[Q] webcam using hd2 android with skype dont work? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

HTCHD2 ultimate droid 3.3
i installed a few webcam apps from market, i set up them in my mobile and in pc, and thei make connection, all should be fine, BUT -
Skype does not see/recognize/find this web cam, no options in skype video section, its as if it wasnt there. Maybe it somekind of driver issue?
Anyone had any experience, or have any idea how to make it work?
(used WO webcam, droidcam, a few more)

I tried using IP Webcam with no luck... It connects, i see the video, and after 2-3sec connection is lost... can't find solution... btw i have regular webcam but i want to make this work

You can use droid cam over wifi, it worked for me.

I have been doing this using orb.
No problem.
You HAVE to be on 3G or Wifi with your phone though, otherwise the connection is too slow.

[Question] Video Stream from IP Webcam to IE/Opera on Blackstone?

Hello Blackstone Community!!!
Has anyone here successfully streamed live video from their IP Webcam to their blackstone using the Internet Explorer and/or Opera web browsers? Please specify if you were using WiFi, GPRS, or 3G connections. What IP Webcam did you purchase!
My application: I would like to purchase a IP Webcam that allows for........
- Pan/Tilt/Zoom
- Bi-Directional Audio Functionality
- Wireless - Wifi and possibily battery operated
- Allows for streaming to multiple web browsers using
WiFi, and GPRS, on my Blackstone ( I live in USA so 3G not an option)
Please provide advice if you can or let me know what technology on the webcam I need to at least satisfy the requirement to allow streaming to windows mobile devices using WiFi, and GPRS connections.
Thank you
Have a look at this thread.

Not so much for the cameras itself, but the application seems very useful.
When I get the time, I'll be having a play.
As for the CCTV itself. Most reputable manufacturers will have units that will meet your purposes. It depends on budget and situation. AXIS are good and cheap, Panasonic are good and midrange. Sony are v. good and expensive. Spec sheets will tell you all you need to know.
There is tonnes of information out there, and many many forum dedicated to CCTV professionals. Go go Google! Probably better than asking here.
I had a little dabble with streaming a web cam to the internet and the best program I came across was a free program called YAWCAM (Yet Another Webcam Software!).
http://www.yawcam.com/
I haven't used it recently, but it is simple to use and I successfully streamed images of our home to my Orange SPV E650 (this too was an HTC smart phone, but rebranded for Orange in the UK).
I reckon on the HD the results should be pretty good. A the time I was using it for monitoring our newly installed cat flap (CATCAM!) to make sure both of our cats were actually using it (one still refuses to!) .
I think if you used this in conjunction with remote desktop, VNC or the like, you should then be able to control the camera too.
Hope this helps...

Can a Touch be used as a wifi remote webcam?

Is it possible to stream video from the Touch camera via wifi to a PC on the same wireless network, i.e. use it as a remote webcam?

You might want to try this
Thanks for this, but it seems to be a program to monitor remote webcams on your PDA - what I need is the reverse, monitor the video from my PDA (Touch/Elf) camera remotely on my PC.

HELP!!!

Hi.
I have a HTC TYTN II, and not get to work with WebCamXP Mobile.I do not know what model of camera he has, and ip.
Can someone help me, and explin how did work?
I'm totaly lost, please?
Thanks.
you missunderstand the purpos of the program I think
it's a program for you to be able to monitor webcams and the likes
on the pda over the internet
not a tool to use with the cam in your device
ateksoft webcam plus does what you are looking for OP
After all, was totally wrong. I thought that the camera delivered the PDA and we saw on the computer.
So ateksoft webcam plus is the best for my PDA???
And just put the ip of my machine to see the computer's webcam??
Thanks.

[Q] Webcam

Any known apps out there that allows me to use my 5.0 megapixel camera as an amazing webcam?? ;p
A month and still no answer? I searched the Market and download some Dr.Hu app, but it never worked for my Moment or my Epic. There must be something out there that is simply a one-touch webcam app.
Droidcam (free app) works great. I use it to connect to my laptop via wifi.
Thanks for the reference, Keith. It works great. Hopefully they get front facing working so I can leave the phone sitting in the dock and use this.
