, shows the "Sony Ericsson" text and waits for about 8sec and then blank off and restarts again. on and on like that its a loop i guess. can anyone please help me out.. All i needed was a 2.2.1 OS on my phone but now i have ended up having none. Please help

If you're using a X10i you better be in the X10 forum...Flashing a X8 rom will definitely render your phone unusable. Here this is the link to the forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=614

I use both x10i and x8 I have successfully gotten my x10i off se hook but my x8 now, its rooted and yet can't run any tethering app on it. It says kernel not supported.
I downloaded the new build that was posted on x8 page asking to just restore using xRecovery but it says md5 error. This. Where I need help cus my x8 carried the internet connection and I wanna share it onto my other devices. Need help again.

You can fix md5-mismatch-errors with a special code in ADB, just search for "md5 mismatch" on Google, on the first site there´ll appear a site from xda.
click it and do what´s mentioned there.
And what new build did you download?
The one with an "A" inside or that one with the "C" inside (it looks like:
2.1.1.A..... or something similar) because most ROMs require the A-build, which you can download and flash with flashtool.
But I don´t get what you mean with "it carried the internet connection".
Please explain it more exactly.

solutions for that:
1) flash the stock ROM using the flashtool
2) Root it again, install busybox, and install this
this will help you to install xrecovery again
3) boot into xrecovery, factory reset / wipe data
4) flash the rom you want~

take out the battery and insert it back after 30 seconds..turn on your phone and press back button when "sony ericsson' pop out..
