Hi everyone.
After finally deciding to take the plunge to go for NAND install, over sd (which has been working fine apart from slow wake up) I have tried to get TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 ROM installed. I have followed instructions precisely with the Clean Installation guide he linked to.
So
- I have run task29
- Installed Radio Leo 2.15.50.14
- Installed MAGLDR with MAGLDR113_DAF
- Installed Install CWM (ClockworkMod Recovery) Recovery_150M_system_5M_cache[v3.0.2.5]
Now when I start MAGLDR, I get the error message nand kernal open failed.
I can continue as instructed to ClockworkMod Recovery, and when I try to select option “mount USB storage”, I get the "unable to write to ums lunfile".
Now I admit when I first tried this, I left my sd card in my card reader, so I started again from step 1.
Am I supposed to of installed a separate kernal somewhere, before installing MAGLDR? I presumed that would be included in above steps.
sdcard has been formatted to FAT32 in a single partition.
Please help
Thanks
I think the problem was not holding down the power button completely when rebooting and also not just ignoring the error messages and trying to load the rom from zip. All appears to be working. Maybe those observations could be added to guides? Unless it's just me being a bit dim.

Hello guys!
I don't know what to do anymore...
I used to have wm6.5 Hyperdroid1.7(sd) dualboot, but it began to freeze very often to the point where i could't boot it anymore. Since I had hspl2.08 allready installed, I decided to give the relatively new TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 v2.5.2
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933951)
a try.
Long story short, I had lots of problems with the connection but finally made it to
task29: done (used doloops exe)
radio: 2.15.50.14 done
magldr: 1.13 done
ClockworkMod Recovery v1.3 135M System/44M Cache:
installed with DAF.exe
but when I selected 'AD recovery' in magldr it came up with the
1FATAL HIT 1 error. (worked one time when I left the battery out for 25 min, but never again)
So I decided to do everything over again, task29 etc ....
Some problems occured where I had to plug out the phone because it got
stuck in flashing process of task29/radio/magldr.
And now, nothing works, I can flash radio and magldr, but it does'n seem to affect anything. When I boot I just see just the white htc screen.
Tried to flash stock HTC-wm6.5-rom (with both bootloaders) but it gets stuck @ 8% and gives the wrong comand error.
So please help me, 2 days without a phone (so far ...)
daniel
U UNPLUGGED IT!
Try a task29 .. just a task29 with a compatible radio
Once its done go into the bootloader.. if you get this far flash MAGLDR
If and once MAGLDR boots up then your good to go with Android NAND/SD or WP7
Okay,
I task29'ed it with the 2.15... radio and it seemed to work again.
But I flashed with a nand android and when I booted again:
Booting Android from NAND
ANDROID LOAD at numbers
yaffs2 part is /boot
Load zImage
Load initrd.gz
[K] .. numbers
Load done!
1EFATAL HIT 1
*stuck*
may be relevant:
when I flashed the android it did not reboot automatically.
so i pressed the red reset button on the back.

That's an android nand issue..prob kernel related... since you used the DFT android flasher it should've restarted... either try again with the same rom or different rom OR use clockwork recovery... i personally use CWM recovery.. since it has more options like installing from zip and backup/restore entire nand build to the sdcard
also note magldr mass storage .. some people say it corrupts transfer so to safe use card reader just incase when transfering
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
Ok lets try this Remove your SD card Save only necessary files that you need to your computer. Next Format the SD card leave it out.
I would erase the task 29 and MAGLDR and partition and ROM files from your computer and reinstall (possible file corruption)
Do a Task 29
Install MAGLDR 1.13
Once you install MAGLDR let phone reboot and hold power button to boot into MAGLDR
Choose option 5 and load your partition
Next reboot into MAGLDR again and got to option 8 you will want to find wipe data/factory reset and also wipe dalvik cache.
Now if you are flashing via CWM you should have the build on the SD card so now is the time to put SD card back in and reboot into MAGLDR you can then flash the rom. If you are flashing DFT put card back in reboot phone and enter bootloader and flash DFT.
Hope you get it working please read carefully...pm if you are really stuck.
The ONLY thing you are going to flash via MAGLDR option five is your partition...Did you flash the radio via MAGLDR if so that may be your problem?
If that dont work try this:
Try and use a task29 tool provided here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...3&postcount=19 . Extract it and run it properly ( with phone in bootloader mode ) and perform the task 29. Then flash a radio version which you can find it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787 . ( I suggest 2.15 )
My suggestion is to go to bootloader-tricoloured screen ( NOT Magldr ). Flash a good radio version and afterwards go back to tricoloured screen of the bootloader in order to flash a Windows Mobile ROM ( preferably a STOCK one ). Forget about NAND ROMs until you will be sure what your problem is.

Today I downloaded the Nexus HD2-Gingerbread V2.8 and moved it to my SD card, I then went in to MANGDLR and to AD Recovery>Install Zip From SD Card>Choose ZIP From SD then selected the zip file. Everything loaded fine but when I restarted it sat on the green "HTC" screen for over 30min so I decided to wipe everything by reinstalling stock WinMo 6.5 then started from scratch with re-installing MANGDLR and ClockWorkMod then tried again and got the same result. Any Ideas?

Yes, it's really important what CWM partition you use. You should post those info's when asking, which makes it easier to answer your question

a) Do task29
b) Install MAGLDR
c) Install correct CWM partition
d) properly format your sd card (sdformatter full>overwrite with size adjustment)
e) partition card with CWM (if needed)
f) copy rom zip over and flash.
Sorry
What I meant to say is I was upgrading from V2.7 to V2.8. I ended up re-flashing V2.7 then rebooting back into MANGDLR and then flashing V2.8 and it worked. Trial and error I guess. What do you guys think it could have been?

Okay so after researching this issue online and seeing that the common fix is reformatting the SD card and partitioning I recalled an article about Windows Phone 7 locking up SD cards so that they were unusable to any other device. They were taking advantage of what Secure Digital was designed for. People were trying to reformat cards using computers running Windows and Linux and other devices but nothing worked. Eventually someone remembered that Nokia still gives their devices full SD permissions and formatting the SD card with a Nokia device fixed the SD card and allowed it to be used in another device. I decided that if it could do that maybe my Nokia N8 could solve my SD issues too. So instead of going through the lengthy processes I was seeing online I popped the SD card into my N8 and formatted, it worked like a charm. So although Nokia has disappointed me time and time again they do some things right, thank you Nokia.

Hi,
It seems that you have done everything correctly.
Did you transfer the ROM to your card by cable or card reader?
Try putting the ROM on to your card by card reader, and re-installing the ROM.

Hi, thx for replying. I tried to transfer the zip file by the magldr mass storage but it keeps hanging. I had to flash to the stock rom to transfer the zip file. i re-installed 3 times and finally gave up.
After installing the MAGLDR 150MB System/5MB Cache (ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.2.5), i used the boot android from sd and it could not locate the initrd and zimage. after putting those file into the card, i was able install it. But failed to load the kernel thingy.
Thanks
Wrong thread.

I would recommend searching the forum for a thread specifically for [25.JUN.11][MAG/cLK]TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 Nightly v3.4.0[2.3.4][A2SD][tytung r10], seeing as this thread is specifically for [28.June.2011][MAG/cLK] NexusHD2-Gingerbread V2.8 [GRJ22/Android2.3.4][K: tytung_r10]. You might want to try the NexusHD2-Gingerbread V2.8 ROM it is flawless . Here is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060
Hi
I have a big problem and don't know what is wrong
I was using ultimate droid on nand on my hd2,than i decided to flash shiftpda rom v33 from boyPPC and the problems started. i installed it from my sd card using cwm and when phone rebooted first time magldr said something about missing kernel file. then i tried to flash it again, did task 29 several times, installed magldr and everything again. but it kept saying about missing kernel file. and when i try to install it again cwm says 'installation aborted'. so i decided to flash it from pc with daf.exe. installation was successfull, but phone just reboots over and over again... looks like it will never stop rebooting. dont know what to do please help...
can it be due to wrong radio?

Can you explain the exact steps you made to install this Rom?
well i will explain what am i'm doing right now. i run task 29 and installed radio 2.15.50.14. after that i installed mgldr 1.13. and on mgldr booting screen it said "sd open kernel failed". after that mgldr menu appears. then i choose usb flasher and install rom from the computer. it says installation successful and phone reboots. after that i see mgldr booting screen and everything looks just fine, then i see HTC screen and phone reboots again...and again and again and again. if i will just put the phone on the table it will just keep rebooting forever ((( am i doing anything wrong? i shouldnt because its not the first rom i am installing...and what does that "sd open kernel failed" message mean??? (
1) First of all, boot into MAGLDR and go to services (option 10). Go to boot settings, Boot source and make sure Android from Nand is selected.
2) Unzip the Boyppc v33 package on your computer and install his CWR DAF package that is included with the rom (The boot loops could be due to having the wrong CWR partition)
3) Load CWR and manually wipe data/factory reset, Go into advanced and wipe Dalvik Cache. Once this is done try and reinstall the V33 zip that you said you had already copied to your SD card. Hope this solves the problem
I've had the same problem twice now. "sd open kernel failed" i believe is shown in red correct? all i did to fix it was reflash MAGLDR & Clockworkmod Recovery then reflash the ROM.
i wish i knew why it happened but its always when im going from 1 ROM to the next & not just restarting my phone up. im thinking maybe it was just a bad flash or something but the steps above has fixed it for me now both times.
try to install recovery and intall a ron throught ur sd card ... rom that r instaleed from daf r pretty simple but maybe the rom was corrumpted during the download or there's a missing file that's not flashed to ur phone ... i suggest to install recovery and to copy ur rom to sd ...it's much simple than the first way
Hi,
I am pretty new in this. Tried to flash my HD2 to an Android ROM today, but got stuck on the installation part from SD (install ZIP from SD).
When the HD2 is booting I get the CWM-based Recovery screen V4.0.1.4
When I select "install ZIP from sdcard" i select the ZIP on the sdcard.
Install starts and i get the screen "Have fun with DUNGPHP's ROMS"
Processing system, please wait. After a while the installation is automatically aborted with the errormessage:
E:Error in /sdcard/DHD_3.06.405.1_Sense_3.0_v1.3_EU.zip
(Status 0)
Installation aborted.
What is going wrong?
The steps I followed:
1. I flashed the cLK loader and Recovery
2. I installed the google usb driver on my pc to connect to phone
3. I did run fast_resize.bat from cLK folder
4. I did run fastboot_install_recory.bat from the cLK folder
5. I followed the installationsteps on my phone for installing the ROM.
Before all this I did flash the latest HSPL and Radio.
What I noticed, is when i boot the device and get the cLK screen (with options boot recovery, boot sboot etc.) i see in the header "RADIO-UNKNOWN" allthough i flashed Radio 2.15.50.14.
What can be wrong? Hope someone can help me..please
Thanks!
Regards,
Edwin

id try redownload the file again.
Also, you didnt use magldr to copy the file to sd did you? it doesnt handle large files well. Either use cwm sd transfer or use a card reader.
I've tried 2 ROM's, both with the same error.
I also copied the ROM's (ZIP) on the SD directly with my laptops SD-slot.
Any clue what can be wrong?
Edwin
Tried more things. I used several SD cards, results are all the same, error during installation.
I tried to install 2 ROM's:
- Desire_S_sense3.5_Android.2.3.4_v1.3_EU.zip
- DHD_3.06.405.1_Sense_3.0_v1.3_EU.zip
Both ROM's gave the same error during installation "error in ZIP", and on both my SD cards.
I downloaded a different ROM, CMYLXGOs.Stock.Desire.HD.v1.0.7n.NAND.RMNET.NO-SQUASH-MDJ.S10.4OC_CWM.zip.
That one was installed successful. But after rebooting system, the recovery mode was still coming up.Selecting normal boot gave an error, there was no loader.
I am really stuck now, hope someone can help me.
Edwin
Man try doing a hard restore I think something went wrong in your process of installing cwr not in your process of installing rom . Install cwr again and than try again. It should work !!!
Click thanks if I helped you.
Hi.
My friend has HTC HD2 and we wanted to flash CWM and new nadroid.
The phone has already HSPL 2.08, MAGLDR 1.13 and radio 15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14.
In the phone there is android (Android 2.2, kernel 2.6.32.15 dirty cotulla, software number 2.29.405.5).
phone (in info): HTC Desire A8181
I tried flash CWM 150MB but:
1.) DAF doesn't work for me (error init USB). So I tried andr_install.exe, it worked and phone was connected
, but then it show message:
PARTITION LAYOUT NEW
Do you want to preserve data?
Press POWER to save it
Press GREEN to clear it
Press VOLDOWN to abandon flashing
I tried abandon flashing and I get error (something like can't clear partition)
We want to flash HyperDroid CM7.
So My question is, did I make something wrong?
Must I make repartition of MAGLDR befor flash CWM or CM?
I would to try HD2 NAND toolkit, but I looked, that it use also DAF.
I would try a full wipe (task29) in HD2 Toolkit.
But if it not work, we will have cleaned phone
Can I do this?
Repartition of MAGLDR to 150MB, catch 44MB.
Run CWM from SD card.
Install CWM from SD card to NAND (recovery_5.0.2.6_leo_CWR.zip)?
When you repartition, it installs cwm too.
Use the nand toolkit, put phone into magldr USB flasher, in nand toolkit select tye size you want, clik 'reaprtition' bottom left, hey presto partitions created and cwm installed. If you get connection errors click download drivers. (Alternate means of getting the correct drivers are - install 'myphoneexplorer ((also good cos it syncs with outlook)) or install the android sdk (Google for android USB drivers).
The reason you got the errors trying to flash cwm in post 1 is because the old method used to install your original rom doesn't create a recovery partition, so there's nowhere for cwm to install.
OK I will try it
I have already google drivers (from ADB)+HTC drivers (I have EVO 3D)+I installed windows mobile device center.
But andr_install.exe worked, so I hope that toolkit will work too
Thank you!
Android reflashed!
It worked really well, thank you!
