I have been doing this using orb.
No problem.
You HAVE to be on 3G or Wifi with your phone though, otherwise the connection is too slow.

Wifi Streaming - Strange Problem
I am hoping someone may have come across the same problem as me because I have searched this forum and have not seen anything like this.
I have been trying to access my Music stored on my main PC via the wireless router which is connected to it (Netgear DG834G V3). I am using Pocket Player 3.5 with the new upnp plugin. I am trying to connect my HTC Touch which can connect to the internet via the wifi router no problem and I can also look at shared folders in Pocket player through adding a network folder address. I can play files this way also but the directory structure of my hard disk is long winded and I just wanted to browse the traditional way by artist/album etc..
I have found that Windows Media Player 11 does not recognize the Touch as a Upnp device and when I try and Network share on pocket player nothing happens. I have also tried Resco Explorer and it cannot map the drives also.
Something I found strange though is that I also have a laptop which is also connected to my Wireless router and when I opened WMP11 on the laptop it shared the files on the Touch. I looked at all the Network/Firewall settings etc.. on both the main PC and the laptop and they were almost identical so I cannot understand why my main PC isn't allowing the connection. The only difference is that my PC is wired to the Netgear and the Laptop is connecting through wifi.
If I actually plug the Touch directly into my main PC via the USB cable and close down Active Sync the Touch can suddenly read the WMP11 content on the main PC (although it gives the Touch a different MAC Code) however it will loose it as soon as I disconnect the cable.
Can anyone help! Am I missing something really obvious?
Hi friends
Pardon me if this has been explained elsewhere, I did a search but due to the ubiquitous nature of the search terms, I could not find a plausible solution.
Is it possible for me to access the files in my wireless laptop with b/g connectivity using 1) Imate SP5 with wireless b or 2) over 3g connectivity with my Samsung Blackjack II (no wifi)? I know about Orb etc, but I am more interested in using the native clients for networking rather than install third party apps. Both phones are running WM 6, laptop has Vista Ultimate. Laptop is connected via WiFi WPA to home broadband router.
I am mainly looking to play my mp3 files using the phone via headphones and to play an occasional DVD using the laptop's drive and watching it on the phone.
Thanks for reading

you should be able to connect via wifi or gprs using the built-in file explorer. Try 'menu' 'open path'
You should use Orb to do that. If you are under Vista and you have a TV card, you will even be able to stream DVB-H TV.
Go to www.orb.com
Thanks SToNeD, but as stated in the OP, I do know about Orb and have tried it in the past. I am trying to utilise the inbuilt resources of the phone for an occasional movie/music streaming, rather than running the resource hungry Orb 24/7 in my PC.
Awaiting further suggestions please
Hi
Can anyone tell me how can i use DOPOD818pro as a USB-WIFI to a Windows PC.
I already know about using DOPOD818pro as a WIFI modem for internet from Windows PC.
I know buying a new USB-WIFI & plug in to the WIndows PC, is the easy way.
But is it possible to use DOPOD818pro as a USB-WIFI?
Thanks in advance
PS:
I plan to use a software Remote Disk on a Macbook Air.
Remote Disc lets us wirelessly use or “borrow” the optical drive of a Windows PC in the vicinity.
The Macbook Air have a WIFI IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n compatible.
But my Windows PC do not have a WIFI.
I also would like to know if this is possible. I have a Diamond and would like to use it as a USB WiFi dongle so I can connect my Desktop to my laptop wirelessly. Mainly so I don't have to dig out an Ethernet switch and use cables.

i installed a few webcam apps from market, i set up them in my mobile and in pc, and thei make connection, all should be fine, BUT -
Skype does not see/recognize/find this web cam, no options in skype video section, its as if it wasnt there. Maybe it somekind of driver issue?
Anyone had any experience, or have any idea how to make it work?
(used WO webcam, droidcam, a few more)
I tried using IP Webcam with no luck... It connects, i see the video, and after 2-3sec connection is lost... can't find solution... btw i have regular webcam but i want to make this work
You can use droid cam over wifi, it worked for me.
I recieved my bluetooth dongle today and I am trying to tether my transformer to my PC over bluetooth. However I can not seem to figure out how to do it. Has anyone else done it? When I search for these things I only seem to find only bluetooth to a phone or file transfer between pc and tablet.

What is it you want to achieve over Bluetooth? File transfer? Internet connection sharing? Coffee making? Something else?
Internet connection sharing.
Worked for me on a windows xp netbook but was entirely pointless. The only reason I can think of is to use a 3g dongle for internet access.

I need it because at work we dont have wifi..... so my laptop's connection is the only one that I can attempt to connect my tablet to.
If your laptop does have WiFi, and you're running Windows 7, you could try Connectify.
Regards,
Dave
Connectify works perfectly! Wish I heard of that before getting a bluetooth dongle. However it would still be nice to know if it is possible to get Windows 7 to share the internet connection over bluetooth. From looking at some old forums it was in there in some of the early releases along with the wifi hotspot.... Good thing I only need it at the office. Thanks guys.
