Eclipse DDMS & A500 - Acer Iconia A500

Hey guys, has anyone been able to get DDMS on Eclipse to recognise their A500 tablets?
Been very difficult to get stack traces of crashed apps without it.
P.S. I forgot to mention that this is on a Mac.

Yes, DDMS is working with my A500 on a Mac with Galileo.

[Q] Development with Mac OSX

I am running Mac OSX and I´m up to get a A500 to develop and test applications on the device.
Acer doesn´t provide any drivers for OSX, so the question is if i need them for adb to recognize the device.
No, you don't need Acer's drivers to develop on OSX.

App inventor on the Transformer

Hi !
Someone has tried App Inventor on the Transformer?
just want to know, im interesed on android development.
I just installed it on my G2x running Gingerbread. I'm not sure about Honeycomb.
The process was pretty simple. I think you just needed drivers installed. I had no problem. I don't think you will either but perhaps someone could give a more solid answer
Just tried this myself, and would be interested to know if anybody else has gotten it working. I'm on Windows 7 64-bit, and have the Asus USB driver installed. (The Transformer shows in Device Manager as ASUS Android Composite ADB Interface, under ASUS Android Devices.)
I have USB debugging and Stay awake checked on the tablet under Applications :: Development, and I have App Inventor installed and working. When I click to Open the Blocks Editor, it opens correctly, but when I click "Connect to Device", the dropdown just says "No available devices".
...and that's where I'm stuck. Any suggestions gratefully accepted. ;-)
It works...kind of. I have it running with Ubuntu Linux, but haven't figured out how to make it work full screen. As far as not being recognized by block editor, make sure you have adb running properly. After I got that working right, the rest did too...

[Q] usb2serial

Hello all,
I want to apologize if this has been posted already but I have searched and cannot find an actual answer.
I would like to use my iconia to connect to device serial Ports for configuration purposes. I am running taboonay and have the right kernel modules loaded because I can see my usb2serial device under dmesg. What I am missing is the software interface to communicate with the port like putty or hyperterminal.
I have downloaded several apps from the market with no luck.
Any suggestions?
Acer a500
Taboonay 2.0
2.6.36.4
Thanks
what are you trying to configure? Maybe I can help
I do work on enterprise storage systems. Many times when I need to set up a new system, I have to log into the system via serial to configure the initial IP and hostname.
Thanks for the reply.
microcom
I use microcom which was included in busybox. From the terminal, as root, try "busybox microcom /dev/ttyUSB0". Replace ttyUSB0 with whatever device you get in dmesg.

Don't know if it would help, but worth a try.

Many thanks to all who responded...
microcom worked like a charm.

[Q] Problem installing Linux on Iconia (/dev/mmcblk0p7)

13/01 I was trying to install ubuntu on my Iconia, after updated my bootloader to V8 again. The first problem I had is that most of the files are offline now and I can't try all the options that users oferes.
I want to make it work without external-SD, 'cause I haven't got one now. I used this post to install it, but i get several problems when it is running.
There're some pictures of the error code, if someone can help me to enjoy Linux (Ubuntu if it's possible) on my Iconia I will be eternally thankful!
Thanks for advance!
