Hello,
I'm currently running Hyperdroid CM7 2.1.0 with radio 2.15.50.14. I've been receiving complaints about my call quality for quite some time now. Some people describe it as ''standing in a bathroom'' and others as ''standing near a busy street'' when neither is the case. This is not a new issue, I've had it with all android ROMs I've tried so far.
People can barely make out what I'm saying. I've tried reinstalling the ROM as well as deleting default.acdb in etc/firmware (suggestion from some other threads I found). Sadly, neither resolved the issue. Found some other threads where people had this issue and they all fixed it by installing rom [x] and following some specific steps. The roms mentioned in these threads haven't been updated since '10 so I'm not very inclined to try those.
Anyone have any ideas that could possibly help?
Thank you for your time.
Edit: Fixed! Copied the files mentioned in this thread to system/etc/firmware and I'm no longer experiencing any issues!

I am sorry if it has been asked before but I got no results when searching.
Lately I started having problems during phonecalls where I can hear my own voice and it's really very very annoying. Only solution is to reboot but then again it's back.
Is this a common problem or it's only me? ROM 1.66 with latest official Radio.
Bump :/
Your not the only one to mention it.

Hi. I've tried to install a few new roms to my device but after installing it i couldn't hear any voice in my ear when i was calling and the other person also couldn't hear me. After pressing the end call button the phone almost everytime frozen and i had to take out and put back the battery. Could you please help me with this problem?
Thanks
Hi, although you haven't said what ROM's you are talking about some ROM's require a radio update too. Could this be the case? It's probably better posting your issue in the custom ROM section.
i've noticed the same thing (so far i've tried only Energy ROMs)
i think ill be reverting to the original ROM soon
at a guess i'd say it was a radio issue, check out the radio thread in the roms section and upgrade to a newer one i.e 2.08 and this should solve the problem
So far I'm really enjoying the 2.1 via a standard RUU flash. Only problem I've seen (or rather heard) is audio dropping out on the phone completely until I restarted it. I saw a thread about it but it's not clear in there what people think causes it and if there's a fix/workaround that'll work with the Sprint 2.1 RUU and not a custom ROM. Any ideas? Appreciate it.
Check the thread on Audio Fix Final. It wont let me post the link since I am new.
(forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=657244)
I installed this and have not had a problem with audio since..
However, You need to root your phone again since you have flashed the RUU. The directions are in one of these threads. Or you can check Androidcentral. There is a fix outlined there.
I have tried every combination of rom + radio suggested and none has worked for me. I then found a thread saying it was a problem with the kernel.
Does anyone know if there is a fix in the pipeline for this?? If it even is a problem in the kernel.
Or is there some radio+rom combination i have not tried?
please someone help i would like to use android all the time, as it is i have to keep rebooting to make a phone call

Why don't you just wait? It seems like everybody's forgotten that Android is still in development.
Save your time and effort figuring out which combo may be the best for Android just to find out that WinMo is still more reliable in everyday use and that you just screwed your WinMo config for nothing more than an Android alpha, which just won't work the way you'd like it to do.
That's the way I look at things.
SOLVED!!
Latest zImage solves this problem so anyone wanting to know how to fix this...
download latest zImage from cotulla (cotulla.pp.ru/leo/Android/Cotulla_zImage_VOLUME_SR_AUD.rar)
extract zImage and copy to SD card overwriting the one already present, also keep an eye out for your particular port's author updating their work. They will most likely include this and possibly some other fixes.
alright so, ive basically tried almost 10 different builds, none of them work.
ive installed a new rom, reinstalled the hspl3, after my numerous times of reformatting my sd and installing a new build, it just wouldnt start...finally android worked again...but...sound is still robot like...
also internet doesnt work (i know with rogers i can only get edge but i have wifi so it doesnt really matter the odd time that im away from a wifi zone)
please help,
ive read through threads and found nothing that helps, most people just tell you to try a new build...
doesnt work...
What Radio version are you using?
i do not know, i have the hd2 tmus version
Chances are then if you haven't physically changed the radio then it's incompatible with Android, as evidenced by the robot like voices. Go check the sticky rollup thread in the other android forum here (Android Development) and there is a list of links near the bottom of the first post that will link you to various resources. One of those will be radios, flash that onto your HD2, and try again. I use 2.12.50 and my voice clarity is perfect.
Do you know that it probably took you longer to type this than to open almost ANY android build thread and read the first post or 2!!!
CLRCAD: will only enable sound. It does NOT get rid of robotic voices.
Robotic voices are caused by the WINDOWS ROM you have installed. The ROM has to have 2.10 audio drivers for these voices to go away.
READ READ READ!
Feel free to try the ROM/build in my sig. Make sure your radio is *.*.50.* and NOT *.*.51.*
I'm feeling in a generous mood tonight, so here ya go: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787 that is the radio thread.
thank you i shall check this out
