I'm using a HTC Magic,
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A ENG S-OFF H
HBOOT - 1.76.2007 (SAPP10000)
CPLD - 12
RADIO - 6.35.10.18
recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.5.2H and a CursorSense32A-1.2.4.
Can anyone help, and tell me if based on this specifications, I have at least one chance to upgrade to another custom ROM, like smoki, cyanogen (with or without Sense UI), etc...and how tot do that? I've tried the "search" function, but I'm blocked somewhere, so please, anybody help me? I know, I'm a noob...
I have the same as you (except recovery) and I am using
CM7(2.3.4) you can find it here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011384
You will need to change your recovery as stated in the OP.
Let me know if you need any specific help.
Thank you very much Sleepy for your answer. I need all the directions you can give me.
That is because I dont wanna brick my phone. You need patience with me, very specific
instructions, verifyed link, etc...but at the very end, I'll send you a big, big THANK YOU.
I notice that here is another custom ROM pretty much compatible
with my specs, but anyway I need help from someone with experience.
I'm open, it doesn't matter what ROM I should use, Clockworkmod or smoki...
I just need specific instructions to do that. I noticed in both cases I need to
change radio...so you think you can help me?
Once again, thank you!
Later edit:
I managed to update my radio to 6.35.16.19 to be on Clockworkmod requirements, but
how to do the rest?
You need to be able to use fastboot to flash the clockwork recovery. I am on my phone now so I can't find the links very easily right now. But there is a sticky thread either here or in the dream section on how to use and get fastboot setup.
Basically you need to boot into fastboot (hold back while you power on). Connect your phone to your pc. Download clockwork recovery and unzip the img file to your pc's folder that has fastboot. Open a command prompt on your pc and go to the folder that has fastboot. Then the command is fastboot flash recovery clockwork.img
Then reboot to recovery and flash the rom like normal.
Let me know if you need more help and I will try to get to my pc and get all of the links etc.
Sent from my Dream/Sapphire using XDA Premium App
I'm like a pain in the ass...Yes, I need more specific directions, but...I found this
"Clockworkmod-Carz-recovery-v3.1.0.1-05-23-2011.zip". Is that all I need?
Or after that I need another ".img"? I think, if you have little more time and of course,
if you want to help me, please go to your PC and get me al the instructions and links...
I don't know, whatever I need to finish this "headache"...Thank's again!
Do you have fastboot working?
"Clockworkmod-Carz-recovery-v3.1.0.1-05-23-2011.zip" is the recovery that you need, unzip it and it will contain an .img file. Place that img where your fastboot is located (usually C:\AndroidSDK\tools).
Boot your phone into the boot loader (back + power on)
Open a command prompt on your pc and go to C:\AndroidSDK\tools
Then type fastboot flash recovery clockwork.img
Then just reboot into the recovery, wipe/factory reset (this will delete all your apps and settings) then flash the rom.
Let me know where you need help.

In fact, what I don't understand is "then flash the rom". Sorry, with? Another "img", or what? This is the reason I asked for help from you.
Can you provide me those two "img", if there are two, or three, of course...
I'm pretty sure that you're not happy with such a noob that I am, but...please.
Okay, first "ïmg" is called "Clockworkmod-Carz-recovery-v3.0.2.8-05-23-2011", but
the second one? The "ROM" who I need to flash at the final? Wich one is it?
Oh sorry.
In the thread download "update-cm-CyanogenCARZ-7.1.0-05232011-6355Sapphire"
put it on your sd card (don't unzip it).
in recovery select "install zip from sdcard"
select "choose zip from sdcard"
select update-cm-CyanogenCARZ-7.1.0-05232011-6355Sapphire.zip
then select yes and wait until it finishes.
If you want gmail, market etc... you also need to download gapps it's in the op look for gapps if you see New Nightlies you went to far, its just above that.
After the rom finishes installing, do the same steps as above and select the gapps zip file this time.
Once it's done just reboot and wait. It could take a while.
So to sum it up you need 1 .img file and that is the recovery needs to be updated with fastboot
Then 1 zip that is the rom, it is installed with the recovery
Then 1 last zip that is gapps (google applications). it is installed the same as the rom.
Don't worry about being a noob, I was there once
Let me know if you have any other questions, no big deal.
Finally, I've done it! Thank's Sleepy2, you're the man. Anyway, I missed something
from CursorDroid I've had, it's called "HTC Sense Weather Widget", a very beautiful and usefull application.
I already get the HTC Sense Weather Widget.rar but I haven't found any references how to push the ".apk and .obex",
there are inside that .rar file into the system. Do you have any knowledge about that?
I also don't know if the ROM CyanogenCARZ-7 is compatible with Live wallpapers. Do you know something about that?
Finally and very important is, I don't have "Google Maps", even if I installed "gapps" that you've mentioned before.
Can you help me again, or much better said, can you continue help me?
Thanks again!
The Sense Weather widget wont work (I don't think) you need as sense rom for that (the sense frame work isn't in this rom). Try some other weather widgets.
Live wallpapes work however the magic doesn't really have enough ram to keep them running, they keep disappearing.
Do you have the market app? Just download the latest one from the market.
Thank you very much for your help! I've had the Market app, but I don't know the
reason why I couldn't find Google Maps. However, I found the Google Maps.apk on
other site. Once again, thank you!
I would download Google Maps from the Market, that way it will update when it is available.
I've tried with Opera Mini too, I've found it, but for no reason, the install didn't
worked. That was before I've downloaded from another site. This is the reason
for searching the .apk file.
Can you tell me if you have same issue that I have with Gallery or 3D Galery in carz CM7?
Seems that I cannot zoom in/out a photo with two fingers. It is normal or it's a bug?

did you try to load rom in the recovery img? This also happened to me (triangle with the android guy) and I thought I couldnt flash custom roms. For some reason the regular reboot to recovery mode gives me the triangle of death as you call it.
I got around this by loading in into bootloader mode then going to my command console, getting to my skd tools folder, and then typing
fastboot boot (whatever recovery img you used)
Then everything worked perfectly.
They are going to move this to General....
You did not follow the steps correctly it sounds.
Did you Load Amon Ras Recovery?
IF YES,
GO into Recovery
WIPE data
Flash Cyanogen's Latest ROM
Flash Google Apps available on Cyanogen's front page Post
In future ALWAYS nandroid Backup...
If you did not load Amon Ra's Recovery, you should go do this from fastboot.
I'll try to explain it to you:
1. The Bootloader is unlocked (you see the open lock at the first screen)? If you don't see the lock this is the first you should do or send it directly in for repair!
2. Then you have to flash the Recovery ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611829) This you need to flash an update.zip Exact instalation guide is in the Link.
3. The ROM. If you want Stock then here you'll find it as an update.zip: http://android.modaco.com/content/g...-online-kitchen-optional-root-insecure-himem/
Choose one without includet Radio ROM!!! (See below why!)
4. Copy the ROM to your SD Card Root
5. Go into Recovery ROM (Vol Down with Power and then select recovery with the Volume button). There you select wipe and choose the first entry there (wipe data and cache)
6. Stay in Recovery ROM and selct Flash from update.zip and select the update.zip. Wait until everything is done and you are promted to reset your N1.
(DON'T MESS AROUND WITH THE RADIO ROM IF YOU DON'T KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE DOING. DON'T UNDERSTAND ME WRONG, I THINK YOU HAVE NO GLIMPS WHAT YOU ARE DOING SO BETTER LEAVE THE RADIO ROM ALONE!!! YOU MAY BRICK (DESTROY) YOUR PHONE WITH IT!!! If you dont believe: http://android.modaco.com/content/g...odaco-com/303716/nexus-cannot-on-after-flash/)
7. There should be no 7. Everything should be fine by now.
Hope I could help.

@ Buck Shot, this is a development forum... threads with question shud go in the general forum... these are making the development forum a mess....
Hi,
i'm new in the android world and i'm confused.
i just got an used nexus one.
the old owner unlock the bootloader but did'nt root it.
when i got it, i try to delete all the information from the old owner.
so i thought that rooting the N1 will erase all data and give me some advantage.
(one the iphone world jailbreak was fast and easy)
so i take this tutorial (sorry can't post link, google "[Complete guide with Images] Unlock Bootloader and Root Google Nexus One [Mac, Windows, Linux]" first link)
and follow it
i start just after "superboot" because the bootloader was already unlock
the problème is that my N1 don't boot anymore (after step 6)
i try to "clear storage"
but the problème is still there
i don't know much about android but i'm willing to learn
if you have any tutorial or any other help i'll apreciate
PS: i'm on mac
thanks
You need to install the SDK - or the adb drivers at least. Might as well just install the SDK - you'll need adb and fastboot commands etc at some stage.
http://www.99bits.com/2010/12/how-to-setup-adb-on-mac/
My guess is you've flashed a version of superboot that's not compatible with the build that was installed.
Still, all is (almost) never lost with these. I would download the FRG83 system image from http://developer.HTC.com and extract the system & boot images from it. Flash these and you should be working again.
Instead of using superboot to root, flash a custom recovery & use that to root.
Thanks a lot for the fast reply.
I follow the advice of kam187 and download the SDK, the only problem with ADB is the last step of the tutorial, when i type "adb devices" in the terminal, i got a "command not found" (my n1 is connected and on, stock to the X screen)
i do all the step exactly as told in the tuto.
(exept step 8 and 9, my n1 is not booting, i know that usb debugging was one when i got it, but don't know for connection type)
i guess i'll have to use the SDK to flash a custom recovery
do you have any other tuto for that? (i'm new to the android world)
again, thanks a lot for the answer
Turn on USB debugging in the application development settings.
is "application development settings" the same as "android SDK and AVD manager" ?
if so, i don't find any usb debugging setting.
if it's one my N1, it's not booting, so i can't turn it on
if it's anywhere else, where?
thx
Oh ****, of course. It's on the N1. Stupid beer.
You'll want fastboot for flashing like I originally said.
Can you get into the bootloader? Hold down the trackball and press power. If you get a white screen with Androids on skateboards, good.
I think your most direct way to a fresh install of stock Android is to use a PASSIMG.ZIP. This should work as long as your bootloader works. If you have an SLCD Nexus One, don't try to downgrade HBOOT or to flash an earlier build than FRF91.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
yes i can boot into the bootloader,
a stock android will be good.
i just want it to work for now.
cmstlist you talk about PASSIMG.ZIP, where can i fond it and how can i use it?
like i say, i'm new to android and don't know much.
do you have any link's to a good noob tutorial that explain how to flash an nexus one?
PS: i don't know if i have an SLCD Nexus One, it come from videotron in montreal (quebec, canada)
Okay so if it's a Videotron N1, it's 100% definitely SLCD.
Since you can't boot into the device, you'll need to access the microSD card using an external reader, or any other means you can find to write a file to the card. Download the following ROM:
http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...le_WWE_2.16.1700.1_FRG33_MFG_Shipment_ROM.zip
Copy the file to the root of your MicroSD card and rename it PASSIMG.zip (case-sensitive). Be careful that it's truly named PASSIMG.zip and not PASSIMG.zip.zip (if you're on Windows sometimes it hides file extensions). Put the card back in the phone and enter bootloader mode. If you're on the Fastboot screen, then press Power to select Bootloader. Now you'll be on the HBOOT screen. Wait about 10 seconds and the phone will check automatically for PASSIMG.zip. When it finds the file, it will automatically unpack and ask you if you want to install the ROM. Follow the instructions and give it some time. When it's done, you'll boot into a fresh stock FRG33 build.
From here you can set up the phone, and once you've connected to data or wifi you'll probably be prompted about OTA updates - eventually ending up on FRG83D. If you'd like to root in the future you have many options (especially since your bootloader is already unlocked), but I'm sure your priority is just to have a working phone =)
thanks a lot cmstlist for the explication
i'm downloading it right now
i just download "Passion_Google_WWE_2.16.1700.1_FRG33_MFG_Shipment_ROM.zip", renamed it to "PASSIMG.zip. put it on the micro SD card
put the SDcard card onto my N1
boot into fastboot, open the bootloader and come into hboot
after some time (few sec) i see a green text showing that the phone is looking for an image and don't finding it.
i try to download the file with diferent browser (chrome, safari, firefox) to be sure it's not a download problem
i don't know what whent wrong
The file is a .zip within a .zip, extract it, then rename the extracted .zip to passimg.zip and try again.
still don't work
when i extract it i got:
PASSIMG_Passion_Google_WWE_2.16.1700.1_FRG33_release_signed.zip
i rename it to PASSING.zip
but the N1 dont find it on the SD card
are you sure it,s the right file for my N1?
It's the right file, you can't spell
passimg.zip
i speel it wrong when i retype it, but it's speel PASSIMG.zip on the SD card
i try PASSDIAG.zip to because i saw this name on my N1 when it's looking for an image
it don't work
try it 5 ou 6 time, but nothing
Ah that's odd, its definitely the right file as I've use it myself numerous times.
Do you get the blue bar again, or nothing?
when i boot into fastboot, i can select bootloader
then i'm into HBOOT (un blue)
y have option for : fastboot, recovery, clear storage and simlock
if i don't select anithing, after few sec, i see green text (5 ou 6 ligne) when i see that the N1 is looking for image
it don't see anything and come back to the Hboot screen (same as before)
Well as another way, extract the system.img and boot.img files from the passimg and use fastboot to flash them, can't go too far wrong with that.
I suggested this over fastboot because it doesn't require USB drivers, but no idea why it wouldn't work. I did forget the part about extracting the file.

Hey, ive recently updated the rom on my phone from cm 6.1 (stable) to cm7 nightly (vendor ace) -
initially i did it to test it and to see if it would fix my problem were the phone screen would automatically turn off when reciveing and sending calls, which resulted in taking out the battery and turning back on(which is now randomly working again)
after i flashed the cm7(via rom mamanger) it worked fine, got back onto the phone and i didnt have market and my phone wasnt connecting to google accounts aswell, so i then installed gapps. it worked the first time and it said it was succesful.
Restarted my phone and its the same, no market..etc..
so i tried it again, same thing, then for some reason when ever i try and load into the recovery from rom manager or from the inital vol - and power, it just freezes on the HTC startup screen.
The only thing i think i may have done different was adding this file to my phone (recovery-ace-3.0.0.5.img) because someone on cm7 told me i needed it, but i have no clue what it was for nor how to load or flash it.
So my main problem is, gapps wouldnt install and now ic ant access the recovery manager either and im getting kinda bored without my precious DHD
Can someone please help me
Just to make this clear, you cannot access your recovery even through bootloader? Can you get to the bootloader?

Your device has to be in bootloader>fastboot mode. After that you can access recovery, do a full wipe and flash CM6.
Ill try this now and reply once its done, erm why flash cm6? or do you think the same fault will happen if i try and reinstall cm7?
do i have to be in the bootloader from the beginning?
plus is there htc sync for MACs?
Thanks alot btw
Well, you can try to flash the cwm 3.img like I described and then install CM7, but I know for sure that the recovery I linked works with CM6.
You have to be in bootloader fastboot when you issue the command, yes.
I do not have a MAC, so I am not really sure. I think that you would have to get Android SDK and forget about radio flash toolkit if you want to use a MAC.
And then download radio flash.zip from radio.img flash guide sticky, extract it, open "start here", drop reco.img to the radio flash folder and type:
right so whilst i do all of this, i need to be in the bootloader > fast boot - sorry just want to clarify, ive not done this before but i have faith!!
Yeah, it does not really matter, but I would put my phone to bootloader fastboot so it is ready. The important thing is that your device is in fastboot mode when you enter the fastboot flash command.
Kool Kool, well thanks alot im going to try this now
right so i successfully entered the recovery, thanks alot for the help with that.
I tried to reinstall cm7 -worked and gapps - said it worked, but it still wont bring up the market app, why is this?
i reinstalled a back up and everything is working again, im so confused why it wont bring up the market app in cm7

when you boot into recovery, not just through rom manager, does it say you have cwm 3.x installed? if so try re-flashing the gapps, if not go back into fastboot and flash cwm3.
Wow, really sorry about that, i thought the cwm was a custom firmware i thought t was optional, sorry for the inconvenience, but thank you alot this has been daunting :/
flashed the right recovery, and everything is working as it should be, thankyou both very much

Ok, here goes. First off, I searched. A lot. There is so much conflicting information and opinions out there. I hate to annoy you pros with noob-ness but I have to. Sorry!
Here is the quick version:
Friend gave me an Atrix 4G. He is big on experimenting, rooting, custom ROMs and all that. I am not. At all. I want to use it on t-mobile. I DO get a signal and can text. MMS doesn't work and motoblur wont let me set up an account. This results in no access to email other then Gmail. Basically, I want to bring the phone back to its original (or close as possible) state. Hopefully, that will solve some of my issues.

-Rooted
-Build Number
olympus_hktw-userdebug 2.3.4 4.5.2A-5_OLH-3110614 test-keys
-Clockwork recovery mod installed (if that matters)
I am not THAT tech savvy but can follow instructions well. I've already been messing around but cant seem to get RSD Lite to actually flash properly. I dont care for customs ROMS, hacking and tinkering. I just want this phone to work as well as possible.
Can anyone give me some personal assistance? Please? Step by step would be great. I'll be refreshing this page often in hopes of responses.

It sounds like you need to set up a proper T-Mobile APN. (you have a T-Mobile SIM card currently installed?)
If you can get on Wifi, try to go the the Play store and download Tweakker or other APN utilities that enter the APN for your based on your carrier.

Yes. I have a t-mobile SIM card installed. My concern is what the previous owner may have done and whatever ROM is loaded on this phone. Can I somehow bring it back to stock or get a super stable, close to stock as possible ROM first and then start addressing the quirks I have?
Is this an AT&T branded phone? I'm not sure if getting back to stock is necessary, and if you do get back to stock, you might be SIM locked to AT&T (I could be wrong however). If you want to flash a fresh, stock ROM but still be rooted, SIM unlocked, etc., find a 2.3.6 Fruitcake in this forum or try NottachTrix 4G ROM.
however, I'd wait till others weighed in before doing anything. Honestly, I'd try getting your APN (download Tweakker app and walk through the steps) going now and if that solves your issue, your ROM might be working fine for you... my $0.02
oh, and welcome to XDA!

1. Download the fruitcake .zip you want (webtop also, if you want it)
2. Do a full wipe with fastboot (search if you're unsure how to)
3. Boot into recovery and flash the .zip you downloaded from step 1
4. Reboot and you're done
This will put you back to stock. I can't remember if fruitcakes are pre-rooted, but if not you can easily root again.
Alright, now we're getting somewhere.

The phone itself says "unlocked" upon startup. I got the network unlock code direct from AT&T because at first the phone wouldn't even recognize my t-mo SIM. Phone is now network unlocked.
Ghost
gonna search now for fruitcake and see what thats all about. Do I need webtop?
Then going to get fastboot. Guess I dont need RSD Lite anymore?
Im doing this because I dont know what the previous owner has done and would like a clean slate. Kind of like changing the oil on a used car you buy, even if the PO says it was done.
Ok so,
I found fastboot with recovery tool and the .exe files within the ZIP dont do anything.
The fruitcake ZIP file I downloaded according to your link, I'm not sure what to do with that. lol
Help?
**am I supposed to be saving these files to the phone itself? If so, where? Internal storage? SD card?

that "unlocked" bit on start up means your bootloader is unlocked, doesn't have anything to do with the SIM card. All this means is that you can flash a ROM since the phone is "unlocked"

the fruitcake .zip goes on your internal sdcard. BUT, before you start doing anything, please go through the stickied threads in this section and read up on how to flash ROMs to your phone. This will include how to wipe your phone using the fastboot commands and how to flash the fruitcake .zip.

FYI:
Before installing any ROM or Kernel I suggest you do the following to help prevent error, boot-loops, etc. Also, it's a good idea to flash a new ROM or Kernel on a fully charged device:
1) Download which ever ROM or Kernel you plan on flashing and have the .zip on your device ready to flash.
2) Backup your apps (not system data), contacts, etc. Also consider making a CWM backup of your device, just in case.
3) Boot into CWM Recovery
4) Wipe Dalvik Cache (under advanced in CWM)
5) Wipe Cache Partition
6) Wipe data/factory reset
6a) If you're using ROM Manager/CWM you will need to reboot the device after step 5, and upon reboot enter fastboot mode and enter the command: "fastboot -w" or "moto-fastboot -w" if you prefer using moto-fastboot. Then type "fastboot reboot" and upon reboot make sure to enter Android Recovery again, so that you can flash the ROM/Kernel.
7) Install .zip from SD Card (choose the .zip you wish to install)
8) If you installing a radio, theme, kernel, etc. on top of a ROM, I would suggest redoing the whole wipe process again between flashes.
9) Reboot the Device
- If you get a boot loop, try entering Android recovery and re-wiping the chace and data, and perhaps try reflashing the ROM/Kernel. Or if you made a CWM backup, you can always restore that."

Ok so,
I found fastboot with recovery tool and the .exe files within the ZIP dont do anything.
The fruitcake ZIP file I downloaded according to your link, I'm not sure what to do with that. lol

Ok, sorry I wasn't that detailed in my other post and assumed you were on your phone (my bad). First things first, read the N00b guide.
1. Anytime you download CWM .zips, put them on the root of your phone's sdcard. You'll need them there in order access them from recovery. ( note: sdcard=internal sd card & sdcard-ext=external sd card for blur ROMS )
2. Fastboot commands are executed from the command line. Open a command prompt and navigate to the directory containing fastboot.exe in order to use it. The Noob guide should have links to all the fastboot commands you'll need.
3. With the Atrix's unlocked BL, holding Volume Down when turning the phone on will bring up a series of bootmodes to choose from. This is how you get into fastboot, recovery, RSD, etc. Navigate through the choices with Volume Down. Select one by pressing Volume Up. You should only ever really need Fastboot and Android Recovery.
4. CWM is used to flash .zips (ROMS, kernels, apps) while in recovery mode. Use romracer's to make things easier on yourself later.
Read through the N00b guide and this will all make perfect sense.
I have no idea what Im doing. I think because this phone has been tampered with so much already, it's making it extra tough to work with.
I managed to install CM7. Its the only ZIP file that actually seemed to take. I still dont understand fastboot , in the sense that I don;t know when Im supposed to see a command prompt. Also, now, CM7 is asking me to upgrade to premium and I have to pay for it. There doesnt seem to be a free way of installing it so that I can sync all my info through my google account. Ugh. Im not cut out for this but Ive been screwing with this literally since 730 this morning.
**CM7 with google apps packet installed. So far, so good. Im happy with this considering its pretty close to stock gingerbread, kinda like my G2. Now, Im hopefully done messing around. Would be nice if they release a solution for the fingerprint scanner or if I can get my gmail to auto sync but at least I can stop obsessing for the time being. Great help guys, thanks so much!!!!
Recently, more people with our cousin Willy the Wilderbee have been roaming about in our forums and I said I would like to investigate further.
So, to be true to my word, I got a second hand one posted over to me and I can now test. First thing's first, though, I fully updated the device before I rooted it with z4root and there was no Gingerbread update. With that being said, I am going to do my best to provide a stable custom Sense ROM for this device so that no one is left behind.
So then, to the first order of business.
How to unlock the bootloader of the HTC Bee and flash Clockworkmod recovery!
1. Proceed to htcdev.
2. Create a login username and password.
3. Go back to the bootloader unlock page and select Wildfire*
4. Now it will tell you to select a RUU. Select the one for your carrier. Make sure it says PD06 beside it, as that is the HTC Bee's bootloader code number.
5. Run the RUU on the device. If it fails or says that you need to update your software first then follow 5a.
5a. With the RUU still running go to: C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp (Windows 7) and use the search tab in the top right corner. Search for rom.zip. Copy this to your desktop and close the RUU and the Windows Explorer window. Rename it PD06IMG.zip and copy it to the root of your SD card. Power off the phone fully and then hold down volume down + power until the device boots into the bootloader (white screen). The device will scan the SD card and ask you if you want to perform the update. Use volume up to select yes. Once done, the device will reboot. When it has rebooted, go back to your bootloader and check your hboot version.
6. Check your bootloader version (power off, then volume down + power). If it says "locked" at the top, we are good to go (if your device already said "locked" then you are also good to go).
7. Extract the zip file from here to c:\adb\ (create the folder first).
7a. Delete the PD06IMG.zip from your sdcard if you used it.
8. Go back to htcdev and click continue.
9. Follow htcdev instructions to get unlocked bootloader. Afterwards, leave the fastboot command terminal open.
10. Once unlocked, return to the bootloader. Enter this command into your terminal window: fastboot flash recovery bcwm5.img
This will flash the version 5.0.2.8 of Clockworkmod that I have ported to the device. This is not an official version and has only been tested by me. Do not use the report function!
10a. Push power to go back to bootloader (from fastboot) then wait for the SD card scan to finish. Then scroll down to recovery (volume down) and select it (power button).
11. MAKE A BACKUP! Due to the severe lack of HTC Bee RUUs it is Imperative that you make a full backup of your stock ROM in case things go bad. This is your only way back to stock!
11a. Use the trackball to scroll down (or volume rocker) to backup and click in the trackball (this is select).
11b. Click in the trackball on Backup.
12. Congratulations! You have successfully unlocked your HTC Bee and put Clockworkmod recovery onto it!:good::good::good:
To flash Superuser and root your phone after you have made a backup download this
To do that:
1. Place .zip file onto your SD card.
2. Reboot into recovery.
3. Scroll down to install zip from SD card.
4. Select "choose install zip from SD card".
5. Scroll down to the superuser zip file and select.
6. Confirm installation.
7. Go back to the main menu and select "reboot system now".
Congratulations! You are now rooted.
Recovery controls
Trackball/volume button to move up and down.
Power button to go back/up a menu.
Trackball to select.
Alternative (sometimes the recovery will say back enabled and switch the controls around).
Back is a selectable option.
Power/trackball-in is select.
I have tested all settings for recovery and they all work for me.
Important things to note
This recovery is still considered beta . Any ROMs I release are as well, unless stated otherwise. Use at your own risk.
DO NOT FLASH ANY RADIO FILES WITH THIS RECOVERY! It will BRICK Your phone.
As of 27/10/12 this device has no custom ROMs or flashable mods. DO NOT FLASH BUZZ ITEMS. If you do, it's on your own head!
Ported recoveries are: Clockworkmod version 2.5.0.7 from the htcbuzz (update)
: Clockworkmod version 5.2.0.8 from the htcbuzz (edify)
Updates are coming soon (hopefully! )
edit: custom rom
Special thanks to:
kemoba - help with recovery porting.
hacktrix2006 - for building Clockworkmod version 5.0.2.8 from source for the HTC BUZZ

Aww thank you No thanks will be releasing a froyo rom tomorrow all going well do you own this device?
yes, I am the owner of HTC Bee and I have six months seeking recovery
Well I shall have a custom cooked froyo rom out for you to try hopefully tomorrow if you like seems like you are the only other person in the world
With the Bee files, u can port every rom here in the dev section. So multiple roms if u know the files to change

Well I tried a "quick port" of cm7 just yo see how it went and the device locked up on the buzz kernel, and had no touch drivers in the bee kernel, but I imagine sense would go fine
Sense can be ported without major problems like u said. For CM we use a different boot.img than the stock one. Unless u know how to edit the boot.img and edit the right files (kernel). It will be al lot easier if u can find the source for the kernel for the Bee. But CM team dont have it. I think it will be very difficult to get CM working on it.
But maybe, maybe the boot.img works. u do have replaced the boot.img from CM for the one from Stock rom?

Maybe i can help with the kernel stuff. Dont know everything, but i can build one from source and change the input, so the output.
