Can someone clarify this for me or provide a link where I can read up on this topic?
I currently have a dual-boot system with MAGLDR bootloader, WP7 on NAND and several Android ROMs running from SD. Now, if you look at the MAGLDR menu, the first 3 options are:
1. Boot WHP
2. Boot AD SD
3. Boot AD NAND
Options 1 and 2 are clear enough. However, the fact that there's an option to boot Android from NAND (option 3) makes me think you could have both WP7 and Android on NAND. Is this true? And if it isn't and you can have only one, why not just have a Boot NAND option to have whichever OS is there boot up?
ADDITIONAL QUESTION on the first post of page 2. Thank you.
Maybe it boots in a specific way for wp7 and android. Also there is not enough space on nand for both.

Because you can set MAGLDR to not autoboot an OS, but to load at the MAGLDR screen. So if you had Android on the nand and selected boot whp, you wouldn't get anywhere, hence the boot ad nand option.
This belongs in Q & A anyhow.
Ah, so the answer is NO, you cannot have both OS's on NAND. Thanks.
Which sd build do you use? I fancy trying the dual boot, as I keep getting bored. Bit fed up of these builds being released everyday with next to nothing improved from the day before.

no,you cant,on NAND you can have only one ROM or wp or android, that option is "ON" when you have android on nand
This is a question topic and common sense dictates that this should be posted in the Q&A forum. This forum is for developers and developments only, not for people to post question topics and clutter the place.
It's directly related to NAND development, but I absolutely no problem with a mod moving it... Especially now that it's been answered.
Need assistance please
Sorry, i missplaced this question, redirecting it to QA thread
I have another question related to this and, instead of starting a brand new thread, I figured I'd resurrect this thread of mine from a week ago in order to avoid clutter.
So I now know I cannot have both WP7 and Android on NAND. How about having an Android ROM on NAND and one or more Android ROM's on SD? I currently have several Android ROM's on SD and WP7 on NAND, but wonder if I can still have a dual- (tri-, quad-, ...) boot system even if it's all Android, one ROM on NAND and the rest on SD.
** BUMP **
No answer. This is exactly why I posted this in the development section first. This is more of a NAND/SD development question than it is Q&A.
Yes you can have all Android all the time if that's what tickles your pickle. Same process as dual booting WP7 (minus the stupid SD card formatting WP7 does). I'm assuming you'll still have to partition your SD card for each build, only this time all of them will be fat32.

Can someone post a detailed step by step guide on how to get a NAND android rom fully working on are hd2's?
1. download MAGLDR
2. download NAND Android ROM of choice.
3. Install MAGLDR on your HTC HD2 ( run ROMUpdateUtility.exe)
4. Boot HD2 and select in the menu "4. USB Flasher"(by scrolling down using the volume down key and selecting with the phone button)
5. Run ANDR_INSTALL.exe on your computer.
6. Wait while it does its thing.
7.Let it Reboot. enjoy.
And as I found out the hard way, you need HSPL 2.08 too !
Anyone know if it's possible to flash 2 Android builds to NAND? I installed the sense build by Cotulla. How would I go about trying the CM 6.1 w/o overwriting my current build?
Hi,
I read earlier that magldr would make it possible to boot WinMO from NAND and boot into Android from storage card. Tha's what I want (for now) since I'm still experimenting with Android and think I need WinMo to fallback when I ****up things.
Anyone already figured out how to do that?
TIA,
Cheers,
/Cacti

You do need a ROM which is for NAND....
The ROM's available thus far, are for running off the SD Card via Haret !

I'm using: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=857261 at the moment because I only get a 3-8ma drain using it as a Australian mate suggested it but gah, I'll switch if any NAND ROMs only have 3-8ma.
Should I use NAND Stock or Desire HD then? I wanna switch to NAND ASAP.
somone said that you need to have 2.08 hspl wich i have but waht about radio and windows mo requirements??

I agree, a sticky by one of the more experienced members in the near future would be very helpful, especially emphasizing the proper preparations and prerequisites. Because of all the hype and down right excitement and enthusiasm with Nand based Android, there's a ton of questions, information overload, and threads way too long to go through. A definite need for a one stop covers all type of sticky imho. If someone would be so kind, it would be greatly appreciated.

Now that Nand is out for Android/HTC 2, I have a few questions. Right now my Android build running off sim card works perfectly so I'm debating Nand.
1. With the Nand bootloader, will we eventually be able to use it to run Windows Phone 7 if it gets ported. Basically I'm curious if by installing Android on the Nand if we are losing the ability to run other OSes
2. Can we ever go back to the stock HTC rom once we install android nand? I'm sure your wondering why in the world would I want to do that, but its a nice safeguard to always be able to go back to the rom you got the phone with.
3. What is the closest Nand build you think to the Froyostone Desire rom sim build?
Thanks
When you flash oryginal HTC rom with RUU you delete android nand all magldr...
So you can back to stock rom whenever you want...
Task29 removes Magldr and android so that you can flash any rom you wish

Under my expirience with kaisers, NAND can be partitioned, and magdlr theoretically can make and load multiple partitions, cotulla mentioned it:
"Future developerment:
*planned to add Haret's startup.txt support for Android SD
*planned to add support of Android boot images (zImage + initrd.gz in raw file)
*fast boot support (?)
*support of fixed partitions layout with ability to reflash any partition
*WM65 NAND boot with any rom (?)
*WM65 NAND boot with special designed roms for MAGLDR boot.
*support of WPH NAND boot"
Thanks for your replies, I think I'm going to wait a few weeks as the roms get updated (I know I've seen alot of g sensor forum posts) I think its exciting we finally have this option and that we can still go back to stock if necessary.

Hello everyone. I have a few questions from a noob. Ok, here's the situation, I have an HD2 that I used to update regularly when i had winmo 6.5. ran android sd for a while, then switched to an MDJ nand months ago. havent messed with it much since. i want to update the rom to a more current one, but obviously alot has changed. anyway, on to the questions...
1. how do i get to the magldr main menu/boot screen/thing? the screen where you select to boot android sd, android nand, play tetris, etc. i just updated to 1.13.
2. i never made any EXT partitions on my sd card...do i HAVE to do this and if so, what is the easiest way?
thanks for you help! please be gentle, i know that the answers are probably in a thread somewhere, but i searched for the magldr and had no luck

You get to the magldr boot thing by holding down the power button while you turn the phone on until you get the screen, dunno about the easiest way to partition as I never have done, why do you want to partition anyways, do you plan on dual booting?
ah, ok. finally got to the boot screen. tried the hold power button down trick before but it didnt work. did this time.
i dont plan on dual booting, just read some things that said that I need to have special ext partitions set up to get app2sd+ to work
Cwm can partition your card, but be sure and back up cos it will be wiped. If you have a tmous you don't need ext, but for a reg Leo it is almost a must.
Hello everyone,
I bought an HTC HD2 a few days ago, (not a new one) And it was installed with UltimateDroid, I don't really like this version, and Sense doesn't work on it, so I was wondering if I can delete it, and how.
And if I delete it, Will my phone automatically run Windows mobile?
I'm new to this and this is my first time with android and htc, So I don't know anything about it.
Hope someone can help..
You have to flash a new rom using AD Recovery Tool
Easiest thing for you to do would be to start from scratch or follow this guide. You shouldn't need to do step 1 and you will already have the prerequisites. This is for Android, not WinMo.
For WinMo, download a ROM and flash it from bootloader. See the Windows Mobile dev stickies for detailed instructions (you will be able to ignore the HSPL part.)

What do you want in stead of UltimateDroid?
Android with sense, or WM6.5?
We need to know this in order to give you proper help.
I personally recommend Android, WM6.5 is a dying OS...

Dual boot is possible, WinMo on NAND, Android from SD, you can even have Ubuntu Linux on SD at the same time for triple boot.
To wipe data if you plan on going back to Windows Mobile on NAND, just flash a Windows Mobile ROM at the tri-color bootloader screen (boot the device up while holding the vol - key)
If you have Android on NAND, and want to keep Android but just want to wipe data, there's an option for that in CWM Recovery.
If you have WinMo on NAND, and just want to do a data wipe/factory reset, power on while holding both volume keys and follow the on-screen prompt
If you want to format your NAND memory, there is a tool called task 29, but it's not necessary.
If you're asking whether you can run both Windows Mobile and Android from NAND, no. It's one or the other

Sorry for the late reply, I want Android with sense! I have no experience with flashing roms etc. Never done anything like it before.
OK really first do you have magLDR or cLK ... when you turn on phone does it immediately go to boot screen or do you see some running script followed by 1,2,3,4,5,6 ... go go go!
if you have go go go the simply go to the Dev forums find a rom with (magLDR) in the title and follow instructions. they almost have a link to the best recovery to use with their rom.
if you boot straight up like a native android, or you can charge your phone when its turned off you have cLK ... to the dev forums and look for (cLK) in title and again follow instructions and get to it.

It says the 1,2,3,4,5,6.. go go go! thing, but I can also choose to go to boot screen, which gives me all kinds of numbers with flash rom and stuff.
But thanks, I'll have a look!
Hi guys,
I bought a HTC HD2 from Ebay and it had Android NexusHD-2-Gingerbread V3.0 NAND already on it. But I want to put NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.3-CM9 V1.2 on it now and I couldnt find a complete tutorial on how to do it most tutorials just explain certain parts e.g. installing clockworkmod, MAGLDR etc.
So do I have to factory reset the phone and then put ICS on it or can i just upgrade it?
Thanks in advance.
Maybe read at first this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948
I start allways with task29, install magldr (or clk), recovery with 5/200/5 (for Rom you want to install).
Make backup your SD-card and to partition the right way (with 1gb ext3 or ext4)
Afterwards copy the ROM zip to your sd card and install.
This is only a short way to go ahead with Android Rom flashing.
More detailed tutorials you will find .
If you stuck on some point, let us know..

CLK worked better for me i recommend it
clk makes ur phone more native like but there are plenty of guides available and there is also an hd2 bible in the development section.
