i know his roms all ways had GREAT battery life
What is the latest bakedsnak rom?
Is it version 1.8 thats listed on his site? Or is there something newer in the forum that I cannot access?
1.8 is the current version but he typically gives access to the beta/test version of the upcoming releases to donators a few days early. That whole thing has caused many arguments (which I have occasionally been sucked into) here so he doesn't maintain a thread here anymore.
For my part, I do use his ROMs and find them to be excellent. I just run the latest public release but I'm sure if I ever got impatient or antsy I would toss him $5 to support his work and site and get a sneak preview of the new versions a few days ahead of the rest.

If anybody's wondering, I have Baked 1.8 running on my evo right now. Battery life is unreal. Charged it right before i went to sleep and then left it unplugged overnight for about 8 hours and it was still at 100% when I woke up. Using the kernal that comes with the rom and no setcpu and am getting 54 fps in fps2d with 1.98 dev and about mid 1400s in quadrant. Coming from Evio's latest and I think I'm gonna stay with Baked for a while as the battery and benchmarks are easily better with Baked imo.
You can get Baked Snacks off of ROM Manager. Just download and enjoy.

Because anyone who mentions money on XDA is branded as the anti-Christ by people who have donate buttons next to their user names.......
Edit: .......and hated on by a bunch of members who expect everything for free so they cry when favoritism is shown towards people that give back instead of just take.
wow dug up an old thread here. lol
yeah BS did the whole linking to his site thing which is frowned upon to an extent, on top of req membership n paying him to get access to his betas.
Which in all honesty is what other devs do just so they dont have a million ppl reporting bugs to them at once during betas.
But whats done is done and it doesn't look like hell ever be back at this point i guess.

It's horrible but true!
Our beloved N1 losed the biggest devs:
-Paulobrien left several months ago
-Evil shows up very rarely
-Micromod sold his N1 so no more updates
-Rodriguez ''disapeared'' since january
Only a few devs are still here but the ''big heads'' left
No more Desire or Desire HD to N1 ports?
Oh the sweet times when we used to have incredible roms every 2 days and we didn't know what to choose...
It is a sad and inevitable decline. But at least we have Cyanogenmod. If the N1 lost support for that, i'd probably get a new phone. We look pretty safe for a good while now though.
Makes me sad cause I still don't wanna leave the nexus one:-(. What else is worth it? The nexus s ROM support hasn't really exploded yet, so I dunno where else I'd go.
I don't know about you.. but I've never had the need to try anything else than CyanogenMod, so I can't really say I'll miss or worry about the other devs being gone.
Paulobrien,Evil and Micromod were the ones who ported Desire roms into N1, without them we are stuck to ''plain'' roms
Desire HD port need some works and I doubt someone will port Desire gingerbread to N1
Desire ROMs are in decline - because nobody is interested enough to finesse them, but GB ROMs are crawling from under every corner - because it's new and fun. Even though they're mostly beta-quality - because everyone is waiting for the official GB update.
When GB will be on Desire, and only then, you'll see if there is any development. Right now there's nothing to develop.
You have lot people waiting for a faster and more stable Desire HD rom
But as I said the only one to really work on it is Evil, other devs are just cooking MIUI and CM7 instead of porting something new
You forget one of the best dev's in the list, Enomther.
Enomther has always been rare
Perhaps he's waiting for official gingerbread release before doing his new rom,he's very carefull

Took the words out of my mouth. Did a new worthwhile phone come out this past month or something? I suspect (as someone else mentioned), most are just waiting for Google to finally release GB. I myself have been bouncing around MIUI, and GB ROMs. Now I'm back to stock with a blackbar theme and I'm pretty peachy. Long live the Nexus One!
There is a lull simply because 2.3 isn't out. Look how the dev section exploded with the OTA for froyo. Once 2.3 hits I'm sure it'll heat up again

Your post reminds me of that old saying "the calm before the storm" lol. And yes this is true, the mytouch 3G I switched from went pretty dead after being stuck on 1.6 forever and once an "official" release of 2.1 let out, devs trickled back in and it heated up again, I think once 2.3 officially drops for the N1 that it is gonna start a firey oven of optimized tastey roms.. Personally I think the devs are just bored of 2.2 and want to play with something new and 2.3 just isn't in a good enough standing right now for them to attempt to "optimize" it..

Wait for at minimum 1 week from today to even consider a rom. We are getting official froyo on Monday. Literally ANYTHING built on top of official Froyo will be better than this leaked froyo business. I suggest updating her to official stock froyo when it is released, and then coming back in a month or so and checking out what the coolest kernel is that is available, since that affects battery life much more than slight rom adjustments.
I agree. If we really are getting froyo Monday then no.need to update to dk28. Just wait a little bit.

How do you know we are getting the official Froyo on Monday. Hasnt there been solid release dates before and flopped?
Sprint has never been behind the previous release dates. Sprint finally has a date for this update on their dealer's website.
I suggest midNIGHT.

Pfft a month? I give it until this time Tomorrow to see most ROMs up to speed with EB13, and a week or two before we see some mature custom kernels.
(Based on us having the update tomorrow)
I suggest Epic Experience. Ive tried others and had problems with all of them. Epic Experience ran the smoothest for me and is fairly close to stock. The others seem to be more about 'pushing the envelope and that will usually produce more bugs.
I'll personally be trying ACS though as soon as they get a froyo rom.

I was just at the sprint store and they were bummed about having to open all the epic's to update them. They figured that this Froyo has sprint ID. So I would skip the ota if I were you.

Also agree. Let TSM get their hands on it first
After running stock for a few days (during that whole ZOMG my 3G is gone fiasco) I was about ready to throw it out the window.
After a whole days worth of prepubescent tantrums. I don't want to touch this. I think I'd rather rock Adryn's froyo SC than a P3 GB leak. Haha.
If owners were going to release anyways then i'm sure its all about where the credit goes. That's why P3 released IMO. I am glad, however, that he chose the side of advancing the android os rather than holding grudges.
I don't flash any ROM anymore that isn't deodexed (theme-able), debloated (though I do like the TW video player and Media Hub), and de-Binged (though I still find Bing to be useful, that doesn't mean I want it built into my ROM). Therefore, like some of you have already said, I will wait until it's released as a custom ROM by Nitro, TSM, or one of the other devs who have worked on the Fascinate for more than a week or two.
[EDIT]: Oh, yeah, forgot to mention - I am also going to wait for a voodoo kernel (actually I forgot that this would install a new kernel). That looks to be a much longer wait than for someone to de-B it (deodex, debloat, de-Bing) it, since, as I understand, no kernel source has been leaked. It took a couple of months, as I recall, after the DL30 leak, for a Froyo voodoo kernel to be released. That was because no kernel source had been leaked, only the functional ROM build. The voodoo kernel was based on the official ED01 release after Samsung posted the kernel source.
Another Fascinating post by my XDA app...
Save yourselves the trouble and do not flash until there is a less buggy and de binged version. At the very least we know that there is a Fully Functional GB rom on Verizon for the Fascinate.
I am very surprised. I didn't think samsung would develop gingerbread this fast. They took almost a year to put out froyo then 2 months later we have gb.

EC09 is the build number, meaning most likely that a second dev team was working on GB while froyo was being finished up.

Actually, this is an old engineering build. I heard about it a while back, just never got to see it.
I wonder how long till we get an OTA of Gingerbread?
I would imagine it will be a little while. Verizon is notorious for continually pushing things back, and I don't see why this OTA would be any different.
What exactly is so great about gingerbread?
Anyone else out there excited about this fantastic news and are just trying to wait patiently for it?!?!
What made you originally go to the Frozen Roms?
How have they helped you?
What are your opinions?!?!

Ehh, what news?
And have been waiting for 1.3 for months now. They may as well just hold out for official release of Gingerbread and convert their work done-to-date to that new build.

Sure we have been waiting a while, but it will be worth it, and who knows how long we may wait for GB, ya know? Plus personally I think EC05 is the most stable build to work with and the newest so that's probably why. Although it would be great if we could see SFR for Gingerbread... whenever that happens, not counting on it though, I'm just happy with SRF 1.2 right now waiting for 1.3 lol.

Jrojas Via Tapatalk
SRF 1.3 is in the works, I know that for a fact. JohnCorleone has been testing, and chris41g has taken over Mystery's job.
Be patient. Right now, there are many great roms out there. Not trying to hate on SRF, but it's not any better than some roms we already have. Take the iPhone for example. It's popular because of the name, but there are many other phones better than it.
Same thing with SRF. It's popular because of the name, but there are so many froyo roms that are just as good, if not better, than it.
I understand you're excited for 1.3, but it's not going to bring anything revolutionary for the Epic. I'm sure there will be more tweaks, new kernel, and new theming, but that doesn't mean it'll be the best.
I apologize if I brought you down in any way or made SRF sound bad. It's still one of my favorite roms and I am looking forward to 1.3 but in the mean time, try out the ones we have now.
Also, seeing you only have 3 posts here, welcome to the Epic 4G XDA community. Once again, sorry if I scared you a bit

ERA AOSP v4 ftw!!!
I've used them all, and I'd have to say, IRA Rebirth is on my phone atm is it's running better than it EVER has, hands down. I've never had a ROM increase my battery life, but it is noticeably better.
It's worth a whirl. That said, I'll be rolling 1.3 when it hits, and will go from there.
