Hello,
I'm from belgium and my wife has a samsung i5500 using proximus as gsm operator.
Yesterday, she got a message about a MMS sent to here, which she couldn't receive.
I started to search how i have to configure the phone to be able to receive MMS.
I found i have to set 2 APN's, one for internet and one for MMS.
Because my wife doesn't have a special data agreement, it is very expensive when she is using internet on her phone.
Because of this, i didn't want to set the internet-settings, just the mms-settings.
When i want to send a mms, it fails.
Do i really need to set these internet apn-settings if i only want to send and receive MMS?
If yes, is it really using a data-connection over internet for sending or receiving a mms?
Greetings from someone who is afraid the GSM operator will become richer on his back.

I want to use EzWAP2.5 but i cannot get the settings for Telstra (AU) to allow me to Recieve/Send MMS messages. I would also like to obtain the settings for Optus (AU) as my fiance has a o2 on Optus. If anyone can help us, that would be good.
Why don't you call telstra 1800636785 for MMS & GPRS setting?
My eng is bad so I waitting for you to get the answer and post it there
The best thing would be to call Telstra so they can send the setting via SMS and you can install it on your phone!
For optus, go to the following link and enter your phone model and number and they send the sms to your phone! So you could try that

Hi everyone,
I am trying to find an MMS app that I can use to send MMS messages.
My network is Telus, and so I have the P4000 version which does not do MMS. Also, I have never had a phone that could do MMS so I don't quite understand how it works. It seems that mms is actually an email address, I assume same technology as sms but via the use of an email address attached to the phone somehow?
Which leads me to the questions a) it possible to use MMS say over Wifi? b) is there an app that you prefer?
I noticed youtube has an MMS upload feature and would like to try it out.
Thanks!

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I have searched using various phrases and keywords but couldn't find anything.
I have tried enabling MMS on my Kaiser for Vodafone UK Contract phones. I have followed a guide I found on the Vodafone eForum (http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=8038&hl=MMS+HTC) plus similar guides I found elsewhere. It all looks good, however when I attempt to send an MMS is starts - GPRS connection gets connected and the message sends as far as 99% and then fails and constantly retries. I also cannot receive MMS messages, I just get a text message saying I have received a picture message and it gives me a URL (http://www.vodafone.co.uk/getmyphoto) and a password. I have been through the troubleshooting guide on Vodafones website but it wasn't any help. It has just occured to me that it may be a feature that needs enabling on my Vodafone account. So does anyone know if this is the case or should it just work?
yes it does
that and the correct network setup have to be
added to the phone and mms composer

OK. So tomorrow I should phone Vodafone customer services on 191 and ask whether MMS is enabled?
I can send regular msgs and my apn settings are correct as I am actually writing this from my magic. I made sure my mobile data was on when sending an mms because you obviously cannot send from WiFi although that would be awesome. But at this point I would just like to send a simple mms. I have an unlocked Rogers Magic on AT&T with fatality 1.4 on it.
A lot of us have the same problem, though we are UK Vodafone customers. I've been told by them that you need to ring up and ask them to 'activate' mms on your account. That seems to sort it for us, not sure if it will help you out as your on a different carrier but maybe worth a call to customer services?

Do you have MMS APN settings? Your data connection runs through a different APN so it working doesn't mean your MMS will.
Hi I’m new to the forum so forgive me if this is in the wrong place .Anyway I’ve got an expera x10 and the wife’s got an htc Hero we live in South Africa and are on the same network Vodacom(Vodafone) both of us can send and receive MMS with friends and family which include LG’s, Nokia’s and BB .Now here’s the strange part i can get mms’s from the Hero to my x10 but when i send an mms to the hero from the x10 all you get is an download icon and all it downloads is a grey screen. I searched the web but couldn’t find anything related. As usual nobody at Vodacom have a clue what’s going on and I wonder if someone out there can help please ???????
Not really too sure about the technical details of the X10 and the Hero. But can it be the MMS size? I know some handsets are limited to downloading a maximum size of 300kb.
Have you tried sending a smaller MMS?
Just tested sending a camera photo from the X10 to a Hero and it worked. Both handsets were on the same network.
So it shouldn't be a handset issue. Could be a network issue. By the way, the MMS size limitation can also be controlled by the network.
I posted about my MMS problem & some others memners as well, we didn't get any answer
I can't send or recieve MMS with X10. Yess, MMS settings are installed & every time i installed MMS-settings, i can send or recieve just 1 MMS. Trying sending more or recieving, mobile keep sending or downloading in many hours but MMS is being never sent or recieved
Since you are able to send/receive one MMS message successfully, then it's not a problem with your settings. I'm assuming that "MMS & data" are enabled and your APN is set correctly.
When you say that any more MMS are never being sent or received, is this fixed by restarting the handset? Or have you never been able to send any more MMS since the first one?
Unfortunately, so far there are only two options:
1) Reset/Reinstall the handset and hope for the best. If this doesn't fix the problem, then the problem should be with the network provider.
2) Contact your operator. They should be able to trace the MMS message and the error log in their MMSC.
Sorry if that's not of any help.
