I charged my Acer to 100%, rebooted and disconnected it and I haven't touched it in 10 days. (been playing with the Flyer)
Well it's now at 6% and so far 10 days 3 hours 12 minutes on battery...
It's been on airplane mode and wireless on.
Anyone else get the same results?
How you turn on your airplane mode and wireless mode at the same time?

On most Android devices, you can switch on WiFi whilst the device is in airplane mode.

I tried it , you are right. I have 1 more question, what is the difference if your tablet don't have 3g, but you turn on wireless and airplane mode.
Sent from my A500 using Tapatalk
I completely agree. I DON'T keep it on airplane mode but that ****'ll stay in idle for 3-4 days if I don't touch....also with wifi on. I am pleased.
Same here, I was just thinking how crazy the idle battery life is. Mine was last charged on Thursday and I hadn't touched it since. I just now checked it, 82%!!!

You have some kind of problem this is not normal. Today was a very light day for me on use but still after over 14 hours at 60%. And that included over 1 hour of calls.
Toggle airplane mode for a few seconds and plug in briefly. Check the battery manager after a few minutes and see what cell standby is at. It should be less than 10%
You should be getting around 24 hours of normal use out of the battery

Wow, what settings are yours on to get 24 hrs? Is it best to have it on smart mode or battery saver mode. I thought it would be battery saver mode and that what i have mine set on.
Also, does anyone know if beautiful widgets drain the battery? It was a complain on one of the comments on the market but i dont know if an update fixed it.

i have been browsing so many different forums for the past 2 weeks and trying to see if anyone talked about specific things with the battery so i figured heres a good thread to ask my question......i got another battery sent to me from verizon and it seems to be doing a little better than the first one....i know all about not using task killers and i have no widgets at all...gps is off...screen brightness is almost all the way down....my phone will last anywhere from 5-6 hours all the way up to 30 hours.....i mainly use the X as a device...not ever really on the phone...so when i go into battery use and click on display it shows me how long the display has been on total....so i figure the time shown there is pretty much how long my battery lasts because when im doing anything with the phone the screen is on.....i think the longest i have gotten has been a total of 4 hours with the screen on...if i unplug my phone with a full charge and use it a lot it will be dead in about 5 hours...with the screen being on for 4 of those hours....if i spead out the usage i can get 30 hours on a charge but it is still only 4 hours with the display actually on....sry if thats all confusing just trying to see if thats normal...a lot of people talk about heavy usage but they never say how long the display as been on...so let me know the total your display can be on for average on a full charge....thanks a lot
when I browsed for like 4 hours (screen on 4 hours) my batteyr would go down to around 30%
I havent tested with froyo yet
I referenced this in another thread about battery life (as someone else posted earlier) but it happened to me again when I updated to Froyo. Battery life was draining fast. Look at Cell standby. If it says 50% you need to toggle airplane mode and possibly reboot. Then refresh your stats. I did that again after updating to Froyo, now 8 hours after charge I am at 70%. Wifi, Bluetooth, gps on, Screen set to auto, etc.
Check that Cell Standby.
I was having a similar problem to this until I read a thread about recalibrating your battery.
While your phone is on, charge the battery all the way to full.
Unplug your phone, turn it off, and recharge it back to full.
Unplug it again and boot the phone
Once it fully boots, turn it off, plug it back in, and charge to full.
Unplug the phone, boot into recovery, and clear the cache.
Boot back into the phone normally and see how it works.
I did this earlier in the morning. Right now I'm at 70% with 8.5hr use.
I thought this only worked for htc devices
Also, I tried it and after you charge to full while on, you unplug it and turn it off and then plug it back in while off, nothing happens..light doesn't come on and neither does the CHARGING screen you see when you plug it in after batt dies...
So how did u get the trick to work after u fully charged it while on? Did your charging screen come on when you plugged it in while off?
Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
I did the recalibration trick. Still crappy battery. I'm down to about 40 percent after about 4 hours.

Just like the title says, I was really hoping this would be fixed by now so we could have better battery life.
Pretty rediculous this wasn't fixed months ago.
I have this issue sometimes so I put the phone in airplane mode, take it out of airplane mode and plug it in again.
After I unplug it it's usually fixed, but I do find it annoying so I always check that first when I unplug it.

I have found that this TWS bug has had no effect on battery life since di18. I get the same battery life with or without the airplane mode workaround.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
I don't, with 3G on I lose about 3-6% battery life an hour but with the phone in airplane mode I lose 1% an hour. I realize that with the radio on it should use more battery but that's a big difference. I have an airvana in my room so I have full service.

The airplane mode workaround others are describing isn't to STAY in airplane mode, it's to quickly switch it on and then back off again. It seems to fix the TWS to more believable levels, but if mattallica76 is right then it's just a reporting error and not something that actually affects battery life. I honestly don't know if he is or not as I've never tested it and I'm not sure if anyone else has either.
I don't think the difference in battery loss in your case really says anything. Depending on how you're using your phone, a 2-5% jump in usage per hour with the radio on versus completely off (airplane mode) is to be expected. You've got to realize that when you put the phone in airplane mode you're shutting off ALL cellular connections, wi-fi, bluetooth, and GPS in addition to just 3G.
on the new 10.1 2014 should I completly shut it down for overnite or just put it in sleep mode....... much battery difference??

I'm planning on just plugging it in every night like my other devices. I use my tablet a lot every day though. With light use I could imagine only needing to do it every other night.
I charge mine overnight but I am constantly using it.
I don't think it's necessary to turn it off. It should drain very little battery when the screen is off

Hello, post your battery.stats
Help grow this thread by sharing your battery stats:
1) On battery time
2) Screen on time
3) Usage patterns
4) ROM/Root tweaks (if any)
P.S. - Make sure you vote in the poll to give other prospective buyers an idea of how the user experience has been with battery life.
Here's my first battery cycle.
5hrs 20mins SOT with 20% to spare.
Mixed usage. A few light games, lots of Facebook, Whatsapp, Snapchat, Instagram, XDA. Includes a lot of installing of apps on a slow WiFi network. Very pleased

I don't have Wi-Fi in my home, so I surf on internet only with 4g and at night I always turn off my phone, because the battery drain is caused also for inactive process like "Facebook" or "Instagram". So, if you want to leave your phone turned on, kill all before sleep

Hi, it must be an app keeping the phone awake too much. Root the phone and install wakelock detector to see what's causing it. Its not WiFi or LTE that would be the cause alone unless you have the weakest signal known to man.
550 mAh here too... really low considering the battery.

I know you don't know me, but I've used your AICP ROM on my 1st gen G. So you made the jump to the 3rd gen? Good. I don't have it yet, but will be getting it and in the mean time I'm watching these forums. Good to see you're over here and I'm sure others will be as well, from the 1st gen.

Rooted and flashed xposed, then installed Amplify and Greenify. Battery life has been stellar. I'm getting north of 5 hours screen on time with navigation, bluetooth music streaming, and watching videos.

Is yours 1GB/8GB version? Mine is 2GB/16GB and output is 1150mA. Essentially it is the same charger that came with Moto X (2014).

When you sleep, does your phone sleep, or does it stay up all night and crunch 1s and 0s? Rate this thread to express how you deem the speed at which the 's battery drains under standby conditions. A higher rating indicates that when the phone is not in use, the battery drains minimally.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Battery hardly goes down in standby
I'm not so sure, the OnePlus would drop 3-4 percent overnight and would be showing signs of Doze working. The mate 20 Pro stays awake even if the phone is not touched the whole time loose about 10 percent overnight

I am thinking that it happens if you have the on screen fingerprint set up and the smart thing that waits for you to move the phone or touch the screen. If you turn it off it should help.

I noticed after turning off app launch, my overnight standby drain is 0%. I'll monitor again.
Used my mate20 all of yesterday, went to bed with about 50%. Woken up this morning to 47%. Never have I ever had a phone I could consider not charging for the second day. I have an opportunity to test the 40w charger and see how quickly I can top it up.

At 100% there is an overcharge - 100%-99% lasts as long as 80-75%. What if you left your device off charge for the night without charging?
I charge in the morning for 30-40 mins and leave overnight at 25 wake up with 15-17.
I woke up last night and used my phone so my result is skewed I will try again tonight (and not to wake up lol)

So from 2250 to 0650 I had drain of 6% or ~252mah. Power saver and ultra power saver turned off.
For reference 6% on the one of 6 is 198mah and 4% which is the drain I get on my OnePlus 6 is 132mah. So almost double the battery drain on the mate 20 pro
I wonder if the big cores still kick in during sleep. This is a 7nm chip, my assumption is that only the four Cortex-A55 cores should run during sleep.
I use timely alarm clock and setting that as an app on ultra power save mode it didn't go off yesterday.
I can try power save mode tonight, as a last resort I could turn it off and schedule on 1 hour before alarm

Yeah, when it was on I got 7/8% drain in the same period
I guess more of a question that a straight answer: What kind of battery improvement do you see when
- switching to FHD+ over QHD+
- darker theme, animations off
- manual app power management & launch
- VoLTE & High Speed LTE mode turned off
- fingerprint reader off (I guess hover-over-screen function drains?)
- Bluetooth, other antennae off
- removing/freezing whatever unused stock app (like Health) possible
- alternate launcher, battery saving apps
I 4 percent battery drain over night in 8 hours. Per saving off, Bluetooth on, Wi-Fi on, mobile data on. Quite good, I think.
