I'm looking for one free root explorer
Any ideas are welcome ? Android or not
This is the dev forum, I'd check out the app forum.
Sure but isn't it for dev
I use Super Manager. Is pretty cool and for free. Don't forget the to activate the root-checkbox in the settings to access the system folders.
Regards,
Andy
File expert is a free root explorer!

Now that I'm rooted, I'd like to start up a thread where users can name their top 10 apps where it requires root, I'm sure there are others that have just rooted and would like to see what they've been missing.
Here is mine so far:
ShootMe
Titanium Backup
MyBackup Pro + Root = Awesome!
ShootMe
Market Enabler/Access
Barnacle wifi tether
Ninjamorph
whats so good about ninjamorph
Mine are:
Adfree
Busybox
MyBackupPro
Root Explorer
SuperUser
Titanium Backup
xRecovery
Adfree, TitaniumBackup pro, root explorer and cache mate for root are the essentials.

root explorer works without root
Mugur

Font changer
Flashlight haha

titanium backup
barnacle wifi tether
root explorer
ad free
still thinking on some more
continuing : setCPU, terminal emulator, cachemate
Type fresh - to change your fonts
Root explorer -for editing system files
Reboot widget - does what you'd expect it to do!
And you don't need root for flashlight!

it is true, root explorer also works without root the phone! but not operates at 100 x 100! cmq remains one of the applications required to have and use. http://www.appbrain.com/app/root-explorer-(file-manager)/com.speedsoftware.rootexplorer

Either buy it or use a free alternative. Stop ripping off developers. Also, read XDA rules regarding warez

Please don't encourage warez. A few dollars for a good app is well worth it and will not impact one's budget in any way unless you go on a mass app buying spree.
If you legitimately cannot afford it, there are plenty of great free alternatives

Which rom are u using. To access system partition on NAND, or if the rom requires ext partition, then obviously the apps will be on sd card if it requires ext.So you need root access. Try it with root explorer app.
Which Root explorer and root manager are you using? Care to share the link, please? Thanks

I was trying to find it in the Market but the Market app installed in ny Arc shows only free apps. Btw, I have a rooted Arc. Is that the reason why? Thanks for responding to my query! ;-)

I also see the free apps only and dont see the paid i guess maybe because there is no market for the region we are in.
So I don't like the original My Files apk I used Miui ROM for some time and I really liked it's user experience because it was very organized .. All files was organized by categories and with one click I could access all my documents files ..music .. Apk files it was very easy too use and very easy to manage files from sdcard
Is there any apk that has this functions... Where files are organized by type..?

Try "File Expert" the best file manager out there (in my opinion) . Has tabs as well.

ASTRO is a really good File Manager. But, i don't think there is any app, which categorises the apps, other than miui file manager.
"File Expert" GUI has recently been updated an has the categories you wanted as well.
Try efile...

very good file manager for me.It has everything root managing and etc.
the new version of astro is very good and free. try it
Root Explorer and Astro are both powerful tools. They may not have that fancy look (especially RE) but they're unmatched at getting their job done.

Yeah, i prefer RE infact, especially since Astro got more bloated
Also a tip.. if you long press on astro file manager and select detail.. you can see the md5 Checker.
For root explorer long press on the file and select properties you going to see it...just a tip

Adaway is the best!
Ad away and former adfree user ad away is going good.

open up this zip.
take the file 'hosts', copy it to your phone directory '/system/etc/' replacing the original using a root level file explorer.
you just manually ad-blocked your phone.
Download FDroid.apk (google it cuz I can't post links yet lol)
Search for AdAway from the app. I'll manage the hosts file for you and is very frequently updated.
