I wanted to know about the audio quality when using headphones. I currently use sennheiser ie8 on my galaxy s phone which has a very good dac. I can't use my nook color to liste to audio because of static. I wanted to know how good the dac is in the tab/ is there any noticeable static?

I don't recall this with my original Droid, but is anyone else having poor Pandora quality, even with the high quality setting turned on?
EDIT: Now that I've played with it I've realized it's all music coming through the headphones, although the speaker doesn't seem to be as bad. The treble quality is really poor. I've doublechecked the same mp3 / headphones on my laptop and it plays back fine.
Even playing with the equalizer settings, it still seems pretty bad.
Did you check the higher quality music setting in the menu?

Is there any software or anything to increase audio gain in these devices? I'm using the stock ROM and when I plug a cable from my car into my headphone jack on it the sound doesn't get hardly loud at all. The volume is all the way up on the Transformer and yet my iPod is a lot louder than it is. Would using bluetooth be any better? My car doesn't have bluetooth but they sell a module just didn't know if it would. :/

Thanks! I'll give it a try tomorrow. Also I don't really know much about audio but would bluetooth be any better (quality wise) than using the headphone jack, or would there be no significant difference in that respect?
I have apps called "Equalizer" and "DSPManager" and they each seem to do the trick. Is there any advantage to one or the other (including Volume+ as well) though?

Hi guys,
Is there any word about apt-x codec support on teh galaxy note?
Also, I've used bluetooth headset about 4 years ago and there was always a noise in the background while nothing was being played plus lots of delays on the audio (nokia N82 plus nokia BH-601 headphone)
With an good expensive headphone like the sennheiser mm 550 should I expect the same problem?
Thanks!
Note doesnt support apt-x. Still a lot of background noise in my case.

do you have delay as well during video playing?
What kinf of headphone do you use?
Just wondering..... The headphone jack on the bottom of the Nexus 7, does it support a microphone also?
If so..... what is your recommendation for ear buds and microphone combination that will plug into the jack?

Yes it does, and I've used both Ultimate Ears 500vi and Klipsch s4a with my N7. Both are mid-range ($50+), but they both had fantastic sound quality and microphone quality. If you're an audiophile though or plan on using them for music as well, the Klipsch provide clearer/more defined sound. Klipsch also has an Android app available to customize the reactions to various clicks of the built-in button on the headphones.

I attempted to use my cheap Skullcandy headphones which have a mic, but I don't think they worked. I'll have to try again in a more controlled scenario.

Which is funny since it would appear that the Nexus 7 does not have mic support via the jack after all.

It works fine for me with apple headphones.

Good stuff, but the headphone jack does not support a mic, so the mic your are using is the mic built into the top of the N7.

I use to have a Samsung Captivate Glide and it was perfect the way i had it, i disabled all other music eq's and stuff and enabled the one i had in ZPlayer and it bangs, but now i don't get any of that on my S4 and im using the same headphones SONY MDR-XB90EX Extra Bass Headphones and i tried Putting the bass up and i get no bass boost and i know if it works because i can feel the bass working in my headphones does anyone know how to work around this?
If you are rooted then try installing acid audio. I am using it and bass is incredible. You can also try noozoxide pro from playstore.
